A/N: Hi guys! First of all, apologies for taking A WHOLE MONTH to get this chapter out. If you didn't see my update chapter, I basically said that despite school coming to a close, I had lots of work to do on choosing a college and AP tests. Now that the college stuff is out of the way, all I have left is my AP test this week. After that I'm free and I will be cranking out chapters (hopefully). Anyways, enjoy the Kataang date! I loved writing this :).

The night had finally arrived. Aang and Katara were both ecstatic about their date. Aang offered to pick her up, but Katara had a surprise in mind, so she said she'd drive herself.

As they arrived at the Little Otter-Penguin, Aang and Katara greeted each other with a hug. They sighed in contentment, always enjoying their embraces.

As they sat down, Aang decided to kick off the night with a question he's been wondering since he had arrived in New Caldera. "So, how is it, anyway, that the team came to be?" he asked her.

Katara looked at him, confused. "What?"

Aang chuckled. "The team."

Katara finally caught on to what he was trying to say. "Oh. No, they don't call themselves a team."

"What do they call themselves then?" Aang asked curiously.

"They call themselves a gang. Not like Hahn's gang, but a family type of gang," she replied.

Aang chuckled. "All right, then. How did the gang come to be?"

"Well, that's a whole lot of history," she said with a shy smile.

Aang smiled back, eager to hear whatever she would tell. "I've got time."

She chuckled in response as she sat up in her seat and began. "Okay. Jet grew up with my brother. Actually, he didn't ever really grow up, as you can tell, but they were friends as kids. As for Suki, she just lived down the street. Always into cars, though. Ever since she was, like, ten years old, so, naturally, Sokka always had her attention. Once she turned 16, however-"

Aang cut in, knowing where it was going. "-she had Sokka's attention," he chuckled out.

They both laughed for a minute, imagining Sokka being lovestruck. "Yeah. It's funny how that works, isn't it?" Katara said.

"Yeah, extremely funny," Aang said with a smile. "So, how do Toph and Zuko fit into the mix?"

"Well, Toph and Zuko just sort of showed up one night and never left. It's just the way my brother is, you know—Sokka's like, like gravity. Everything just gets pulled to him. Even you," she said with a smile.

Aang chuckled. "Nah."

Katara became confused. Why the sudden denial? But Aang was ready to sweep her off her feet.

He smirked as he broke the silence, looking directly into her beautiful blue eyes. "No. The only thing that pulled me in was you. Your brother is just a bonus," he said smoothly. He meant it, but in all honesty, Sokka wasn't just a bonus; he was a lifelong friend. But he hoped it would make Katara happy and would soon find it worked wonders.

Katara's mouth became dry as she blushed profusely. Bingo, Aang thought with a smile. He was happy he had this effect on her. Seeing her happy made him feel like he was on top of the world.

"That's good," she started, smiling from ear to ear. " It's nice to come first every once in a while."

Time had flown by, and they hadn't even ordered any food yet. They could've spent all night talking but were cut short by Katara's stomach rumbling. She blushed with embarrassment, but Aang assured her it was okay; he was just as hungry as her. Aang pondered over the menu, unsure of what to get. He knew Water Tribe food consisted of mostly meat, which was a little upsetting to him as a vegetarian, but he knew Katara loved this place, so he would make do with whatever he could find. Luckily for him, they had steamed veggies with a side of rice. It wasn't Aang's favorite meal, but he was thankful that the menu had something that he could eat. Katara, however, knew exactly what she wanted. She didn't even have to look at the menu. Stewed Sea Prunes was her favorite meal, and nothing came close to them. The sea prunes here were to die for, but her Gran Gran's homemade sea prunes would always hold a special place in her heart.

After another 20 minutes of conversing while waiting for their food, it finally came.

Katara dug in immediately, a smile from ear to ear. "Spirits! These are so good! Would you like to try some, Aang?" she asked. Aang saw no harm in trying, as long as it wasn't meat. He grabbed the spoon from Katara and put the sea prune in his mouth. The texture was off-putting to start, but when he bit down on it, the flavor exploded in his mouth, and not a good flavor at all. It took all his strength not to spit it out, hoping that he could play it off well and move on. But of course, she asked what he had hoped she wouldn't. "So how is it? Isn't it great!" she explained with a smile. Aang struggled to swallow but got it down and responded, "it's good."

It wasn't hard for Katara to see through his facade. "Aang, if you don't like it, I'm not going to be mad. You can tell me the truth," she giggled.

Aang breathed a sigh of relief. So glad she was so understanding because the truth was he HATED them. "Yeah, sorry. I don't think I see a future with sea prunes," he said shyly, rubbing the back of his neck.

Katara loved when he did that. She found it so adorable. "It's okay, silly. At least you can say you tried them."

Aang smiled at her. He picked up his food and smiled at the incredible taste, the opposite of the sea prunes he tried.

After they finished their food, Aang asked for the check. Katara offered to split the bill, but Aang insisted that he pay. As they walked out, Katara told him she had a surprise that she was eager to show him.

"Let's go to my car and go for a drive. We'll come back for your car after," Katara said. Aang never thought Katara was much of a car person, not nearly as much as Sokka and everyone else. But he was proven wrong on the spot.

As they got to her car, he stopped and took a minute to admire the beautiful piece of work in front of him. A Mark 4 Toyota Supra. An aqua blue wrap with shiny polished chrome rims. Supras were hard to come by nowadays, not to mention how hard it was to find one unmodified.

Aang was left speechless but finally found his footing. "Katara, this car is gorgeous! Well, not as gorgeous as you, of course, but wow! How did you get your hands on this?" he said with awe, jumping up and down like a kid getting a present. He immediately blushed and rubbed the back of his next after he realized what he had said.

Katara looked away and blushed at his compliment. Spirits! I blush at everything he says. He's just so sweet!

"Well, it was Sokka who helped me get it. He got a good deal on it and surprised me with it one day. It was always my dream car, so when he brought me to the garage and revealed it to me, I almost fainted. After that, I spent all my time and effort modifying it until it was perfect. I'd say it came out pretty well," she explained. She took a minute to admire her masterpiece alongside Aang.

After sitting there staring absently at Katara's car, they got in her car and pulled out of the parking lot. Aang was about to ask what she had planned but saw an open road with no stop signs or stoplights. He looked up at Katara to see she had a smirk on her face. Oh boy, I'm in for a fun time, he thought with a smirk.

"You ready, big boy?" she said with a wink. Aang nodded excitedly like a little kid. Without a second thought, Katara put the pedal to the floor, and they shot off like a rocket. Aang was thrown back in his seat and felt like he was on a roller coaster. After a little while, they slowed down before shooting off again. This time Aang was able to move his head to look at Katara while she drove. Her footing seemed flawless, and her shifts were perfect. She just can't get any more perfect, can she? He thought as he stared hopelessly at her.

Katara kept her eyes on the road but often took quick glances at Aang and saw that he couldn't take his eyes off her. Usually, she would see this as creepy if this was any other guy, but Aang wasn't any other guy. So instead, she blushed, loving the way he constantly praised her.

Aang had assumed that she would take him back to his car back at the restaurant, but when he saw them pulling into the driveway of Sokka and Katara's, he was curious about what she had in mind.

"I thought you were dropping me off back at the restaurant?" Aang questioned, clearly not picking up Katara's intentions.

Katara giggled at his naiveness. "Well, I thought maybe we could hang out for a little longer, maybe watch a movie and see where the night takes us. If that's okay with you."

Aang, finally picking up what she was talking about, smiled as his eyes widened. "Yes...yes, that sounds perfect," he said happily.

"Great!" Katara said with a smile. They got out of the car, and Katara grabbed Aang's hand and led him into the house, not before Sokka noticed.

"Where do you two think you're going?" he said with a raised eyebrow.

Katara just chuckled and walked up the stairs with Aang. "Nothing that you can stop, so don't even try it."

Aang just shrugged at Sokka with a smile from ear to ear. He looked back up at Katara and let out a happy sigh.

They got to Katara's room and walked in. Aang closed the door and saw Katara already on the bed waiting for him. He walked over and laid down next to her as she cuddled up next to him and put on a movie. Both of them had never been happier than they were at that moment. Is this what love feels like? If it is, I never want to feel anything else for the rest of my life, he thought.

Aang was woken up in the middle of the night by his phone ringing. He looked over to Katara, hoping she was still sleeping. He smiled at the sight of her. She was so cute when she was asleep, and it made his heart flutter.

He sat up on the side of the bed and answered the phone. "The hijackers have hit again. The boss decided that we're going to move on Hahn Eyak and his guys at 17:00, unless you say otherwise. If you agree, just say yes."

"Yeah."

Much to Aang's disappointment in himself, Katara got up. "Who is that?"

Aang smiled at her. "Oh, it's just a wrong number," he said.

They stared at each other for at least a minute smiling before Aang leaned in for a kiss. Katara accepted gracefully, and they laid down in each other's arms as they drifted back to sleep.

The next day was here, and that meant Aang, along with the other strike teams, would go to various locations and shut down Hahn's operations. He met up with Sarge and a bunch of other officers on top of a parking garage.

Throughout the afternoon, multiple strike teams raided many of Hahn's garages and strongholds. One squad went to the restaurant owned by Hahn's family. The group rushed in with shotguns and began arresting anyone associated with Hahn's gang. One of the associates was Hasook, Hahn's cousin. Hasook saw the cops break into the restaurant and tried to flee but was stopped after another group of officers cornered him at the back of the restaurant. While that was going on, Aang and the lead squad infiltrated Hahn's house. Hahn was having dinner with his family at the time of the bust and never saw it coming. Aang did his best to do whatever he could to help, all while staying out of Hahn's line of sight. Aang could not let Hahn see that Aang true identity is an undercover cop. Officers apprehended Hahn and dragged him out of the house, but not before his father walked up to him and slapped him hard across the face in disappointment.

Aang went back to HQ with Sarge to meet with the Boss, who said he had disappointing news and was not happy.

When they arrived, the Boss was on the phone. They couldn't tell who he was talking to, but by his tone, it was clearly someone above him. "Yes, sir. Yeah, I know, but-Yeah. Yes, sir. Yeah. I got it."

The Boss put the phone down and let out a long and frustrated sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. "The DVD players were purchased legally. All we've got are a couple of low-rent weapons charges and some outstanding speeding tickets."

Aang could not believe what he was hearing. "So, they're out?"

"Yep. His father bailed them out," he grunted. "Is this the kind of intelligence I can expect from you, Jiang?

First, Hahn got released from jail, and now the boss was blaming him? Aang couldn't even call himself furious; he was way past that. "You're gonna put this on me?" he snarled.

"I can put it on whoever I want to. Perks of the job," he said in a matter-of-factly tone.

Aang tried to plead his case but couldn't finish his sentence before the Boss cut him off. "No, you can't put this on me-"

"No, wait a minute. Let me tell you. I don't care if you have to aim at someone and blow your cover to smithereens. You've got 36 hours to crack this bastard, or you might want to think about another career," the Boss spat as he walked out of the room.

Aang immediately got up and stormed out of the house and went to sit on the edge of the pool. Sarge followed suit and went after him.

"It's Aluutiq, Aang. It always has been Aluutiq. Eyak and Rulan are just...fumes, decoys to steer you off the right path. I know you've been lying to me. My question is this: Have you been lying to yourself because you can't see past Katara?" Sarge said to Aang.

Aang wasn't sure what to do. "He won't go back to prison, Sarge."

Sarge only could shrug his shoulders. "Well, that's a choice he's going to have to make. There's all kinds of family, Aang. And that's a choice you're going to have to make."

Without another word, Sarge left, leaving Aang to ponder what he would do moving forward.

The R34 GTR was complete, and it looked fantastic. It was painted a vibrant white pearl that caught every ray of sunlight that hit it. Aang believed that it would look best with white wheels to match the white paint, but everyone was skeptical of white on white. He insisted it would look good, so they went ahead and put them on to see how it looked, and much to Aang's happiness, it seemed that everyone else had changed their minds, as they all walked around the car, quietly observing how good the white wheels went with the white car.

"I don't wanna say I told you guys so….but I told you so," Aang said with a smirk.

Sokka groaned in defeat. "Fine! We get it. It looks pretty damn good."

Toph smiled widely, so happy this car was finally done. "I'm so glad this is complete. It looks amazing! You better let me drive this."

Sokka chuckled. "We'll see about that, Toph. For now, though, it's time to take this baby for a whirl. Aang, hop in, let's go."

Aang got in the driver's seat, and Sokka got in the passenger's seat.

"Have you driven a right-hand drive car before?" Sokka asked Aang, noticing he was a little shaky.

"Uh, no, I haven't. I thought it would be easy, but sitting in the car now, it feels so weird," Aang said.

Sokka chuckled. "Yeah, it takes some getting used to, but you're an excellent driver. I have no doubt you'll pick it up."

Aang smiled at his compliment. He put the car into gear and drove off. Sokka knew a fun path they could take the car out to stretch its legs and get some food to eat at the end.

They drove down the coastline for a bit; it was a beautiful day out. Both Aang and Sokka had sunglasses on, with the sunroof open and the windows down. Aang was getting the hang of driving on the other side, too, and it showed. Nothing was going to ruin this moment.

They got to a stoplight and saw an older man, probably in his forties, driving an older Ferrari with a younger woman in the passenger seat. Aang decided to taunt the guy, being the prankster that he is. "What's the retail on one of those?" he asked.

The man put his car into neutral and started to rev his engine. "More than you can afford, pal, this is a Ferrari."

Aang was taken aback by the man's arrogance, he was only taunting him in a fun way, but now he would not play nice.

"No shit, Sherlock. I can see the badge. I have eyes, you know," he said with a laugh. The man narrowed his eyebrows, clearly not liking that he was being talked down to, especially in front of the woman.

Sokka looked over to Aang with a smirk. "Smoke this asshole, would ya?" he asked him.

Aang smirked back. "With pleasure."

The stoplight turned green, and the cars were off to the races.

About ten minutes later, Aang and Sokka arrived at the restaurant. The hostess sat them down at a table with a great view of the ocean. They ordered some fried pickles since they were only getting a snack.

"That was some spectacular driving, Aang, I will admit, but try to stay on the right side of the road. I felt like I was going to die," Sokka said while stuffing his mouth with the fried pickle chips.

"The guy in front of me was going too slow. I needed to do something," Aang said, grabbing some pickles to eat.

Both of them laughed for a bit until it died down and awkwardness set in a bit. Aang looked conflicted and upset. Sokka didn't know what was up with him, but he decided to ask.

"What's wrong, Aang?" Sokka asked.

Aang tried to put it off. "Nothing, man, I'm fine."

"Come on. Obviously, something's off."

"Look, I have my good days and bad days just like anybody else," Aang said, raising his voice slightly.

"Aang quit losing your cool, or else I'm gonna make you pay for the pickles," Sokka said with a chuckle. Aang, however, wasn't laughing along with him.

"What? You think I can't pay for my own pickles?" Aang said, getting even more frustrated.

"What? No. It's cool, man. I'll pay."

"No, that's one thing about me that you don't understand. I don't take handouts. I earn my way, every step," Aang said, taking a few more pickles. He took time to chew and swallow before speaking again. "I just need something extra on the side, like you."

Sokka looked at him, baffled. "What do you mean, like me? What's that supposed to mean?" he said with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm not stupid, all right? I know that there's no way you paid for all that shit you got under the hood-" Aang said. Sokka put his hands up, signaling Aang to lower his voice. "There's no way you paid for what's under the hood of those cars by doing tune-ups and selling groceries. Whatever it is you're in on, I want in on it, too," he finished.

Sokka didn't say anything. He wasn't sure if Aang was serious or not. He and Aang just stared at each other for a minute. Finally, he went to his shirt pocket, took out a slip of paper, and slid it across the table to Aang.

"Well, what is this?" Aang asked.

"Read it," Sokka replied, looking around to make sure no one was eavesdropping in their conversation.

Aang looked puzzled at the piece of paper. Sokka decided to help him out and tell him what he was looking at. "It's directions...to Race Wars. We'll see how you do; then we'll talk," Sokka said.

They both got up from their seats and walked back to the car. The ride back was peaceful, not much talking—just two guys enjoying a beautiful sunset with the wind in their hair.

When they got back to the house, they walked in and went their separate ways. Aang went upstairs to check on Katara, and Sokka went to sit in the living room to watch TV. Before Aang got up the stairs, Sokka called up to him. "Hey Aang, I'm letting you take the GTR. You better win, alright?"

Aang chuckled. "You got it, Sokka!" he said with a smile.

The weekend came quickly, and so did Race Wars. It was located at an abandoned air force base out in the desert—perfect for drag races.

Aang pulled up to the gated entrance, where a man greeted him. "Welcome to Race Wars, kid."

A/N: Woah! A Double author's note? Crazy right? Anyways, it's hard to tell if the fic is coming to a close because there is other stuff I want to add that isn't from the movie so we'll see how it goes. Did you guys like the date? Lastly, I recently came up with an idea for a new fic and so far the discord has given positive reviews to the idea so I will get to work on it when I can. Do you guys wanna see a book 2 of this story first or would you rather a new fic first? Let me know what you think. As always review and tell me what you think. Adios! :)
