A/N - Early chapter again with some more David content ❤
Wreck up the place they did and they did it well. At first it had been them ordering an exorbitant amount of food with rather dubiously obtained cash David kept in his pockets. Marie had never felt so sugared up and full- so full that Marko had to hold her hair as she felt her body heaving and coughing up all sorts of nasty that mixed in her stomach. Spells didn't do much for nausea but Dwayne did, insisting that they take the party someplace quiet.
Even then that was a lot more complicated than it was. Paul had ended up running from the boardwalk security brandishing a stuffed toy and a flying middle finger.
"What did you steal this time?" Marko laughed as Paul mounted his bike. For vampires that didn't sweat, he sure looked riled. Marie hadn't seen him in his apparent prime but she couldn't help but imagine.
"Needed little mister for my collection!"
Marie laughed, barely audible over the revving engines. The security guard had most definitely spotted them. She made eye contact and saw conflict in his eyes. The very definition of, "I don't get paid enough for this." But she also saw a flicker of disgust in those exhausted eyes.
"You sure gave him a workout. Hope it was worth it." Marko clapped the blonde on the back, an amused grin still on his face. There was no doubt they were incorrigible... But then again so was she. The slightest bit of confusion dissipating and she matched his smile before blowing a mock kiss at the security guard.
Then they were taking off. It wasn't like they really worried about getting caught because there were other ways to deal with it, but it just seemed as if they got off on the rush. Wild locks and gleeful whoops and hollers echoed into the night as they drove, and Marie found herself allowing herself to relax. She was in safe hands.
Her head fell softly against the harsh leather of Dwayne's jacket. Her mind sought peace and peace was staring at the world around them as they drove. Unconsciously her fingers holding tight around his bare abdomen tightened. She felt content enough to drift off into la la land, and in doing so she missed how Dwayne slowed down ever so slightly before correcting his speed. Road signs blurred past.
The boys had decided to drop her off back home which was a surprise to her. The same almost deserted streets she recognized came into focus as did the familiar feeling that she was close to home. She was nudged gently as they came to a stop.
"This is your stop, hope you don't mind." Dwayne let Marie break from the cloud over her mind. Her arms soon retreated from his abdomen, eyes blinking lazily as she processed it. They were cutting their night short and they still managed to evade when she asked about their side of the deal.
"I do!" Paul teased half heartedly. The penguin he had stolen was wedged between his thighs. A playful salute was shot her way as she carefully climbed off. It was clear they were either about to go feed from the restless vibes she was getting from them. Patting Dwayne on the shoulder, she rested her feet on the grassy pathway and bid them a good night much to there enthusiasm. As she turned around to make her way to the porch, David's hand had caught hers and there was that all too familiar tingle.
Marie realized he wasn't wearing his gloves tonight.
"We'll see you tomorrow?" He asked.
The implication was there, they wanted to see her again but business wasn't mentioned. Marie wasn't sure what to think but she hadn't sensed any malicious intentions from them... at least since she came across the two bloodied and distraught vampires.
Marie actually had a good time with them, more than she thought she would. People of any kind always felt strange to be around with her. Always the introverted type but she found herself feeling differently when they were around. With that she nodded, "7 o'clock."
Before she decided, "Perhaps at mine, this time around?"
There were some oohs from the others and David responded, "Are you inviting?"
Marie hummed, a smirk creeping up on her face. She knew what he was implying. That they could come and go with the implied invitation which might be a risk or would be if it were anyone else unlucky enough to be their food source. It was her home, her sanctuary and even if she became the second option, basic spells were put in place that would keep her safe.
Marie had grown fond of the cave but not fond enough to want to brave the slight chill that echoed throughout it.
"Come back tomorrow and you'll get your answer, pretty boy."
David smirked at that, eyes twinkling as he responded, "Promise?" David's cool eyes flickered down at her lips. He wasn't even trying to hide what he wanted an it made her nervous. Still, he remained cool despite his hand playing with hers. Marie was unsure if she liked it or that she felt the nerves bubble in her stomach. Now as she caught his tongue slightly poke out to run across his bottom lip, she was still unsure.
And like that, Marie was leaning in slowly. Placing a tentative kiss on his cool lips, she felt another little tingle before a hand slid into her locks and pulled her into him. Her hand clutched his shoulder as David deepened the kiss. It was... making her feel hot all over and she stopped herself when she felt his fangs poke at her. Her fear of becoming a meal came back to her when she felt the sharp scrape. Luckily it was not enough to draw blood but it didn't exactly feel good.
Pulling back she was met with a kiss to her knuckles and amused stares. There was a teasing hint of gold in his gaze.
"I'll take that as a yes." David let go of her hand and revved his engine. He was taking off and down the pretty much deserted path. Marko gave her a teasing wave and Paul blew her a kiss as they rode past. Then there was Dwayne, he nodded at her and his lingering stare was more curious than it usually was.
