I forgot to mention that this story is A/H. I'm a pretty big fan of realistic fiction. Don't get me wrong, some fantasy can be great, I'm just not a huge fan of it. So, don't expect too much of that in my stories. Maybe though, I'll see if I can come up with any good ideas.
Enough of my blabbering. Go ahead and read! Nothing is stopping you!
"Bella!" Alice barged through my bedroom door, once again, squealing.
I knew when she opened the door earlier that she had planned on staying the night. I always kept a spare key in a flower pot under the steps, and Alice knew that. Whenever Alice or Rose decided to stay over they always stayed in the guest room, unless Alice was in the mood to do our nails and hair, then we would all sleep in the living room.
We all lived in separate houses. I, as you already may know, live in a small two bedroom, three bathroom home with a kitchen, living room, and basement. Two of the bathrooms are en suites to the bedrooms and the other bathroom is located just down the hall from the bedrooms. The basement is cozy. I had renovated it myself when I had first moved in. There wasn't any drywall, only support beams and insulation. So I made a trip to Home Depot and got to work. I added the drywall and taped up the seams and then painted it a cozy milk chocolate brown colour.
I found some brown leather sofas on Kijiji for sale and purchased a small flat screen at a local electronic store on sale. I wasn't much of a gamer but I did have an old Nintendo 64 as well as a GameCube and a Wii from 2006. So, for storage, I also picked up a large dark oak armoire which held the consoles, controllers, games, and extra wires.
Last but not least, my personal favourite item in the space, the fireplace. In the whole house there was not one wood burning fireplace. So, I made it a goal to purchase two large wooden electric ones. After a while of saving, I came across the perfect model for a great price. The first one I purchased was about the same colour as the armoire, if not, a bit darker. That one resided in the basement and had the flat screen TV perched on top. The second one was an off-white colour and was placed in the living room to match the sofa. When I first moved out, my mother, Renee, and my father, Charlie, had both purchased me a large seventy inch flat screen. It was so large that I had decided to mount it on the wall above the fireplace.
The kitchen was pretty basic, as well as the rooms. Modern like the living room yet cozy like the basement. The designs blended together nicely to create a cottage feel.
It hadn't been five minutes since I had gotten off the phone with Edward, and Alice was bouncing around my room. I supported myself on my elbows as she sat crossed legged at the bottom of my bed, facing me.
"So . . . was that him?" She questioned, rubbing her hands together mischievously.
I was silent for a moment before chuckling quietly and nodding my head. "Yes, Alice, that was him."
I cringed when she began to bounce again and squealed at an octave I'm pretty sure not even dogs could hear.
"How did you even hear me?" I asked and quirked my head in question.
"I was just on my way to use the washroom and heard you talking to someone. As of now, I am the only other person in the house," She paused for a moment and began looking around the room and locked her eyes on my closet. "Unless he snuck into your room and you hid him in the closet . . . "
I threw my head back and laughed loudly. "Of course not. Since when have I ever been so scandalous?" She giggled in response and slid off my bed.
"Did you two make plans to meet up again?" I nodded
"We're going out for lunch the day after tomorrow." A smile decided to make an appearance on both of our faces as I felt my cheeks grow warm just talking about it. About him.
"Well, call Rose and maybe we can video call while I get you all dolled up for your lunch date." She made her way towards my door and placed her hand on the knob. "It's just lunch so I'm sure we can find something in your closet that will be at least somewhat presentable."
"Hey!" I laughed and sat up fully, shifting so my back rested against the headboard. She laughed as well and opened the door.
"Call her when you can tomorrow. She's been just as eager for you to meet someone as I have."
"I know, Alice. Goodnight."
She nodded. "Goodnight."
I slid back under the warm covers and adjusted my pillow. The day was finally catching up to me and I could hardly keep my eyes opened. So, I let them close and drifted off to sleep, dreaming about the bronze haired beauty.
I woke up the next day with a smile on my face. I pretty much dreamt of the previous day, allowing me to live it all over again. I did my normal morning routine which included a shower, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, washing my face, and getting dressed. I then padded down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen to make myself some coffee.
As the coffee began to brew, I grabbed the cream from the refrigerator. Alice knew me so well that she left a sticky note attached to it, knowing I would make coffee in the morning. I rarely had coffee black.
I peeled the bright pink paper off the carton and read.
Bella,
You have no food. Went to buy groceries. Be back by noon.
- Alice,
I smiled at the note and took another glance into the fridge. All there was, was the cream, some milk, grapefruit juice, and an array of ingredients that would not go so well together. I then looked at the clock on the oven and noticed that it was already eleven.
Remembering that I had to update Rosalie on the Green-eyed-God, I ran back upstairs and grabbed my phone and pressed her name in my contacts. After four rings, she picked up.
"Bella! Hey!" Rose said through the phone. I smiled at the sound of her voice.
"Hey, Rose!"
"Is there a reason you are calling me or are you just missing me so much that you can't go a few weeks without hearing my voice?" We both laughed before I responded.
"Well, actually, there is a reason I am calling." I let the sentence hang in the air before she pressed me for more information.
"And the reason is . . ."
I pretty much yelled my response. "I'm going on a date tomorrow!" I said the sentence as fast as I could because all of the pent up excitement in me. She was silent for a moment before she spoke.
"Bella Swan, you dog. How long has it been? Five months? Well it took you long enough! Is he cute? Is he tall? Where did you two meet?" Her questions were coming at me a mile a minute and I answered them in full detail, not leaving out anything, including his silky bronze hair and groan worthy eyes.
We didn't get off the phone for at least another hour, her mother had made them lunch so she had to leave. Once I hung up, it finally set in. I would be going out with Edward in twenty four hours. I literally almost jumped in the air.
Afterwards, I settled myself in front of my TV and waited for Alice to get back. She would be home any minute. My phone then made a quiet ping noise. I reached over to grab it and noticed that I had gotten a text. A smile immediately appeared on my face when I read who it was.
I'll pick you up at 11:30 tomorrow, see you then :)
- Edward
I waited a few minutes before sending a message back.
Sounds good, can't wait!
- Bella
That's it for this chapter! I hope you guys liked it. Don't forget that I have another story on my profile that you can go ahead and read (that one is still in progress as well). Maybe it can help you pass the time until I post a new chapter on this story.
Don't worry about a really long wait for the next chapter. It's already been written, I just have to go over a few things. If it's not up by this time next week, I'm gonna . . . well I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna do something!
Check out my Spotify: for the soundtracks to my stories.
Have a lovely day!
