Kira looked down from her new hiding ledge, someone walked down the alleyway and she smirked. She jumped down and aimed for the stranger's back, however she didn't realize until it was too late that the stranger was aware of her plan.
She found herself being held still by the stranger, she kicked and spun furiously but it was no use. She tried to turn her head to bite the stranger but she couldn't quite reach them.
"I will put you down if you just calm down." The stranger said sternly.
That statement only made her kick and struggle harder, Kira had heard people in the city taking their cats and dogs to be 'put down' she never saw any dog or cat come out of the place when their owners said that.
Kira did not want to find out what happened to those cats and dogs!
"I meant I'll let you go." The stranger said.
Oh. As realization washed over Kira she stopped and calmed down. As soon as her feet touched the ground she began running off.
"Wait!" Came a command.
She turned around and saw the mystery person holding a sandwich.
"Are you hungry?"
Kira snatched the sandwich.
"If you don't run away I'll give you more."
Kira considered it, she was hungry, and the sandwiches did seem good. She reluctantly sat down and started nibbling on her sandwich. The stranger smiled and sat down as well.
"So, can you talk?" The stranger asked.
Kira nodded.
The stranger smiled.
"Can you tell me your name?" The stranger mused.
"K-Ki'a." It was hard to say out loud…
"Kia? Is that your name?" The stranger asked.
Kira shook her head, of course it wasn't her name.
"Ki'a." She repeated.
"Kira?" The stranger asked, Kira nodded.
"I'm Lloyd, you can call me master Lloyd." The stranger, now revealed to be named Lloyd, smiled.
Kira stared at master Lloyd, she didn't care about his name, she only cared if he had more food for her.
He seemed to understand the judging stare and handed her another sandwich.
"You sure are hungry, no?" He chuckled.
Kira stopped and gave him a shrill glare before starting to chuck down the sandwich, it was just so good.
"You seem to understand speech fairly well. Have you been listening to people in the streets?" Kira didn't like how many questions master Lloyd asked.
When Kira didn't answer he continued: "I have an offer for you, you'd get a dry and safe place to sleep, and as much food as you need, what do you think?"
Kira stared at master Lloyd again. Food and shelter sounded nice, but how could she know it wasn't a trap?
She stayed still so master Lloyd elaborated: "could also teach you to speak and fight properly."
It did seem pretty tempting… Kira looked at master Lloyd in his clear green eyes, they reminded her of traffic lights. That aside, if this guy wanted to hurt her he would've already done so. She nodded slowly.
"Well come along then, I'm sure you'll love it at the monastery." master Lloyd stood up.
Kira followed him, still scarfing down the sandwich.
