Chapter 86- Weiss and Ruby start their investigation of the facility. They encounter signs of battle, dead bodies that nobody has cleaned away and a series of strange incidents including unnatural noises, displaced corpses and the apparent appearance of zombies roaming around.
Blake and Yang, slightly unnerved, climb the slope after Fowler to an abandoned building, filled in occult talismans and strange symbols. As they step in, they are overwhelmed by a malevolent aura.
Yang tries to convince Blake to stay behind, but the girl firmly protests against it. After the faunus convinces Yang they move in, unaware of the numerous Grimm observing them from the foggy forest around.
Chapter 87- Erik finds Lumia unconscious and helps her back to her feet. After that, they get attacked by the cleaner who engulfs them in a mass of black goo containing the dying thoughts of Riverside residents. They emerge out, only to find the hospital in a bloody, ruined state.
Ren and Nora fall into a suddenly created pit while fighting off Pyrrha's clone. The monster goes after them and Van Ochre's copy leaves while reminiscing how it slaughtered the entire building when it woke up.
Meanwhile Velvet receives a call for help from Jaune. Despite her being fully suspicious of the boy's motives, she can't bring herself to ignore it and drives towards Vale Cemetery to meet with him.
Chapter 88- Shaken from the walking corpse, Ruby and Weiss start to suspect the place was never a power plant to begin with.
They come upon strange findings and decayed corpses they saw move before their very eyes, before they get attacked by a group of zombies after they discover a well-concealed altar inside a room.
Walking further in, Blake and Yang discover the facility was built atop a temple. As they struggle to fight off the rising dread, they get attacked by a Displacer; a panther Grimm with whip-like tails. They manage to barely overcome it after Blake pulls a risky move with her clones.
Chapter 89- Exploring the third floor, Lumia and Erik find more trails of slaughter. As they investigate, Lumia reveals she is actually a Spawn of Avyssos and attacks him.
Revealing he knew all along, the boy turns the tables on it with actual Lumia's help. They kill the monster and move down, as the floor behind them transforms into an abyssal, hungry maw that hunts them.
In the dungeons below the hospital, Ren and Nora find themselves in a morgue. The Pyrrha spawn corners Ren and forces Nora to absorb an electrical generator's power in order to help him.
Chapter 90- Ruby and Weiss seal the zombies inside the room. They continue their search and find a large prison for test subjects. They get attacked by zombies and an unseen enemy, cutting down the undead in regret. As they walk away, they hear someone breathing inside a cell.
With their instincts screaming them to leave this place, Blake and Yang delve deeper inside. They find Cherry captured and Fowler and his team being turned to zombies.
After freeing the unconscious girl, they get intimidated by Azure who is talking to them through the assistants. Their talk is interrupted by the sudden arrival of the cyclopean Hag Grimm and the flying apparitions.
Chapter 91- Confused from not being hunted, Erik and Lumia find the archives. The tall girl salvages data from security cameras and they both see the hospital massacre of 29th December unveil before their eyes.
Before they finish their work, the room is turned into a void maze full of Grimm Spawn that attempt to attack them. They manage to escape by breaking the floor and falling down the same pit Ren and Nora had.
Meanwhile, isolated in a cell, Jaune Arc does his daily routine while reminiscing of the events that led him there that cold December day. As he prepares to meditate, the familiar smell of ozone reaches his nose.
Chapter 92- Weiss and Ruby find a survivor- Martina Waite, a student of Lakkard, being kept as test subject. After freeing her, they enter the door leading them to Azure's main laboratory.
Trying to escape, Blake and Yang tear down a magical barrier. They are lost in time, living old memories of Cornfield as a mighty voice explains them how humans worshipped it and how they betrayed it after Salem sealed it inside the temple, harnessing its power without repaying it.
They wake up with jumbled memories. As their senses return they see a towering, horned shadow with a Grimm-breeding pool in its chest. It is the Grand Mother's body, surrounded and worshipped by monsters.
Chapter 93- After Cherry explains them that she made a bounded field for them to hide in, they agree to work together. As they discuss how to act, Grand Mother's chains start breaking and the barrier starts to fall.
Ruby's team enters the lab. They find a broken vat, destroyed machines and all personnel executed by Azure who is missing. Suddenly, the dead move and the man talks to the girls through them about his semblance and how it allows him to animate and control the dead.
After calling him a maniac and a fool for supporting Merlot's ideas, the professor brings in a protoplasmic mass of black goo and swirling flesh; experiment 009, an artificial Eldergrimm created to kill intruders.
Chapter 94- Ruby and Weiss fight against the monster and its immense regeneration powers while guarding Martina. After an exhausting fight, they manage to defeat it with a powerful combo attack.
In an underground depot, Azure is getting ready to leave with all of his data. Using the Valkraghast's tracking abilities Ruby and Weiss find him and defeat his guard zombies. In an act of desperation, the man tries to use a special concoction to control Grand Mother- and dies on the spot.
Chapter 95- There is no chapter- just me replying to an anonymous comment and asking about whether I should write this summary or not.
Chapter 96- Cherry deduces that Azure is using the underwater canals to infuse the temple with anti-magic gas. Blake and Yang try to find the exit, only for the cat girl to fall prey to Grand Mother's illusions. She is saved by Yang at the last moment and is told that they found a way out.
Meanwhile, the Eldergrimm births goat-skulled spawns who hunt them. Cherry begins her sealing ritual and the bumblebee duo muster all their stamina to reach her in time. As they do, she sends them off and stays behind to seal the Grand Mother, since her time has not yet arrived.
Chapter 97- Full of regret for leaving Cherry behind and for their subpar performance in the mission, Blake and Yang walk the canals. Blake tells her partner about Glynda choosing her as her successor and how much this has been weighting on her mind.
While the blonde counters her arguments, they find a primitive temple, with a carved stellar map and statues. They solve the map and find a crypt with a corpse wearing a Grimm talisman and holding a ceremonial dagger. Before they leave, the Hag Grimm appears in a state of frenzy.
Chapter 98- The girls attempt to stealthily bypass the frenzied beast. They fail and a brutal battle breaks out, where both the humans and the Grimm engage in bloody hand-to hand combat. They finally defeat the beast when Ruby weakens it with the help of a blue concoction.
As they drive away from Cornfield in Azure's van, Ruby and Blake talk about both Azure's data and the cat girl's reluctance to accept Glynda's offer. Suddenly, their scrolls find signal and dozens of missed calls from Vale ring. They call Sun and Ren, who begin to explain what happened.
Chapter 99- Lumia and Erik wake up underground. Sounds of spawns consuming each other reach them from above, forcing them to move further in, until they find a prison with a familiar face inside it.
Nora and Ren take of Pyrrha Grimm. They manage to bypass it and run away a few seconds before the room transforms into a hungry void that brutally devours the monster before going after them.
Meanwhile, Velvet reaches the cemetery. She finds traces of fight and a bloody trail that leads them through haunted, alienated woods towards a thicket where she comes upon a ritual circle made by Jaune Grimm.
Chapter 100- Lumia's team and Renora reunite and run up and down a series of dungeons trying to escape the hungry void that consumes the entire hospital.
They are saved by Glynda and the SHU who ferociously attack the huge spawn that had recreated the clinic using its own body. After its defeat, Erik sees Velvet's texts and runs to help her before it becomes too late.
The bunny faunus is transferred to an imaginary desert in Vacuo, where she takes on her former teammates. She manages to push through and defeat them, breaking the illusion and returning back to the thicket.
She is then found by Erik, who tries to calm her down as Lumia and Ren discover that Jaune Grimm has escaped via a manhole. Before they try to form a plan, Vale's distress sirens sound the city alarms.
