Chapter 7: Mistralian Coup d'état
(Southern Mistral, 2 miles from Haven Academy)
Reuben, and the remaining Hunters and Huntresses had all been deceived by Lionheart. The council it seems, would not object to them losing their lives. They decided to march on Haven, and overthrow the Council. They were the only armed forces in the area, with Haven Academy´s staff missing or dead.
Reuben: I´ll call Raven, so we can have some reinforcements. There´s no telling how the other Kingdoms will react. You guys will be paid, I promise, and you can do what you want after this.
The Group of skilled warriors are weary from walking back to Haven.
Hunter 4: Damn it, I´d much rather be at home than here…
He continued to walk until he spotted an inn. The Hunters and Huntresses would fight better if they were in top condition. He enters, and one after the other, most of the group enters the inn, taking a detour.
Reuben: Okay team, let´s rest in there.
Reuben activates his scroll, and he checks his messages. He sees one from Raven and reads it.
Raven: The misfit kids are fighting against Tyrian, I guess he doesn´t stay down for long.
Reuben looks at the video, and presses play.
(Oniyuri, Mistral)
Tyrian clashes with Team RNJR, hunting down Ruby. However, he is still feeling the effects of his last battle. Ruby has her Scythe drawn.
Ren: Who are you?
Tyrian: It doesn´t matter to you, who I am.
He looks at Jaune.
Tyrian: Well, you do interest me. But no, I only matter to you.
He points at Ruby, the girl confused.
Ruby: Me?
She tilts her head, wondering what this crazy guy wanted her for. Tyrian lets out a cackle, before a piercing pain in his midsection cuts him off.
Tyrian: Damn, Superman, got me good. Hahahaha! You haven´t a clue, do you? Oh, how exciting this must be?!
Jaune: Superman?
Jaune had never heard of a Hunstman by that name before.
Tyrian: Big guy, wears blue, has brown hair and eyes, really strong? Ringing any bells?
When none from the Team could figure out who he was talking about, Tyrian gets agitated.
Tyrian: Fine! I never expected you cretin to know of him anyways.
He continues to laugh maniacally.
Ruby: What do you want?
He pretends to be shocked.
Tyrian: The little Rose has thorns! Why I´m here to whisk you away with me.
Nora steps in front of Ruby, her hammer at the ready.
Nora: What if she doesn´t want to go with you.
Tyrian gets serious, his body almost seeming normal.
Tyrian: I´ll just take her!
Jaune steps up next, in front of Nora.
Jaune: We´re not going to let you do that.
Tyrian sucks air into his mouth, closing his eyes.
Good.
He rushes behind Jaune to strike him. But his ribs begin to ache, slowing him by a second. Jaune detects him, and bashes him in the head with his shield. Tyrian is sent flying into the ground, but he leaps upwards and continues to fight. He kicks Jaune, launching off his sheild, he runs towards Nora, while Ruby fires electric dust. The dust scars the side of his face, but, ultimately ends up hitting Nora, who bounces back fro the recoil.
Nora: Ahh!
Nora hits the ground, Tyrian seethes from the wound on his face. He then laughs hysterically once he sees Nora writing in pain.
Tyrian: Well, if that isn´t Ironic.
Nora stands back up, charged up with the Electric Dust. The team adjust their battle stance as Nora rushes at Tyrian. With no time to dodge, he is hit with the full force of her hammer. His tail too weak to block the strike from his earlier fight.
BOOM!
Tyrian: Surprise!
With his head charred, he still manages to stand up, and kick Nora a few times, sending her to the ground. Tyrain manages to backflip all the way to the roof of a building before revealing his damaged tail. Though, those on the ground couldn´t tell.
Ren: A Faunus!
Ruby: What do you want? The White fang? Roman Torchwick?
Tyrian: All toy soldiers. I serve, the one true goddess.
Ruby: Cinder…
Tyrian: Only in her wildest dreams!
He bolts down onto the ground, his damaged weapons deployed.
Tyrian: Cinder would never beat the Superman in a fight. He´d finish her off in an instant, only our goddess could truly bring him to his knees.
He then starts to get serious, lunging after Ruby, before punching her in the head. He then kicks Ruby in the gut with the full force of his feet, disabling her aura. He goes for a killing blow, before his strike is blocked by the Sword of…Qrow Branwen!
Qrow: Hey kiddo.
Qrow looks down at Ruby.
(Haven Academy Interior)
The Hunters and Huntresses brought by Reuben have finally arrived. They rush through the halls, meeting no resistance. They then come to the end of the hallway, Leo Lionheart´s office. Reuben closes his eyes, Raven and her tribe are 30 minutes out, ready to lay siege to Haven if need be.
Crunch!
Reuben brutally kicks down the door to the Headmaster´s office. The rest of the Huntsmen and Huntresses pour in. A shocked Leo Lionheart is colluding with Arthur Watts.
Watts: Reuben Clark…we meet at last.
Watts stands up from his chair, studying the person he had heard rumors of all his career in Atlas. The man General Ironwood most fears.
Reuben: Who are you?
Watts pays no attention to the Hunters and Huntresses with their weapons drawn on Leo.
Watts: Doctor Arthur Watts, famous Atlas scientist.
Reuben shakes his hand, unaware of his connection to Salem.
Reuben: How do you know me?
Watts pulls up his scroll, analyzing some data.
Watts: You were one of the strongest fighters in Solitas. But, then, you left.
Watts pulls up footage of Reuben´s Battle against Winter. He has no clue about the battle, and deal with Raven.
Watts: Defeating Schnee, and all the Tin man´s toy soldiers.
Watts plays the footage of Reuben battling each one of the Ace-Ops, him winning every time.
Reuben: I left. General Ironwood wanted a different world than I want. He wants to rule with his military, and I want to live in peace.
Watts stops playing the footage, and puts away his scroll.
Watts: I see, I shall leave this place, if you allow me. We will meet again, Reuben.
Watts picks up his briefcase, and leaves, exiting down the hallway and into a stairwell. The focus then shifts back to Leo.
Leo: Mr. Reuben.. If I had known you were coming I´d…
Reuben glares at the man, who cowers in fear.
Reuben: You deceived me, all of us!
Leo can´t muster up a response. Raven, then enters the room, she grabs Leo by the neck.
Raven: I´ve waited for this, for a while, old man!
Raven´s eyes glow with the power of the Spring Maiden. She raises her fist, and fills it with energy. Her fist glows with energy as she blasts Leo full force.
Leo: Ahhhhh!
Leo´s head is instantly vaporized, smoke billowing from his neck.
Reuben: RAVEN, that was too far! You didn´t even give him a chance to explain himself!
Raven looks at Reuben, before tossing the dead body of Leo aside.
Raven: What?! I eliminated a threat!
Reuben looks back at his band of Huntsmen and Huntresses.
Reuben: Well, that settles it. I hereby Declare that I, Reuben Clark, am Interim Headmaster of Haven Academy.
The crowd cheers before Reuben walks over to the safe. He opens it, and compensates all who have stayed with him. He gives a portion to Raven, for her to distribute to her Tribe.
Raven: I´d say, for 8 million Lien, this was worth it.
Reuben: He must have had the entire operating budget for the academy in that vault.
The crowd of Huntsmen and Huntresses soon disperse. Reuben told them once the job was over, they could do what they wanted. Some had ventured into the town, while others opted to stay in the dorms.
Raven: How about, we celebrate this victory.
Reuben smiles, brushing off his dissatisfaction from earlier.
Reuben: In my new quarters?
Raven: Precisely.
The two of them walk down the hallway, side by side. Officially a couple.
