Bonus Episode #7 – Rise from the Ashes: 7th Trial

Time: February 24, 3:12 PM

Location: Wright & Co. Law Offices

Man, what a mess this is getting Cassie, Phoenix, and Ema into now. Since Jake admits he took something to be like Bruce and he was killed in the evidences room on a different time 'and where Meekins was hurt and proven innocence'; was also shocking is Lana set up the false evidences from the SL-9 case to have Joe Drake found guilty! Even Edgeworth didn't know about the whole set up he would never do. On hold for tomorrow to finish the trial for them to find any more leads in Lana's innocence or she'll be found guilty for good. With Ema looking at something to aid them a bit more, both Phoenix and Cassie return back their working place to think things through a bit before heading out again.

Phoenix: Man...what's there to look up on?

Cassie: Hmm...Hey Phoenix, what about the folders on the desk? There's two of them.

There were two of the folder binders of blue and yellow on their desk to be a lead of some kind to look at right away. Seeing one of them with some paper work for Phoenix to look at and Cassie to write some of these things down on paper. It was a note from Lana Skye to have someone mail to them.

Phoenix: Lana?

Cassie: Let's see what it says.

They read it all...

[Lana: That was possibility the worse performance I've ever seen. I say you're the most guilty person you can ever hope for, both you and your girlfriend. Since there's no possible way you two can't win, these should at least bring out your curiosity. Sincerely, Lana.]

Oh, so it was the files and the paper work to be send for them by Lana's doing to trust in them. Not only that, another clue of a tip of the broken knife to be used from the SL-9 case in a baggie was also on the desk.

Phoenix: Lana send us all of this?

Cassie: Flies from the SL-9 case, and this broken tip...Ah! From the knife to be the murder weapon!

There was some hope after all. Does this mean Lana was finally coming around yet?

Phoenix: There's more on the note.

[Lana: P.S. To complete with your collection, Here's the final piece of the register evidences from the SL-9 case.]

And that's all it said to leave the rest to Phoenix and Cassie to take care of. It was time for Phoenix to seat at his desk and Cassie to get anything else to studying it on her end.

Phoenix: Well, let's get to work.

Cassie: Got it, Phoenix. We can get this murder mystery solved. (Lana, I feel like you believe in it us so far. Thanks.)

It takes a bit for the lovers to do so, but with a lot of work has them get somewhere throughout all of this – for Phoenix and Cassie that is in their team work. From reading it all little at a time to get somewhere with all of it took minutes to learn all about the SL-9 case from which Lana could gather for them. From one folder after another to get somewhere from it all real soon, from the works and paper to seeing photos too in getting some type of lead.

Phoenix: Cassie, look!

Cassie: Yeah, I see it too. (But what does this all mean?)

Phoenix: I think it means we can find out more about this with someone who's familiar with the rest. Let's go meet with him right away.

Getting his jacket, for Phoenix and Cassie know who to talk to next to see since this morning in trial on you know who...

Time: February 24, 6:23 PM

Location: Police Department - Entrance

With Jake back in the office to have a box to fill in it, I think he was going to leave the police department since he did commit a crime of stealing Bruce's wallet and assault in battery as well at Meekins.

Jake: I'll be out in a minute.

But it was just Phoenix and Cassie who came to see Jake was all and not any of the officers right now.

Phoenix: Take your time.

Cassie: Because it's only us. (I do feel bad for Jake to be leaving his post. But after what he did...Stealing Bruce's wallet and hurting Meekins, he should be happy he's not going to jail.)

As hard as it is on Jake, he'll take it better than prison. Not a bad person, but what he did were both still a crime.

Jake: I don't accept the same from you two, huh?

Phoenix: That's not why we're here.

Cassie: Far from it.

Yep, they discovered something else from the SL-9 case switch had Jake in it and why he took the one item from the case.

Phoenix: But I am sorry this had to happen.

Cassie: Me too...Other than you stop hitting on me, we understand how you really feel.

Jake: You can't stop once the wheel starts turning. You two would've found out anyways, and hitting on Missy here I couldn't help myself a little. But that last one's besides my point. Turns out, I'm not the master of cleverness as I thought I was either.

Phoenix: Then are you going to appeal?

Yeah, what will happen to Jake now once he leaves?

Jake: No point. They can't prove to them all, but with nothing can be said from that then there wouldn't be any evidences at all on that tape.

Besides seeing Jake again for him to learn a lesson, Cassie and Phoenix also learned of his reason from the SL-9 case.

Phoenix: I think we've found your motive. Cassie and I were reading the SL-9 case files.

Cassie: Thank Lana for having it mailed to us by the way.

Phoenix: And a name popped out of us. Neil Marshall?

Another Marshall? Oh, it was a late one to be related to Jake somehow.

Cassie: Any relation to you? (Somehow, he must've been Jake's brother. It has to be.)

Jake: He was my brother...My little brother. And he was a prosecutor...one of the best.

So Neil Marshall's not around another to be like what Lana and Damon once was when he was around. Do Jake and Angel have a connection to this whole thing then?

Phoenix: Hold on...! (I knew what Mr. Edgeworth said, but I didn't know it would come to this!0

Cassie: I think I saw a picture of Damon, Lana, and that guy must've been Neil.

And what Edgeworth said must've been true too. Remember what he said?

Edgeworth: I didn't touch the evidences to begin with. I'll do anything to win a trial, but it goes against my code to do something which could be illegal to do. And the person in charge of the case was deputy, Damon Gant. The most brilliant mind the police force. Believe me. No forgery was committed.

See? That's what he said to the two ever since yesterday.

Phoenix: So your brother was the prosecutor on the SL-9 case.

Cassie: No wonder why you stole something in the evidences room from it. (To go this far to find the answers from an unsolved case.)

Must've been hard for the one Joe Drake killed for this person to save someone and was sentence to death for it...was his last victim to be Neil himself.

Jake: I remember him tellin' he was doin' it for kicks, I was thrilled. And we never worked together before...I couldn't wait to see him in action. But I never got the chance.

Cassie: Why? What happened?

This sad story is told to hear all about it.

Jake: He was working late one night, questioning a suspect.

None other than Joe Drake himself.

Phoenix: Joe Drake.

Jake: He escaped during a interview. During the time there was him, Gant, Lana Skye, and some other woman.

Cassie: Woman?

Who could the other girl be during the time?

Jake: I'm ain't sure what happened to her, haven't see her in a two years afterwards but she was hard working like the others were, even me and my brother. When Drake escaped in the building to cause more trouble, Neil chased him...The report said there was a fight and Drake killed him. Sacrificing himself to save someone's life...

Phoenix: But you don't believe in the report, do you?

Seems like it was far from over to have Neil killed by Joe too easily. Something else must've happened during the time.

Cassie: Other woman...? (Could've been Damon's daughter during the time? So where is she today?)

So from Neil mysterious getting killed by Joe to end up killed by the law for it, and Damon's daughter is not around lately to also remain a big mystery.

Jake: Neil was one of the best fits fighters there ever was. No one can't get an upper hand on him. And there's more to it than that...The unknown facts from the evidences, to disregard them to get verdict on Drake right away; and after the case was over all of the detectives who worked on it were...taken care of. Except Goodman.

Really now...? For Phoenix and Cassie to hear all of them but Bruce were out of the case - must've been not just Jake but Angel too. No way...!

Cassie: And Bruce died for it. Damn...!

Phoenix: So why Goodman?

Must've been luck for he knew like Angel and Jake did about the entire mess.

Jake: From the time it did happened, it did give us any time to reopen the case but Goodman. And yet this whole mess may have gotten worse, which is also why we didn't get the whole picture during the case. But something else happened that night, something else was covered up.

Phoenix: You couldn't let that go.

Cassie: So you broke in and took the evidences. If anything, you're lucky the cops are letting you off like this.

Now the entire puzzle was coming together into one.

Jake: Actually, no.

Phoenix: Huh?

Cassie: Come again?

Jake: Have you both wonder why the glove got stuck in the door? Someone was there first.

I thought it was Jake's doing to easily have the locker door stayed opened. But nope, someone set the whole thing up before Jake and Meekins were in the room.

Cassie: And it wasn't you? Now this chances everything.

Jake: Well, it looks like they were a lot more careless than me. When I opened the locker, it was emptied. I mean without any evidences, then there will be no kicks, even from this guy's confession...I failed.

Well, far from it to their point of view.

Phoenix: Not really. Thanks to you, the SL-9 evidences that still remains is now part of this case. There's a good chance for us to know what really happen.

Cassie: We want to solve this case, Jake. Not only for this case, but also the SL-9 too.

Good words for Jake will leave the rest for them to solve, and to show them something else next.

Jake: See this? It was taken on the day he died. Two years and three days ago exactly.

Seeing a photo of Neil, Damon, and Lana on it to be the best of the three chief of prosecutor teams on the force.

Cassie: It's Lana, Damon, and Neil. Hey, Neil's holding a reward.

Seems like it to have a full sword with the shield too.

Jake: It was the night of the reward ceremony and he was given the King of Prosecutors trophy.

It was different than Edgeworth's trophy.

Phoenix: It still had the sword on it from back then.

Jake: He was the last person to receive a trophy like that one. And the next year was only a shield...I know it was just strange luck, but my brother was one of the best prosecutor throughout the entire day who has gotten a trophy like that one.

Cassie: I see... (So why did Lana changed? Was it because on what happened to Neil? Or the whereabouts of Damon's daughter?)

Gathering all of his things, Jake was leaving the office to say a few ore things next.

Jake: I'm thankful for your help, partner and missy, but I can't fix from my mistakes I've made to the court.

Still, Jake should watch this whole thing through to be allow to watch the whole trial.

Phoenix: Well, you should still come the trial tomorrow. Because a set up or not, it's your last chance to find out what really happened.

Cassie: And it's up to us to solve this murder case...Or rather, two murder cases.

I think this guy will reconsider to go and watch, finally he makes his leave to be there for tomorrow.

Jake: Good luck, Mr. Wright and Ms. Freeman.

Phoenix: Thank you, Jake.

Cassie: We'll win this for sure.

Off Jake goes to leave for Phoenix and Cassie still have along way to go, time to go meet up with Ema next. From down the hallways for them to walk down for the wait and more investigation to be done with right away before tomorrow's third and last trial.

Cassie: There's Ema. Now Phoenix, what do you want to say to her...

Enough to think things through, he was fine to work again.

Phoenix: Sorry.

Ema: It's fine, Mr. Wright. Just don't let it happen again.

Now back together to work for more research to be done, the next part is where to go to next.

Phoenix: Deal. So, what did you find Ema?

Ema: Nothing. The evidences room was clean up like a perfect whistle.

Cassie: Too much to clean things up if you ask me.

Phoenix: It's okay, I don't think it's our worrying anymore.

Ema: What do you mean?

Cassie: Ema, we got a lot to talk about.

A lot for her to hear so much about it next.

Phoenix: Lana pull some strings to give us the SL-9 files. While Cassie and I were reading them, it showed two names on there which caught our eyes.

Cassie: One of them was on the witness list. It was you, Ema. (Sad, but it's true to tell you about this.)

So that's another thing on the list...Meaning the one Joe try to kill on which Neil die to protect was Ema, who was there on that day. No way...

Ema: Me...? That's not right! Then what was the other name?

Phoenix: Neil Marshall.

Now she tries to remember on what happened on that day. Yeah, what happened with Ema from two years ago?

Ema: I was hoping to never hear that case again...I was in the other room where Neil Marshall was killed, it was the worse day of my life.

Cassie: So you were there during the event...I'm sorry, Ema.

She was going to tell them on what she does remember on that day.

Phoenix: I'm sorry too, but we need to know what happened.

Ema: I've been trying to forget this for two years. Please don't make me go back there. Cassie, say something.

Cassie: Again, I don't want you to remember it...But it's the only way. It's all for Lana's sake. Right Phoenix?

Phoenix: I'm afraid Cassie's right. Please Ema, we have to. Everything we read in those files were all SL-9 case is joined by another one, were all coming together into a bigger one in fact.

Two things to all be related on two murderers that is.

Ema: So what are you two trying to say?

Phoenix: Someone was so afraid of the SL-9 being reopened, that they committed murderer to stop it from happening. Which the evidences to show what really happened to that case must still existed. In other words...if we're going to crack this case, then we need to solve the SL-9.

Cassie: One other thing, Ema. Do you remember anything about Damon's daughter?

Hard to say anything about it at all.

Ema: Sorry but I didn't know her much back then.

She did try.

Cassie: It's fine. Then we can still find our answers for Lana's sake.

Going to do it all.

Ema: This better be for Lana. I wouldn't do this to satisfied with any of your curiosities.

Cassie: And it's not like curiosity won't kill a single cat for it.

Putting that silly joke aside...

Phoenix: I promise you that this is the only way.

Cassie: I agree with this too.

It was time to see the place where Neil was killed in on what Ema can remember about it.

Ema: Okay, come with me to the crime scene.

Phoenix: Then let us put all of this to rest.

Next stop was the place to also be where Lana, Neil 'when he was alive', and Damon all worked at a nice big office, as the three headed there next. It kind of sucks to have a place to work in still even after someone was killed in it.

Time: February 24

Location: Police Department-Chief's Office

Ema: It's in that office.

Using Bruce Goodman's ID card to getting inside 'to then giving it to the cops once the case is over with', has put some good use for them.

Phoenix: All right then. (Goodman's card should get us inside.)

Or so they thought...

Ema: That won't, Mr. Wright.

Stopping, is was then Ema tells them too soon.

Cassie: But I thought all of these things can open any door in this entire building.

Ema: That's because it only works for the top of the high ranking office.

Guess they will have to knock now.

Phoenix: Then I guess we'll just hope someone's in there.

Knocking on the door...

Cassie: Hello...? This is Cassie Freeman, Phoenix, and Ema. Anyone in the room.

Seems like it to open the door for them with the button, an automatic type of door. On the desk was Damon working hard on something, just staring at his paper work.

Gant: Oh, it's you two. And Casseily, good to see you again. A lot my daughter to be working harder than ever.

Cassie: Ah, thank you. (And still giving me names to remind you of someone we don't even know about yet.)

Phoenix: Chief Gant! (He sure seems busy a lot.)

Gant: Still, I didn't except visitors.

Somehow, this was more of investigation which needs to be done.

Phoenix: Sorry Chief, but I'm afraid this isn't social business.

Gant: A shame...Between you, this kid's sister, and Mr. Marshall, I could use a distraction.

It seems Lana had a lot to talk about to the other cops after today's outburst.

Ema: You mean Lana's outburst in court.

Gant: Three years had passed since that event went down. My, how time flies. And somehow the old SL-9 case has to resurface out nowhere.

Cassie: Ah...Sorry to hear, Damon. (Hmmm...A fallen glass photo frame of something? It shows Damon and his daughter-!)

Gant: Don't touch that!

Stopping for Cassie took a peek at it, she leaves it be to laugh about it instead.

Cassie: Sorry!

Gant: Hahahaha! No, no, I shouted for nothing. Sorry, I've been meaning the clean up my own mess today. But I've been so busy. The last thing I needed was for you to get hurt from the hands from the shard cut glasses, I got worried of your safety is all.

I think he did far from it there.

Phoenix: (More like you almost snapped at Cassie like it was nothing!)

Cassie: Okay then, no touching. (Damn! What was that just now?! I thought he was going to restrain me!)

Anyways, from a lot to be Damon's mind must be so much for him to bare. With Damon getting out of his desk to cleaning the photo frame to putting it away, all seem to be good so far.

Gant: Anyway...I've business elsewhere. Come one out with me while we talk on the way and such. Say what's on your minds.

Phoenix: Actually, sir. We were hoping to have a look around in here.

But will he allow for the three to have a look around? From the way Cassie felt out from the way Damon almost snapped, there might be a lead to all of this.

Gant: Oh? I wonder what for?

Phoenix: Because this was the murder scene from the SL-9 event.

Cassie: It just from the event from two years ago, we heard about the SL-9 case took place in this office.

He seem to be fine with it all to make sure. Weird...

Gant: That case is over. Lana may have stopped the event as she's in a sticky situation right now, but there's no need to investigate in this room.

They didn't think so, from Cassie's reaction to feel out Damon's lies.

Phoenix: Maybe...But we still want to have a look around.

Cassie: Minus not touching the broken photo frame this time. (He's lying, I can feel it.)

Saying so, this will be hard to make Damon say yes.

Gant: Perhaps you didn't hear me. I said there's no need to investigate here.

They had no other choice but to leave the room.

Phoenix: If you say so, sir.

Cassie: (We have to get back in the room somehow...) Sorry about that, Damon.

Gant: Good. Now come along, I have to lock up here. And there's no need to worry about it.

So much for looking in the room now, but there must've been another way, right...? There has to be a way for the three to do so and without Damon noticing.

Cassie: Wait, could you tell me about your daughter? Where is she?

Looking sad to tightening up his fits, he does answer this part honestly.

Gant: She...She sadly pass on after a car accident she had two years ago...

Kind of sad to remember losing someone close to you.

Phoenix: I'm sorry.

Ema: Me too.

Cassie: Neither of us didn't know...

For Damon to change from anger, sad, and now to be a bit too cheerful.

Gant: No, don't be. You had the right to know. She was the best of the best on the team, along with her old man, Neil Marshall, and Lana Skye. Ah yes, good times. If only what happened from the event Neil wasn't murder by Joe Drake, she would've lived longer. I say it was bad luck.

Another thing for Cassie to feel out for Damon was sad to be thinking about it.

Cassie: I doubt it was a curse.

Gant: It just happened is all...Did you know about of her and Neil were once a couple? I guess she got her working spirit by that silly man...Her name was Rose Gant. Only daughter I had and my wife left me because she cheated on another man. But...I moved on to work even harder today, and hopefully the same can be said about Lana.

Rose Gant was her name and Damon's only child, huh?

Phoenix: I'm sure you and your team are doing the best you can.

Cassie: Yeah, Rose would be proud of you today. (So that's why he kept on saying I look a lot like this Rose person.)

Seems like it. Walking down the hallways a bit more, Damon then makes his leave.

Gant: That's correct. Well, I did give you an answer to those results at least. Alright, I'm afraid this is where I have to leave you. I hope I helped out and good luck on your investigation.

Well, so much for that. And for Damon to say of Cassie looking like his daughter Rose, she sees now for the photo did look like her, but with red hair and a detective clothing. Weird...But for them to investigate the office now will be hard to get back inside.

Phoenix: Perfect. It could've been obvious he was hiding something from us, but we're unable to find out what it is.

Ema: But we do.

For her to say some good news, just how can they get back in there?

Cassie: What do you mean, Ema.

Phoenix: What...?

Please tell us more...

Ema: When you tried to open the door, I remembered that those locks were the same as in the evidences room. When we went in and spotted the sensor, I stuck a rubber glove on top of it. Just in case we needed to get back in.

Using the rubber glove from the SL-9 case of the items, it seems to work for Ema to place between the door was a clever move to do.

Cassie: No way! (Clever Ema.)

Phoenix: But...! That's brilliant!

Hugging Ema a little for her hard work, and Cassie hugs her even more.

Cassie: Nicely done!

Phoenix: Come on! We got work to do!

Then him hugging Cassie a lot more, the three headed back to investigate quickly in Damon's office to get to work. It was still unlocked to go inside with the glove returning back in Phoenix's hand to hiding it.

Cassie: Well, it worked.

Ema: So what we're looking for?

Anything from old blood traces left out, fingerprints, and any other clues left behind.

Phoenix: Well...I think we can look for any hidden evidences which wasn't use in court of the SL-9 Incident.

Cassie: Yeah, and we all know if it's all true then it's a big crime that Damon has done.

Seems to be true, so they might as well have look around.

Ema: From two years ago? It's unlikely.

Phoenix: It's must've been cleaned out from top to bottom since then.

Cassie: Then some items were hidden somewhere. Like the little locker over there, look.

Pointing it out for the three to see it, as Phoenix has a closer look.

Phoenix: Say Ema, don't you suppose there's a trick to getting it to open do you?

Only Damon and Lana can open it maybe.

Ema: Let me see.

Cassie: I hope you can get it to open up, Ema. Good luck.

Anything's possible with some luck on there side.

Ema: Hmmm...I'm afraid not, it's too strong to break into if we tried. I'm going to need the seven digit code.

Phoenix: Seven?

Looking around some more to figure out what it is, they walk toward another empty desk next.

Ema: This must be Lana's desk.

Cassie: For her and Damon to work really hard from this room, even after a murder took place.

With Ema looking at the desk, she remembers of the night of the SL-9 case. It was a night time for her to be sleeping and waiting for Lana in the room...That's when it happened, Joe runs in to the room to try to murder Ema next with his knife for it to be thunder and lighting outside.

Ema: This is where it happened.

Cassie: From two years ago, right?

Phoenix: Tell us what happened.

And so, Ema finally does in her words and flashback on how everything went down.

Ema: No matter how much I tried, I still wouldn't forget on what happened that night. I was waiting for Lana to finish work and I fell asleep. There was a storm outside that I slept through it; I was awaken in darkness from a very loud thunderbolt which the storm must've cut off of the power of the building. Suddenly, a man burst right into the office, at first I didn't know who he was. I believe he caught my eye and then I realize he was carrying a knife, he didn't notice me at first. But when lighting strike, he spotted me for I was terrified. And when he came at me with him holding the knife, I saw another shadow near the door way. It was Neil Marshall. He recognize Drake's hand, and seeing me in danger to run in to save my life for they were fighting in total darkness and that's where lighting stroke again. I was so terrified, I've passed out. The police department wanted for me to testify, but I was too traumatized. So I drew on what I remember seeing it. But...it was no help.

From Ema sleeping from the storm, Joe running away, and making his way to the office to try murdering her next. From Ema hiding near Lana's desk, Neil arrives to save the day...Or so Ema thought at first. For Neil to fight against Joe to give it their all for Ema couldn't see until another lighting stroke down again. Ema did try to draw it the best she could to still have nothing out of it.

Cassie: It's dumb. I mean, for you to help them out to still be all for nothing. Now that's rude.

Phoenix: I can see why Lana wanted that conviction so badly.

Cassie: She was really worry about your safety. I can't say I blame neither of you.

Then what happened?

Ema: Once it was all over, I decided to become a science investigator to help out Lana.

Phoenix: That's what puzzles me...Why did Lana had a desk at the police department?

For her to work in two different jobs from back then for her.

Ema: Because she use to be a detective to be one the highest rank in the department. She shared this office with Chief Gant, even though he was the deputy chief from back then. Lana transfer in the prosecutor's office came to her with the luck of success after the SL-9 Incident. Plus Chief Gant's influence to find any way out of any type of mess, with the snap of his fingers. Is that important?

Cassie: Sure sounds like it. I mean who knew Lana would be in the big leagues, that something else.

But it was plenty to get some information from Ema on what she does remember so far.

Phoenix: Maybe.

Ema: Back in the day, Lana and Gant were working as partners. They've solved so many cases, for them to work in this office together.

I guess Lana and Damon always got the job done to solve any crimes, their team work was almost too perfect in the name of the law. Seeing another photo of Lana, Damon, Neil, and this time with Rose in this one.

Cassie: The three of the teams. Lana, Damon, Neil, and...ROSE!? Was in this photo?

Ema: I only remember her a little. This photo must've been taken back then.

Phoenix: Jake Marshall has the same photo, but...

Cassie: This one has Rose in it.

From Jake showing the first one, and now this one with one more person in it.

Phoenix: Ema, you said this was taken before his brother did. Correct?

Cassie: And this was when Rose was still alive too?

Seems like it for this was the last thing Neil did before he was murdered.

Ema: That trophy seems to be a lot like what Mr. Edgeworth has in his office.

Cassie: But Neil's was different...Ah, it's a lot to explain about it to you.

Ema: I understand.

Having her camera out, Ema takes a picture of the photo frame as evidences to have on them. Soon, Phoenix goes back to the locker to remember of the seven digit code might be.

Phoenix: Wait...I got an idea on what the code might be.

Cassie: Alright! Then let's get it to open up.

Phoenix: If I'm right, it all means something terrible.

Cassie: Then you can put in...The many seven code numbers!

Yep, the one from up stop of the charts of the many 7777777 has to be it, and belonging to Damon Gant himself. Putting the numbers in, it worked.

Ema and Phoenix: It worked!

Cassie: *BINGO!* Who would've thought it would be lucky seven to get us what we needed.

With it unlocked, it was time to open up to see what they can get from any evidences they can gather. What they found is papers of evidence listing.

Phoenix: This is a evidence list.

Ema: What case is it for?

Seeing it up close to be the SL-9 itself.

Cassie: Hey...The SL-9 case!

Phoenix: Which do you think?

Seeing the paper to have these things down on it -

[SL-9K / Fragment of Pottery

SL-9L / Torn Brown Fabric

SL-9M / Fingerprints

SL-9N / Photograph

SL-9O / Blood Traces

SL-9P / Ornamental Sword]

Five things on there, was it use at the court from two years ago or hidden away?

Cassie: Called it!

Phoenix: But one thing is strange though...We picked up a bit from the SL-9 in the past few days. But none of it appeared on this list.

But wait, there was more in the safe.

Ema: Wait a minute, there's something else in here.

Cassie: And what is it?

It was some cut out lever of some type of item.

Ema: This one has fingerprints.

Phoenix: Really?

Seeing it carefully, it looks like there are some on there.

Cassie: It isn't hard to see it up close.

Ema: Yeah, there really was one left on here.

Cassie: But why was this put away in a safe? It must've been an important clue.

Seeing it more carefully...

Ema: The index finger seems to be the clearest one on this item. Somehow, the back of the print is showing off some fade out on the rest. Maybe I can bring it to the science department.

Phoenix: Ah...Yeah, of course. (Why do I get the feeling that there's more to this?) Here, Ema.

Ema: Everything okay?

Cassie: (Yeah, I feel it too. I sense something on Phoenix that he knows of something else.)

Yeah, something was on his mind, big time.

Phoenix: Oh yeah, I'm fine. (I guess I can't fool with Cassie to feel it out.) We better get going now. We don't want nu-stayed our welcome.

Just then, Phoenix spoke to soon for the door to slam opened for someone else to come in. None other than Damon who doesn't look angry.

Cassie: Ah! Damon!

Looking mad for Phoenix and Cassie could tell that Damon was hiding something very big.

Gant: Ahem...Get out. If you three know what's right.

Cassie: Sorry about this.

About to leave...He stops only one person.

Gant: Just you two, Wright and Cassie.

Phoenix: I don't think that's a good idea, sir.

Cassie: What do you want with Ema?

Taking some paper out of Cassie's hands, Damon just rips it up.

Gant: So sorry, Cassie, but it's nothing personal.

Cassie: Hey! (He can't do that!)

You wrote down garbage to not work for you. But what I want with the kid is my business alone.

Ema: It's okay, I'll catch up to you two. Just go.

Gant: Unless you want your boyfriend to be force out by security, Cassie, I be wise to just walk out of this room right now.

And so, the two leave for Damon wanted to talk to Ema about something alone 'but she'll be fine'.

Cassie: Fine, we're leaving. Ema, see you in court tomorrow. We will find our answers real soon. Stay strong!

Well this wasn't good at all. With Phoenix and Cassie getting some of the things written down an memorized, Cassie's other information to be written down were sadly gone by Damon's doing. Now what? Phoenix takes this the hardest more than Cassie to worry so much on what's about the happen next?

Phoenix: This can't be the end...!

Cassie: Phoenix...Wait, it isn't. Look. We got the lever piece and the paper. We might have a chance left, with one more person to question next.

Seeing them to get out and closed the locker before Damon's return, there might be their last shot left.

Phoenix: And your work?

Cassie: Damon may had destroyed it, but I can talk about it through my head in my memories. You show the evidences and I'll explain the rest.

Phoenix: You're so cute when you explain so much! Okay, then let's go see her.

Cassie: To the detention center next.

And they do so for Lana has to tell them now, before Damon forces Ema to do or say something tomorrow in court.

Time: February 24

Location: Detention Center-Visitor's Room

Arriving there for Lana sees the two again the visitor's room to have a long talk, for Phoenix and Cassie needed every information they can get out of her.

Lana: This is unexpected.

Phoenix: Yes, from the three of us.

Cassie: Please sit down, Lana. We need to talk.

But will she say anything at all...?

Lana: So why are you two here?

Phoenix: To finally get the truth from you.

Lana: But I already told you-!

Slamming the table and hitting the walls for Cassie to do 'and scaring an officer to leave the room', this was serious now.

Cassie: Listen, Lana, we're sick and tired of things being hidden! No more! Ema's being questioned by Damon as a speak! If you don't do this for us, fine! Then do this for her! NOW START TALKING!

Phoenix: Cassie, Lana gets it now. Relax...

Cassie: Sorry...But yes, Lana tell us on what you can say.

Phoenix: I have to agree with her, Lana! What you told us was nothing! All you've been doing is hiding from your guilt.

Yeah she has, because someone was forcing Lana to do all of this mess in the first place.

Lana: That's all you two need to know to re-presence me.

Phoenix: Well Ema said something interesting in court today.

Cassie: And can any one of us forget what it was, you know?

A lot to explain to Lana again. Remember in court from earlier today...?

Ema: When Lana stabbed Goodman, he was already dead.

See? She did say it.

Phoenix: What she said makes sense.

Cassie: How? Well, when the body has stopped living once someone murder Bruce, the blood goes completely cold for the blood to come flowing out very easily.

Sometimes a body can do so to leave out cold, dead, and the blood to come out of it easily.

Phoenix: And that still leaves the question on why?

From there, Lana was amazed on their work to summit defeat.

Lana: Very well, Mr Wright. And Cassie, nicely little anger speech there. You still won. Still, prove to me that I'm innocent.

Phoenix: First, we want to hear what happened in the parking lot on that day.

Lana: As you all well know, I forge evidences from two years ago. Goodman was suspecting some strange things about the case still, and it had to be stopped.

Cassie: It was really that bad?

Sure seems like it for Lana was telling them everything she does know about 'so far'.

Phoenix: Now that much is true. That was the reason why behind Goodman's death, but that was someone else's motive.

Lana: And who might that be?

Who? Well, someone that Lana was working for.

Cassie: I think you already who it is, Lana, don't you? (It's all coming together now...)

Phoenix: Someone despite being sneaky and very good at using others who also worked on the SL-9, was also in charge of making the entire forgery...Damon Gant.

Yep, it was no doubt that man himself.

Lana: There's no way! Not only you two are accusing the chief of police, but I was the one who covered for his crime and I'm also facing murder charges on his behave. Why would I do that for him?

Cassie: Well maybe not for him, but for someone more important to you. Who almost a lot more than anything else in the world.

Getting the piece of lever out for Phoenix shows it to Lana to know what it was right away. Her attitude changes once she sees it, now they have Lana now.

Lana: Where did you two get this?!

Phoenix: I thought you would recognize it once we show it to you. We got this in the safe in Gant's office. It would've seem unimportant until we discovered there were fingerprints on there, with one of them to seem very familiar. You see...When me, Cassie, and Ema investigate the evidences room; she tested her fingerprint on herself on one of the locker doors. And then hand the texting to me, which I still kept it in my pocket.

Cassie: You almost forgotten about it, Phoenix, but it came in handy somehow.

Yep it did, meaning one of the fingerprint on there belongs to Ema on the piece of cut up lever.

Phoenix: And that's not until...we found this clothe. Her fingerprint matches the index finger on this clothe, perfectly.

Cassie: *GOT YOU NOW!* See? From the lever and this left over testing of the fingerprint all matches, just by looking at it very carefully.

This has Lana trying to change the subject again.

Lana: None of you...! You two don't understand anything.

Phoenix: Maybe not...But we understand from that clothe, whatever it leads to that can mean a lot trouble on Ema, and you were willing to do anything to keep it locked away.

Cassie: Even if submitting to be framed for murder!

Now they've uncovered everything so far.

Lana: Well as the late Marshall says...you two do a fine job. Mr. Wright and Ms. Freeman, all to go through in order to find the truth.

Staring at each other with Lana and Cassie with Phoenix as back up, it was time to get down the real business this time.

Phoenix: We're listening...

Cassie: Lana, tell us everything you know in your own words. Please?

And now she tells them everything.

Lana: Without going into too much details...That clothe means that I had to do what Chief Gant tells me to do for him; that day he informed me by saying the body was in the room.

From Joe was found to look like he murdered Neil for saving Ema's life, there was a more towards this.

Phoenix: I knew there was a reason on what happened after the SL-9 event went down.

Lana: I've been living like a rule book for the past two years...I don't even have the heart to smile anymore, in other words I'm not safe.

That sucks for Lana has been force to work for Damon for two years now.

Cassie: Maybe so, Lana. But Ema knows you're no killer. Same goes for the two of us too. (I mean, I knew I sense something from Lana's heart.)

Phoenix: And we think that the rest of the world should know about it too.

They could with one more problem from it all.

Lana: Ah yes, but there's only one problem. I'm pleading guilty

Phoenix: But with the clothe, Gant doesn't have any control over you anymore.

Lana: Chief Gant goes far beyond to making up evidences, with some fake ones. And as long as he walks free, we have nothing to prove in Chief Gant's guilt.

Giving up so soon?

Cassie: Why's that? We go the evidences.

Phoenix: Please, Lana! We left Ema with Gant! She can still be with him.

Cassie: We came here to hope to have anything on Damon to finally take him down!

But this doesn't seem to bother Lana there one bit either.

Lana: Don't worry, Gant won't hurt Ema. Not even lift a finger on her just as long as I follow his orders. Regards from your respects, going against Gant's orders is dangerous and extreme.

Phoenix: And letting him win will only be both cowardliness and extreme!

Cassie: And what else can we do?! Sit around and watch someone like you suffer in jail forever? No!

Lana: I think we'll have to agree or disagree. Guard, you may show Mr. Wright and Ms. Freeman the way out.

Calling out for the officer to come back, time was up now.

Cassie: I guess the rest is up to us then. Later, Lana. (We did all we could to get something out of her.)

Heading out now, for Phoenix and Cassie returned to their apartment to sleep until the trial the next morning. Heading back to the office before doing so, the two lovers see a letter left by Ema to be fine. What does it say on there...?

Phoenix: It's from Ema. Oh thank god!

Cassie: Let's see what it says.

Hopefully it'll be something important.

Ema: I'm okay. Gant only asked me on a few questions about our investigation, and then let me go. He doesn't have a clue that we broke into his safe yet. By the way, I finish fixing up the broken jar with one final piece from it...

Cassie: Hey! She's right, Phoenix. Look! On the table. (Another evidence piece from the SL-9 case!)

Shows on the desk, the jar was fully back and glued on right t he way Ema said in the note, and more to read about next.

Ema: ...It fitted together perfectly. You two can see the rest for yourselves, I left it on your desk. Sign, Ema. P.S. I hope you can take the piece of lever clothe to the lab as soon as you can.

And that was it. With Phoenix and Cassie looking at the jar very carefully,

Cassie: We probably should before heading home, okay Phoenix?

The next things Phoenix does was getting out his cell phone to call someone with it.

Phoenix: (We will, but first...) Hello? This is Phoenix Wright. I need your help.

At this point, they're going to need al of the help they can get.

Cassie: Oh! Good thinking, Phoenix. (Whatever happens next, we need to do everything we can. And for me to aid for the man I'm in love with.)

Phoenix: (Cassie, we can end this nightmare together.)

And they will too for someone to aid them and check on the fingerprints on the jar. For whatever happens next, will finally save Lana's life to aid Ema from Damon's doing from the whole SL-9 case and this other one of Bruce's death. Who will help them out? Whose fingerprints was on the jar now fully back together? And can all of this be solved on the third and final day of the trial? Hopefully so to get their answers. Phoenix and Cassie can solve not one but two cases for good.
