Adalind woke with a pleasantly sore body and a smile. The grimm had given the hexenbiest quite the workout the night before. Her entire being still thrummed from all of their activities.

"Morning beautiful." Nick greeted as he brought in two cups of coffee.

"Morning sexy." She greeted back with a smile.

As she sipped at her coffee, Nick took the opportunity to admire her. He was beyond thrilled to finally get to call her his.

Again

Grimm

Renard was becoming suspicious.

He had not heard a word from Adalind in over a week. Each time he tried to get in touch with her about how her seduction of the grimm, Nick Burkhardt was going, all Sean got was Adalind's voicemail.

He was slightly concerned that Nick wasn't over his ex.

If that was the case, then that would make it very difficult for Adalind to gain Nick's interest and trust.

Sean paid attention to Nick's behavior.

He didn't seem to be pinning over his ex. In fact, he seemed in a very good mood. There was always a large smile on his face and a bounce to his step.

That is when Renard got suspicious about just how things were really going between the grimm and the hexenbiest.

It wasn't a zaubertrank. Nick's behavior seemed to calm for that.

Whatever was going on between Nick and Adalind was happening without the use of magic.

And with the fact that Adalind seemed to be ignoring him, Sean suspected that the grimm was the one to seduce the hexenbiest.

If that were the case, Sean feared he had just lost a pawn in the game of power. And with that meant the grimm could have knowledge, and therefore the upper hand.

Nick could not be easily manipulated if he had knowledge of what was going on. Sean has wanted Nick lost and confused, so he would be grateful for any help Sean would give him. But Nick proved himself to be much more resourceful than Sean had given him credit for.

Underestimating the grimm had been a bad move on his part and he had lost a valuable piece because of it.

He felt his only step was to show concern as a boss and a friend.

The first thing he needed to do was reveal to Nick that he knew he was a grimm and admit to being wesen.

It was the only way to try to convince Nick it was unwise of him to date a hexenbiest.

Grimm

Nick didn't even bother showing surprise when Renard revealed himself to be wesen.

Renard thought that Nick knew because Adalind had told him.

Nick was not going to correct his assumption.

"Nick, I've known Adalind nearly her whole life. Her family and mine have interacted with one another for literal centuries. The women in the Schade family are as devious as they are beautiful. It is not wise to trust them. And it is especially unwise to expect them to love you."

Renard may be showing concern and looking out for Nick's best interests. But Nick knew the only person Renard was looking out for was himself. And that he was trying to place doubts about Adalind in Nick's head.

The royal bastard didn't know that Nick knew first hand how happy he could be with Adalind. And how much of a liar the royal bastard could be.

"You're a grimm. She's a hexenbiest. Just what kind of life do the two of you think you can have?"

"A pretty good one, actually."

"I know you, Nick, you want kids. Do you really think Adalind would make a good mother?"

"When Adalind loves, she loves with her whole being. You know that."

"But a grimm and a hexenbiest making babies. It's impossible."

"Somehow I doubt that."

Renard finally realized there was nothing he could say that would make Nick believe the worst of Adalind. And it was obvious the more he was talking the less Nick believed him.

Grimm

Upon returning to his desk, Nick messaged Adalind.

"Renard just tried to warn me away from you. He said you weren't the kind of woman I could be happy with."

The message showed it had been read but there was no reply until a few minutes later, as a series of pictures.

Adalind was obviously in her office. The first image showed her with her fingers on the top button of her blouse. The second showed the first button loose and her fingers on the second.

Nick took that as his queue to head to the men's room.

As more pictures came in, more of Adalind's skin was revealed until her blouse was completely open, giving a generous view of her breasts cupped in blue satin.

The came the words,

"Do you think you would be unhappy?"

Grimm

Nick, eager to be with Adalind, broke the speed limit getting to her home the very moment he was able to leave work. The text messages they had sent earlier that day still floated in his mind, fueling his desire for her.

His smile turned to pleasure as his features appeared to make him look like a hunter catching sight of his prey when he saw Adalind standing at the kitchen counter.

Grimm

Adalind was writing a list of the things she wanted to get at the farmers market when Nick walked up behind her, put his arms around her and slipped his hand into her panties as he pressed his lips along her neck.

She moaned as her nether regions began to flood.

Nick slid his tongue along her ear, catching the lobe between his teeth and tugging gently.

"I love the things you do to me."

"I love you."

Adalind gasped hearing Nick say those three little words. She turned around to look him in the eye, hoping he meant them.

With Nick's expressive face, it was near impossible for him to hide how nervous he was at what Adalind's reaction would be to his little slip.

Beneath that nervousness, Adalind realized the emotion that was always there whenever he looked at her. It was something she had never seen before, so she thought she could be forgiven for not understanding it.

The grimm, Nick Burkhardt, really was in love with her.

She took him by the hand and pulled him toward her bedroom.

"I want to show you how much I love you."

Grimm

Sean Renard sat in his apartment, seething.

He had failed in his quest to control the grimm.

Not only that, but it appeared as though Nick held not just distrust, but an outright animosity toward him. Though Renard could not fathom why.

Of course, there were several reasons why Sean couldn't be trusted, but Nick Burkhardt shouldn't know any of them.

What was even more frustrating was that Nick had managed to turn Adalind against him.

All of the effort Sean had put into charming Adalind had been wasted.

The half royal could not understand how a grimm had been able to steal the affections of a hexenbiest; especially one whom he had been certain was in love with him.

With things getting out of his control and his goals seeming further away than ever before, Sean decided he needed to take drastic steps to get everything back to the way he wanted it.

He picked up the phone and called Catherine Schade.
