(What the fuck?)
This bystander vocalizes what everyone is thinking. As the police car holding Yang drives off toward the police station, everyone is now trying to comprehend what has just happened. Many of them begin to help the gift shop owner out, making sure he and his employees are safe, but there's not much they can do about the whole "fire" thing...
*WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO*
But the fire department can! They come out running, setting up the hoses and quenching the blaze in record time. But the blonde has caused so much damage with her shots that it is already too late. The store is a total loss. The only things that survived are some Mao memorabilia (of course), and a few trinkets and coins that were in the bottom left corner, the only one to escape the blaze.
"...*sigh* 为什么是我?" (Why me?)
(Good thing you have insurance! The Chinese Government will get this place back up and running in no time!)
A new voice interrupts the conversation, and this one's got some mad reachability…
所以明,在此店发生了什么?(This is Luo Jing for Xinwen Lianbo, and I am at the gift shop that was the unlucky target of the "Yellow Bomber", as she is currently known. We are just entering the shop now to get an interview with the owner of the place, Yao Ming. So Ming, what happened in this shop?)
(She walked into the shop, and I realized that this is the girl I had heard about earlier harassing the meat market a bit down the street, you know, Jin's? After she walked in I alerted the police and after they showed up and tried to corner her, she shot fire out of some thing on her arm and… *sniff* it destroyed the shop.)
(Why did you call the police on this girl in the first place?)
(The police had warned us to look out for her in this part of town. I'm surprised they knew she would be coming here.)
你一定会得到一大堆善意的这一个!(Well it is definitely a lucky coincidence, and in part thanks to you, this attacker has been subdued. You're sure gonna get a whole lot of goodwill for this one!)
(heh… I guess that's one silver lining...)
(Indeed it is, I'm Luo Jing, now back to the news!)
The other anchor of the show, Xing Zhibin, is ready to take over.
(Thank you Luo, this sure is a tragedy. Very soon this woman will be brought to justice. But for now, we must move on to other news, and for that we move to a helicopter pilot currently following the reclamation of Diaoyu from occupying Japanese forces…)

ˉˉˉˉˉˉ
The police car screeches to a stop after five torturous miles of nothing but engine noise and the occasional fleeting yell of some people outside the car. She is led out by two guards on either side, each holding one shoulder. She does not want to move, but a clear disregard by the officers combined with the annoying sound of dragging boots lead her to stay in lockstep. One long walk later, she is staring the face of a jail cell, with no windows, outside light, or even a toilet. All there is the dark browns of the bed frame, and the muted greys of the bars and off-whites of the mattress. And, of course, the bright yellow blonde stuck in the very center of the room, serving as a sort of sun illuminating the whole room and giving it a very unique feeling.
She's got a few hours to play with before they get around to interrogation, but there's really nothing to do in a jail cell. That is, assuming they bothered to strip her of everything first. There's no way they would screw that up, right?
One look at the Xiao Long playing one of the few offline scroll games that work disproves that theory. The officers did only the bare minimum of stripping. She could have carried a gun, hell her arms are guns! But they were smart enough to remove those, gratefully for both their own safety and the structural integrity of this prison. But all she's got to distract her now is the generic scroll game that has been around almost since the dawn of man.
*beep beep boop beep! Beep boop*
She lays over the end of the bed like a disinterested college student, thumbing around as she has for the past three hours. There are some imprints of punches that were tried to break the walls, but concrete is simply too hard of a material to be broken that easily. One menacing shadow dims out the little light that makes it through the bars, catching her eye. She watches as the man unlocks the cell and walks inside only around 2 feet before standing at attention.
(Prisoner! Come with me! It is time for your interrogation!)
Yang's face turns into one of pure disgust as she slowly puts her scroll away and walks over to the guard, making sure to stretch it out as long as possible.
急急!(With haste!) The officer points down the hall.
She sighs and walks only slightly faster, stomping down the hall with more power than even a colonel in the army. After two minutes of walking, the guard finally decides to break the monotony.
右转!(Turn right!) The order is followed. More walking.
She comes across a room with a single chair inside it. She stops at this room, the guard pushing past her with reckless abandon. He goes on the other side of the chair.
坐!(Well?! Sit!) Yang already knew to sit in the chair of course, but she is so out of it that she would rather just stand around. But, to avoid another yell, she sits in the chair.
Two more officers walk in behind him, but unlike last time, neither stay behind at the door, instead joining the other officer at the front, making this interrogation a 3 on 1 battle. The officer on the left, the one who speaks English, begins to lead.
"What is your name?"
"*mumble mumble*"
"Speak Up!"
"Yang Xiao Long."
"Yang Xiao Long, huh? Tell us miss "Yang", why did you feel the need to damage the gift shop the way you did?"
"It's not my fault! It was the police! They came and harassed me!"
"And you had to shoot at them?"
"They wanted me taken out!"
"That is preposterous! They would have done nothing to you if you had just submitted willingly!"
"You really think I was just gonna submit to some weirdos with guns?!"
"Do you know nothing? I was told that you were not a native, but your complete lack of decorum is one of the most idiotic things I have ever seen!"
Yang's hair is lit up almost instantly, and she's looking for something to take it out on. The three officers stare at her, just daring her to make a move. Without gauntlets, even Yang can't win a 3 on 1.
So she punches the desk instead. The sound reverberates throughout the room in no time flat.
"You truly are foolish. Throw her back in the jail!"
The other two begin to approach her, with the third giving her a quick staredown, hand locked on his weapon, ready to fire.
As they approach, she remains frozen as her mind wrestles with what to do. One part is screaming at her to punch them, while the other is screaming at her to surrender to avoid further trouble. And potential beatings…
They draw closer, with the blonde still completely motionless. Their hands grab out to take her back to the dark room, ready to trap her in there for who knows how long, and god knows what's gonna ha-
停!(Halt!)
The two officers suddenly freeze as if they were turned into stone. Yang turns around only to see yet another officer.
(I am taking her! Someone in the high command has taken special interest in this one.)
The other two officers immediately retreat, giving their superior a quick, undisturbed path to his target.
He marches up to around one foot away, and sticks his hand out.
"Come with me, miss."
She stares at him as if the officer is some impossible figure that can not exist at the present moment.
He sees her confusion and leans in to try to help her.
"I swear on my life that I am not here to hurt you. Please, miss, let me lead you."
He grabs her hand, nudging her along with the gentlest of pulls. She looks around at everyone's face, to see that his is the only one that is neither annoyed nor threatening.
"Ugggh! Fine!" Yang lets herself be lead out of the room and back down the long, dark hallway.
Not one of the officers follow to guard behind her. After a while of walking, they stop at a special red door. He uses his free hand to grab a walkie-talkie.
(Permission to enter the Chairman's quarters?)
About 10 seconds of silence passes.
(Permission granted.)
The sound of a deadbolt being shifted echoes throughout both sides of the room. With a heavy sigh, the officer pulls the door open.️
️
Inside is some senior members of the 13th Politiburo. Deng is not there, but others are, of which none of them remember or even had access to the proceedings from two decades ago.
(This is the girl?)
(She's yellow, isn't she? Hard not to pick this one out of a crowd.)
(Hehe! I suppose you aren't wrong.)
(Why did you pick this one? I know she is an odd specimen, but how can she be this important?)
(As soon as she was briefed about this, her face shined more brightly than the North Star. I wasn't told why.)
(Well, if she wants her, she wants her…)
The conversationalist, Li Peng, gets out of their path and gracefully shows the way.
(Right this way, you two!)
The most juxtaposed of pairings make their way down, this time walking only a short path before reaching a door. The official takes his keychain out and finds the biggest key, the one with a yellow star on it… But before it is opened, the official quickly briefs her on the situation.
"Alright. A very special person has requested to meet you. What happens in this room is up to her and her alone. If she decides you to be a nuisance, you will be exited and thrown in jail for treason in addition to the crimes you have already committed. Consider this your absolute final chance at a decent life. I sincerely hope you do not waste it."
And with that, Yang is shoved into the room, and the door shuts on her in one fluid motion. The room is returned to an ominous silence as the footsteps of the officer, the only connection left to the outside, slowly fade away.
"Hello, miss… Yang? That is your name?"
She turns toward the source of the voice, and her brain freezes.
LOL cliffhanger. The next part is May/Mao and Yang getting to know each other and stuff.
