sorry for the delay in updating... college is hard. (Insert crying face emoji) . An extra long chapter to make up for it.
Dumbledore was not in his office at the moment, or he would have been able to hear the alarms that went off all over his office. But Fawkes did and also realised just who it was who had set them off. But Fawkes was very loyal to his original master and his bloodline, he would not be informing Dumbledore of the truth. By the time Dumbledore came back, the magical signature would have long vanished and Harry and his family would be safe, for now. Fawkes had all the time in the world, he would wait patiently for his actual master to arrive in the school. Dumbledore's time was coming to an end, and Fawkes would make sure, that this time, he couldn't cheat. Fawkes gave a trill and the portraits fell asleep, it wouldn't do to get complacent. With a low happy trill, he settled down to wait for Dumbledore to return and see how long it took for him to realize his precious pawn had disappeared.
Harry was overwhelmed. He had never before in his life, been on the receiving end of such affection or importance. But he was happy to receive it. He had been praying after all for so long, for his family to come and rescue him, and now they had. He would keep praying.
"Grandpa, do we have a bible?"
Everyone stopped eating and looked at Harry strangely.
Bella was the first to speak, "What for child?"
"Well," Harry was a little embarrassed now, "I just wanted to thank God for listening to my prayers of someone coming to rescue me from there before I died."
Everyone had a fierce angry expression on their face hearing Harry's words.
"Father, I am coming along." Lily declared defiantly. Even Tom knew better than to argue with her now. He just nodded.
"Where are you going?" Harry curiously asked.
"Don't you worry about that child. Now about your Bible, we worship different gods sweetheart."
"Different?" Harry wondered.
"Yes, different. The wizarding world has different Gods. We don't pray much, but when we do pray, it is to Lady Magic, Mother Nature and the Moon Goddess. After dinner, I will show you the ritual room and help you do the ritual for giving thanks. Is that okay?"
Harry was very intrigued and his eyes were glowing with interest. He happily nodded.
"Uh-oh. James your son is a Ravenclaw. He might have gotten Lily's brain." Sirius chuckled.
Lily smiled and cocked her head proudly. "Ofcourse he has my brain. If he had James' brain, he would be a dunderhead."
"Shut up Lily." James huffed.
"Oh quit sulking." She swatted at him.
Harry giggled at them and the whole table smiled at hearing the sweet sound. The rest of the dinner passed really good, with James deliberately doing annoying things and Lily pretending to be annoyed and Harry laughing at their antics, causing them to secretly be pleased with themselves.
Dumbledore had returned to his office, a little angry as he had not been able to do what he went out to do. Sirius was still nowhere to be found and neither was Remus or Peter. All the marauders were running rampant and any one of them could pop out of their hiding and ask for Harry's custody. His contacts had informed him that all of them were trying to find him discreetly, but Albus had him hidden so well, they hadn't been able to. Albus himself had been trying to apply for Harry's guardianship, but that required the Potter's will which he had gotten sealed because he knew it did not name him at all and he couldn't risk the will naming someone from the dark side at all which is obviously what would have happened, otherwise he would have let the will be read because he can easily control any light families the boy would have been placed with.
The issue at hand was that he needed to get his hands on the potter fortune. But that wasn't possible until Harry came of age, or if he was his guardian, which according to everyone he was, but not legally. So the goblins were not even listening to him, and if Fudge got wind that he was pretending to be Harry Potter's guardian, well all hell would break loose. For some reason the goblins just made him around every time he visited the bank and would give him a new excuse everytime he went, he was very confused as to what was happening. What Albus didn't know, was that the goblins knew Harry's parents were alive, so there was no way he could obtain the gold as he would need the signature of the owners of the vault. And what nobody in the magical world knew, except for Tom and his followers, the Goblins were firmly on the dark side. But Tom knew the ministry would demolish the bank if that came out, so he told them to say their stance was neutral and to pretend they weren't supporting the dark lord. The purebloods and the people on the dark side got great treatment from the goblins, but of course everyone thought that was because they were the bank's richest customers and the goblins could not offend them. The reason the GOblins were on the dark side, was because contrary to popular belief, the purebloods had no problem with the goblins. They actually considered them a very powerful race, not just them, they respected all the magical races and creatures, even werewolves.
Since he was so angry, Dumbledore did not notice the last of the beeping from his magical devices before they reset, so he did not find out that Harry had managed to escape. Fawkes noticed that and happily went off to sleep.
