At the Time Nest, Chronoa had explained everything she could to Kid Pan, and needless to say, the child did not take it so well.
"So...my mommy and daddy...they're dead?" Kid Pan asked, her eyes tearing up.
"I mean, not exactly..." Chronoa insisted, unsure how to explain. "They're just...not gonna be around too much, but-"
"Waaaaaaaah!" Kid Pan cried out. "They're dead! They're never gonna come back! Waaaah!"
Pan's heart ached, seeing a little girl this sad, younger self or not this was such a shame to see. Cabba also felt his heart strings tug, seeing a little girl cry was a lot to bear, having been no stranger to scenarios like this. His time in the Sadala Force has exposed him to tragic moments, such as seeing children become orphaned, and he has on occasion offered to help them fin new homes.
Chronoa was at a loss for words however, she was not a babysitter, and she wasn't particularly good with children. "Uh, but it's alright because...because..."
"Toki..." her pet owl said.
"Who asked you!" Chronoa shouted, before awkwardly turning back to the situation at hand. "Look I really don't know what else to say here, I mean she has a point, she may never see those parents of hers again."
This only made the situation worse as Kid Pan cried much louder, her face being drenched in tears as the warriors looked on with a broken heart.
"Ok what he hell lady!?" Pan shouted in annoyance.
"Pan!" Cabba scolded.
"I'm serious, why would she say that!? She's only making it worse!" Pan said, rubbing her kid self's head.
"I'm sorry Pan but the truth is all I can offer you right now," Chronoa said.
"Could have worded it differently," Pan replied. She turned the younger girl to face her. "It's alright, I'm here for you." Pan then brought her in for a hug. "We'll make everything better."
Kid Pan tried calming herself, but she still felt highly overwhelmed by the frustration and emotion. Pan lifted her up, hoping to give her more sense of security.
"I don't think I can ever forgive Sealas for this," Cabba said. "Bringing this much trauma to a sweet little girl. I will find him and to bring him to justice, no matter how long it takes."
"Not just him either, we gotta find Towa too, and her freakish abomination of a warrior," Pan said.
"I'm not sure when they'll strike again, but when that happens, I will let you know," Chronoa said. "I trust that you'll be ready for that moment."
"I'll be more than ready," Pan said, then focused her younger self's attention again. "Hear that? I'm going to get revenge for you, I'm gonna get those baddies and make them regret what they did to everyone you love."
"Uh, alright..." Kid Pan said, still feeling overwhelmed.
"Well, question now is, what do we do with this Pan?" Cabba asked. "She can't go back home unfortunately."
"We know that Cabba," Pan said. "But it's fine, because I'm going to take her home with me. Who better to take care of my kid self than me and my parents."
"Oh yeah, since your parents are alive they'll know how to take care of her," Cabba said. "Especially since they're somewhat her parents."
"Think you can explain this to them?" Chronoa asked.
"Of course, they know about what I do and they know about time travel," Pan said, then turned to her Kid self. "Do you want to live with me? I'll take care of you."
"I guess so?" Kid Pan said, still feeling a bit confused.
"I know you miss your parents, but since I'm you and you're coming to live with me, then that means you'll still get to see them, doesn't that sound great?" Pan asked.
"Mommy and daddy? I can still see them?" Kid Pan asked.
"Of course, you haven't completely lost them," Pans said. "You'll be like my little sister. Doesn't that sound great?"
"Y-yeah, it does," Kid Pan said, trying to sound excited but also feeling strangely nervous.
"Think she'll be alright with that?" Cabba asked. "I mean, not to be a downer but just because they're a version of her parents, won't necessarily mean it would be enough."
"He's right, Trunks has mentioned that while going back in time to see everyone who died in his timeline was great, it didn't fully erase the pain he felt," Chronoa said. "He still misses his Gohan, and he's seen other versions of him. This experience could potentially overwhelm your kid self, making her miss her parents even more."
"Maybe she can stay with me instead," Cabba suggested. "Just until she's ready."
"It's fine, better she stay with me since my family will know how to take care of her," Pan insisted.
"But I have room, I don't mind watching over her," Cabba insisted.
"Why don't you two ask Little Pan what she wants," Chronoa suggested.
"Yeah, good idea," Pan turned to her younger self that she still carried in her arms. "Do you have a preference?"
"Uh, well I would like to see my mommy and daddy again," Kid Pan said. "Even if it's not my same mommy and daddy"
"Sweet, then it's settled," Pan said, then turned to Cabba. "You can see her any time of course."
"Thanks for offering though mister," Kid Pan said to Cabba. "And I would like to see you again, you're really strong, think you can teach me how to fight? My grandpa used to but he just left somewhere and I don't know where he went."
Of course that reminded Pan of the day that Goku left, leaving her behind for many years, only for him to come back as a little boy, appearing younger than she was. "Yeah, I remember that day too."
"Oh yeah, you're me from the future, so does grandpa come back?" Kid Pan asked.
"Uh, yeah..." Pan answered. "For a little bit."
"Little bit? Did he leave again?" Kid Pan asked.
"Yes, he had to go somewhere," Pan said. "So I'm sorry but you won't see him where we're going."
"Oh...that's too bad," Kid Pan said. "I really miss grandpa."
"Well you'll still have mom and dad, and grandma and uncle Goten, also Trunks and Bulla," Pan explained.
"Bulla..." Kid Pan started wiping the tears from her eyes. "She's gone too."
"No please don't start crying again, I promise everything will be alright," Pan insisted. "We'll make it work! I swear!"
"Supreme Kai of Time, can't you do anything for her?" Cabba asked. "Like can't you adjust it so that she can be placed in her proper timeline again?"
"Sorry but I can only place her back in that same timeline, if I try putting her in a new timeline, it's just gonna result in her being with another version of herself," Chronoa explained. "One way or another she's going to co-exist with another form of herself, unless she goes to Trunks's timeline where she never existed, but that also means only having Trunks."
"Can't we go back to just before Towa destroyed the timeline and stop her?" Pan asked.
"You wouldn't be strong enough anyway," Chronoa said.
"What if we get strong enough?" Pan asked. "What if we get the power we need, could you do that then? Send us back just before Towa destroyed the timeline and prevent the destruction from happening?"
"Well, theoretically yes, it could send everything back to normal," Supreme Kai of Time said. "I can't make any promises but..."
"It's worth a try at least," Cabba said. "So that settles it, Pan and I will get strong enough to surpass Towa and set things right for this Pan."
The older Pan nuzzled the cheek on her kid self, "We're gonna get you back to your family, count on it."
"You mean it?" Kid Pan asked.
"Of course, I promise," Pan said, kissing her younger self on the cheek. "Anything for a girl as sweet as you are."
"This would be cuter if that wasn't just a smaller version of herself," Chronoa commented. "It honestly feels like narcissism."
"Well it's nice seeing Pan's more nurturing side, she has a talent when it comes to kids," Cabba said. "Even though the only other kids she got along well with were Gohan and Goten during our brief trips to the past, Trunks was the only one who got on her nerves."
"Speaking of Trunks, I should go find him and let him know of this situation, see what he makes of it," Chronoa said. "Pan, you're free to take yourself to your timeline, Cabba you can go with them if you want."
"I probably should, help explain it to her parents," Cabba said. "I just hope they're willing to take her in."
"In the event they can't, she's always welcome to stay with me," Cabba said. "She'd get some good training too since that's what she desires."
"Maybe we can even teach her Super Saiyan," Pan said. "You're never too early to transform."
"Super Saiyan? Like Grandpa, Papa, Uncle Goten, Trunks and Mr. Vegeta?" Kid Pan asked. "That reminds me, you two transformed too. I know why Big Me did, but how did that boy transform?"
"I'm a Saiyan, just like your grandfather," Cabba said.
"Wow, neat!" Kid Pan sad. "Can you tell me about yourself?"
"Oh I'd be happy too," Cabba said as he accompanied the two Pans back to the GT Timeline, leaving Chronoa to herself for a moment.
"This is quite the quandary, I hope there are no negative repercussions from this," Chronoa lamented. "Though knowing my luck, things are only going to get worse from here on out."
At the GT Timeline, Cabba was explaining a bit about himself to Kid Pan as promised as he and older Pan made their way to the door leading to her home.
"So I travel across the Galaxy and save people who need it, along with my team of Saiyan soldiers," Cabba explained.
"So you're like a Superhero," Kid Pan said. "That's so cool!"
Cabba sheepishly rubbed his head, "Not really, I'm just doing my part to help others. It's how I was brought up."
"Most of the Saiyans where he's from are really nice and save their Universe from many dangers," Pan added. "Cabba is one of the best in that field."
"I try to be at least," Cabba said.
"You don't have to be so humble, I kind of like a guy who can brag about his accomplishments," Pan said, then thought the statement over. "Well maybe not too much but just the right amount at least."
"Well bragging really isn't my strong suit," Cabba said.
"Opposite for me, but I suppose it's good that you're not one to brag, it makes you more approachable," Pan said as she opened up the door to her house. "Mom! Dad! I'm back!"
"Coming!" Came Videl's voice as she walked toward the doorway. "Oh, Cabba's here too, and..." Videl closely examined Kid Pan. "Uh...why are you holding a little girl?"
"It's a funny story, but let's just say we're gonna have a new little member to our family," Pan said.
Unfortunately Videl's reaction wasn't what Pan was hoping for, her face seemed quite blue. "N-new family...little girl..."
"Mom? Is everything alright?" Pan asked. "You're looking a little pale, did you eat something that didn't agree with you?"
"H-how did this happen? When did this happen!?" Videl asked.
"Technically years ago," Pan said.
"I hope this isn't too much of a shock ma'am," Cabba said. "Pan and I were not expecting this, but we're hoping we can make the best of it, and if Pan can't keep here were, I can take her back to my world."
"Uh-huh...please level something with me here, um, Pan, sweetie, that girl...is she yours?" Videl asked.
"Mine? Uh, I'd like her to be," Pan said. "I mean if I can take care of her with Cabba that'd be great."
"What I mean is...she isn't yours and Cabba's, is she?" Videl asked. "Like, he didn't...and you...were not doing things that only married couples do."
It took Pan a few minutes but she finally figured out what her mother was alluding too, and she was not pleased. "Mom! Obviously this isn't my child! I was only gone a day or so! Thats way too fast to be pregnant and have a baby, who isn't even a baby! She's like four years old!"
"Uh...right!" Videl said, feeling a bit stupid. "I mean, maybe since it's time travel, and so much can happen."
"Cabba did not get me pregnant, this kid is me from like several years ago," Pan explained.
"Wait, you thought I had se..." Cabba had to remember there was a little girl here. "Se...cretly married your daughter!?"
"I know, it sounds stupid, guess I overreacted," Videl said. "I mean Pan's so fond of you and she really likes talking about you..."
"Mom!" Pan shouted in embarrassment.
"Uh...it's mostly friend talk though! I mean no attraction whatsoever!" Videl said, hoping to cover for Pan.
"Come on mom!" Pan shouted, the cover up not working.
Videl shook her head, "I mean, of course she might like you, what's not to like, you're quite a handsome guy, if I were single I might consider-"
Pan grew irate, her face turning as red as a tomato at the shame she felt of her mother, "That's enough mom!"
"Uh, right, sorry dear," Videl nervously said, then held her arms out. "Here, why don't I take uh...the little you and see if she's hungry."
Pan took some deep breaths until her temper simmered, "Alright." She turned to her kid self, "Will you be alright going with mom?"
"Uh..." Kid Pan looked to Videl. Sure enough, it was her mother, but something felt different, like a feeling of familiarity, but also uncertainty. "Alright."
"Come on dear," Videl said, gently grabbing the younger girl into her arms. "Aw, I remember when you looked this young, you were always so adorable."
"Mom..." Pan said, once again embarrassed.
"Right, I've embarrassed you enough for one day," Videl sheepishly admitted, then walked off with the younger Pan. "Let's get you to the kitchen."
Pan groaned in frustration, never feeling this ashamed in her life, "Well that went wrong in different ways than I expected."
"I hope your mom doesn't feel too foolish," Cabba said.
'Uh, what about me? She thought we had a baby together!" Pan said. "I mean, time travel or not, there's no way I could have come back with a girl that age! It's not like we went into the Hyberbolic Time Chamber."
"The Hyberbolic what now?" Cabba asked.
"It's a magic room on Kami's Lookout where minutes to us is days in there," Pan said. "Like if you spent six months in there, only about half a day would pass out here."
"Wow, that's incredible!" Cabba said. "I wonder if The Supreme Kai of Time has something like that?"
"She might, if she can have a room where you can simulate old battles, I think she would have a Time Chamber," Pan said. "That reminds me, we really should make time to visit that room, I want to get stronger and fast."
"Yeah, same here," Cabba said. "We gotta defeat Towa somehow, if we can level up our strength, maybe we can rectify what happened to that Pan's timeline and get her back home."
"And keep the timelines safe in the process," Pan said. "Let's find time in the coming weeks to get some extra training in, be it my timeline, your timeline, or the time nest."
"Speaking of timelines, you think we should consider finding help from Gohan?" Cabba asked. "The kid version of him I mean."
"That might be a good idea, but I'm not sure if The Supreme Kai of Time will be too thrilled with that idea," Pan said. "Remember, she doesn't like him much since he created another timeline due to his carelessness."
"Even so it's worth a try, he's very powerful after all, and he has really strong allies in Seventeen and Eighteen," Cabba said.
"They would be good allies too, maybe we can even get the Goku from that world as well," Pan said. "He's gotten pretty strong over the years, probably is stronger than he was meant to be in his timeline."
"Speaking of potential allies, we could even ask Caulifla and Kale for assistance," Cabba suggested. "They would be eager to get strong and face off against powerful opponents, especially Caulilfla."
"Of course she would, but that is a good thing I suppose," Pan said. "There's also Bulla, she's gotten stronger over the last few weeks as well."
"Oh speaking of Bulla, think we should let her know about this little Pan?" Cabba asked.
"Oh yeah, wait til she gets a load of her," Pan said. "I just know she'll love her."
"Hey, how much potential do you think you had at that age? Like you think you could have gotten stronger?" Cabba asked.
"Totally, I bet if I trained my younger self, she can go Super Saiyan in no time," Pan said. "So when we bring her back to her own timeline she can go against Baby, Super Seventeen and Omega Shenron single handedly."
"Assuming they'll even show up, Supreme Kai of Time said the reason your timeline ended up being so different is because your Goku never met Beerus. She also mentioned a group of your dad's old enemies being vastly different as well.
"Even if those three don't show up, there might be other villains and she'll be greatly prepared," Pan said.
"Then it's a plan, we'll all train together, we'll get stronger together," Cabba said.
"And together we'll bring down Mira, Towa and Sealas," Pan said.
"Alright, let's make plans to meet up on my planet, tomorrow," Pan said. "I'll come back here, and we'll invite Bulla to my world, hopefully her father won't mind."
"If it's for training, then he'll more than likely encourage it," Pan said. "He's still trying to get her to go Super Saiyan, but she needs that push. Maybe Caulifla can help give her that push."
"You're willing to trust Caulifla to help with your younger self?" Cabba asked.
"She may be a pain but she knows her stuff," Pan said. "Of course you and I will be there to supervise and make sure she doesn't get carried away with anything."
"And knowing Kale, she would be willing to help with that as well," Cabba said. "Alright, it's a deal."
"Then it's settled," Pan said. "Oh by the way, wanna stay for dinner? I bet mom has something great planned."
"Sure, if she doesn't mind," Cabba said.
"She wouldn't, my mom seems to like you after all," Pan said., getting a quick blush from Cabba. "Let's hurry."
Cabba made his way into the kitchen with Pan, the dinner before the intense training that he and Pan would be giving to the younger girl.
Back in the Z timeline, Gohan was seen training with Zamasu, having gotten his ride to Universe 10. Gohan was currently sparring with the North Kai, trying to land a blow on his mentor, but it proved to be more difficult than he thought.
"Remember, focus less on strength and more on precision," Zamasu instructed, blocking the blows. "Power means nothing if you can't land the attack."
"Yes sir!" Gohan said, taking a step back to re-analyze his pattern. "Alright, gotta do this right!" Gohan moved in quicker to land a blow to Zamasu, which the Kai parried and karate chopped Gohan on the back, knocking him to the ground.
"Almost," Zamasu said, helping Gohan up. "You are making wonderful progress however, great work."
"Thank you sir," Gohan said, bowing to the Kai.
"My, this really is a surprise," came a voice.
The new arrival alerted Gohan, the boy then turned to see an older Kai, one he wasn't familiar with. "Huh? Who are you?"
"Gohan, that is a Kai, you know better than to address one so weakly," Zamasu scolded, freaking Gohan out.
"R-right, sorry!" Gohan said, bowing apologetically.
This just resulted in a laugh from the older Kai, "It's fine young one, I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Gowasu, Supreme Kai of Universe 10."
"Supreme Kai?" Gohan said, taking a better look. "Wow, I've never seen a Supreme Kai outside my Universe."
"You're quite lucky to have seen a Supreme Kai at all, not something most mortals can claim," Gowasu said.
"Yes, he is quite lucky indeed," came another voice. This came from the Destroyer God Rumshi. "He is a very privlaged mortal."
"Huh? Who's he?" Gohan wondered out loud.
"Gohan!" Zamasu scolded.
"Uh, right!" Gohan quickly bowed. "Pleased to meet you sir!"
"Go easy on the boy, he is just curious," Gowasu insisted.
"He's also quite adorable for a mortal," came the voice of a girl. Gohan looked to see the Angel Cus. "To answer your question, this is the God of Destruction for Universe 10, Lord Rumshi. I am his Angel Cus."
Gohan blushed at the sight of Cus, while this wasn't the first time he's seen her, he hadn't really interacted with her much. Granted the last Cus he saw was from a different timeline, this Cus wouldn't know who he was at all.
"Wow you're pretty," Gohan absent-mindedly said. This earned him a karate chop to the head from Zamasu.
"Do not be so blunt when talking to an Angel!" Zamasu shouted. "Have your manners left you entirely!?"
"Hey accidents happen!" Gohan shouted back. "Why don't you chill like Gowasu said!"
"It's Supreme Kai, Gohan! Use the manners you're suppose to be known for!" Zamasu scolded.
"Uh...should we come at a later time?" Gowasu asked.
Zamasu freaked and immediately rushed over to bow, "I apologize Lord Supreme Kai!"
"Gowasu is fine young one," the kai insisted.
"For the record, I did not mind the compliment," Cus said. "So thank you young Gohan."
Gohan sheepishly rubbed his head, "No problem Lady Cus."
Zamasu shook his head in shame, but he was genuinely curious as to the arrival of these three deities. "If I may ask sir, what brings you to my planet?"
"Curiousity about this child you're training," Gowasu said, gesturing to Gohan. "Before he came to your world, The Supreme Kai of Universe Seven had consulted with me beforehand, making sure it wouldn't be a problem. I was quite surprised when I heard a mortal from Universe Seven was interested in training with a Kai from this Universe."
"I found it incredibly suspicious," Rumshi said.
"Right..." Gowasu replied, then focused back on Zamasu and Gohan. "He told me that he was a very gifted child, second only to his father in power, as far as his planet goes."
"I wish I could claim that, but there might be at least one other being stronger than me on my planet," Gohan said.
"Still, to be as strong as you are, and I heard talk of your father defeating an evil Space Lord that had terrorized Universe Seven, he had even defeated Majin Buu," Gowasu said.
"I still can't believe a mere mortal could do that," Rumshi said. "What planet are you from young child?"
"Me? I'm from Earth," Gohan said. "But my dad is actually from a Planet called Vegeta."
"His father was sent to Earth as a youth where he would meet and mate with a female from Earth," Zamasu said. "Gohan is half Earthling, half Saiyan."
"A hybrid?" Rumshi said in surprise.
"Yes, that may explain his latent power," Zamasu said. "It is not uncommon for hybrid beings to surpass both races they are descendant from."
"I see then, so Gohan, is there a particular reason you sought out training from Zamasu?" Gowasu asked.
"Uh..." Gohan had to think of a valid reason, obviously telling them about Zamasu's treachery would not be an ideal move. "I just heard how talented he was as a Kai so I asked the Supreme Kai of my world if I could train with him."
"Hm, very well then," Gowasu said, seeming to believe Gohan's answer.
"My Zamasu, you ust be quite popular and very talented for a boy from Universe Seven to seek out your training," Cus said.
"I am quite amazed myself, I've never trained a mortal, but this one makes for a great student," Zamasu said.
"It's an honor to have Lord Zamasu train me as well, I feel myself getting stronger each day," Gohan said.
"You do seem to have a lot of latent potential," Cus said. "In time, perhaps you too can become a God of Destruction."
"Uh, not really my thing," Gohan said. "But I appreciate you thinking so highly of me."
"I agree that Gohan is too gentle of a soul to be a Destruction God," Zamasu said. "He may make for a great Supreme Kai. If he weren't already mortal."
"Yes, unlike a God of Destruction, a Supreme Kai cannot originate as a mortal being," Gowasu said. "But he does possess the gentle nature of a Supreme Kai."
"I already have a goal in life, to become a Great Scholar," Gohan said.
"Uh, a Great Scholar, what's that?" Rumshi asked.
"It means he wishes to pursue the highest education possible," Zamasu said. "He seeks to expand his knowledge."
"How admirable," Gowasu said.
"Thanks, it's something my mother has helped me with," Gohan said.
"His mother seeks his growth in education, his father seeks his growth in power, both very useful tools if used correctly," Zamasu said.
"Ah, a clever combination," Gowasu said. "Your parents have come up with a splendid idea."
"Actually my mom hates that I practice martial arts and my dad finds education to be boring," Gohan said.
"Oh, never mind then," Gowasu said. "Still, both go hand in hand very well."
"Which is why I believe he may very well surpass his father and become the strongest mortal," Zamasu said.
"Can I really?" Gohan asked.
"Of course, you're training with me after all," Zamasu said.
"Remember your humility Zamasu," Gowasu reminded, Zamasu immediately bowing in apology.
"Right, thank you sir," Zamasu said.
"Alright then boy, show me some of your fancy fighting," Rumshi said.
"Against you?" Gohan asked. "I don't think I'm ready to fight a God of Destruction."
"Of course you aren't, I meant against Zamasu," Rumshi said. "If I were to fight, I would probably destroy this planet with my sheer power, and I doubt neither you nor these two Kais would be able to withstand the sheer energy I put off."
"Wow...not very humble are you?" Gohan accidentally said out loud.
"GOHAN!" Zamasu scolded.
Back on Earth Videl was sparring with Eighteen while Goku observed from the sides, along with Seventeen, the male Android sipping some water.
"Videl's gotten pretty strong over the last few months," Goku said. "I can't wait to see how much more she can improve, especially with Eighteen training her."
"She's definitely got potential to go far," Seventeen commented, tossing the bottle away. "At least that's what Eighteen says, I don't read this potential thing very well."
"Eighteen isn't off, Videl has a gift," Goku said. "Plus she's kind of fun to have around, if she were a Saiyan, she'd probably be really strong."
"Maybe she is and we don't know it," Seventeen said. "Maybe a Saiyan came to Earth years ago, probably before you came here and Videl is the ancestor of that Saiyan."
"You really think so?" Goku asked.
"Hell if I know," Seventeen replied. "I'm just guessing, I could be way off though."
Videl stopped her spar a moment to look toward Goku and Seventeen, "Think we should get one of the boys in here?"
"No, leave them be," Eighteen said. "Goku's gonna get carried away and my brother really doesn't look like he gives a crap."
"You know, I've always wondered, which one of you is stronger? You or Seventeen?" Videl asked.
"Uh, I think we're equal in power, but we haven't tested in a while," Eighteen said, then called out to her brother. "Seventeen, you up for a spar soon?"
"What for?" Seventeen asked.
"Just to see which one of us is stronger," Eighteen explained.
"Huh? Everyone knows I'm stronger," Seventeen said. "I'm a martial arts prodigy."
"Oh that's bullshit, you weren't tough until you got those cybernetic enhancements," Eighteen said.
"Oh what the hell does that make you then!?" Seventeen asked.
"I remember being stronger than you when we were kids," Eighteen said. "Perks of being the older sister."
"By like two minutes, that doesn't make much of a difference sis," Seventeen said
"Of course, I was two minutes stronger than you," Eighteen said.
Seventeen raised his eyebrow, "What the hell kind of logic is that?"
"I don't think she's gonna stop until you agree to fight her," Goku said.
Seventeen groaned in annoyance, "Alright fine." The cyborg stood up, grumbling to himself. "What a waste of my freaking time."
Videl sat down beside Goku as the twins readied for battle. Within seconds, they rushed at each other, each one trying to overpower the other.
"Times like this I wish I could sense their energy," Goku said.
"I still can't really do that well," Videl said. "How long did it take you to pull that off?"
"I don't remember actually, but give it some time, some pick it up faster than others," Goku said. "So don't worry, believe it or not, you're very strong, I can feel a lot of power emanating from you."
"You really think I'm that strong?" Videl asked.
"You're almost as strong as I was when I was your age," Goku said. "And you got a much stronger teacher than I did back then. I mean Master Roshi to me was the strongest man in the world, now you have an Android who's like a hundred times stronger than he was."
"I've heard stories of Master Roshi, I think my dad wanted to train with him but he never could find where he lived," Videl said.
"He lives on an island, I don't think it's on a map," Goku said. "He is a hermit affter all, he likes his privacy, unless there's a pretty girl there."
"Pretty girl?" Videl asked.
"Roshi's strong, but he's a bit of a pervert, I mean I never got that whole thing with a girl's body but apparently it's really popular with guys," Goku said. "I mean I can almost understand, Chi-Chi's really pretty and I do like looking at her, I think that's how Roshi feels, just multiply it by a lot."
"So you're not into oogling girls, I respect that," Videl said.
"I don't know if Gohan does, Chi-Chi gets worried about him because he does stare at Eighteen sometimes," Goku said. "Guess he just finds her pretty as well."
"Well, he's not wrong," Videl said. "Eighteen is pretty, and I hope I can grow up to be as pretty as she is."
"Well you're pretty cute now, at least that's what Chi-Chi says, I think she wants you and Gohan to get married or something," Goku said.
Videl's face turned bright red, "Uh...married?"
"You know what that is right?" Goku asked.
"Pfft, yeah, of course," Videl awkwardly answered.
"Good, when I first heard about marriage, I thought it was a type of good," Goku said, laughing to himself as Videl just pitifully glared.
"You serious?" Videl asked. "Anyway I like Gohan but I don't want to marry him."
"That's too bad, is it because you want to marry someone else, or you just don't want to get married at all?" Goku asked.
"A little of the first one, I'd like to date him first before I get married," Goku said.
"Date? You mean like fighting?" Goku asked.
"Huh? No! Haven't you been on a date?" Videl asked.
"Once with Chi-Chi, she told me that on a date, a boy must do the most pleasurable thing with a girl, so I chose to fight her," Goku said.
Videl almost couldn't believe her ears, "Wow...You had such a weird upbringing."
The fight between the androids created some big shockwaves, ones that Chi-Chi heard, the woman immediately rushing out. "HEY! Keep it down you two!" This got their attention. "Goten is trying to sleep!"
"Guess we should call it a draw," Eighteen said.
"Lucky you, I was winning," Seventeen said.
"The hell are you talking about?" Eighteen asked. "I was winning!"
"In your dreams sis!" Seventeen said.
The two continued to argue as Chi-Chi groaned in annoyance, "Kids sometimes, always making so much noise."
"That's what makes life fun, huh Cheech?" Goku asked, chuckling to himself a bit, much to his wife's annoyance. Videl couldn't help but smirk, this is such an entertaining family to be around, she's had more fun here than she has back home, weird as everyone is, at least they're themselves.
A couple of days later on Planet Sadala in Cabba's timeline, Pan and Bulla had brought Kid Pan as promised, taking her to Caulifla's hut where she and Kale agreed to oversee the young girl's training.
"I still can't believe you brought over another Pan," Caulifla said. "Wow she's tiny."
"Well duh, she's me but younger," Pan said. "But just as adorable."
"Someone's full of herself," Caulifla teased, then focused on Kid Pan. "Alright squirt, how much do you know about fighting!?"
"I learned some moves from my grandpa," Kid Pan said.
"Did he teach you anything useful?" Caulifla asked.
"Uh, a little," Kid Pan said.
"Alright then," Caulifla walked over and got into a stance. "Show me!"
"Ok," Kid Pan got into a stance as well, then rushed in to attack, trying to land a punch on Caulifla.
"Not bad," the older girl said, effortlessly blocking the blows. "You got good speed, precision is almost on point, and you really pack some power in your punches and kicks."
Kid Pan went for another punch but Caulifla grabbed her fist and then kneed the young girl in the stomach, not too hard but hard enough to hurt. The young girl whimpered a bit as she held her stomach in pain, "Ow, that hurt!"
"Stop whining, you wanna be a fighter right? Get your ass in gear then," Caulifla berated.
"Caulifla! She's only a little girl!" Kale scolded.
"Eh, when I was her age I fought hard, you can ask my brother," Caulifla said. "She's part Saiyan, so she's gotta have that natural instinct!"
"I don't know if this was a good idea," Bulla said. "You were strong at that age Pan but you had your limits."
"I know it's harsh but I think Caulifla is the best one to train little me," Pan said.
"Alright kid, try attacking me again, and don't hold back!" Caulifla ordered, startling Kid Pan. "Now kid! Time is a valuable resource!"
"She could stand to be less of a bitch about it though," Pan commented.
"I heard that!" Caulifla said. "I'm coming for you next, once I kick your other self's tiny little ass!"
Kid Pan nervously backed away, "I changed my mind, I don't want to fight this girl! She's scary!"
Caulifla glared down at Kid Pan, striking fear into her eyes, "No one wussies out on me."
Kid Pan started to tear up, trembling at the knees at the sight of Caulifla. "Y-you wouldn't hurt a little girl would you?"
"Hell yeah I would," Caulifla said, sadistically grinning as she cracked her knuckles.
Kid Pan did the only thing she could do at that moment, "HELP!" She flew away and into the arms of her older self. "Keep her away from me! I don't want to fight her!"
"Hey! Get back here!" Caulifla shouted, charging a ki blast. "So help me I'm gonna-"
"Do NOT fire that blast this way!" Kale warned.
"Then tell her to get the fuck back over here!" Caulifla shouted.
"I'm having second thoughts about this," Pan said, holding her kid self tighter.
"I got this," Cabba said, cautiously making his way over to Caulifla. "Look, it's great you want to help, but Kale has a point, you're being way too aggressive, you gotta dial in back a bit. We want to train her, not traumatize her, keep in mind she grew up on Earth with Goku as her teacher, she's not used to this type of aggression."
"Someone's gotta get her used to it, no enemy is gonna take it easy on her," Caulifla said.
Pan turned to Bulla, "Take me a moment." She put Kid Pan in her friend's arms as she made her way over to Caulifla. "Look, I get your mindset, that's what papa told me he went through with Piccolo, he was very aggressive as a teacher and didn't take crap, but he also knew some limitations. Please, be tough but fair, can you do that?"
Caulifla groaned in annoyance, "Alright fine. I'll dial it back a little, but only a little!"
"That's fine, remember, motivation over fear," Pan said, then turned to Bulla. "Send me this way!"
"Come on kid," Bulla said, walking Kid Pan over, the young girl attempting to object.
"No-no-no-no-no!" Kid Pan shouted. "I don't want to be near her!"
"Come on, your dad had a tough teacher and he turned out fine," Bulla said. "Think of her as Piccolo."
"Piccolo isn't mean!" Kid Pan said.
"Hey, which one was Piccolo again?" Caulifla asked.
"The Namekian from Universe Seven, the one that fought Saunel and Pirina," Cabba reminded.
"Oh right, that guy's pretty awesome," Caulifla said.
"He is a master strategist, he nearly beat Frost during the Universe Six vs Universe Seven Tournament," Cabba explained.
"There's so much I need to hear about from you," Bulla said, placing Pan down. "Alright, good luck out there sweetie."
Kid Pan nodded and nervously turned back to Caulifla, the older girl still giving off an intimidating aura. "I'm ready."
"Clear out," Caulifla ordered to Cabba, Pan and Bulla, the three obeying as she got into a stance. "Bring it kid." Kid Pan again rushed in to attack, this time fighting in a more panicky style, which Caulifla immediately noticed. "Alright now you're being too sloppy."
Caulifla parried and elbowed Kid Pan in the stomach, knocking her back as she rushed in again to punch her to the ground.
"Ease up!" Cabba said.
"She's fine, I know how much I need to hold back," Caulifla reassured, looking down at a whimpering Kid Pan. "Come on, I know you have more fight than that."
"You can do it Pan!" the older one said. "Don't give up!"
"Show her what your grandpa taught you!" Bulla cheered.
"Go get her!" Kale cheered.
"We believe in you!" Cabba encouraged.
Kid Pan stood up to face Caulifla, trying to put on a brave face, "Alright, here I go again!" Kid Pan rushed to attack but Caulifla had blocked yet again and proceeded to headbutt the young girl, knocking her to the ground. "OW!"
"Get up!" Caulifla ordered, the young girl trying her best to stand. "Come on, attack me again!"
Kid Pan flew in for a punch, Caulifla choosing to dodge this time and kicked the young girl back, knocking her back to the floor.
"Pan!" Bulla shouted in worry.
"She's fine, she can do it," Cabba said. "Go Pan!"
Kid Pan stood up again, wiping some dirt off her face, "I gotta keep trying, I don't wanna let them down, but..." Kid Pan still felt the intimidation of the older girl. "She's so scary!"
"I'm coming after you!" Caulifla shouted flying in to attack, Kid Pan quickly blocking, but the blow still hurt her arms as she got knocked down. "Get up!"
This continued on for several minutes, Kid Pan trying to get a hit on Caulifla but failing and taking a punch or kick each time. The spectators had a hard time watching, especially Kale and Bulla, the two cringing each time Kid Pan got hurt.
The older Pan was worried for her kid self but she wanted to have some faith in her. It pained her a lot to see her younger self get hurt however. Even Cabba was a bit bothered by the amount of damage Kid Pan was racking up.
Caulifla went for another kick, once again knocking Kid Pan to the ground. The girl was badly bruised, her eye swollen shut, cuts on her face and her clothes were slightly torn. She really wanted to stop, she was hurting a lot and couldn't do this anymore.
"Come on, you still got some fight left in you!" Caulifla said. She took note of the younger girl's appearance, she clearly did not look to be in any condition to fight, but Caulifla figured she just needed one little push. "If you're feeling angry, then show it! Come over and fight me!"
Kid Pan stumbled over, running to attack Caulifla with a punch, but she tripped and fell on the way over, very much out of breath and unable to continue.
Feeling pity for the girl, Caulifla walked over and scooped her up in her arms, walking her over to Pan, "Alright, I can tell you're done." She presented the girl to her future self, "Here, take her."
Pan took her kid self in her arms, looking a bit bothered by the sight before her, "You really messed her up."
"She'll be fine, she's a Saiyan, if anything this is gonna make her stronger, and she can try again," Caulifla said.
"I...guess you have a point, but still," Pan said.
"She'll be fine, just take her inside and get her healed up," Caulifla said. "The rest of you help however you can."
"Sure thing," Kale said, going inside with everyone else, Caulifla following right afterwards.
"Caulifla, where's your bathroom?" Pan asked. "I want to clean my little self up.
"Right there," Caulifla said, gesturing to the location. "Need help?"
"I can help," Kale said, gesturing the two to follow. "Right this way."
Kale led Pan into the bathroom, the girl apprecaiting the gesture, "Thanks." She looked around the room, the plumbing looked rather arcaic "Not much of a bathroom, there isn't even a tub, just a seat."
"We have a hose for water at least," Kale said.
Pan sat her younger self down as she pulled off her shirt, "I don't suppose you have any spare clothes."
"None that would fit her very well," Caulifla said.
"Crap, I should have thought to bring some," Pan said, then remembered. "Wait, I might have some." She pulled out her capsules. "I hope I still have some of granpda's kid clothes here." Throwing the capsule, she revealed a huge clothing line, including the blue and yellow gi that Goku in her time wore. "Sweet, I came prepared!"
"That technology is so impressive," Kale said.
"Bulla's grandfather invented them," Pan said as she pulled her younger self's pants off. "They come in handy a lot on my planet."
"Something like that could benefit this world too, maybe I should talk to Cabba and Kale next time they go to Earth and see if they can ask about them," Kale said.
"You'd love them, they're lifesavers," Pan said, helping her younger self up, about to pull down her panties. "Can I take these off?"
Kid Pan looked to Kale, feeling a bit shy. The older girl took that as a cue to turn away, giving the younger girl some privacy as Pan completely took off her last piece of clothing. She lifted her younger self onto a eat and dumped some water on her.
"Cold!" Kid Pan cried.
"Sorry about that," Pan said, going down to start washing.
"I'll see you after you finish bathing her," Kale said, making her way outside.
"Alright," Pan said, cleaning off some dirt, and some of her younger self's blood. "You did great today Pan."
"No I didn't, I got beat up," Kid Pan said.
"You still did your best, and that's all that matters," Pan said. "I'm really proud of you."
"Uh, alright, thanks Pan," Kid Pan said as her older self continued washing off some dirt.
Outside the bathroom, Bulla looked a bit annoyed at Caulifla however. "You show no mercy when you fight, even my dad isn't that harsh of a teacher. Of course he's my dad so maybe he takes it easy on me but still."
"My parents didn't take it easy on me, your dad's just softer than I thought, at least in your timeline," Caulifla said. "Besides she's fine, just a little banged up and tired. Once Pan finishes bathing her, we'll let her rest a bit then get right back into it."
"Wait you have more planned?" Bulla asked. "She's like four or five years old."
"By that age a Saiyan is ready to fight," Caulifla said.
"She's only a quarter Saiyan though," Bulla said.
"Still a Saiyan, even if she's like mostly Earthing," Caulifla said. "But doesn't being a mixed breed help with potential? At least that's what I heard."
"That is a plausible theory," Cabba said. "Pan, both of them, have more potential than either of them realize. Caulifla's tactics are harsh but they are gonna get results."
"I always liked you Cabba," Caulifla said. "You get me."
"But Cabba, she was being harsh, even you were bothered," Bulla said. "Do you really want to bring her back?"
Cabba thought about his answer a moment, trying to come up with the best way to explain his beliefs, "Caulifla was harsh, maybe a little too harsh but, she could have been worse, and she knew when to stop. I think that deserves some credit. Plus she held back on her assertiveness when asked to."
"I'm not gonna aim to injure her or anything, if that's what you're worried about," Caulifla said. "I see potential in that girl, but she really needs to toughen up."
"It's gonna be a team effort," Cabba said. "We'll all take turns training her and helping each other train her. In addition, we'll also help each other improve in strength, so that the six of us can reach amazing potential."
"Which means sparring with me Princess," Caulifla taunted. "I'll whip you into shape better than your daddy would be able to."
"Don't underestimate me, I can fight a lot better than I did back on The Prison Planet," Bulla said.
"Good to know," Caulifla said. "We'll all get stronger together, so I can surpass all my rivals, especially Goku. With any luck I can finally reach Super Saiyan Blue, or 4, whichever comes first."
"Caulifa, we've been over this, no tail means we probably can't go to Super Saiyan 4," Cabba said.
"Hey it's worth a shot," Caulifla said. "Don't you want to try for it too Cabba?"
"Well, yeah, I'll reach whatever form I can," Cabba said. "I just need to get stronger, to defeat Mira, Towa and Sealas."
"Maybe we can help," Bulla suggested. "I bet your boss wouldn't mind the extra assistance."
"She probably wouldn't, which would be of big help to us," Cabba said. "I hope I can count on you."
"Of course, anything for you Cabba," Bulla said, winking to the boy, gaining a blush from him.
After some time, Pan had exited the bathroom, her younger self in her arms as she was fully dressed in her grandfather's old clothes. "She's done."
"Hey," Cabba said, walking over. "How are you feeling?"
"A little better," Kid Pan said, gesturing to her face. "But my left eye won't open yet."
"She's gonna need ice, give her to me," Kale said, taking the young girl in her arms. "I'll be right back."
As Kale left, Caulifla turned her attention to Pan, "Her training's gonna get harder, you alright with that?"
"Do what you have to, but I'll be here just in case you do get carried away," Pan said. "I'm gonna train to get stronger too, and I'll start by getting strong enough to defeat you Caulifla."
"A girl with a goal, I like that," Caulifla said, smirking towards Pan. "You know, sometimes you're just as impressive as Gohan, except with a little more attitude, kind of makes you alluring."
"Uh, thanks," Pan said. "You know, I kind of want to spar right now, wanna go?"
"Hell yeah," Caulifla said, making her way out the door. "Let's get to it!"
Pan followed closely behind, "Be back in a second."
"Try not to get your butt kicked too badly," Bulla teased.
"Wow, thanks for the confidence," Pan joked and made her way outside where Caulifla was waiting.
"Hm, kind of want to try that shower," Bulla said, then turned to Cabba. "Wanna join me?"
"Excue me!?" Cabba asked.
Bulla giggled as she stood up, "Just teasing, but if you ever do want to join, I won't say 'no'."
Cabba groaned in annoyance as Bulla made her way into the bathroom, "This is of course going to happen, I am constantly surrounded by females after all." Cabba then made his way outside, hoping to check on Caulifla and Pan to make sure neither went overboard.
Inside the bathroom, Bulla had stripped nude and and grabbed the hose, "Talk about primal." She began to hose her body, one she had been told bloomed much earlier than most Earthing girls, quirks of being half Saiyan. "Cabba's so nice, Pan better make her move, otherwise I might be tempted to. Maybe the little Pan can be their bridge toward romance, only time will tell." Bulla rubbed her body, thinking over her offer to Cabba. "Still, I really wish he did join me."
Elsewhere, Towa was gathering some more energy for Mira, getting closer and closer into creating the ultimate lifeform. "Soon even Cell won't have anything on my creation. Not much longer."
Her radio went off, "Towa, any sign of those two brats?"
"Not yet Sealas, but cause enough trouble, and they'll come right after you," Towa said.
"I will, once the perfect opportunity comes along," Sealas said. "I'll have my revenge on them soon."
"Oh I know you will," Towa said, placing the call away. "I have no doubt in my mind Sealas, go give them hell."
