Authors Note: I really didn't expect to bring in the Neverseen, but here we are! I was running out of ideas for more serious Fitzphie drama, so I'm mixing in a little action/mystery into it! So, I guess this means I kind of lied about this all going to be romance and drama. Of course, the main plot is still going to aiming for that, I'll just be adding in some more genres.
I hope I will be able to update on my story a little more often. I see other fanfics and the writers update like crazy! I really want to try to update more, so if you have ideas for future chapters please send a comment or PM me.
Enjoy! OH- forgot to say, this is going to be a very short chapter, Keefe's POV!
I was furious. I couldn't wait to go punch Fitz. Why would he ever do such a thing to Sophie? Now, I had an excuse to be mad at him.
"If you're thinking about ways to get revenge on Wonderboy, I suggest we put flesh-eating bacteria in his food," Ro said, interrupting his thoughts. She had a strange obsession with harmful bacteria for some reason.
At this point, I would do whatever it took to get revenge on Fitz. I light leaped to Everglen balling my fists up. When I knocked, Alden answered the door.
"Alden, I need to see Fitz," I tried to calm the tone in my voice, but I knew Alden could sense the anger in it.
"Come in, Keefe," he motioned me to move forward. Once they were inside, he told me to sit down. Even if I did not have the patience for this, I obeyed. "Fitz told me everything. And before you go storming to his room, I need to tell you something."
"What?" I said impatiently.
"Hopefully, there's no reason to worry. But Fitz didn't implant a device into her necklace, someone else did."
My anger vanished and was replaced by fear. Someone was targeting Sophie. It had to be the Neverseen, they would be the only reasonable theory.
"We need to go warn Sophie, now," I demanded.
"As I said, hopefully, there's no reason to worry. Sophie has had lots of stress fall on her lately. Telling her that someone might be trying to target her is not the solution."
But it had to be. There was no way he was holding this back from Sophie. It felt wrong to hide something so important from her. I left Everglen, hoping Alden was convinced enough that I was on his side so he would not stop me. I came back to Havenfield, to find Grady and Edaline talking to Sandor. Grady looked worried as heck, while Edaline was trying to hold herself back from tears.
"Where's Sophie?" I asked. I could guess what the answer was before they even said it.
"She disappeared; we can't find her."
Pain hit me like a boulder, and I fell to my knees. The Neverseen took Sophie. I was already imagining the hundreds of terrifying things they could to her. I had no idea where she was. I didn't even have a hint! But I was going to find her. I was going to bring her back even if it cost my life. She meant more to me than anything, and I was not about to lose her.
