Since Old Downtown's only a short distance from the towering skyscrapers of Angel City's modern downtown, Valen's decided to take Rosa to where he works. Valen's remembered that Dimitri asked him to do this. As per usual, Valen appears to be very disinterested, keeping his hands within his pockets.

Valen glances leftwards towards a grinning Rosa, the sounds of vehicles driving down the road, footsteps, chatter, laughter, and the chirping of bird Pokémon echo and surround them.

"I left my home and now I see a new horizon!" Rosa raises her right fist towards the sky. "My homes will be Calvana and Unova! Dream and sweetie! Dream and sweetie!"

"What?" Valen blinks.

"I'm on the road to become the greatest trainer, and I won't quit until I'm number one!" Rosa gives Valen a cocky wink. "Gotta be number one! Number one, number one!"

"Uh-"

"We keep on trying, and then we try some more!" Rosa cheers. "To stay together, and find a place worth fighting fooooor! Rosa's on the road!"

"Rosa-"

"I'm on the road to Angel City!" Rosa announces. "Meet my Valey and the squad along the way!"

"There's no battling going on, Rosa." Valen smirks. "Also, this is Angel City."

"I knooooow, but I'm soooo happy!" Rosa gushes. "I get to become famous and popular in Calvana, and I get to hang out with Valey sweetie again!"

"She's a ball of fluff and cuteness." Valen turns away to hide his reddened face. "That's why one of her nicknames was cinnamon bun...wait, I meant is, not was"

Rosa focuses on the juggernaut building towering in front of her. "Soooooooooo, this is where you work, Valen?" Rosa inquires, mesmerized by the narrow, rectangular skyscraper.

She recalls a brochure stating that the Liniya Corporation's headquarters is a seventy story tall office building that was completed ninety seven years ago.

"Yep, but I'm now on indefinite vacation," Valen replies.

"Oooooh, more Valeeeey for meeee!" Rosa giggles.

"This building was constructed in the 1920s," Valen explains. "Modernist architecture."

"Tee-hee, I like the dark blue color!" Rosa's eyes glitter. "It matches your eyes, my Valey sweetie!" She compliments. She likes how the entire building's dark blue all around, with no noticeable deviations in the color scheme.

"Must she be so cute?" Valen hides his face with his left hand. "Not to mention that she's still super pretty."

"Picture timeeee!" Rosa announces.

Rosa takes her phone out of her pink purse. She darts further in front of Valen. She turns her back towards Valen and the camera, giving a cocky wink. The bright light of her phone's camera flashes several times.

Rosa runs back towards Valen, exclaiming, "I look soooo goooooood!"

"Yes she does, and I wonder how many pictures of herself she took within Old Downtown."

"Heeeeey, how strong is this Dimitri guy as a trainer?" Rosa inquires, eager to battle more local trainers. "As Battle Queen Rosa, I must know how strong he is! Tell me or I will bop you with my feet!"

Valen faintly laughs, stating, "He doesn't battle much," he answers. "However, if you talk to other trainers, you'll run into a rumor that Dimitri's stronger than our champion."

"S-Seriously?!" Rosa yelps. He's that strong?!"

"I'm neutral on it, because that's a pretty bold statement." Valen shrugs. "He doesn't believe it himself."

"Let's gooooo inside!" Rosa points her left index finger towards the sky.

Valen and Rosa walk on the concrete steps in order to enter the Liniya Corporation's headquarters through the automatic glass doors. Both Valen and Rosa hear the sounds of televisions, people murmuring back and forth, the dings of an elevator, among other noises. Nevertheless, the lobby's got a rather calm, quaint vibe to it.

Rosa's taken aback by the sheer size of the lobby, noting that the interior walls are also dark blue. Rosa glances to her left, and sees a large number of plush leather chairs, plus leather sofas several wooden tables, and a a flat screen television. To her right, Rosa sees a large fountain flowing with water, plus more sofa, chairs, tables, and another flat screen television. Rosa's favorite aspect are the various paintings that decorate the walls. The paintings range from mountain scenery to Pokémon such as Rayquaza and Lugia.

Valen stares at the paintings, attempting to remember their names. The Rayquaza painting depicts it soaring over Hoenn. The Lugia painting depicts it flowing through the deep ocean.

"The Sky Dragon's Domain, by Braxton and Maya Birch, 1920," Valen comments. "Stormy Seas by Ken Toyo, 1894."

Valen realizes that he needs to wake up Rosa from her self-induced trance. "Hey, naptime's over," He teases, patting Rosa's head. "Say something already."

"Oops, I got mesmerized!" Rosa giggles. "This lobby is like the size of an entire house!"

"That might be a bit of exaggeration, but it's big," Valen replies with a faint, mischievous smirk. "Will she fall for my trap?"

"It's not just big, it's very big!" Rosa corrects, causing Valen to faintly laugh. "Super duper ultra mega big!"

"That's what she said," Valen teases, his mouth having curved into a devious grin. "Success!"

"H-Hey, that's not a-appropriate at all!" Rosa yelps.

"You always fall into my trap." Valen proudly grins.

"M-Make a-appropriate jokes towards an innocent girl like me!" Rosa scolds

You're even easier to mess with than Melanie," Valen teases.

"M-Meanie face!" Rosa shuts her eyes. "Only meanie faces do this to innocent girls!" Her face burns bright red.

"I want cool sweetie Valey!" Rosa shouts. "Not meanie prankster Valey!"

Nearby onlookers chuckle at the situation unfolding right in front of their eyes.

Valen walks to the center of the lobby towards the receptionist's large circular desk. As Rosa runs to catch up with him, their shoes making a tapping sound as they walk on the tiled floor, finished in maroon paint.

"Ah, hello Valen," the female receptionist remarks.

"Hey, can you let Dimitri know I'm here?" Valen asks, balancing his head on his right elbow, while his right palm rests on the white desk.

"There is no need, as I am right here," Dimitri calls out from further within the lobby. He walks closer to them, noting that Valen seems a bit happier than he usually is.

"This is Rosa," Valen introduces. "She's the girl from Unova I told you about, but you already know her."

"That is correct," Dimitri admits. "She is a famous and popular girl."

"I want to achieve that same success here!" Rosa twirls, raising her left fist. "They can never win, but they sure can try!"

Dimitri sports a friendly smile. He turns to look at Rosa. "It is nice to meet you. My name is Dimitri Liniya," he politely states. "I am the President and CEO of the Liniya Corporation."

"Hiiii, it's nice to meet you too!" Rosa cheerfully proclaims. "If you're Valey's friend, then you're also my friend!"

"You are quite the cheerful and energetic girl, aren't you?"

"Tee-hee, that's right!" Rosa winsomely smiles.

"That is what they all say," Dimitri says.

"Oooooh, Valey should wear a outfit just like yours!" Rosa states, pointing at Dimitri's white Fantina Vuitton suit, his matching dress pants, and his dark red tie. "My knight needs to look dashing!"

"Your...knight?" Dimitri asks, staring and blinking. "Valen's your knight?"

"Yeeeep, Valey's my handsome, classy, and hunky knight!" Rosa proudly declares with her eyes closed. She blushes, squealing, "It was like a fairytale had come true for meeeee! He became my bestie, and now he's my bestie and sweetie!"

"He never mentioned that she's his girlfriend, but that's not surprising," Dimitri muses.

As Rosa gushes, she envisions herself as a queen, whom imaginary knight Valen is approaching via his Salamence. Imaginary knight Valen bows and kisses Rosa on her left hand, handing her a rose as imaginary queen Rosa swoons. "One day, I'll become his wife!" She envisions a fairytale book showing Knight Valen and Princess Rosa kissing after having just gotten married.

"Don't look at me, because I have no idea what she means by any of that." Valen counters. He turns away, his face slightly reddening. "Adorable pain in my ass."

"Ooooh, you want to do this the hard way, big boooy?" Rosa's eyelids flutter, provocatively smiling.

"Don't test your luck," Valen teases.

Rosa places a finger on her lower lip. "You know you can't defeat meeee."

"Actually, I can defeat you."

"Nooooooo, you can't."

"Yes, I can."

"In any case, shall we go up to my office to chat further?" Dimitri asks.

"Can Rosa come with me?"

"Yes, she can."

'Yay, I get to be a part of a special meeting!" Rosa cheers. "That means I'm special too! Yaaaay!"

Dimitri's brought Valen and Rosa to the top floor via the elevator. Rosa notes that the dark blue walls have various paintings and large photographs on them. She also notes the two gigantic, rectangular windows behind his wooden desk and his black, office chair.

"Valen, you should show our visitor from Unova the majestic Black Crown Stadium at some point."

"Will do, Dimitri," Valen replies. "If I can, that is."

"Black Crown Stadium?" Rosa asks.

"It is where our Pokémon League, the Calvanian Conference, is held annually," Dimitri explains. "It is one of Angel City's most famous landmarks."

"Hey, have you ever won the Calvanian Conference?" Rosa asks Valen, glancing to her right in his direction, eagerly awaiting a yes.

"Melanie's won it twice, but I never was good enough to win the Calvanian Conference," Valen replies. However, once you do get your invitation, it's a permanent invitation with no strings attached."

"I have gotten my invitation, though I do not recall if I ever entered," Dimitri chimes in. "Why did he just blatantly lie to her?"

"I asked where the gym is within Angel City, and it was sooooooo embarrassing afterwards!" Rosa cries out as her face reddens. "Oh my gosh, my face was redder than a Charmeleon's skin when someone told me there are no gyms here! Then, I remembered that I had forgotten!" Rosa cries out as her face reddens. "Valey, please make the embarrassment go away with a hug or a kiss! I prefer both, and I want to be hugged for long as reasonably possible!"

"What?" A dumbfounded Valen asks in a deadpan tone.

"She is the most jovial and energetic person that I have ever met," Dimitri amusingly notes with a friendly smile. "Your most recent reaction aside, even someone like you seems to liven up around her, Valen."

"Yep, things are way less boring when she's around," Valen admits, giving Rosa a faint smile.

"Tee-hee, I'm the anti-boredom and the anti-sadness girl!" Rosa reverts back to her usual demeanor, infectiously smiling while giving a peace sign with her right index finger and middle finger.

"In any case, part of the reason why we do not have any gyms here is tradition. This region has maintained the basis of its tournament structure since the year 1755," Dimitri explains. "In addition, Calvana is a massive region with both large, populated cities and remote areas where you could go over a day without running into anyone else."

"W-Woah, it's that old?!" Rosa exclaims. "The region's that massive?!"

"The tournament can be so difficult that some locals call it the Big Punisher, or Big Pun for short," Valen chimes in, fighting off the urge to drop his favorite joke a second time.

"Thanks for telling me this super cooooool information!" Rosa jumps up and down in excitement. "If I learned this before, then I forgot it!"

"It's the least we can do," Valen replies. "Also, chill. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to defeat you in battle again."

"Ooooh, you think you can defeat me a second time?"

"Heh, maybe I'll start to have fun more often."

"No maybe, mister!" Rosa glares at Valen, frustrated by his attitude. "You'll have lots of fun! Got it?! You're one of the main reasons I came here again, mister!"

"Yes, mother," Valen sarcastically responds with a faint smirk. "Should I pack clean underwear? How about a new toothbrush? Are you gonna tuck me in at night after reading me a bedtime story?"

"Hey, I already told you to be nice! I want sweetie Valey, not meanie Valey!" Rosa closes her eyes, her facing reddening.

Then, Valen hears a text message and takes out his phone to check it. Valen smiles when he sees that it's Melanie who texted him. "Oh hey, Melanie got bored and wants to meet up, and Arthur finally came out of hiding."

"I'll join you in a few minutes!" Rosa tells Valen as the latter walks towards the elevator, holding up his right hand to acknowledge Rosa's words.

Rosa approaches Dimitri, whispering, "Heeeeeey, can you please tell me more information about Valen? I have questions, and this guy isn't exactly that open anymore. Like, I don't even know if he lives in the same before, if he likes the same food as before, if he likes the same type of movies as before, if he's single, and if he still loves meeeeee."

After the elevator door closes, Rosa suddenly freaks out. "Oh nooooooo, what if my Valey really doesn't love me anymore?!" She shuts her eyes. "Nooooooooo, he's irreplaceable as my knight! He treats me like I'm the most special girl ever!"

"Yep, I thought so," Dimitri muses. "He's got a crush on her too, but he was trying to hide it."

"I also want to live abroad here, but don't tell Valey!" Rosa giggles. "I wanna surprise him!"

"That was a fast change in demeanor." Dimitri blinks.

"Hellooooo, wake up!"

"Very well, I shall answer all your questions," Dimitri replies with a friendly smile. "I shall also help you settle into this region."

"Yay, thanks!"

"However, may I ask you a question of my own?"

"Sure, go ahead!" Rosa happily replies, closing her eyes.

"How exactly do you view Valen?"

"Oh, that's an easy question!" Rosa giggles, her face reddening as she re-opens her eyes. "He's my boyfriend! I love him soooo much! Can you imagine if I actually became his wife?! Kyaaaaaaaaaa, marry me! Valey, marry meeeee!" She jumps up and down, her eyes sparkling like a magnificent gemstone.

"I had a feeling that is how you viewed him, but I wanted to ask you directly," Dimitri admits, faintly laughing over Rosa's demeanor. "Valen is certainly not a bad person to have as a friend, but he can be oblivious to people's feelings, including his own."

"Ooooh, so Valey's now a hard one to catch?!" Rosa giggles again. "Yaaaaay, it will be soooo much more fun this way!"

"I even had to force him to take a vacation." Dimitri sighs. "I have now extended until further notice for obvious reasons."

"Good, because he's not getting away from me." Rosa smirks, folding her arms. "I'll keep him on vacation."

"I have two more questions," Dimitri informs. "Has Valen been in touch with Hilda White or the BW Agency?"

"Well...no," Rosa admits, bowing her head. "Hilda's been really busy, and it's a long story."

"Has he been in touch with Team Skull Entertainment?"

"Sorry, but I haven't heard anything." Rosa sports a tight-lipped smile.

"I see." Dimitri folds his hands on his deck. "He is quite the mystery."

"I wish I knew the full story," Rosa admits. "I'm not faking being happy, but I want to cheer him up."

"You are a benevolent person," Dimitri commends.

"I believe in him." Rosa smiles. "Now, I'll ask my questions," she informs. "Is that okay with you?"

"Yes, ask away."

"Thanks, Dimitri."

Ask Rosa throws question after question towards Dimitri, the latter faintly smiles. As he answers her questions, he thinks that this is what Valen needs. He said it in a slightly joking manner, but he meant it when he said that he better not see Valen again in a while.

As for his second and third questions, Dimitri sees a huge business opportunity in partnering up with the BW Agency and Team Skull Entertainment. Furthermore, he feels that Valen would be better off with one of those two, but he's got a long way to go before he's ready for that.

"Good luck, Valen," Dimitri muses. "You are stronger than you realize, reaper."

Modernism architecture was prevalent for a good chunk of the 20th century, up until about WWII. The origins of modernism as an art movement/style itself dates back to the 19th century.
