Welcome back to another chapter! I'm sorry about the erratic update schedule. I'll try to be back on track once I'm done moving. Now with the story, Moonco vs Starco! Moonco is up several points! Starco holds on steady? Who will win! Find out in the following chapters! Now onwards with this chapter!
Mewni AU
"Are you feeling alright sweetie?"
"I think I'm feeling a bit better, thank you Mom for asking", Moon nodded. It's been one hectic week. Her mewberty has caused her to go from being perfectly normal to boy crazy in an instant. She's been having symptoms on and off for the previous week. She even got really close to kissing Marco! 'Now that would of been awkward', Moon thought. Fortunately, her mewberty seemed to be going away. Moon hasn't had a mewberty episode for a whole day, a record for her. She was still being careful around boys just in case she went through mewberty. Still, mewberty didn't stop her from hanging out with Marco. Last week she went to spend time with him for Friendship Tuesday. She cooked some nachos, got more cooking classes from him, and watched some movies. It was great fun! Star, however, seemed to be in a serious mood throughout the entire night. Star said that something important was happening so she'd pop by today to see what's up. If Star was serious, it had to be major.
"That's nice to hear sweetie. I can't deal with another one of your episodes", Comet shook her head.
"Why not?", Moon asked.
"Remember what happened last time?", Comet reminded her daughter.
"What? It wasn't THAT bad", Moon defended. She had only captured maybe only ten of the male castle staff and locked them in sticky webs. Sure they were traumatized for life, but they survived! Plus they got a small pay raise! It was a win win for them! Moon had no idea what her mother was talking about.
"Yes it was. You caused all ten of them to resign almost immediately!", Comet added.
"It was their decision, not mine!", Moon huffed.
"Still they wouldn't of had if you didn't traumatize them for life", Comet shook her head. Her daughter was so stubborn at times! Her mewberty episodes were so destructive. She had a total of five of them and each one of them were highly destructive! She caused mass destruction wherever she went! She even burnt down a section of a village! Why was her daughter so calm about this?!
"Well what can I do about my mewberty?"
" Maybe stay away from boys? That's a great place to start", Comet suggested.
"That's kinda hard you know Mom", Moon retorted. It wasn't like she could chose when her mewberty was going to pop up. She had to expect the unexpected. It was especially difficult since she wanted to go to the future. It was simply so much fun! She could do activities normally didn't do and relax in ways Moon didn't think possible. It was worth the risk of triggering a mewberty episode. Hopefully she didn't have something as bad as the first episode. Moon ended up chasing River throughout the castle before she became really 'friendly' with him. 'That was disgusting!', Moon thought. That would be extremely awkward to explain with Marco.
" I know, especially with Marco around. "
"MOM!" , Moon groaned.
"What sweetie? You always praise him to the high heavens. "Marco the chef!" and "Marco the magnificent!" you would say. It sounds to me like you are in love with him", Comet smirked. She was really hoping for some grandbabies soon. It would be an awesome time having some new life around the castle! Comet hoped to meet this Marco for herself. It would be rude to not meet her future son-in-law. She had to plan their wedding! What type of dress should her daughter wear? What would this Marco like?
"Mom when did I say that?"
"Three days ago sweetie, remember? ", Comet reminded her daughter.
"DON'T. REMIND. ME", Moon groaned.
"Why is that? Is it because you love him?", Comet teased. Her daughter was quite happy singing this Marco praised worthy of a deity. She went around the entire castle talking about Marco. It was even more amusing when River came by the castle that day. The look on his face was absolutely hilarious! He looked like he was going to strangle this Marco if he ever saw her daughter's crush! 'Young love! I hope this Marco can face an enraged River!', Comet chuckled. Johansens tend to get very touchy when their love interests are being contested. It was usually best to avoid an enraged Johansen. Not everyone can defend against a literal one man army coming against them. Whoever this Marco is must be really strong or he'll find their relationship coming to a quick end through ab unfortunate 'accident'.
"I don't love him! He's just a really good friend!", Moon scowled.
"Oh I'm sure that he can give you a really 'good' time", Comet winked.
"MOM! I have done no such things with him! You know what I'm going to see him now! UH! I can't deal with this right now!", Moon pouted. She fumbled around with her dimensional scissors before cutting open a portal. 'Teenagers', Comet sighed. Comet knew she was a pain when she was a teenager, but her daughter was so tiring sometimes! Was this the feeling her own mother thought? Exasperated with the situation, Comet headed back towards drafting the final version of the peace treaty.
"Stupid mom", Moon muttered. How dare her mother think that she's done such inappropriate acts with Marco! This is the third time this week she hinted towards having 'fun' with him. She's a princess for corn's sake! She was too dignified to do such acts. Plus she isn't planning to be a teenage mother just yet. 'Though he could be a good boyfriend', Moon thought briefly. 'BAD MOON! He already has a girlfriend. Don't encourage bad behavior!', Moon scolded herself before casting her disguise spell. Now that she was dressed accordingly, she chanted "Teleportos dimensional converinclo timeless!" until the portal formed. Hopping into the newly formed portal, she soon found herself in her usual spot. The disadvantage of this spot was that she had to usually run or walk fast to get to Marco's house, but she didn't mind a run right now. She could use a bit of exercise.
At The Diaz Household
"Marco I'm doomed!"
"Don't say that Star! I'm sure the song can't be that bad."
"It is! It's so generic! It says nothing about the real me! I don't want some random person to plug in my name in an already existing song!", Star whined. 'Gosh so dramatic!', Marco groaned internally. It wasn't like the end of the world! She was a rebel princess! Surely she could spice things up! Star could survive an extremely boring song even if she couldn't change the song because of 'tradition'. Star's been through way worse! 'I wish Luna was here!', Marco sighed. Despite her odd behavior during her last few visits, she was a joy to have around. It would certainly make the day a lot easier.
"Star I'm sure you can survive this!"
"NO! I'll be ruined! I need to hide before the-", Star started. The door bell rang in just as Star was finishing her line of thought. 'He can't be here already!', Star shrieked. Why was the songstroll already here?! She had to ignore him for a while until he gets bored and leaves. Star was thinking about barricading the doors to make sure he didn't come in when Marco walked towards the door.
"I'll get the door!"
"NO Marco don't!", Star pleaded. Her cries were left unanswered as he opened the door. Outside of the door was a man of average height wearing a ridiculous looking outfit that definitely belonged in a fairy tale. He was carrying a violin in his hands with a bunch of paper in his pockets. Piecing together what Star was rambling earlier, Marco correctly assumed this was the songstroll sent out to make Star's princess song.
"Star your songstroll is here!"
"I'm not here!", Star replied sarcastically. She was trying to hide under the table in the kitchen. Her hiding spot wasn't the best since the songstroll spotted her within ten seconds of looking in the house.
"AH princess Star! I am Ruberiot! And may I just say, though we have much to do, how much of a pleasure it is to meet you, I'll-", Ruberiot sang.
"I get it. Come in", Star rudely interrupted. She got out of her hiding spot while she gave Marco a look that could kill. 'Geez, not my fault your mom had to send in a songstroll', Marco rolled his eyes. The songstroll sat comfortably on the couch as he waited for Star to come over. He looked like he was excited for his job. On the other hand Star looked like she wanted to literally be anywhere else right now.
"This shouldn't take too long. I just want to know the real princess Star."
"Oh how rude of me! I should get you something to drink. Do you want some water, juice, or tea?", Star asked.
"Tea would be nice-", Ruberiot began.
"For a matter of fact we have a special tea that we just got from the the Tea of the Month Club thanks to Marco. Why don't I make some for you? Don't move", Star ran to the kitchen in a hurry. He never recalled ever seeing any type of tea club in his school before. Was this another attempt for Star to leave the scene?
"Tea of the Month Club?", Marco wondered dubiously. True to his suspicions, he heard several questionable sounds from the kitchen. Several clangs and bangs rang through the house. It didn't sound remotely close to making tea. It sounded like she was trashing up the kitchen! After hearing a particularly loud smashing sound, he knew he had to see what type of devastation Star was reeking across the kitchen. Marco was about to go and check on Star when the door bell rang again. 'AGAIN?!', Marco groaned. He muttered all the way as he made his way to the door. He didn't need anything else distracting him from trying to calm down Star from her bad mood.
"WHAT IS IT?!"
"I guess I came in the wrong time", a gentle voice sniffled.
"Wait what?", Marco did a double take. Standing in front of him was none other then Luna. It was at this moment, he knew, he f*cked up. 'Oh my goodness, oh my gosh I messed up!', Marco panicked. Why didn't he take a second to see who it was?! Now he upsetted one of his best friends! What kind of a person was he?! He was a terrible person! Luna looked saddened at his reaction, making him feel even worse.
"I guess I'll come by another time", Luna turned back but was stopped when she felt a hand on her arm. Looking back questionably, she saw Marco holding her arms.
"I didn't mean to yell at you Luna. I'm so stressed right now because of Star but that doesn't excuse me for yelling at you. I'm sorry Luna", Marco apologized.
"I accept your apology. Just think before you say, okay?"
"Promise Luna."
"So what's going on with Star?", Luna rapidly changed the subject.
"She's really distressed about her song day", Marco answered.
"What's a song day?", Luna feigned ignorance. In reality she groaned hearing that word. 'Uh song day! No wonder why Star said today was an urgent day!', Moon sympathized. Her own song day was only two months from today! Every song day song was absolutely horrid! They said nothing about the person that they were representing truthfully, and they were all carbon copies of one another! If she could do whatever she wanted, she'd make her song wild! She'd put on a lightshow with fireworks everywhere! Yet 'traditions' had to be upheld. Star seemed to be a person who despised being formal so she's going to really hate it more then herself. Moon wanted to cheer her future daughter up. Then maybe Marco will be feeling a bit better about himself.
"It's apparently some sort of day where the kingdom gets a formal introduction to their princess. Lots of people attend to the event, sort of like a music concert. Somebody sings a song about Star and that's all I know."
"Sounds interesting. Where's Star?", Luna asked.
"In the kitchen", Marco pointed to the kitchen. A loud noise confirmed his directions. Both of them held hands while they walked into the carnage. When the came in, both of them gasped at how trashed the place was. There was food all over the floor and pots were scattered around. Star was in the process of jumping out of the window when they came in. 'Oh come on!', Marco facepalmed. This was going to take ages to clean up!
"Star what are you doing!"
"Getting out of here Marco! Now distract Ruberiot until I...", Star trailed off once she saw Luna. 'Luna's here?! This is amazing!', Star beamed. Luna was going to definitely going to cheer her up! Her two best friends were here now! Maybe Luna can find a way to dispose of Ruberiot! That'll clear up her entire day, and she won't have to go the the song day celebration!
"Hi Luna!"
"Greetings Star. I see you got busy", Luna said disapprovingly.
"I also see you got busy with Marco! When did you guys start dating?"
"We are not dating!", both of them shouted at the same time.
"Then why are you two holding hands?", Star asked. Both of them blushed heavily as the two looked at each other for a second before breaking their hold. They looked away from each other yet there was a hint of a smile on both of their faces. Moon in particular was having a hard time trying to hide her smile. Why did she enjoy it so much? 'There's no way I like him romantically', Moon denied. It was her mewberty for sure right?
"Well Marco's a cute boy! He's such a cutie. He's got a 'mole' lot to like about him!"
"Wait what?!", Marco yelled.
"Oops did I say that? I mean you're handsome. Wait no that sounds even worse!", Luna buried her face in her hands. Both Star and Marco looked at Luna awkwardly after her comment, especially Marco. 'Does Luna actually think I'm cute? That's... nice', Marco blushed. He's heard a few girls say he was cute but coming from Luna, it felt even weirder? Whenever Jackie or Star said he was cute he felt embarrassed or good. Hearing Luna say it made him strange but at the same time fitting. It was difficult for him to put it in words. Looking at Luna's pouting face, he found her cute. He stroked her hair softly to try to calm her down. She looked up at him with sparkling blue eyes. 'So cute', Marco smiled. Don't say that Diaz! He had a girlfriend already! Don't get tempted!
"Luna it's alright. I don't mind you calling me cute. In fact I like it when you call me that."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Ah thanks Marco. Hugs!", Luna leaned into him for a hug. She buried her face against his chest while he stroked her hair. It felt amazing feeling Marco's hands stroking her hair. Moon swore she heard Star say "Ship". It wasn't like this was something couples did normally right? 'Still Marco wouldn't make bad king material...', Moon thought ,'Yes he'd be a good boyfriend...No Moon this isn't going to work! He already has a girlfriend, and he doesn't find you attractive!' Moon tried looking away from Marco but couldn't. The more she tried to avoid looking, the more she felt herself hungering for him. It took her a second to realize that these urges were from her mewberty! 'No bad Moon! Do not give into your mewberty urges!', Moon tried to restrain herself from doing anything dumb. Despite her best efforts, her mewberty combined with her intimate contact with Marco made her urges too powerful to overpower. 'Must not give in! I must remain... You know what?! Screw it! Marco's mine! Screw the consequences!', Moon snapped. She'll make Marco her boy not matter what! And she had the perfect plan to make him hers!
"Oh Marco! You handsome devil!"
"Luna...?", Marco asked.
"Your the most handsome person ever! I want to snuggle next to you and hug Luna forever! I'll be yours forever Marco the magnificent. You're skills are undeniably awesome! You can do anything! Claim me my king! I want to be yours so MARRY ME!", Moon sang. Marco's eyes were bulging at each word. His jaws slackened, and he seemed to be in a state of shock. The only sound was Luna's song continuing to echo through the house. Unfortunately for Marco, Luna still had a quite a bit left to sing.
"M-A-R-C-O my love, you're the most re-marco-ble person ever!", Moon hugged him tightly while she continued to sing, "I was a lost maiden until I met you! You showed me the light! I don't know what to do without you! We'll be together forever! Now let's get married!"
Moon raised him over her head and carried a screaming Marco out of the Diaz household with a very surprised Star behind. Star then laughed out so loudly that the neighbors thought she was having a seizure. Tears were running down her face as she struggled for breath. "HAHAHA!", Star laughed. She knew Luna was the perfect girl for Marco! They were both nerdy and safety freaks. They couldn't stand messes! Now that's what Star would call a perfect couple. All that needs to be done to make the perfect ship is to remove Jackie from the equation. Thinking back about Marco's face of horror, Star broke down again in another laughing fit. Oh Luna was most certainly an interesting girl. It would be nice when Luna moved in with them after the marriage. Star briefly wondered what their ship name would be before collapsing into the ground after she broke into another laughing fit.
"Have fun Marco!", Star wheezed. She laughed for a few more minutes before heading back to try and distract the songstroll from making her horrid princess. 'At least Marco's going to have a better time then me', Star thought. She was so wrong.
Meanwhile Moon skipped cheerfully towards the nearest marriage office with a screaming Marco. Bystanders batted an eye at Marco's screams, but they returned back to their usual routine. They were used to the unusual shenanigans that happened around there with Marco. Moon strode into the marriage office with a confident grin. She was finally going to get married to the boy of her dreams! Screw common sense! It's time for her to find true happiness in her life! The clerk their raised an eye at the two teenagers. It wasn't everyday when one sees a girl carrying a screaming boy into the office. The other people there rolled their eyes at their shenanigans. 'Young love nowadays must really be crazy' was what everybody thought. Moon waited in line until it was her turn.
"Hi there Mr. Clerk! Can I get a marriage licence!"
"Um should I be concerned?", they stared at the still screaming Marco.
"Nope! Now here's our IDs!", Moon shuffled into Marco's pockets and grabbed his wallet. She casually grabbed his ID as she grabbed her own fake ID. Hopefully her fake ID looked real enough so it could be passed as authentic. She slammed the IDs into the desk for the clerk to collect. The clerk looked between the IDs and the two teens.
"Riiggghhhhtttttt. So you're telling me that you two want to get married even though you're not even fifteen yet?"
"That's correct!", Moon nodded cheerfully.
"And you're boyfriend wants this too?", they asked suspiciously.
"NO!", Marco screamed. How was this happening to him?! Everyday with Luna seemed to be as wild if not more wild then a day with Star. Last time she almost kissed him and now she was trying to marry him?! What type of drugs is she on?! Marco prayed that Luna wasn't serious about this. He was too young to get married! He was supposed to get a girlfriend first before getting married! He had a beautiful girlfriend that he's been crushing on for years! Now Luna comes here and wants to marry him after only a month?! Luckily for him the clerk there seemed to agree with him.
"I'm sorry, but he has to agree to it also."
"Even after this generous gift?", Moon dropped Marco on the ground as she headed into the bathroom. Everyone was confused at why she went to the bathroom suddenly. Marco started to feel relief. 'Maybe she suddenly realized how bad the idea was?', Marco prayed hopefully. His dreams were shattered when Luna came out of the bathroom with a very large wooden chest in her arms.
"What's in-", the clerk begun before their eyes threatened to bulge out of their face. Luna opened the chest, revealing an array of gems, gold, and other precious metals. Everyone in the room started to salivate once they say just how much money was there. They could become rich! 'That young boy certainly knows how to pick a girl!' was everybody's thoughts. Not only does this boy find a stunning girl, but she's loaded! That young boy is going to have a good life ahead of him.
"I take it back! You're going to love marriage! Now fill out the remaining information to get your marriage license!", he grinned widely. Moon scrambled to finish her application. She rushed through the process in just under six minutes before handing it back to the clerk. Marco of course was being held in place while Moon was filling her form out. She didn't want her beloved Marco to escape when she's this close to getting married. Marco however was absolutely terrified at the thought of being married at the age of fourteen! His birthday was in three months! Luna was a pretty girl, but he didn't picture them getting together! Love at first sight didn't exist in real life! Well apparently Moon thought it did! At times like these Marco seriously questioned what the meaning of life was. Marco could only watch helplessly as Moon handed her completed form.
"Here's you're marriage certificate young lady!"
"Thank you Mr. Clerk! Also there's three more chests in the bathroom so I suggest you get there before a war starts", Moon added. Everyone stampeded to the bathroom, hoping to claim part of the treasure trove there. In the midst of the chaos, Moon slipped away with her prize. Now that she had the official documents for her marriage, it was time to plan her marriage! She'll invite all of her friends and Marco's friends!
"Marco my soon-to-be-husband, we should celebrate this momentous occasion! What should we do wild man?!"
"LET ME GO!", Marco yelled.
"Okay Senpai!", Moon giggled. She dropped him onto the ground. Marco was about to have a panic attack when he felt Luna's lips softly press against his lips. Luna gently guided his face closer to hers as they shared their first kiss. Time seemed to slow down to a snail's pace. The only thing that mattered now was himself and Luna. Luna's kiss was unlike any kisses he had from Jackie. Luna had had an air of elegance and style while Jackie was more relaxed and playful. Luna was a gentle soul who showed great restraint when kissing him. She didn't go wild or crazy, no she was going at just the right intensity for him to feel relaxed. During their, it felt like they could take on the world. Marco felt guilty about this. He had a girlfriend already, and Jackie would be devastated if she saw this. Despite his building guilt, he wanted more of her now. He kissed her back and gently placed his right hand on the back of her head. They shared a moment of peace for several moments before they had to break up for air.
'Wow', was Marco's first thoughts. His first reaction surprised even him. He thought that he was going to freak out or yell, but instead he remained relatively calm. He wasn't sure what was more disturbing, his calmness about the situation or the fact that he enjoyed his kiss with Luna. 'I just kissed Luna, and it felt so natural. Almost right even', Marco awed. How could he not be freaking out about this? He was basically cheating on Jackie now with Luna. He's cheating on the girl he had a crush on for ages. How come it felt so right kissing Luna? Like they were meant together. He needed to think things out before he did something rash. 'If there's one thing I should always expect from Luna, I should expect any visit of hers to be filled with surprises', Marco chuckled weakly.
Compared to Marco, Moon was bursting with happiness. She was giggling and grinning like an idiot. 'I kissed Marco Ubaldo Diaz! THIS is the best day my life!', Moon's mind raced. 'Screw everything! If having mewberty meant being with Marco forever then it's worth it! I'll be his wife forever and he'll be my king!' He was everything she could of ever asked for, an understanding companion who had a knack for cooking. Moon slowly stroked his cheeks while she waited for his reaction. Marco seemed embarrassed by her actions, but he didn't stop her.
"That was uh something Luna."
"Did you enjoy my kiss?", Luna asked.
"I guess but please don't do that ever again", Marco relented.
"But why? We're going to be married soon so you'll have to get used to this", Luna reminded him. 'You're trying to play tough to catch huh? Okay Marco, I don't mind. Two can play the game', Moon giggled. She'll always win! She'll charm him until he could no longer deny her love! Nobody would triumph over her! Moon kissed him lightly on his cheeks but he didn't seem to notice her gesture.
"I'm too young to be married! Plus I have a girlfriend!"
"Oh yeah...That", Luna rubbed her head sheepishly. 'Wait why did I try to marry Marco?', Moon wondered. It took her a few moments to snap out of her mewberty daze but when Moon did, she was horrified at what she'd done. 'I was about to marry Marco! Why do I have to do such embarrassing things to myself?!', Moon freaked out. She ruined her friendship with Marco in an instant! She should of been stronger, but she gave into her desire!
"I'm sorry! I didn't know what I was doing! Please forgive me!"
"It's okay Luna really. I mean I wouldn't mind being married to you", Marco smiled awkwardly.
"You really think I'm someone you wouldn't mind marrying?", Luna widened her eyes.
"You're a pretty girl and a smart one too. I think anybody would be lucky to marry you", Marco assured her. 'He thinks I'm somebody that's worth married too? Does that mean he likes me?', Moon pondered. She skimmed over the idea of her marrying Marco. He was cute, and they both shared a lot of interests. He would be a good match for her. Moon briefly wondered what their kids would be like before she shut down that though immediately. He was dating Jackie. She would never stoop down low enough to steal someone else's boy. If he wanted to remain with Jackie then it was his choice. 'Though if he decides to breakup with Jackie then...No bad Moon!', Moon scolded herself. She wouldn't get jealous over him! Marco was just one boy! There are certainly many more boys out there!
"Thanks Marco that means a lot to me."
"No problem Luna", Marco chuckled, "So what do we do now?"
"I'll keep the marriage license just in case you change your mind Marco", Luna teased, much to the embarrassment of Marco. "But seriously we should go back to your house before Star does something."
"She does get rowdy when she's nervous", Marco agreed.
"Then let's get going!", Luna grabbed Marco by his hand. Marco let out a girly screamed as he's dragged around by Luna. 'She really needs to stop doing that', Marco whined. Luna was far stronger then what she appeared to be, but that didn't mean she had to drag him around everywhere like he was a child! Luna happily dragged Marco all the way back to his own house. Once again, everybody assumed it was perfectly normal for him to scream that much. If he didn't know any better, he'd say she's trying to impress him. Was she actually serious about the whole marriage thing?
When they got back to Marco's house, it was silent except for faint whimpers coming from upstairs. The place was completely dark with not a soul in sight. The couple went upstairs to check up on Star. Her door to her room was closed, and Moon hesitated slightly before opening it. Inside of the room, Star seemed to be in a state of disarray. Her room was even messier then usual, and Star was pulling down her hair as though she was in great distress. 'She even gets that from me', Moon chuckled. Making her way to Star, Moon called out, "Hey Star! We're back!"
"Oh hey there Luna. You too Marco", Star said dejectedly.
"What's wrong Star?", Luna asked.
"I may or may not have messed up with the songstroll. Turned out he hates the princess songs as much as I do, but I made fun of him! Now he's going to plug in my name in my mom's song!", Star panicked, "What am I going to do?!"
"Shhh. Star please calm down. You just have to think this through okay?"
"Okay Marco", Star hugged him. For some odd reason, Moon felt a pang of jealousy shoot through her. 'It's not like I have a crush on Marco right?', Moon tried to convince herself. Marco was free to hug her future daughter right? Yet when they hugged each other for more then a minute, Moon's eyes began to twitch. She tapped her foot as though she was impatient. 'Come on, come on! Hurry up', Moon growled. What was taking them so long?! It wasn't like they had all day to hug! Finally after what seemed like ages Moon decided enough was enough and coughed to get their attention. They looked at each other sheepishly and broke away from each other. 'Thats better!', Moon cheerfully smiled.
"Sorry about that. I guess we kept you hanging", Marco rubbed his head.
"That's alright! We're friends right?", Luna wrapped her arm around Marco's shoulder, causing Star to twitch her eyes. Moon smiled happily seeing her future daughter's reply. Revenge was underrated!
"Yeah we're really good friends", Star gritted her teeth. Why did Luna have to be so infuriating?! Luna interrupted their hug! Gosh what was Luna's problem! Marco could hug her all day as far as she was concerned. Was Luna spiting her by hugging him? Two could play the game!
"So Star don't you have to get things straight with the songstroll before he plugs in your name in your mom's song?, Luna smirked.
"Crap! You're right!", Star panicked. ' Stupid song day!', Star groaned. Getting her revenge on Luna was important, but not as important as making sure she wasn't humiliated during song day. Star grabbed Marco's dimensional scissors, causing him to yelp.
"Star!"
"Sorry Marco but I really need these right now!"
"What are we supposed to do?!", Marco asked.
"Just get something fancy to dress up in!", Star yelled back.
"Like what?!"
"I dunno! Like a royal outfit or something! I'm inviting you to the song day celebration so you better be dressed up nicely or you'll get tomatoes thrown at you!", Star replied. Marco's face paled hearing what could happen if he didn't dress properly. Luckily, or unlikely for Star, Luna nudged very close to Marco.
"Don't worry Star! I'll handle it! Come on Marco it'll be fun finding you the perfect outfit for you! Just me and you huh?!"
"I'm not so sure about th-"
"Muah!", Luna kissed him on the cheeks, "You worry too much Marco! We can do this together!"
Marco's cheeks flushed in embarrassment while Star seethed at Luna. 'You know I really dislike her sometimes', Star tried to say evenly. If this is how Luna wants to play she'll get burnt! Luna seemed to notice her glare and held hands with him and giving Star a smirk, increased Star's glare. Luna will definitely get it now! Nobody will get away from her wrath!
Time skip
'Hehehe!', Moon laughed. That face on Star's face was so funny! Star looked like she was about to tackle her! Who knew Star had a temper! Her daughter really was like her in so many ways! From their destructive nature to their taste in boys! Speaking of boys Moon looked over her shoulder to see how Marco was faring. He still looked embarrassed from her earlier kiss. Despite his embarrassment, he was smiling like an idiot. 'Ha! I knew he liked me!', Moon grinned triumphantly.
"So Marco where are we going to find some fancy clothes?", Luna asked innocently.
"I know a few places here that have what we're looking for", Marco said.
"Oh that's good to hear my prince", Luna teased.
"Can you please stop calling me your prince? It's really embarrassing", Marco groaned. 'She isn't a princess nor are we engaged!', Marco massaged his temples. It was fortunate Jackie wasn't here or she'd accuse him of cheating on her with Luna. Now that would've been disastrous.
"Hmmm... How about no? You're really cute when you're embarrassed", Luna smiled crookedly.
"You know you're really annoying at times", Marco shook his head.
"I know", Luna smirked. "Now lead the way my prince!"
"Luna!", Marco groaned. Shaking his head, he grabbed her hand as he guided her towards the nearest store that held the goods they needed. This was going to be a long day if Luna kept being so flirtatious. Hopefully none of his classmates or really anybody from his school saw their exchange or there'd be hell to pay.
Time skip"Marco come on! We need to go!"
"Aww come on! This suit is so hard to get on!", Marco complained.
"Well can you at least hurry up! We're going to miss my Song Day at this rate!", Star ranted.
"Come on Marco! You wouldn't want to miss out on something this important!", Luna added, causing Star to glare at her friend. She was dressed in a formal princess garb with her hair up in a bun. Star really hated wearing anything too formal because one, they were uncomfortable to wear, and two she didn't want anything to do with traditions. Looking over at Luna, she appeared to be much more comfortable in her dress. Luna on was given more leniency because she wasn't a royal. Still the dress Luna wore wasn't exactly cheap. In fact it looked like it could very well be as expensive as Star's dress. 'How rich is her family?', Star wondered. If Luna could afford such expensive clothes, why did she chose to wear a hoodie?
"I'm done!", Marco exited the wardrobe with style.
"Great we were worried you'd 'wore' yourself down", Luna winked.
"Luna! Enough-", Marco opened his mouth to complain but was stopped by the sheer beauty of the girls in front of him. His Star was dressed up in such a beautiful dress that she could've been mistaken for an angel. Her already stunning beauty was enhanced by light makeup applied on her face. The only thing he was a bit uncertain of was her hair. Sure Star looked cute with her hair up, but he preferred her hair down. Looking from Star to Luna, his jaws threatened to detach from his jaw. Luna insisted that her dress be a secret to surprise him and now he could see why. She was wearing a dress equally as impressive as Star's despite being simpler. It was a mainly purple dress with hints of pink. The dress around her chest was a light purple topped by a golden butterfly near her neck. Luna had her hair down as usual, but she took great care in brushing her hair to make it look wavy. Both of the girls together looked like they were both sent from heaven to great him.
"What's wrong Marco, did you get Star-struck?"
"I-uh... You guys look great!", Marco stuttered.
"What do you think?", Luna chuckled.
"You two look great! I think you two are really the, actually I've got nothing", Marco looked away embarrassed.
"Hey is Star okay?", Luna pointed to a drooling Star.
"Star can you hear me", Marco waved his hands in front of Star to no avail. She was stuck in a deep trance induced by Marco's overwhelming handsomeness. 'Marco's mine, he's always mine! Mine, mine! My king! My partner for babies!', Star drooled. She had no idea that Marco could look so hot in a royal outfit. He looked so cute with the shoulder tassels on his vest and the mole was even cuter! He looked so regal yet casual at the same time. She cusped her hands on his cheeks and faintly whispered,"Be. Mine."
"I think Star's gotten mark-ed."
"Now's not the time for jokes! I need to wake up Star before she gets sudden fangirl syndrome!"
"I got it", Luna shrugged. She casually slapped Star on the head so hard that Star almost fell on the ground were it not for Marco catching her.
"What was that for?!", Star roared. How dare someone interrupt her from her Marco simping moment?! That was an offense punishable by death or worse! Luna will know never to mess with the princess of Mewni after this!
"One I had to wake you up. Two we're almost late for Song Day. Three that was what you get for knocking me out in the Neverzone", Luna huffed.
"Oh crap Song Day! Hurry we can still make it on time! Also screw you Luna! You know I had to knock you out or you'd done terrible things to Marco!"
"He'd enjoy the things I had planned for him that day!", Luna retorted.
"Did not!", Marco feverishly shook his head. He did NOT want to think about what Luna would've done to him if Star hadn't intervened. Marco shuddered at the thought of being a father at such a young age! He didn't even finish his first year of high school!
"Sure thing Marco."
They managed to reach the theatre just as the song was about to start. What shocked them even more was how Queen Moon and River came to the booth shortly after they arrived. This perplexed Moon greatly. She had the idea that her older self seemed to be quite serious and demanding. Seeing her older self late made Moon wonder where they were off to. Upon spotting a small twig on her older counterpart's hair, Moon cautiously removed it.
"There was a twig on your hair you highness. Not to worry, I've got it!"
"Oh why thank you my dear. I must be getting clumsy in my old age", Queen Moon smiled nervously.
"It's no problem Queen", Marco smiled.
"Thank you Marco", Queen Moon nodded her head. Turning her head to her only daughter, she complimented, "I'm proud of you Star. I know this might not be your favorite thing to do, but you went through with it. To say I'm proud of you is an understatement."
"Thank you mom. Just so you know I may of made a few adjustments to that old song."
"What 'adjustments'?", Queen Moon raised her eyebrows in suspicion. Whenever her daughter said any anything about 'minor' adjustments, it usually meant there were HUGE changes to whatever her daughter was working on. Before she could press any further, the songstroll walked onto the stage. The stage lights focused onto him as a small puppet of Star appeared on stage.
"Who is the maid with the buttercup hair?
Who sleeps on moonbeams and dances on air?
With tears made of honey and a heartful of bunnies,
Whose infinite virtues are known near and far,
It's Mewni's own sweetheart, our dear Princess Star." 'So far so good', Queen Moon thought. She had feared something radical but so far her daughter had defied her expectations. 'Maybe she actually did something good for once.'
And under the shimmer and rubies and pearls,
Lies hidden a fierce and adventurous girl,
The forces of Evil, that lurk in the night,
Will cower in fear when the shooting Star... IGNITES!", Ruberiot suddenly slammed his violin into the ground, smashing it entirely. Before anyone could even begin to process what had happened, he tore apart his clothes, revealing a bright outfit and an electric guitar. Lights blared everywhere while massive props appeared out of nowhere. 'And there's the 'minor' adjustments I've been waiting for', Queen Moon shook her head. Hopefully her people wouldn't smear tomatoes and corn kettles at her daughter for these changes. The big word was HOPEFULLY.
"Weaving magic like a born spellcaster,
And wreaking havoc like a natural disaster,
She rocks her Narwhal Blast and Warnicorn Stampede!
She's gonna earn her crown, so hail to the Queen!" To her surprise, people were getting up on their seats and wildly waving their hands in the air. They were cheering on the songstroll to finish the song. 'Perhaps I misjudged Star', Queen Moon reluctantly admitted.
She's a rebel princess, she's the best,
She's a ball of lightning in a hot pink dress,
She's a thunderstorm, roaring through the night,
She's a shooting star, and she's lighting up the sky!", Ruberiot finished to a massive round of cheering. Everyone was clapping their hands at the killer performance. Even the older folks loved the new revamped song. It seemed like Star's gamble did work after all.
"Yeah that's my girl!", Rhimbulus raised his fists in the air.
"Good job Star! What a lovely adjustment you made", Queen Moon said proudly. Everything was going out far better then she had dared hope for. Not only did her people love it, Queen Moon enjoyed it herself to her surprise. Perhaps tonight could end quite nicely.
"I knew you could do it!", Luna beamed. 'I had no idea my future daughter was such a rebel!', Moon gaped. She definitely needed to implement some of Star's improvements into her own song day. That'll definitely be far better then the Song Days of the old.
"Yeah about, it's not over", Star shifted in her seat nervously. Suddenly the whole atmosphere got a whole lot darker. The bright props were replaced by far more menacing props and grey fog encompassed the stage. 'And this is the part where she messes up', Queen Moon guessed.
"Shooting star shining in the night so bright,
She started to attract a pair of envious eyes,
The villain rose up from behind the jester's cross,
She drove him away but didn't know what she had lost!
Glossaryck and her Book of Spells,
How could she know Ludo would take them for himself?
She confessed to her parents, all full of dread,
The King and Queen exchanged a look and this is what they said...
This is what they said...
This is what they said,
We will KEEEEEEP your silence for you,
From the citizens of Mewni and the High Comission, too." The faces of everyone was exactly the same, disbelief, shock, anger, and confusion all at once. Even the Magic High Commission was stunned into silence. The Queen and King themselves looked Like they've been caught in the cookie jar. the situation wasn't so serious, their faces would've been priceless. Yet there was no denying everyone was rightfully angered at the deception of the royal family. 'Oh Star why did you have to mess this up!', she cursed out her daughter mentally.
To keep the peace, we will play the game,
Royal secret from the royal shame,
Royal secret from the royal shame", Ruberiot finished the song. Everyone in the audience was either too shocked to speak or were about to splatter both Ruberiot and the royal family with trash laying around.
"Star what was that?!", Queen Moon demanded.
"I just wanted them to know the real me! Look it's over now so we can-", Star began. Then the stage did another 180 by once again becoming light again with bright props appearing once more. 'Wait what? I'd didn't ask for a third part! What's goin on!', Star panicked. This wasn't good! What could possibly be in this third segment?!
"Our princess Star's caught in a tangle of web,
A web of love between two of her closest friends,
Deep down she knows she loves her best friend,
Yet she acted too slow!", Ruberiot sang. To Star's shock, two more puppets extended from the stage. It was Luna and Marco!
"Wait did you put this in the song?!", Luna glared at Star. If looks could kill, Luna would've caused a mass genocide from her look alone. Star was suddenly too scared to look at her friend's gaze.
"A previously unknown Butterfly has claimed her lover as her own!
One that they call Luna Conqueror!
They'll start a new Butterfly tree with their union!
And through the dawn will emerge a new heir to the throne!
Welcome to the Butterfly Family Luna Butterfly!", Ruberiot's final verse shocked everyone to the core. Everyone's thoughts were 'Another Butterfly?!', 'A heir to the throne?!', or 'What other secrets can the royal family be keeping?!' Everyone was curious to see the new Butterfly. The dissenters who were about to trash the royal family were now eager to see the newest edition to the royal family. The ENTIRE MHC took one glance at the royal family, immediately spotting Luna. 'Oh crap!', Moon swore to herself. To make matters worse she heard Marco collapse onto the ground in shock. It looks like she was on her own.
"Queen Moon would you care to explain why you kept the disappearance of the Book of Magic a secret and Luna?", Hekapoo said with a dangerous edge in her voice.
"Look I had the situation under contr-", Queen Moon started but was interrupted by Luna's battle roar.
"STAR BUTTERFLY I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
"WAIT!", Star pleaded. It was all in vain as Luna charged at Her and tackled her over the railings. Star summoned Cloudy to break her fall. Unfortunately for Her, Luna grabbed the wand and grabbed it! They landed on the stage next to a bewildered Ruberiot.
"YOU'LL REGRET THOSE WORD CHOICES COMING FROM YOUR MOUTH!", Luna laughed manically. She grabbed a prop and began chasing Star down with a giant heart. Star ran as fast as she could or she'd get her head bashed in. Whenever Luna swung the heart, it took a part of the floor with her. 'Why Ruberiot, Why?!!', Star briefly cursed out Ruberiot. She didn't have much time to think about Ruberiot when she saw corn ears whizzing by her. Looking back, Luna was grabbing corn ears and trying to impale Star with them! Luna then grabbed a wooden pole and almost impaled her! 'How strong is she?!', Star panted.
Meanwhile everyone was watching the spectacle with amusement in their eyes. It was like the old mating rituals where two warriors duked it out to see who was stronger. Whoever won got the partner of choice. The MHC looked on for a moment before Omnitraxus broke the silence
"Do you want to grab some popcorn?"
And that wraps it up! I'm sorry for such a long delay between chapters! My finals are around the corner and I need to study more.To make it up I'll be doing another update in the weekend! Also I have reorganized all of my current stories and planned stories into an organized story path. So the Moon from A New Frontier will be called Altered Moon and Moon from Memorytale will be insanity Moon. Finally the two planned AUs will be Corrupted Moon, Darkest Lunar Eclipse, and Cuteness Moon, Cuteness Effect. Hope that clarifies some things! Until next time, Peace!
