"Hi Mom, Bob." Sue said as she and Jack came home later that evening.
"Hi, honey." Carla replied, smiling as Bob had his arm around her. "Come, sit." She said, waving towards the living room couches, wriggling from Bob's embrace.
"Is something wrong?" Sue worriedly asked, following her.
"No, no, of course not." She replied, shaking her head.
"Then what is it?" Jack asked, sitting next to Sue, seeing the nervousness between the couple.
"We decided we're going to go to Arizona for two weeks, visit my friend's estate, get perspective on our wedding plans." Bob explained.
"And that's it?" Sue asked.
"Yeah, that's it." Carla replied, confused at her reaction.
Sue laughed, releasing pressure. "I thought it was something much, much worse!"
Carla smiled, happy they were taking it so well. "Well, good! We're going to leave next week."
"That's fine by us. You both enjoy yourselves!" Jack replied.
Bob and Carla looked at each other and smiled. "Oh yes, we will. I know we will." He replied.
?-?
"Got the results back from the car." Sarah announced the next afternoon.
"And?" Jack anticipatedly asked. They were at a dead end, since there was no chatter anywhere they could find on the internet, the streets, nothing that specified anything that Kevin was back, let alone what he was planning.
"And the whole car was wiped down before Krissy got in."
"Oh." Bobby sadly replied.
"All except the inside of the trunk compartment." She added, smiling widely through her mask.
"Oh?" Bobby replied, his tone hopeful.
"It was only one, and a partial at that, but there was enough to confirm it was Kevin's fingerprint. It was definitely his car." She explained.
"That's the best news I've heard all day!" Jack exclaimed.
"But how do we use that to find him?" Myles reasoned.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Jack replied, his bubble burst.
"Sarah, was there anything else they found?"" Bobby asked, hoping to bring the spirits in the room up again.
"Uh, yeah." Sarah replied, scanning through the sheet of paper she was reading from. "A small piece of ripped paper that was underneath the driver's seat. They think it could be a partial address."
"What's it say?" Jack asked, hopeful.
Sarah walked over to his desk, typed a few things in his computer, and brought up the picture of the scrap.
"Oh no." He said quietly when he saw the picture, his eyes wide. Immediately, he got up, grabbed his coat, and ran out of the room.
"What just happened?" Sarah asked, shocked, staring after Jack, who had since disappeared through the door.
"What on earth is on that paper?" Bobby asked getting up, surprised by the reaction of his friend. "Oh." He said as he leaned over to see what was on the computer screen. Immediately, he quickly grabbed his coat, and ran out the door as well.
"What is going on here!" Sarah exclaimed, stomping her foot in frustration.
?-?
"Oh dear." Sue said when she read the text from Jack.
Tara waved for her attention. "What is it?"
"I, I've got to go. I'll be back in a bit." She replied, quickly getting up and leaving the room.
"SUE GO-TO WHERE?" Shane asked, seeing her leave.
Tara frowned and shook her head. "DON'T KNOW."
"EVERYTHING OK?" Amy asked.
"HOPE." Tara replied, worriedly looking after where she disappeared.
?-?
"Hey." Sue said as she walked up to Jack's car that was sitting in her driveway as she was finishing buttoning up her coat.
Distracted by the scenario, Jack distractedly waved in reply.
"Everything will be all right, you'll see."
"I hope you're right. I just have this gut feeling, you know? Like it's not alright, like he's not alright." He replied as they sat still in the car for a few moments.
Sue chuckled. "Hey, that's a woman's task, to trust her intuition."
He smiled at her. "Yeah, well, men have it too, we just tend to ignore it."
"Have you tried calling?" She asked.
"Yeah. No answer. That can't be a good sign."
"Maybe he just forgot his phone in the charger, or it's on vibrate, or something." She reasoned.
"Yeah." He whispered.
They both sat in silence a few minutes, thinking. "Ready to see if they're alright?" Sue asked quietly.
Jack sat in the driver's seat unresponsive for a few seconds, then slowly nodded. "Yes, I think it's time." With that, he put the car into reverse, backed out of the driveway, and they were off.
