Evelyn's PoV:
As they where traveling, they got an IM.
Evelyn walked straight through it, then backtracked.
"Um...hello?" she asked.
Chiron appeared.
"ah. Evelyn. Bad news. More campers have gone missing, two by two. We only have thirty campers let. You children have to get a move on it. where are you?
"It's too far. Australia. It's way too far, we can't get there in time. "Annabeth said.
They all nodded.
Chiron darkened
"Then we must prepare for the worst" Chiron said, suddenly, he erupted into gold light and flew away.
"Chiron?!" Annabeth yelled.
"Chiron!" Percy called.
The connection was interrupted.
They stared at it.
"Oh no, oh no! We need to move. From now on we sprint. We're going to have to take a boat." Annabeth said.
"we can't! I'll be drowned!" Jason said.
"I'll protect you, dad won't drown you if I'm on the boat." Percy said.
They nodded and they all sprinted.
Jason suddenly stopped.
"Wait a second. Why aren't we just flying? I can't fly us to the docks." Jason said.
"But we'll sink like a rock." Evelyn said.
"We won't, if I really strain myself." Jason said.
"better idea." Piper said as they came across a McDonalds.
She walked over to a man with a truck.
"hey, can i have your car keys?' she asked.
The man's eyes glazed over as he handed her the keys and walekd away.
"Jump in.' Piper grinned.
Evelyn realized that Piper was deadly.
If she said cut your neck, you cut your neck.
It scared her.
They piled in and Aredian and Evelyn had to sit in the back while the older kids took turns driving.
They where like, 18 anyways.
Evelyn looked up at the sky.
It was dark.
he sighed, and fell asleep in the truck.
Her dreams where bad.
"Evelyn." her mother whispered.
"Evelyn." she whispered.
"GO AWAY! " Evelyn screamed.
"Read the letter." Her mother held out a letter.
"read the letter! "her mother whispered.
"I love you. " she said.
Then she faded away, Evelyn was left holding the letter.
"NO! Why?!" Evelyn screamed.
She was on her knees, sobbing.
She woke up in cold sweat.
She took deep breaths and calmed down. It was still dark.
she heard snoring from the inside of the truck, four kids.
Wait a second-all four of them snoring?
"HIT THE BREAKS!" she yelled.
They where about to crash, when someone jammed the breaks and aredian woke up, drooling.
He fell forward.
"huh? Whaaa" she asked and he fell asleep again.
Evelyn took deep breaths and started to calm down. She put her hands in her pocket when she felt something papery.
"What the-" she looked at it to find a dusty paper with a seal on it. It had a wave on it, and it said 'demigod' in Greek and Evelyn felt her heart sink.
"I shouldn't of kept it from you so long. Sorry. Good luck, Evelyn. " the wind seemed to be carrying Artemis's voice to her.
"Mom." she said.
She looked down at the paper.
This was it.
All her life, she'd been waiting for this one moment.
When she opened the letter, there where only fifteen words printed on teh page.
DEAR EVELYN,
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU. BE STRONG. REMEMBER YOUR HERITAGE.
LOVE,
CALLISTA MILLER
Her heart sank even further, and she started to cry.
That was it?
Those twelve words?
'I have always loved you'?
Then she got angry.
Angry at her mom.
The gods.
The whole universe.
She wiped her tears and looked up at the moon.
"Hey mom. What's up? I haven't seen you in forever. I love you. I miss you. I want to go home. I'll be back at the hunt before you know it.' Love you, It's Evelyn." she said up at the moon.
The moon seemed to smile down at her.
She looked at the goddess of dawn in a few minutes, and her uncle coming in.
She sighed.
She couldn't tell the others.
Suddenly, they came to a stop.
"What happened?" Evelyn called.
Percy rolled down the window and stuck his head through.
"We can't go any more on land. It's the grove of Aphrodite and we can't go around on car." Percy said.
Percy had a mom.
Evelyn felt envious when Percy had called her with a monster proof phone.
she seemed so worried, so nice.
Evelyn wished she had a mom like that.
No.
The fates hated her.
Why?
maybe she was worthless to them.
She was worthless.
They didn't want her to live, but they had to make her a story. It was there job.
So they'd made one where she died young.
Tears slid down her face and she wiped them and woke up Aredian.
