The witch in red

Sometime in the past

Rain started to fall on her grey hair but strangely it didn't hurt… it didn't burn.

-Wh…where I'm am?

The scenery was strange, the threes were green not muddy brown or orange as if they as if they were overflowing with life. Even if it were raining the woman could tell that it was daytime; the place was light enough to be almost noon she though. However, she could also tell she was not in the boiling isles anymore, not only because of the rain but there was this feeling in the air...she didn't have the sensation of being chased or watched…

All these unfamiliar surroundings make the grey hair witch feel anxious… and that feeling rose to critic numbers when she noticed that her red dress was ragged in some places and…

"Blood… I have blood in my hands… oh dear titan."

Suddenly she started to feel sick… very sick. Her head started to spin and her stomach hurt like it was burning from the inside.

"I'm gonna…"

The witch puked some weird substance in the dirt.

Even if it was mixed whit her bile, she could distinguish some orange in all the mess.

"That's … elixir, but how?"

Of course, she would remember if she had taken the elixir, but the last think, she could remember is being lost somewhere in the isles… she was hungry and whit no snails to buy the elixir she just run away from everybody… even if the people of the isles turned their back at her she didn't want to kill anyone.

So many questions… where she was? Why didn't the rain hurt? And who gave her the elixir?

"Owlbert!"

Her palisman! she tried to call him, but the staff didn't answer… however she could feel the presence of the little owl somewhere near… north.

She mastered all the strength she could gather and proceed to venture her way into the weird green woods.

While walking she started to notice some things… It was strange she felt a terrible hunger before all of this but now… now the only pain she felt was a muscular one… as if she was running all night long. She cheked her body to see if she had some injury that needed some patching. After a while she was sure…. the blood wasn't hers… she didn't find any wound on her arms or other part of her body… but If the blood wasn't hers…

she tried to keep that thought aside … she didn't want to think she hurt somebody … or even worse.

"Focus Eda… maybe it is from a weird animal… yeah maybe that's why I feel sick… maybe I eat some rodents…" that would also explain the lack of hunger.

She kept walking towards north… eventually she saw an old house or cabin… the wood was rotten but maybe it could be used as an improvised shelter. She needed to rest somewhere.

Eda started to feel dizzy again but this time instead of puking she fell right into the dirt.

"ahg… crap"

when she was trying to get up. she noticed her face reflected on a puddle of muddy water.

She didn't have any scars or wounds on her face also she didn't have any owl-like features on her face either, but she did have something quite disturbing in her face…

She saw blood across her mouth as if she were trying some horrible makeup.

Eda would have lost it right there if she didn't saw the little Owlbert peeking his face from the frame of the old cabin.

She gets up somehow and run towards him. Once she was inside the old shaft, she hugged the palisman. It was a relief to see a familiar face.

"Oh, Owlbert I'm so happy to see you, did you get me an elixir buddy?"

The wooden owl denied the question whit his head.

"Then who?"

"That would be me!" a furry demon whit a skull on his face (or skull like head, she wasn't sure) appeared from beside an old couch "kneel before me witch because I, King the… eh… king of all demons helped you!"

Chapter end notes

This is the short chapter I mentioned. It needed to be its own chapter because otherwise it would have damaged the flow of the history. Don't worry I'm working in the "main chapter" too.
