POV: Rogue 5 (Allen)

It's been a good week. I've made a lot of friends, I've kept my grades up, and I've gotten what I think is a hefty amount of info on the experiments. Well, not all of them, but the ones that Lux introduced to me. It kind of sucked, since Lux would always include me in the conversation, even if I had nothing to add on. All in all, I felt that I'll enjoy school and my newfound friends.

As much as I can, at least.

The bag over my head was removed and I found myself In a familiar room. It's been a week, so It's time for a checkup on my research. The guard had escorted me and now I was face to face with the Scientist. I could see the frown. I didn't know why yet, so I just ignored it for the time being. "Hey there, Miss. Here's the notes I've gotten this week" I said with a smile in my face. It was always best to be straight to the point with her, and I was proud of how much I've obtained this time.

"...Have you gotten anything on the battle?" Was my response.

I stopped moving as her words went through my head. "Battle? What happened? Who fought who?". Even If they were just her test subjects, I felt concerned about the five Pokémon that I've met. I didn't want them hurt, they were friends.

She sighed. "I guess you've got nothing, then. I don't blame you, It happened yesterday. By some bagel shop before the Lucario led the Nidoking somewhere without people. Thankfully, some kids followed them and put the entire fight on the internet, meaning I can look into it while you look into their personal lives".

"What happened to the Lucario?" I had witnessed the Nidoking's strength myself, so I hoped Lux was okay...ish.

"Huh? Oh, he couldn't deal any real damage to the Nidoking, so he left after telling the kids to leave as well. From what I saw, he moved at incredible speeds. The Nidoking also showed impressive strength throughout the battle. Just like we designed them to be..." She trailed off as she stared towards a large machine in the room. We? I thought to myself. Though, I forgot as I took a look at the machine myself.

It was about the size of a fridge. The top had a tube that went all the way over to some beakers and crap from the tables. There was a monitor, several buttons, and a small lid next to the monitor. From my guess, that machine was the one that had made the injections. I didn't know how she even made them, nor did I want to ask. She'd probably explain using an example If I ever said anything.

That reminded me of something. "Wait, what are you going to do about the other two vials? The ones we couldn't use". She hadn't said anything about the two, and he wondered if she had just not cared about them.

She smiled before answering. "I had already taken care of the one in the lab," She held up a green vial. "And asked an experiment to fetch the other blue one at the police station today. All I need to do is wait for the news to arrive at my door step, but I they've already missed their first check in," She frowned. "I guess he still doesn't want to cooperate fully. Ah well, as long as the vial is destroyed or in my hands again. He'll be 100% loyal in due time. I guess I should send a few mercs along with him, though. Just to make sure he gets the job done..." She turned to her computer and started sending messages.

I was surprised. She had certainly been keeping herself busy with this stuff. Sounds like she's put all her efforts into these experiments. But why?

She looked through the notes I gave her again and smiled. "I think that these are more than enough for now. I've been talking to one of the experiments, and I think he'll be more than cooperative in my research in return for some innovations made just for him. He's already on that job I've mentioned earlier. He can handle the physical situations while you work on personal matters. It'll take a while, but it'll be worth it once I have everything down to a T. Thank you, Rogue 5. You're dismissed".

Again, I never wanted to ask her for her reasons to do any of this in fear of being injected with the Poke-crap she has. Now that the bag is back on my head, the Scientist called out to me again. "Oh yeah! Try not to miss anything too Important again, Okay?".

With that, the guard dragged me back to the place he picked me up in.

School

POV: Lux

It's been a few days since that encounter, and I'm currently eating some tacos I got from a nearby Mexican restaurant for lunch. My whole [Extreme Speed] business is basically second nature at this point.

After the fight with Max, I've been teaching my Poke-friends as much as I can. Aura, moves and combat when I think I can give them some advice. Now that I've felt the wrath of another Pokémon, I felt that boulders weren't good enough practice. What I needed to Improve on was strength and technique, so I worked on that while I worked with the others. We all wanted to beat the crap out of Max after what we heard about him, so I stepped training up after aura training.

In these few days, they've been practicing communication with human students. Right now, everyone but Charlie had gotten telepathy down while he can send only emotions. The only reason he can't right now is because he's been a lot of time sparring with me. Now, when I say "Sparring", I mean we beat the crap out of each other. We don't want to kill each other, so we pull some metaphorical punches. I use [Life Dew] and [Heal Pulse] after every fight, so no one has any permanent damage. The others sparred too, but not as frequently as Charlie.

When I asked him about It, he tells me he wants to be strong enough to protect all of his friends. He felt as if it's his duty to protect those closest to him, and to be able to carry any burdens that may show up later down the line. I felt like face palming when I heard all of that. He sounded like the average Shonen protagonist when he said it, too.

Right now, I've been able to teach him [Extreme Speed] myself, and he's mastered [Fire Fang], [Flame Wheel], and [Ember] to the point where he won't accidentally burn something in the heat of the moment. No pun intended. I taught Abigail [Detect] and she's learned [Slash], [Night Slash], [Knock Off], and [Quick Attack] when she tried catching up to Charlie and I in [Extreme Speed]. Dan had learnt [Thunder Punch], [Thunder Shock], [Thunder Wave], and [Quick Attack] the same way Abigail did. Penny had [Thunder Wave], [Nuzzle], [Swift], [Electro ball], and [Quick Attack]. Thankfully, they were able to practice with each other and the boulders, so I didn't have to suffer as much. I didn't know any stat changing moves, so I couldn't really help them there.

Anyways, once our human friends saw that other Pokémon could use telepathy, they were delighted. Old friends reunited now that the language barrier's out of the way. It felt as If everyone could finally talk to each other again. Only problem now was that some small groups would occasionally split off from the group to talk about private matters. I guess they need to talk about things that they didn't want me to translate.

Something did catch my eye though, besides the eyes of passing students. Penny's fiend group had branched out frequently. Each time, they looked back to the main group, more specifically Dan's group, then went back to chatting about something. Sadly, I couldn't pick anything up on what they were saying since they remembered about Pokémon-sensitive hearing and backed further away.

My attention shifted when I heard my name from the conversation I tuned out of. I was talking with Tyler, Dan, Paul, and Kevin. Mainly video games and school crap, nothing serious. At least, not until Tyler brought back Dan's love life. Except he's been broader and wanted to know about all of us Pokémon's opinions about it. "So, Lux. What do you think?" He said.

"W-What I wasn't listening"

"Do you ever listen?" Tyler asked.

"Well yeah, but.. whatever. Could you repeat that, Tyler?"

He gave off a sigh. "I had asked you about your love life. Like, what'll you do now that you're a Pokémon?"

I thought about It for a bit before answering. "I guess I'd have to deal with other Pokémon, but that's if I ever get into a relationship. I'm not fond of the whole Pokémon/Human thing, sounds a little weird. But if it's love love, then who cares."

"Spoken like a man, Lux..." He trailed off as he looked at Dan. "And what about you? You sort of left me hanging on that last week".

Dan had been silent the entire time. He seemed to be in thought while we talked, but he listened to the entire thing. His ears perked and his cheeks went red after he remembered what happened then. "W-Well..." he trailed off.

His friends had amused looks on their faces. I guess he's never handled relationship stuff that well.

Eventually, he shook off his stupor and responded. "Well, I'd say I agree with Lux. We can still like humans, but I don't know If they'd like us back that way..."

I zoned out once I noticed the other groups listening intently on our conversation. Seems that they want to hear us before they come to their own conclusion. It seemed that the other Pokémon were all conflicted about relationships. I didn't really understand, but I guessed that they were frustrated with being more animal than human. Being a Pokémon, I guess still-Human students wouldn't want one of us as a significant other. I mean, they'd probably be listed as a furry or zoophile or something crazy. Pokephile?

After a bit, the relationship business calmed down and I ate the rest of my tacos while I looked around. I had given up trying to stop students from recording me, I just ignored them at this point. Instead, I reactivated my Aura Vision to try and look for Max, and the other humans turned Pokémon. Whether it be good or bad, they weren't anywhere in sight. Must be on the other side of school or something, out of my range. Whatever.

As I downed the rest of my drink, I notice a familiar cop run up to my group. Dan and I recognized him as Jason, Dan's father. The others sort of tensed up, then settled back down when they recognized him. Dan called out to Jason. "Dad? What are you doing here?". Everyone had first used their telepathy on their parents, so they already knew not to freak out at the voices in their heads.

Jason gave an awkward wave at his son before walking over to me. "Listen, could you do me a favor?".

I was surprised. Why would he need my help? Me specifically. If it's Pokémon related, couldn't he just ask Dan or someone else? "What's the problem, sir?".

He sighed. "You don't have to call me sir. I may be on duty, but I'm coming to you for help".

"Alrighty then, but what do you need?"

"Uhhhh," he pulled out his phone and showed it to me. There was live news feed of an attack on the fucking police station. "Could you help us with this?".

Obviously, I was in disbelief. What does he think I could do? If someone had the friggin' nuts to raid a police station, they're either heavily prepared or out of their minds! I had these sort of thoughts the view shifted to a helicopter. From there, I saw something just down right ludicrous. It was big, had a long snout, rounded ears, claws, and three ice spikes under the jaw. A Beartic?! What's this guy doing at the station?

"I'm sorry," I started. "You want me to fight THAT?! It's a fucking bear with ice powers! What could I possibly do against that?".

"Well," he sort of looked down at his shoes in shame. "I thought that it would be easier for you... with type advantage".

Ohhhhhhhhhh, I thought. It made sense, but I didn't know whether those rules held true in real life. "Besides," he said. "I've seen you fight these things before. There was a video of you and that Nidoking recorded. It's all over social media right now".

I groaned. I should have smashed the camera. I'd never have to deal with this if I hadn't shooed them away faster or something. "But, you saw the fight. I got my ass handed to me. I was practically ragdolled all across the clearing".

"Well, It's not like I have a lot of different options, and you're the only one with experience. You're the best man for this... Or 'mon".

I groan once more. I guess there's nothing bad with trying to help. What's the worst that can happen? Death? I shiver at the thought. Despite that, he was right. If I were him, I'd come to me too. Eventually, I caved in and agreed to help

I was about to dash off to the station when I heard Charlie clear his throat. 'I'm coming with you' he said as he walked over to me. All Pokémon present were shocked, since the whole ordeal sounded like a trip to the hospital at best. I could feel concern coming from Abigail the most, but I was too surprised to take note of that.

I shook out of my stupor. 'What? Why?'

'I saw that video as well,' he paused. 'No offense, but you barely did any damage to Max yourself. Besides, I have "type advantage" as well, If that even works'. He held up his paws as he said that, probably air quotes.

I sighed. 'That makes it much easier, but I don't want to be the one to blame if you die'. He didn't flinch when I told him the high probability of death. I sigh again, 'Fine. Let's get going then'.

I turn to Jason again. "Charlie and I are gonna go ahead. Could you inform your buddies that we're going to help. Last thing I'd want is a bullet from behind".

"No problem," he brought out his radio. Before he relayed the message, he spoke to us again. "Thanks again, Lux. Charlie". Well, Charlie had already sped off so I was the only one who heard him. I then catch up to Charlie and we head to the station using [Extreme Speed].

POV: Third Person

Police Station

In one of the rooms in the station, there was a girl. Long brown hair, blue eyes, and she wore a light blue sweater with dark jeans. She wore a nametag. "Lydia" It said. Nothing was too special about her, she looked like a 16 year old volunteer for the station she was in. Well, she was a 16 year old volunteer, but it's weird how she also looked the part. Anyways, she isn't special. What was special was the fact that she was crouched under some tables, with a glowing blue vial in her left hand and a Glock 19 pistol on her right.

A few moments later, a giant polar bear thing with an Ice beard came into the room. It was frustrated. The girl had been running away from him for the last half hour, holding the vial that he was after. Finally, he thought. I've cornered her...

"Come out Come out, girlie. I won't hurt you if you listen" He said. Said said. He was thankful for that translator the woman in the lab coat gave him. She gave him a few other things, but he didn't need to pull them out of the duffle bag he was carrying.

Lydia didn't respond. She was terrified, she'd seen what he could do herself. He'd already blown away cars and cops with one motion of his arm, which had made a strong chilly wave of air. She was thinking about getting out of the corner she trapped herself in. The only door was blocked by the Beartic. I only have a few shots left, she thought. If I could make those last long enough, I might be able to go around him and out back that door.

She made to live out that plan, but the Freezing Pokémon heard her move before she pulled out her gun and reacted accordingly. He put his arms out in front of him and conjured a thick wall of Ice. She had wasted half of her rounds on the wall before she realized he blocked them and stopped. She only had 3 shots left.

He frowned at her. "I guess you don't want to listen. Fair enough, I've already got blood on my hands. What's a little more?". He grinned and grasped her neck with both his paws. He didn't want to just kill her, He wanted to make her suffer for wasting his time.

As she struggled to breath, she fired her last rounds at the Beartic's legs. He grunted in pain, but tightened his grip. Now she dropped the gun and was hitting his arm with it. He laughed at her futile attempt to escape and kept strangling her.

Right before she was about to suffocate, she heard nearby windows shatter. She would have thought how, since they were on the third floor and she didn't hear helicopters, but she was a bit preoccupied with trying to breathe. She got an answer, though. The next second, she saw a Jackal like creature punch the Beartic right in the jaw.

Surprisingly, he didn't just stumble. He was flying into the wall, and he broke one before stopping with a visible dent at the next wall. Now that Lydia was free, she took in a deep breath and rubbed her aching neck. She looked up and saw her savior, saviors now that she saw the other creature. Once she got a good look, she realized that two other Pokémon had shown up. Wow, she thought. Today's just full of surprises.

The Lucario turned to Lydia and examined her body. "Are you okay?" He... thought to her.

She only paused in surprise for a moment before responding. "Y-Yeah. A few bruises and cuts, b-but I'm okay".

She was still rubbing her neck, and the Aura Pokémon noticed. "I think that's a bit more serious than an okay. Here," He held up a paw at her neck, and sent a [Heal Pulse] throughout her body. She felt as If she never had a scratch on her body, and she was a little surprised when she saw that the injuries she sustained were actually closing right before her eyes.

"Thanks," she said.

Lux couldn't say anything else to her, because Charlie had shouted out to him. 'Get ready, Lux! The Beartic's coming back, and he looks pissed'.

Lydia had no time to react. A moment later, she saw the Freezing Pokémon charging her and the Lucario she had just met with a glowing paw. Lux, however, responded by charging his own attack in his left paw. In the right moment, he sidestepped the [Mega Punch] and connected a [Force Palm] to his shoulder. The force of the charge mixed with the attack caused him to stumble to the left and crash into the wall that lead outside. Thank god I practiced with my friends, Lux thought to himself. Again, he looked back to Lydia and looked at her name tag, then the familiar vial at her hand. "Lydia," he said. "I need you to get away from here". She was about to object, but Lux cut her off. "I need you to get everyone else to safety, and keep the vial out of the bear's paws while we kick his ass".

She wanted to make the beartic pay for what he's done to her colleagues, but she knew he was right. The people's safety comes first, and she was sure that the vial was important if the Beartic was after it. With a quick thanks, she leaves the Pokémon duo to deal with the Beartic.

'Alrighty, then. Now that friendlies are out of the way, you can go wild with the flames Charlie' Lux told the Legendary Pokémon.

'I know I know, but it'd be better if we took this outside. I don't have to actually burn a building' he said as he walked out the hole in the wall without waiting for a response.

'But the cameras, man!' He called out, but got nothing. Lux groaned, then followed through the hole whilst preparing for the battle.
