Professor Glynda stared at her tablet. Watching a group of students knock a Deathstalker off of the cliff. She shook her head. "I don't care what his transcripts say. Jaune is not ready for this level of combat." She glanced at Professor Ozpin to see if she was heard.
Professor Ozpin ignored her and continued to stare off into the forest.
Glynda looked at her tablet and watched how another student was doing. She pulled up a closer view of Ruby, another student that Glynda did not approve of. Professor Ozpin had been making too many exceptions for acceptance recently.
Glynda watched as they tried to fight a nevermore.
Ruby was waiting patiently, She looked through her scope waiting for the nevermore to get in the right spot. The Nevermore screeched in annoyance as Yang Shot at it trying to draw it's attention. Weiss and Blake stood ready, waiting for the signal. The Nevermore now tired of getting pelted constantly unable to see it's attackers. It swooped down into the trees. The nevermore landed on the ground and looked around.
"Bang" A large amount of Ice formed around it's foot latching it onto the ground. It screeched as it tried to break the Ice that suddenly formed around its foot. Weiss ran forward and stabbed it's other foot with her rapier. Ice spread quickly, freezing the other foot in ice. It screeched and flung it's wings forward making gusts of air enough to make the trees bend and creak. "Now" Ruby yelled out. Yang and Blake dropped from the tree that was above the Nevermore and Blake swung her weapon around its wing. Trapping it to the tree. Yang landed on the birds' back attacking it yelling in joy as she held on.
The bird was annoyed, screeched and tried to free itself. Yang jumped down trying to avoid being flung off. She yelled down to her sister. "Guys we have a problem none of what we are doing is having an effect. It spun around freeing itself Launching Blake into the trees. She rolled and landed back on her feet. The bird ran at Weiss and began to attack her as she spun out of the way. Ruby began to shoot at the nevermore trying to draw it's attention. The Nevermore stopped and began to charge at Ruby. She quickly shifted her sniper to her scythe and swung at the bird hitting it's wing. Her scythe dug into its wing. It screeched and shook ruby off.
"My weapon" Ruby yelled as fell down to the ground, her weapon still in it's wing.
Ruby ignoring the danger quickly rushed back to the monster trying to get her weapon back. The Nevermore spotted her and went to attack her. Ruby was flung back.
"What were you thinking?" Weiss said holding onto Ruby.
"I need to get my weapon" Ruby said with worry, she could feel herself falling into a panic. Ruby was brought out of her stupor
"Get a hold of yourself, we need to move." Weiss said running dragging Ruby. The nevermore followed quickly behind. It knocked over all of the trees as it ran ignoring its surroundings. It hit Ruby and Weiss Knocking them to the ground.
Ruby sat on the ground and stared at the Nevermore as it moved closer to Weiss. "think Ruby Think, What would Mom do"
"Hey over here, you stupid bird" it looked at her
"Uh, hi" Ruby said running as fast as she could away. She tripped and fell. She turned to the Nevermore. It was looming over ready to kill its prey. Ruby stared at the bird, she didn't feel afraid.
"Crack", a shield hit the bird in the face knocking it back. Pyrrha landed in front of Ruby with her spear extended. She threw her spear into the birds eye and ran forwards as it thrashed around. Jaune helped Ruby up, "what's happened so far?"
"My weapon is still in it's wing. I need to get it back." Ruby said running forward to help Pyrrha. Jaune followed. The nevermore tired of the constant fighting tried to flee. Yang and Blake had also joined the fight trying to do as much as they could. Ruby yelled towards her sister and Blake. "Can you help me get my weapon back." Ruby said.
Yang gave her a thumbs up. Blake jumped up, spun with her weapon pulling herself to Ruby's weapon. She pulled it free and tossed it to Ruby. Ruby grabbed her scythe, "This is for taking my weapon," Ruby yelled as she spun her scythe at the birds neck. The Nevermore collapsed, still struggling to move.
The bird struggled as it slowly began to dissipate. Ruby collapsed in exhaustion relieved the fight was finally over. She looked over to Weiss who was still on the ground. "Weiss!" Ruby said running over to her partner.
"You okay?"
"No you dunce, I am not."
Ruby extended her hand to Weiss to help her up but Weiss ignored her hand and got up by herself. She looked at the destruction that happened around them. "Let's never do this again." She said, shaking her head.
"Sorry" Ruby said apologetically.
"We need to get the objective," She said walking back to the temple.
"Hey wait up," Ruby said, chasing after her.
"Hey guys look what I found" Nora said, running up to show everyone what she found. Jaune saw what was in her hands. It was a pile of chess pieces.
"So, should we tell Weiss or just wait and see what she says." Yang said looking towards where her sister and her partner had run off to.
"I think we shouldn't tell them it would be better." Blake said.
Yang laughed " I can see it now"
Weiss could be heard in the distance yelling in frustration.
Everyone laughed, glad to relax a little after fighting.
