The next day, Olivia tried to avoid watching the news channels. It was Fitz birthday, and it was so awkward seeing him on television with his wife and kids. Unfortunately, the only things on tv were Fitz birthday coverage and the news of the plane crash. Her team was starting to wonder why she was so emotional. Olivia fell on the ground crying at the plane crash site yesterday. She had never seen anything so horrible. The smell of burning metal and sadness everywhere. Abby and Huck whispered about her emotional state and Harrison reached for her hand lifting her off the ground. He told her gladiators don't cry. This wasn't how Olivia imagined her life would be away from Vermont. There had to be a better world that Jake could have chosen for the bored housewife. Since Jake told Olivia about the government project, she had done her own research. The closest thing she could find was something about a declassified time travel project. This was different. She wasn't traveling through time. This was parallel universes. Now, she wished that she would have chosen some theoretical physics classes as electives instead of higher level political science classes. At least then she would have a superficial understanding of whatever this was. Right now, she could only guess that the Olivia from this world was living her life in Vermont. Olivia looked up when Quinn walked in her office.
"Hello Quinn."
"I know the plane belongs to Verna Thornton."
"I really don't know what you are talking about."
"Hollis Doyle ruined my life. You know everything. I want you to tell me how and why you chose me?"
"Do you ever daydream about living a different life?"
"I had a different life. You changed everything."
"In my daydreams, I'm arguing with my husband about what flavor jam he wants me to make for dessert. Can you believe our biggest arguments are about jam?"
"That's a nice fairytale."
"He works for the Governor of Vermont and I'm a housewife."
"Quinn!" Huck yelled.
"I have to go."
When Olivia was alone in her office, she covered her face with her hands and cried. Why couldn't she be happy with this new life? She was very successful. She wasn't ready to go back to her life, not yet, there had to be something good about this reality.
