Your probably wonder why is skipped an episode, because it was just too boring to try and write since it was just Tatsumi getting training from Sheele and I had no idea how work Max into so I decided to skip it and go to episode 6 which if you recall is when Seryu fought Mine and Sheele. So that being said don't hate me for this and I hope you enjoy it.
Chapter 7
Kill the Dog
It was now the middle of the night and Max and Steel were staring up at the night sky on the soft ground of the training area, enjoying the stars above. It been a day since Earth Elementor attacked and things were actually chill, well for everyone expect Max. Ever since he found out that Leone liked him, Max had some conflicting thoughts about this, yeah Leone was a nice girl and very attractive but the fact still remained that Max and her come from two different worlds and someday he will have to go back. How, he doesn't know but someday it will happen, but for now here he was staring at the sky with Steel.
"Hey Max?" Steel said getting his attention
"Yeah Steel?" Max asked
"You know something, almost half of their stars and exactly the same as ours" Steel said looking up
"Really?" Max asked surprised as he looked up at the stars, "Guess our worlds are alike in some ways" Max said
"Somehow I highly doubt that" a voice said above them
Looking up Max and Steel saw it was Najenda, looking down at them with a smile on her face.
"Enjoying the view?" She asked gesturing to the night sky
"You can say that" Steel said as Max and him got up from ground
"So what's up, are the others back yet?" Max asked
"No, not yet but actually there something I would like to talk to you two about" Najenda said
"What's up, another mission?" Max asked
"Sort of, you see Mine and Sheele were sent to the capital for an assassination mission, so to make sure they get back safe I was hoping you can be there escort" Najenda explained
"Really can't they handle themselves?" Steel asked
"Call it, being cautious since Sheele's face is on the wanted posters" Najenda said getting a nod from the Turbo duo.
"Okay, get in and get them out, easy" Max said
"I won't say that, you never know what might happen" Najenda said getting a nod from Max and Steel
"You can say that again" Steel said
Najenda then gave the coordinates to Max and Steel showing where they needed to meet Mine and Sheele. Once they got it, Max then changed to Flight mode and flew into the sky.
Meanwhile Leone and Tatsumi had just finished their mission in the Red Light District and were heading down the paved path in the park, while Tatsumi was happy that he and Leone were able to help those women but Leone wasn't even thinking about that, she actually thinking about Max and what he was doing. Leone also didn't want Tatsumi to come with her, although she did agree to train him after Sheele, in fact Leone wanted Max to come with her but Max refused to go for some odd reason.
"Hey Leone?" Tatsumi said snapping Leone out of her thoughts
"Yeah Tatsumi?" Leone asked wondering what the boy wanted
"You okay, you've been quiet for a while" he said
"Oh it's nothing, just thinking about the others" Leone said with a small smile
"Oh, okay" Tatsumi said as he walked ahead
Once he was ahead, Leone's smile fell a little as she looked up at the moon, thinking back yesterday Max has been kind of distant from her since the Elementor mission. Seeing this she couldn't help but be worried about him, wondering what could make him so distant from her.
'Max what is going on' Leone thought looking up at the moon.
On the other side of the Capital Mine and Sheele were running through the park after just finishing their mission.
"That Ceberu character was so obnoxiously careful I thought we'd never track him down" Mine said, slightly agitated
"Hey at least we completed the mission on time" Sheele added
Of course unknown to them, another individual was standing in a nearby tree looking down at them with a devious grin, once she saw them entering the court yard she then jumped from her tree. When the induvial did this Mine and Sheele saw the person out of the corner of their eye and quickly got out of the way, just as the person landed on the ground causing it to shatter under the impact.
"Who is that? Is it an enemy? I couldn't sense her at all!" Mine said reading pumpkin
"She was able to conceal her aura; she must be on a whole other level" Sheele said, unsheathing Extasa
Looking at their assailant, they saw that she wore armor and a uniform of an Imperial Guard, minus a helmet and had orange hair tied into a ponytail. Also right by her feet was a small dog like "thing" with stubby arms and legs. The girl then pulled out a wanted poster and quickly gave it a once over, clearly identified one of them as Sheele.
" I know you, you're the girl from the wanted posters. Sheele of Night Raid I presume?" the girl said causing the two of them to tense up, "And I guess judging by her weapon she must be from Night Raid too" She said looking over at Mine
The girl then gained a sadistic smile on her face and she started cackling with glee, and just by standing there they could even see her bloodthirst as rocks started to float around her.
"If I have never took night patrol I would never found the two of you. Finally, you have no idea how long I've wanted to meet you Night Raid, I'm Imperial Guard Seryu Ubiquitous and in the name of absolute justice, I will banish your evil right here and now!"
I few miles away, Max and Steel were on their way to the rendezvous point in Flight Mode. Along the way Max couldn't help but think about Leone. I mean yay, she and him were good friends, but still if he were to get in a relationship with her it would break her heart when he went back home and he couldn't do that. Although thinking about, maybe just maybe he could take her home with him but then again she might feel bad about leaving home.
"Geez, talk about a rock and hard place" Max said
"What?" Steel said confused by Max's statement
"Oh, it's nothing" Max replied but Steel can already guess what Max was thinking
"Were you thinking about Leone again?" Steel asked causing Max to sigh confirming Steel's statement, "Max, I really think you should try with her" Steel said causing Max to groan
"I can't Steel, I just…" Max started to say until Steel cut him off
"Don't want to break her heart, yeah you told me that, but you not acknowledging her feelings is going to break heart anyway" Steel said
Max then went wide eyed at this, he never considered that. Now thinking about he now realizes he was being a jerk without realizing it.
"Ah man, I'm idiot" Max said smacking his palm against his forehead.
"I'll say, but no time for that we're arriving at the rendezvous point" Steel said snapping Max from his thoughts
The park where they were supposed to meet Mine and Sheele came up ahead, and once it was in sight Max and Steel both used the their zoom feature and saw the two assassins down below, but also they saw some else and seemed ready to fight the other two assassins.
"What the? What's going on down there?" Max asked
"I don't know, but judging by that girls uniform, I suspect not one of the good guys" Steel said
Then down below Max and Steel then saw Mine point her weapon at the armored individual and let lose a barrage of blasts at her, only to their surprise, a white dog looking creature came out and went in front of the armored figure causing a huge cloud of smoke.
"What the heck was that?" Max asked just as the smoke blew away
"I think were about to find out" Steel said as the smoke lifted
When it did, to say they were surprised was quite the right word because when the cloud cleared they saw that the dog had grown twice the size of the orange haired girl and the bullet holes it received were already closing up fast.
"Woah that is one tough puppy" Max said looking at the scene bellow
"Yeah, but I think this thing is more than a dog" Steel said
The orange haired girl then pulled out two tonfas and held them out and to their shock, started to spray bullets at the two assassins but they quickly dodged out of the way, seeing that her attack wasn't working the orange haired girl the shouted something at the giant dog-creature causing it to launch its self forward and shocking speeds and opened its mouth revealing millions of razor sharp teeth, all coming at Sheele.
"Look out Sheele!" Max shouted even though she couldn't hear him due to how far he was
But as if she did hear him, Sheele then quickly struck the dog monster causing a good part of its mouth to be split apart, causing the massive monster to fall over and crash into a lamp post.
"Ouch that's got to hurt, but at least the dogs out of the way" Max said
"Somehow I don't think so" Steel replied
"How so? It looks like they got this in the bag" Max said
"Because doggy's owner doesn't look worried at all" Steel said and true to his word he was right.
The orange haired girl didn't look worried at all and still kept a hard look on her face, even as Sheele approached her. But before she could come any further, the large dog creature then stood back up causing Sheele to turn back around just as the large dog was about chomp down on her. But before that could happen Mine then shot a blast at the creature, sending it skidding across the ground back to his owner, leaving a large burnt hole in its back only to heal back up along with its mouth.
"Max, I think we should intervene" Steel said looking at the large dog
"Yeah maybe, but the question is, do we go after the dog or the owner?" Max asked
But there question was soon answered when the orange haired girl then said something to the dog thing, then suddenly the creature then sprouted new arms where its stumpy ones were only these ones were more muscular and longer as well as its main body was more bulker and bigger.
"Dog" Max said
"Dog" Steel said
Max then took a nose dive heading straight for the battle.
Down below the dog creature then rushed Mine and Sheele while delivering a flurry of punches at them. Sheele ran in front of Mine and raised her weapon in front of her and blocked the attack. But while Sheele was trying hold back the onslaught of the creature Seryu held a wicked grin as she raised a whistle of sorts to her mouth, until.
"Back off Fido!" a voice yelled catching Seryu attention as well as the member of Night Raid
All of sudden a white and blue blur came at the dog creature making it skid back to Seryu, shock her.
'WHAT! How did someone mange to push back Koro in bulk mode?!' Seryu thought looking at what caused it
There hovering a few inches off the ground was Max himself with his arms crossed.
"Max! What took you so long!?" Mine shouted at him as Max changed back to base mode
"Yeah, sorry about that, I thought you two can handle this, my bad" Max said embarrassed
"No need, were just glad you're here" Sheele said with a smile,
"Please, miss Sheele, it's our duty and pleasure" Steel said from his chest plate
"You! Who are you to stand in the way of justice?!" Seryu shouted at Max causing him to look at her
"Oh where are my manners, the name is Max Steel and you are?" Max said as Seryu gave Max a death glare
"I am Seryu Ubiquitous, Imperial Guard and if you are aligned with scum that is Night Raid, you too will be destroyed by the hand of Justice!" Seryu shouted at him with crazed look in his eye
"Justice? This girl seems a little cuckoo" Steel said making a cuckoo clock sound
"Koro! Turning them into a bloody pulp!" Seryu shouted at the now named Koro
Koro then let out roar as he charged at Max with his fist raised.
"Incoming!" Steel shouted as Max crossed his arms and shouted.
"GO TURBO, STRENGTH"
After quickly changing, Max then grabbed a hold of Koro's fists causing the ground to crack underneath from the impact as Max wrestled with the monster dog. Seeing this Sheele and Mine were surprised to see Max was able hold off the Koro while they had some trouble, while Seryu looked furious seeing her precious Koro outmatched by this "Max Steel".
'I won't allow this stranger to stand in the way of justice!' Seryu thought as she raised her whistle again and blew into it letting out a high pitch sound catching the other three's attention.
"Shoot, she called for reinforcements!" Mine said gritting her teeth
"And judging by that clock and our distance from city as say we don't have long" Steel said
"Then let's end this quick" Max said as pumped more Turbo energy into his suit
Max then flung Koro's arms above he's head giving Max an quick opening, as he started delivering a barrage of punches to the dog's midsection until sending a Turbo powered fist into Koro's chest sending it skidding across the ground until stopping. But as Koro got back up, the wounds that Max dealt to it already started to heal back up and seemed to anger the dog more.
"Ah man, that was my best Sunday punch" Max said
"How's that thing evening doing that?" Steel said trying to scan the strange beast
"It's an Imperial Arms" Mine said catching there attention
"Really, that thing?" Max said pointing at the snarling behemoth
"Yeah, an organic one, they have special core that must be taken out to destroy it or else it will be regenerating" Mine explained
"We don't have time for that, we need end this fight fast" Max said
"Then may I suggest, restraint" Steel said gaining a nod from Max
"Good call, if we can't beat it up, we'll hold it down" Max said
"How? That thing is too big and strong to hold down" Sheele said
"Well, you know what they say" Steel said as Max smirked under his helmet
"There is strength in numbers!" Max added, hering this Seryu just laughed
"Please, I checked the area, there's no one here but me and you three" Seryu said
"Oh really, you better check again" Max said making the three girl confused, even Koro as he coked his head.
That wasn't until Max crossed his arms again and shouted.
"GO TURBO, CLONE"
Then the same flash of light appeared again, only this one was brighter as the three others covered their eyes. Once it was over the others then looked to see what had happened, at first it looked like Max had gone back to base mode only this time with light blue replacing the black parts on his armor. But taking a closer look the three girls were shocked to see that there was not one but millions of Max's across the clearing all in different fighting poses.
"What?! You can clone yourself?!" Mine shouted as Mine and Sheele looked around themselves at the amount of Max clones around them.
"There are so many and they all look exactly alike, an instant army" Sheele added
"You got that right, nothing better than an army of me!" one of Max's said
Then with one big shout, the army of Max's then charged at Koro while Seryu snarled at this.
"Koro, crush them all!" she shouted as Koro engaged the army
Koro then started smash one clone after another but instead leaving a bloody mess, when one of the clones were destroyed they just left a cloud of blue mist in its place. Even though the clones weren't very durable they were now starting to overwhelm Koro as they started to cling to different parts of him and were starting to weigh him down.
"Oh no, Koro is outnumbered I need get rid of them fast" Seryu said raising his guns to fire
But before she could Sheele then came up behind her causing her to turn her attention toward her.
"You know the thing about weapons, they can't move if the user is dead" Sheele said
Seryu then pointed her guns at her ready to shoot.
'Crud, she was after me the whole time' Seryu thought
'I've got no choice I've got to use my trump card' Sheele thought as she shouted
"Extasa!"
The scissors then let out a brilliant glow causing Seryu to cover her face with her arms.
"What, how is her weapon making that much light" Seryu said
As the light died down, Sheele was now in striking distance of her as let loose a barrage of stabs at Seryu only to her shock to be blocked by Seryu's weapons.
'She's strong without her weapon' Sheele thought as Seryu jumped away from Sheele as she gave chase
Koro then saw his master was being attacked and tried to go help her only to held back as more Max's started pile on him, causing him go down to one knee under the weight.
"Oh no you don't, you're staying right here" one of the Max's said as they continue to dog pile, well…the dog.
Meanwhile Seryu was doing her best to avoid Sheele's strikes, but as she blocked one of her strikes one of her weapons were forced out of her hand causing her to lose it.
'Now's my chance' Sheele said charging at her
But Seryu then raised her arms in defense only to be chopped off by Sheele, as Seryu let out a cry of pain.
'She sacrificed her arms to avoid that fatal strike!' Sheele thought
"True justice, will always win!" She shouted
To Sheele's shock, Seryu then pulled out another gun, this time from the hole where her arm once was.
'That's part of her body!' she yelled in her head
"It was gift from Captain Ogre, just for you!" Seryu shouted with a sadistic smile and fired the weapon with a loud bang
But to Seryu's horror Sheele blocked the bullet with her weapon, evident by the black mark on the blade.
'She blocked it' Seryu thought looking at her failed attempt to kill her
Sheele then swung the blade around and quickly cut off more of Seryu's arms, as well as the guns attached to them making her cry out in pain. But as she fought through the pain, she than gave Sheele a wicked grin.
"I'm not done yet" Seryu said
'If I do this Koro will overheat and won't be able to move for a while, ah screw it' Seryu thought
Meanwhile Max and his clones were just about done, evident by the massive pile of Max's on Koro now.
"Just one more push and that should do it" one of the Max said
"Good, and once Sheele is done with that guard we can…" Mine said until Seryu's voice came from the tree line shouting.
"KORO! USE YOUR TRUMP CARD! GO BERSERK"
"Berserk? That doesn't sound good" Steel said
And true to his words, Koro eyes then went red and bloodshot, his body began to grow bigger, and his fur was turning red. Then without no trouble at all Koro then shock off the Max clones off him, causing them to turn into clouds of blue mist as Koro stood back up. Once he was back on his feet Max and Mine couldn't help but gawk at Koro's transformation.
"Some one seems a little cranky, how about I get you a nice chew toy?" Max said to the giant dog
In response Koro then let a huge roar causing the three people to cover their ears, unfortunately the Max clones were not so luck as they all started popping under the strain of Koro's roar leaving the original.
"Great, this thing has a trump card" Mine said
"And a nasty one too" Max said
"Ragging red doggy coming at us!" Steel informed them as Koro came at them causing Max to quickly shout.
"GO TURBO, STRENGTH"
Max then quickly changed back to strength mode and charged at the large dog, only to his shock Koro then swatted Max away like a fly sending him crashing into a lamp post as he groaned in pain.
"Ow, the bigger they are…" Max said
"The harder they hit" Steel finished
As they got back up they saw Mine was caught by the giant dog and was being held in its fist.
"Mine!" Max shouted
"Hold on Mine!" Sheele shouted from the trees
"Good boy, NOW SQUEEZE!" Seryu shouted as Koro tighten his grip on Mine causing her cry out in pain.
"Hold on!" Max shouted rushing the giant dog
He then jumped into the air landed a good solid punch in Koro's eye, causing him let go of Mine as Sheele ran ahead and grabbed a hold of her and got out of the way of the raging beast as well as Max.
Once they were a good distance away, Max then stared down the large dog as it made it's why towards them.
"Max, this thing is way too strong for us now, even in strength mode!" Steel said
"Yeah, I got that, not mention I'm running kind of low on Turbo" Max said
"Then what do we do?" Sheele asked
"YOU DIE!" Seryu shouted stepping out from the tree's with crazed look on her face.
"Or not, Max we still have enough Turbo energy for one "certain" transform" Steel said
"How much?" Max asked
"One shot, let's make it count" Steel said as Max nodded in agreement
Max then ran ahead and stood in front of Koro as he changed back to base mode.
"Max! Come back!" Sheele shouted at him
"Ha, you have death wish of something!" Seryu shouted at him
But Max wasn't listening as he crossed his arms and shouted.
"GO TURBO, CANNON"
The same flash of light appeared again as Max changed forms again, once it died down, the girls were surprised by Max's new look. He suit was huge now, with heavily armored platting on his arms and legs and his body was encased in large round shell with a little slit showing his helmet inside.
"Alright then Fido, time to go back in the Pound!" Max shouted
Max then let out a shout causing his suit to glow blue causing the two girls to cover their eyes from the brightness.
"KORO! FINISH HIM!" Seryu shouted causing Koro to rush at Max
But before he could reach him, Max then crouched down and with one good push he then launched himself at the dog as he curled his body into ball. Koro and Max kept charging at each other causing the others to look on in anticipation. But then Max then made impact causing a large shockwave to ring out causing Koro to be sent flying backwards and into the nearby clock, causing it to crumble and fall right on Koro. After Max made impact he then quickly stopped by planting his feet into the ground as he looked at his work, hoping that was enough. Meanwhile all the other girls were in shock, with Seryu being the most with her mouth hanging open.
"Woah, that just…whoa" Mine said looking at the devastation done by Max's new mode did
"Yeah, Cannon mode, good name" Sheele said looking at Max's handiwork
Of course while they were looking, a small pile of rubble started to move, causing Mine and Sheele to stiffen up as well as Max while Seryu grin slowly returned. But out of rubble came not the hulking behemoth but a small tiny white dog looking quite dazed, evident by the wobble in his step. Even as Koro walked out of wreckage as he then fell face down with a groan, feeling the impact from Max's Cannon Mode, causing Seryu's smile to drop back to shock, seeing her precious Koro beat like this.
"Haha, Cannon Mode gets them every time!" Max declared banging his chest making a clanging sound
Hearing this Seryu's face then turned from shock to rage as she stared daggers at Max.
"HOW DARE YOU!" Seryo shouted catching the three of them, especially Max
"What, what did I do?" Max asked causing to anger Seryu more
"YOU PIEACE OF NIGHT RAID FILITH, HOW DARE YOU STAND IN WAY OF TRUE JUSTICE!" Seryu shouted at him causing Max to frown under his helmet
"True Justice? I don't know if you know this or not but this city doesn't know what justice looks like if it bit them on the nose" Max said
Of course after he said this, a little ping went off on his armors chest, causing Max to look down to a bullet on the ground. Then looking back at Seryu, Max then saw she had a gun in her mouth and was smoking after being shot but seeing it did nothing to Max the gun then went back further into her throat as she closed her mouth in a sneer.
"SHUT UP, YOU KNOW NOTHING NIGHT RIAD SCUM!" Seryu shouted at him
Just then the girls as well as Max heard to sound of rapid approaching footsteps, heading toward their location.
"Looks like her back up is here" Steel said
"Then let's get gone" Max said making their way back to Mine and Sheele, looking down they saw Mine laying on her back and had a broken arm, judging by the amount of blood pouring from her arm.
"You okay?" Max asked as Mine gave them a weak nod
"I'll live" Mine said
"We best go, before things get out of hand" Sheele said getting a nod from Max
"Yeah, I'm a quarter away empty here, we better leave" Max said as crossed his arms.
"GO TURBO, FLIGHT"
Max then quickly changed into Flight mode and took hold of Sheele and Mine as he lifted up into the sky, leaving and angered Seryu and group of confused guards.
"Miss Seryu, what happened here?" A guard asked but she no attention to the guard but instead walked over to Koro and sat down next to him as she looked up at the night sky.
"Max Steel, one day you will rue the day you stood in my way and when that day comes…YOU WILL FACE JUSTICE LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!" Seryu shouted into the sky scaring the guards as she laughed like a maniac at the thought of seeing Max in a bloody mess on the ground.
After a long flight, Max, Sheele and Mine had made their way back to the base where the rest of Night Raid was waiting for them, once they landed they instantly saw that Mine was badly hurt and took her inside to be treated. Once inside Najenda then asked what had happened on their mission, and explained everything, from there fight with Seryu to the moment where Max single handily took down her Imperial Arms and even told them about Max's new Turbo Mode's. After explaining the others were quite surprised to hear about these new modes, especially Cannon Mode seeing how it was able to take on an Imperial Arms head to head and win.
"Well then…Max, Steel you are dismissed" Najenda said surprising them
"What? Just like that?" Max asked confused as well as Steel
"Yes, that's it" Najenda replied
And with that Max and Steel left the meeting room as the other members of Night Raid stayed behind, each of them with a look of debate on all their faces. As Max and Steel were now out of the room, all the members of Night Raid couldn't help but think one thing.
"You think they can do it?" Akame asked
"I don't know, but it seems that your new found ally is more powerful than we thought" Najenda replied while others looked at where Max had went.
Leone then looked over at Sheele and up until now, she noticed smoothing different about her.
"Hey, Sheele where's your weapon?" Leone asked gaining a confused look from her, until Sheele realized something.
"Oh No! I forgot Extasa back at the Capital; I must have dropped in the rush. I'm such an airhead" Sheele said looking degraded as the others looked at her and sweat dropped at this.
Meanwhile, as the sun rose in the distance over the Capital, on a cliff not too far away was a large lizard like beast that seemed to be chained up and on top of it back was young women, wearing a white and black military outfit, with part of the jacket open showing off her ample cleavage as well as a strange tattoo on her chest, she also had long flowing blue hair and striking blue eyes. This was General Esdeath, one the Capital's greatest generals and most deadly as well.
"The Capital, I'm finally back" she said staring out at the city, ready to begin her new mission at home.
