'"Miller I need to talk to you." said D to Kaz.

Apart from the silent woman, they were alone.

"You wil die in Alaska, 2005. Watch out. Ocelot or Liquid wil get to your home to kill you."

Kaz looked D and asked.

"Who is Liquid?"

D explained.

"Liquid Snake. One of the Enfants Terrible. Big Boss's Sons."

Kaz nodded and thanked him.

D asked.

"Kaz, can I have one of your special burgers? I know they are delicious!'

Kaz agreed.

D and Quiet went to the chopper.

Venom Snake was already waiting them.

This time, the chopper departed to Africa instead of Afghanistan.

D explained the situation of the place while Venom listened carefully.

"We will reach the leaking Mfinda oilfield. You will find the result of the usage of Cypher new weapon there."

The chopper was flying by the polluted river.

They reached the LZ, jumped in the water and proceeded.

D was the pointman.

They reached the Bwala ya Masa village.

It was the typical African fishermen's village near a river. There was even a derelict ship on the shore of the village.

Quiet tried to reach her rifle, but D gave her a non-lethal Mosin Nagant.

"There are child soldiers there." whispered D.

Kaz called for saying that he approved the gesture.

After neutralizing the CFA soldiers presiding the outpost, they moved to the oilfield.

D stopped Venom and started pointing.

"First you need to stop the oil leakage with a machine there and then destroy that thing with C-4. Remember to detonate only when I wil tell you."

Venom proceeded with the infiltration.

He did as D said, and after he activated the machine, he saw the water mixed with oil lowering and revealing corpses with exposed lungs.

Venom was shocked but knew that D would tell him about the weapon later.

The team went to the extraction point, and D told Venom that was safe to detonate.

CFA mercs were alerted by the explosion and quickly came as reinforcement to the forces in the oilfield.

But the trio kept hidden until the chopper came.

On board of the helicopter, D told Venom.

"Cypher's weapon to surpass the Metal Gear is a weapon designed to kill based on languages. Is a parasite that infest the vocal cords, causing damages to the lungs when hear the targeted language. What you saw are the test subjects. Probably of the Kikongo strain."

Kaz called the team.

"What are Skull Face's plans about the weapon?"

D replied.

"You will suspect that Cypher plan is a complete English language egemony. Wrong. Skull Face's plan is to wipe out English as lingua franca."

Ocelot remarked.

"D I hate to admit that but you deserved your Quiet."

D ignored him.

"But is not over. Not yet."

He took a moment to imitate Liquid's iconic gesture before resuming.

"We need to eliminate some CFA's Walker Gears stored in Ditadi Village. This will prompt them to contact Cypher, which would give them a truck in Nova Braga Airport that will be transporting malachite and yellowcake uranium. That cargo cannot fall in their hands."

The chopper landed on Mother Base's helipad, and D quickly went to claim his prize.

Kaz escorted him and Quiet to a small room with a table in the middle.

On the table there was a dish with a burger on it.

D sat down and grabbed the hamburger.

D looked Quiet.

"Sorry, I would give you a piece but since you can't eat..."

Quiet made a gesture of "no problem".

D gave a huge bite to the burger.

"Delicious! Kobe beef! I can't believe George will not like them."

Kazuhira asked who was the George that D mentioned.

"Oh, we will meet him soon. He will help us with the help of Wolbachia. He will like the blue burger."

He received confused stares by both Miller and Quiet.

D ate the burger with humming of approval.

After he finished eating, he thanked Kaz and went to a shower before getting back to the chopper.

D was sitting in front of Quiet.

He was thinking about the missions. He didn't tell them about the Viscount mission.

Nevermind, he was a small fish anyway.

Better skip that. His priority was to get to the next step of his plan as soon as possible.

D smiled at the mute woman, but she kept a serious expression.

The team saw the burned down village from the chopper.

Snake and D jumped off the helicopter and began their mission.

Quiet was checking on them with her rifle's scope.

She was checking Venom, and then was about to shift to D.

With her other eye, she saw D doing a weird thing with a strange device on a Walker Gear.

It was like it was scanning it.

Shortly after a small flash, the Walker Gear was disappeared.

D procedeed to Fulton the other Gears.

The mission ended without a shot being fired.

After the usual visit to Mother Base, they went back to Angola.

This time the destination was Nova Braga airport.

Quiet and D took their positions.

Venom reached the door near the truck.

The Skull jumped out of the truck, feeling the presence of Venom.

Snake remained hidden.

While Quiet had her now iconic VSK, D was holding a Barrett M107A1.

D aimed at one the Skull in the head.

It was a perfect shot.

Then tried to shot again but...

Missed.

Even if he was using Exacto ammo, his hands were shaking.

He took some Diazepam while Quiet was making a more succesful shot.

After all the Skulls were eliminated, Venom fultoned the truck.

Same routine as before.

D looked Quiet, admiring her beauty.

She streched in a suggestive manner.

D felt his eyes closing.

D shaked himself.

He could not afford to sleep.

He needed to always keep an eye on Quiet.

He drank a Redbull and opened the helicopter sliding door, threw the can in the sea.

D explained the mission.

"The Mbele general asked Diamond Dogs to kill some of his soldiers. One is Bampeve Plantation. The others are taken hostage in Kugenga Mine. But they are kids."

Kaz commented with the radio.

"We can't kill them. They need to be taken to Mother Base."

"So we will do." replied D.

Jumping out the helicopter was now normal and unexciting.

For D, the missions were now just a day in the office.

The Mbele soldier was located in a building in the plantation.

As soon as he got outside, Quiet shot him in the head.

The team was now heading to the mine.

D put a gas mask and gave one to Quiet.

Venom asked why the masks where needed.

"The Kikongo strain. Is in the childs."

Quiet understood.

It will help me keep my secret.

Venom took a gas mask too and put it on his face.

D leaded Venom to the kid's locations.

Venom knew that D's intel were always right but he was surprised anyway.

Venom lowered the rifle that was pointing at the kids and opened the cell door.

The kids gave the hidden diamonds to Venom.

The team escorted the kids to the safety of the chopper, eliminating the enemies between them and the extraction point.

Snake and D helped the kids to get on the helo.

Sitting down on his usual place, D stared Quiet.

She stil looked pretty even with gas mask.

D was pretty sure that Quiet was smiling, even if the gas mask didn't allowed to see it.

Venom asked D.

"You said the Parasite infest the vocal cords, but you also you said that Quiet don't have her vocal cords anymore... why the mask?"

Quiet stared Venom, while D replied.

"The Parasite could still end up in her throath or her lungs. She could still become a carrier. Is the same reasons we need to put these kids in quarantine and sterilize their stuff. Don't worry, I have already told Miller to build a Quaratine platform."

D was feeling like he could collapse at any moment.

He took some Redbulls. One for himself and the other for the kids that drank it happily.

D drank his own with a special feature of his mask.

The trip felt longer this time.

After countless hours, they reached Mother Base.

After getting off the chopper, Snake and D proceeded to the sterilization of their equipment and a decontamination shower.

The kids stayed in the chopper, that was flying towards the Quarantine platform.

Quiet watched D showering, behind a glass panel while D kept an eye of her.

After wearing a new uniform, D escorted Quiet to her cell.
