Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or its characters; that right belongs to Hiro Mashima.
Author's Notes: Based on CoLu Week 2015, Prompt Family (Slight AR Lahar never died). And for the sake of this story (it pains me greatly as Lahar is one of my BAE's of FT) will be the obvious bad guy. So if you do not like that, I politely ask you to turn around andleave now because I don't see the point in you wasting your time and mine.
Lucy hummed as she looked out over the backyard through the kitchen window. It had been just over a week since they'd all moved into the two-story brownstone. She had watched her friends and guildmates adjust and enjoy themselves and learn the hard way about the types of ruins that had been placed throughout the house. It had been a great source of dark humor for her. Though, the first person to try and break into the fridge had been a shocker after everyone had rushed to the kitchen after a loud piercing shriek had awoken them.
Laxus had felt hungry and had unconsciously had gone for a midnight snack. The sight of him passed out with a scrunched-up face had Lucy biting her bottom lip to keep from laughing as she corralled the others to stop laughing. But it had been a nice lesson for everyone else. Now it was time to deliver the next piece of news because she was going to be a good parent to all of them. Lucy was well aware of each of their past after the years of being around them. Each had a deep scar that was well hidden in their hearts. The loss of a parent in the form of a dragon for five of them, and the hell the last one had gone through with a shithead for a father.
Cobra was out there having a mock tussle with them and looked like he wanted to paralyze them all for it. But Lucy wasn't fooled, his single eye let her know he was enjoying this, since he never got the chance to be a child, per say, like Erza and others who grew up in the Tower. Lucy felt (in a way) that she owed them a childhood. And Lucy planned to deliver this and had some serious clout backing her on this. Humming as she finished the last of the Lunch dishes, she knew that her guest would be arriving.
In the time she had been setting up the house with runes, she had queued Freed, and he had been frank about many things. And the way his eyes had lit up at being given a chance as she wanted having Lucy feeling pride in her fellow guildmate. From there, Freed had talked to Levy, who had spoken to Juvia, which led to her contacting Totomaru. All while Lucy had made a personal call to a very dear friend, Princess Hisui E. Fiore. The idea of setting up tutors for her little herd of mini-dragon slayers had seriously pleased both the former King and the Princess herself.
Then again, Lucy didn't want to be pulling teeth from a reluctant Totomaru, but she told him she would owe him a major favor. Ever since the Phantom Lord incident, Tototmaru had a strong dislike for Natsu. And she knew that was putting it very lightly. But he had (after she had Hisui contact him) agreed to assess all of the slayers to see where their education levels were sitting at. But Lucy hadn't been too surprised when he had gone one and suggested formal training in magic, both application, and theory, on top of both hand to hand and martial combat. Then again, Lucy was aware that Rogue knew how to use a sword, which she kept locked in her room under many spells.
"Hime?"
Blinking as she set the last dish in the dish strainer, Lucy turned to look at Virgo, who had an amused Totomaru behind her. Feeling a bit of heat rush to her ears and cheeks, Lucy let her head dip in hello to the Fire mage.
"Shall we? I want to get this done before dinner; Juvia had offered to cook for me."
Jerking her head up, Lucy smiled widely as she gave Totomaru a knowing look. The moment he looked away, his face turning a rather becoming shade of red, Lucy knew she had guessed right. But now it was time to gather her little minions into the house and break the news to them. And she was eager to see their reactions and quell any dissent that may arise because she still had that promise she made with them about giving them to the Magic Council until they either grew up again or the spell wore off. In her book counted as a contracted promise, and a Celestial Mage was all about their word!
