The Boy and the Transversal Flute

Lincoln wakes up and finds a flute on his desk. He plays it only to be met with a puff of smoke and a voice. Then a girl named Kyouka meets him and tells Lincoln she is a tsukumogami. Having arrived in his world through unknown circumstances, she then asks Lincoln to be her temporary partner which he accepts. From this point on he is an Exorcist!

7. Brief Lull

It had been 2 days since the incident. Yet the media circus hadn't died. Newspaper articles and reports have flooded the masses, with tales of the supernatural happening in the small town.

That was not to say the internet wasn't included. The story was all they talked about and it looked like this wasn't gonna die down anytime soon. The "Exorcist" which was a name given by a random user to the brief silhouette and has stuck ever since.

The police and curious individuals have been hard at work on finding the truth on this person. Their only evidence was a 50/50 photo that was still blurred despite all efforts at getting a clearer picture.

Meanwhile behind the scenes. Someone with an unknown agenda and objective was stalking our heroes.

Walking down the streets of Royal Woods was a strange character. Given clear passage by any who encountered him for invoking its wrath if disturbed. In a smiling mask, tuxedo, top hat, with a pair of gloves white on the left and black on right, and black lace up shoes cut the image of a sinister character.

To add with the getup was the laughter he made whenever someone spoke to him. It was enough to send a shiver down your spine. Not to mention it was the only way he could talk!

The name of the person is unknown and referred as only Smiling Saint. It was given to him on account of the laughter and that he only smiled.

The mission today was observing Lincoln. His exploit had not gone unnoticed. The organization Saint worked had taken a keen interest in him, especially having defeated a minor monster easily.

Another factor that piqued their interest was the Curse in the area. When it first came to their world via small tear, it had not been noticed by anyone. Yet leaving it alone allowed it to spread and infect the wildlife in the area.

The information gathering was successful, having taken enough to bring back to his superiors. Saint then turned to an alley. Waiting for him was a girl in traditional Japanese clothing with a mini gate on her head. After briefly greeting each he held her and both looked at the wall before disappearing.
