RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

The alarm clock was ringing then stopped. The yawn was heard by a man who was waking up from his sleep. That man was twenty five years old, named Marco Diaz.

Marco got up and rubbed his eyes to make him have clear vision. He turned his head to look around his bedroom. His eyes widened in shock as he look at the calendar.

"Oh, man! Today is our anniversary." He gasped.

Today was the anniversary of Marco and… someone else.

Oh, wait! You know who Marco's girlfriend is, right?

Marco went to the bathroom to take a shower in few minutes, then wore his usual, signature outfit: Red hoodie, light gray shirt, dark gray skinny jeans, and olive and white sneakers.

He left his bedroom and went to the kitchen. He looked at his parents named Angie and Rafael and his ten-year-old sister named Mariposa who were eating their breakfast.

"Good morning, mom, dad and sis." He greeted them with a smile.

"Good morning, son/bro." Marco's parents and sister greeted him back in unison.

As he sat down with them to eat his breakfast, the woman who had blonde hair and was wearing sea-green dress with pink squid print entered the dining room. Yeah, that dress she wore still fit, just like before.

"Good Morning, Star." The Diaz family greeted Star Butterfly.

"Morning, guys." Star smiled at them, then sitting down next to her boyfriend Marco.

His father Rafael suddenly smirked. "Happy Starco Day, you two!"

"Dad!" Marco exclaimed, blushing in embarrassment.

Outside the Diaz Household, you could see anywhere in Echo Creek that it wasn't exactly looked like Echo Creek before, because the Earth and Mewni dimensions cleaved together about ten years ago, thanks to Star and Marco. So the buildings and the environment from Echo Creek and Mewni were in one place together.

Those damaged buildings from Mewni were repaired, thanks to the help from humans. Plus, young and teenage mewmans and monsters were attending school with humans to learn anything.

Speaking of monsters, mewmans and humans, they were finally gotten along. Not to mention humans taught mewmans and even some monsters how to use modern things, especially technologies. Although, the mewmans and monsters still kept their old traditions, but humans didn't mind them as long as they respected them.

Back to Diaz residence, Mariposa asked while scratching her head. "Um… What is Starco Day again?"

That even made her brother Marco groan while covering his face in more embarrassment while his mother Angie laughed at him softly.

"It's the day of the anniversary of me and your brother." Star told Mariposa while blushing, then looking at her boyfriend. "Happy tenth anniversary, Marco."

"Yeah, happy anniversary too." Marco said, then eating his breakfast.

Speaking of anniversary, Angie's eyes widened as she remembered something.

Last night, while Star, Marco and Mariposa were sleeping, Angie and Rafael had a chat with Star's parents name Moon and River, and her not-so-biologically grandmother Eclipsa and her monster husband Globgor with their phones, thanks to Marco and Star for teaching Moon, River, Eclipsa and Globgor how to use devices such as phones, computers and other technologies that were obviously created by humans.

Those six adults had conversation about not only Star and Marco's tenth in-a-relationship anniversary, but also the tenth anniversary of cleaving the Earth and Mewni dimensions together. They also made plans for those two said anniversaries.

"Star, Marco…" Angie said. "Bring your friends tonight."

The teenage couple blinked their eyes in confusion.

"Huh?" Marco raised her eyebrow. "Why?"

"We'll celebrate your anniversary, of course." Angie winked at them.

"And the anniversary of the new world." Rafael added.

"Aww, you guys…" Star smiled in awe.

"Mom, dad, you don't have to do that." Marco said.

"We do, hijo. In fact, it was idea from me, Angie, Moon, River, Eclipsa and Globgor." Rafael told his son.

"Oh, yeah." His wife nodded. "That's why the six of us had conversation together while you two and Mariposa were sleeping. Our idea is mostly for you two, Star and Marco."

"But there is not enough space here in the dining room, dad." Marco pointed out.

"Not here, Marco. There…" His father pointed at the backyard. "That's where we will have a feast tonight."

"Your friends are invited." Angie added, smiling on her face. "Don't forget to tell them."

"I'll tell them later." Star nodded.

"Yeah, me too." Marco said.

Few minutes after the breakfast, Marco entered his room. He opened the drawer and saw the small black box he bought at the jewelry store few days ago.

Smiling at that box, he grabbed and opened it.

'I will do it to my future wife in front of everyone tonight.' Marco thought while looking at an item with a sigh.

Later that night, the family members of Diaz and Butterfly including Eclipsa, Globgor and their half-monster-mewman Meteora and Star and Marco's friends gathered together at the backyard in Diaz residence. The foods and beverages were set for the feast to celebrate not only the tenth anniversary of Star and Marco's relationship, but also the tenth anniversary of cleaving the two worlds Earth and Mewni together.

They ate their foods together while some of them were talking to each other. But Marco nervously ate his food while having a concerned thoughts. He shoved his left hand into his pocket and got something that was a small black box. He opened it and there was a platinum ring with small diamond.

"That's six hundred fifty dollars, right?" The female voice said behind him.

"Gah!" Marco jumped, nearly dropping his plate with food. He turned around and saw Janna and Tom.

"Guys, you scared me!" Marco exclaimed, immediately putting back the small black box into his pocket.

"Sorry, dude!" Tom chuckled.

"It's fine." Marco nodded. "And yeah, that's six-hundred-fifty-dollar ring."

"Let me guess." Janna tapped her chin with her index finger, then smirking at him. "You're going to propose her tonight?"

"Yes, but I'm actually nervous." Marco told her as the chills sent down his spine.

"Marco, I'm sure she will say 'yes'." Tom patted Marco's shoulder. "I mean, you two are meant to be."

"I know, but still." Marco said softly as Janna left the two men.

"But you already made a speech before you will ask her a biggest question, right?" Tom asked.

Marco was about to answer when someone clinked the glass with the spoon.

"Everyone, can I have your attention please?" Janna said, continuing clinking the glass to draw more everyone's attention.

"What's up with her?" Tom raised his eyebrow.

"No idea." Marco shrugged.

Then he noticed the phone on Janna's hand.

"What the...? My phone!" He exclaimed at Janna. But she just ignore him.

"My friend Marco Diaz has something to say, especially for you, Star Butterfly."

"Me?" Star said, pointing at herself in confusion.

"Janna!" Marco hissed, blushing.

"Do it, dude!" Janna smiled at him. "I know you're ready."

"Fine." He sighed.

"I'm gonna use your phone to record a video on you and Star, by the way." Janna smirked while holding his phone. "Is that okay?"

"Yeah, whatever." Marco rolled his eyes, then walking towards his girlfriend.

"And... action!" Janna started recording the video of the couple with his phone as she tried not to laugh after she said that.

Marco went to the near table where Star was there. They stared at each other, but she was still confused about what was going on with him.

"Star…" He said, holding her hands.

"Yes?" She replied, raising her eyebrow.

"Before I will ask you the biggest question, I have to say something."

"Okay?" She nodded.

Then Marco took a deep breath as his thoughts in the past flashed his mind.

"Eleven years ago, when we met, I was jerk to you and you were reckless to me." He chuckled at the memories with his girlfriend. "Then after we fought the monsters for the first time, we instantly became best friends. We were closer and closer. We helped each other. And we had each other's backs."

He sighed sadly. "I never forget the moment you tried to rescue me from Toffee, you destroyed the wand to save my life. That made me concerned over that valuable thing, but your parents weren't mad at you. At least the wand was recovered. Anyway, when you told me that you had a crush on me and left Earth, I was so upset that I thought you would never see me again. I forgot that I had dimensional scissors, so I went to Mewni. You left Earth, because of Toffee. I didn't care that you had a crush on me, as long as I needed you no matter what. I went to Mewni to find you and help you and your family to defeat Toffee. But when you lost to him, I was even more upset. I thought you lost forever." Then he smiled at Star. "I was so glad you were back and defeated Toffee. After the battle, I left Mewni to go back to my home. But I couldn't stop thinking of Mewni and you, Star Butterfly. Thanks to the cape your father gave me, by the way."

"So I gave up on everything from Earth and went back to Mewni… just to be with you like usual before. Not to mention I became your royal squire." Marco continued. "When Eclipsa, Globgor and Meteora reclaimed the throne, you were no longer a princess. Just be you. Just be the Star Butterfly I've known. When I left Mewni again, you came back to Earth that I never expected and we hung out as usual again."

"When we went back to Mewni, we finally confessed with each other. And that's where we were officially dating." He sighed sadly again. "But… when the magic ended, we went back separately to our different home dimensions. I thought we would never see each other again. And finally, when Earth and Mewni cleaved together, we met again."

"That's where I realized about what had we done since the beginning. Our relationship is so intense. We are inseparable. We care so much about each other. We always spend our time together. And we can't live without each other." Then he looked at his girlfriend's eyes. "If it wasn't for your parents, Mr. Skeeves and my parents, we would never meet and know each other, and we would be still the old Marco Diaz and Star Butterfly ourselves. Even you are no longer a princess, you are still princess to me. And most of all, you, Star Butterfly, are the most beautiful, cheerful, funniest, prettiest, cutest, kindest, sweetest and best girlfriend I ever have. I love you so much."

Everyone around Star and Marco said 'aww' at the couple while she placed her hand against her chest as she felt her heart beating fast.

"Oh, Marco…" Star gave him a big hug while her tears rolled down on her cheek.

"Star, there is one more thing." Marco told his girlfriend as she broke a hug.

He kneeled his left knee and grabbed the small black box from his pocket. That thing instantly reminded Star of tv shows and movies she watched with Marco that there were the scenes about the couples doing something for their future.

As Marco opened the small box, Star gasped as she looked at the ring while covering her mouth with her both hands. Everyone around the couple except Tom and Janna was in shock. They knew what would happen next.

"Star, I know about the tradition in the Butterfly that the unmarried princess and queen would propose their suitors which were their future husbands." Marco said, still kneeling and chuckling awkwardly. "But… since you are no longer in royalty, I'm gonna do this, just like in Earth tradition."

Then he cleared his throat and asked his girlfriend the biggest question. "Star Butterfly, will you marry me?"

That question from Marco made everyone gasp.

"Marco, I…" Star couldn't make out any words to say while he was waiting for her answer.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

… "No!"

"WHAT?!" Everyone were so shocked at the unexpected answer from Star.

"What do you mean no?!" Marco's eyes widened in disbelief. "I don't understand."

He was about to cry when Star suddenly said…

...

...

...

...

...

...

…"PFFFT! Sorry, I just messed up with you, Marco!" She started laughing.

"Huh?" Marco was confused.

"Actually, it's yes." Star told him with big smile.

"Yes?"

"Yes!" She nodded happily. "Yes, I will marry you, Marco Diaz!"

Then Marco stood up and grabbed the ring from the small box and put it into Star's right ring finger. And everyone finally cheered happily and clapped together at the now-engaged couple.

"Seriously, Star." He hugged her. "Please don't scare me like that again."

"I know, I'm sorry." She sighed, hugging him back. "I love you, Marco."

"I love you too, Star."

Then Star and Marco looked at everyone with smiles.

"Everyone, Star and I..." He said.

"...are engaged!" She shouted happily, showing the ring on her finger to them.

The people around the couple cheered for them more.

"To my daughter Star..." Her father River raised his drinking glass.

"To my son Marco..." His father Rafael also raised his glass.

"Happy Starco Day!" Everyone except Star and Marco shouted.

"Guys!" Marco exclaimed with an embarrassed look on his face. But Star just giggled at him while blushing.

While those people congratulated the engaged couple, Janna stopped recording the video and then went to Marco.

"Hey, Marco." Janna said. "Here's your phone."

"Thanks for recording me and Star, Janna." Marco told her as she gave him his phone.

Janna nodded. "You should upload that video, Marco. I'm sure it will be gone viral."

Then he looked at Star. "What do you think, Star?"

"It's up to you, Marco." She replied.

"Okay, I will upload it tomorrow."

"Oh, and congratulations, you two. I'm so happy for you, guys." Janna smiled at them.

"Thank you, Janna!" Star and Marco said in unison while smiling at their friend back.

Marco felt a hand on his shoulder, then turned around and looked at Star's parents River and Moon with serious looks on their faces.

"Marco, we need to talk." Moon said.

He looked at Star as she nodded at him.

"Sure." Marco said.

He and his future parents-in-law walked away from Star and her friends to have a private talk. But what would they say to their future son-in-law?

"So..." Marco said awkwardly, looking at them nervously.

"River and I would like to thank you for taking care of our daughter." Moon said, smiling at him.

"Yeah, And I never expected that you actually gave up on everything from you for Star." River said.

"It was nothing, guys." Marco said. "I mean, thank you for accepting me and Star."

River nodded and smirked. "To be honest, if Moon, Star and I were truly the Butterfly family, my wife and I would make you a knight early as a reward for Star."

"River!" Moon exclaimed at her husband, elbowing him.

"Sorry, Moon." He chuckled sheepishly.

"And there is one more thing, Marco." She told Marco.

"What is it?" He asked her.

"Oh, right!" River gave Marco a big smile. "Moonpie and I give you our blessing."

That made Marco gasp and his eyes widen as he heard from River.

"Really?"

"Of course." Moon smiled. "You'll be part of our family."

Then Marco gave his future parents-in-law a guys while his tears rolled down on his cheek.

"Thank you, guys."

Star's parents and Marco went back where Star was, but out of nowhere…

BOOM!

That sound was heard by everyone.

"Fireworks!" Star and Marco gasped at the same time.

"Oh, yeah!" Angie said. "I forgot to tell you guys there was fireworks display for today's anniversary of Earth and Mewni cleaving together. So… there it is."

The engaged couple nodded at her with the smiles on their faces, and they looked at each other.

"Tonight is a greatest night for us." Marco said.

"And we're engaged, thanks to the surprise from you." Star said.

"I love you, Star Butterfly."

"I love you too, Marco Diaz."

Then they kissed each other that made everyone around them clap their hands together while the fireworks kept igniting in the night sky.

BONUS!

One week after Star and Marco's proposal, Marco opened his laptop to get access the internet. He went to the online-video-streaming website and opened his account.

As he checked out the latest video he uploaded days ago, a big smile formed on his face.

"Hey, Star!" He yelled happily.

Then the door of his room was opened by his fiancée.

"Yes, Marco?" Star said.

"Check this out!" He grinned, pointing at the screen of his laptop. "You're not gonna believe this."

Star looked at the screen and her eyes widened in shock.

"That's video of our engagement." She gasped. "Janna was right!"

"I know!"

"Wow! Six hundred fifty million views. Six million five hundred thousand likes. Six hundred fifty dislikes?"

That made Marco scoff. "They're just jealous of us, Star."

'Maybe those dislikers are shippers of my fiancée and her ex.' He thought.

"And six hundred fifty thousand comments!" Star smiled.

"Yep! Most of them congratulated us, obviously."

"You can earn money by that video, right?" She asked him.

"Of course." He replied. "We will use the money for our wedding and honeymoon."

"I'm sure our wedding and honeymoon will be amazing, Marco."

"Yeah." Marco nodded, then looking at his fiancée. "I love you, Star Butterfly."

Then Star looked at her fiancé back and touched his cheek. "I love too, Marco Diaz."

Then the engaged couple kissed other passionately.
