All Might watched from around the corner as class 1-A cheered in regards to the start of the new school year. The smiles he saw on their faces warmed his heart and the one he saw his young protegee made his own grow even larger. The pro-hero keeps himself as hidden as possible, granted how difficult that is for him. Not only does his bulky-muscular form prevent him from not being noticed, but he also sports a large, yellow suit to wear for the day's classes.

You've come so far, young Midoriya, he thought to himself as the class began to disperse. With a large grin on his face, he watched as Aizawa gave the injured student a small slip of paper before walking away. As he walked closer, the number one Hero spent a few more moments proudly watching as young Midoriya received compliments and congratulations.

"Aizawa," All Might greeted as the Pro-Hero turned around the corner he was hiding behind. "Why did you lie to them?"

The silent teacher turns to the blonde and nods in salutations. "Too much time on your hands? Or are you here for a reason?"

"I am here-" he pauses to chuckle at his unintentional joke "-because last year you expelled an entire class worth of students. And yet here you are, claiming your threat to be a 'rational expulsion'? April Fools was last week! You cut those who you believe to be without potential without any hesitation."

All Might brought his hand up, pointing a finger at the scraggly man, "you felt it as well. The potential of that kid."

"As well?" Aizawa turns to All Might with a soft grin. "You seem to be supporting him quite a bit. Is that really how an unbiased teacher should be acting?" The Hero flinches as Aizawa continues to walk away. "His potential wasn't zero. That's it. I'll cut those without any potential. There's nothing crueler than letting someone chase an impossible dream."

"And what of Miss Venture?"

Aizawa stops in his tracks, almost as if he hit a brick wall.

"What about her?" He asks.

All Might strokes his chin in a jokingly manner. "It would seem your bias is intervening with your views as well. Had any other student done what she did to that other boy, you'd have them re-turfing the fields."

"I wouldn't-"

"You have."

"... That means nothing. I only wished to show some compassion to her. She's had a difficult few days."

If not a full life, All Might thinks. His pause gives Aizawa enough time for him to leave. But you do care. You are being kind in your own unique way.

"It's a shame we do not get along," he mumbles.

Aizawa wasn't kidding when he said this school would be providing a lot of freedom to both the teachers and students. After their professor left, class 1-A headed back to the locker room where they all changed back into their school uniforms.

This corset is too tight, Vin grumbled as she buttoned her blouse. Not even a streetwhore would wear something like this.

"Do you think they'll let me shorten my skirt?" Mina asked, zipping it from the side and twirling. "I mean, nobody's going to even be looking at my legs with this!"

"I doubt it," Hagakure answers with a giggle.

Mina scoffs comically. "Like you even need permission. You're going to be showing your entire body, right?"

"... True."

Laughing, Mina sliders her blazer over her shoulders. "It could be worse."

"How could it be worse?"

The pink-skinned girl leans over to Hagakure and loudly whispers, "you could be like Momo and actually be seen nude!"

Instantly, Momo turns around with a blush on her cheeks. "It's not like I'm going to use it outside of Hero-work, anyway."

"Really?" Jiro asks. "With a Quirk like yours, I'm surprised you don't use that daily."

"I'm not allowed to directly affect the economy. Most of my creations are destroyed afterward so that I'm not charged with anything," Momo answers.

"It's still an awesome Quirk!" Mina cuts in, earning another blush from the girl.

"Thanks."

"What about you?" Tsuyu asks.

It takes a moment for Vin to realize she was talking to her. The Mistborn looks down at the frog-girl then at the others in the locker room. They all seemed as interested in Vin's impressive 'Quirk'.

Vin frowns. "What about me?"

"Your Quirk. It's impressive. But could you explain it a bit more, ribbit?"

Nodding, Momo adds, "I am also a bit confused by your Quirk. You displayed multiple abilities. Flight, strength, speed… It's almost too much."

"She can also see me," Hagakure adds. "During the preliminary exam, she was actually able to see me."

"What exactly is Allomancy, ribbit?"

Vin looks around at each member of the room, turning to look at each new voice directed at her. "I-" she stutters, "I'm just… using my Quirk." Damnation, I left my vials with my clothes. Vin casts a brief glance to her locker, calculating the time it would take to grab a vial and swallow the metals inside.

Before she could answer, Urakara placed a hand on Vin's arm. With a panicked look, Vin, without thinking, snapped it away and glared at the girl.

"Are you okay?" She asked as Vin's breathing sped up. "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to."

"I-" Vin felt a sharp pain in her chest as she tried to respond. Her eyesight seemed to dim and her heartbeat soared. With a groan, she runs towards the door and pushes it open.

A loud bang ensues as it slams against the wall. However, Vin was stopped before she could run any further.

"V-v-vin!" A voice squeaked as she crashed into something. With hazy vision, she looks up into a pair of green eyes before feeling her legs give out.

"Midor… iya?"

The green-haired student didn't know how to react. After getting changed, he had planned on heading to see Recovery Girl (his finger was still throbbing in pain, after all). What he hadn't planned for was to be tackled by a girl then have her collapse in front of him.

"V-v-vin?" He squeaked, holding the girl up. Her closed eyes and limp form falling dangerously low to the ground. Thanks to his training on the beach, she was almost as light as a feather, and just as easy to keep from face planting into the ground. "Are you okay?"

"Oh my gosh," a voice cried out. "What happened?" Midoriya looked up to see the semi-undressed form of Urakara running out of the women's changing room. While she was definitely not 'undressed', her blouse hadn't been fully buttoned and left the briefest of glimpses at her cleavage.

Needless to say, Midoriya had no idea how to react.

"Huh?"

Urakara fell in line next to Midoriya and helped grab Vin's unconscious body. "Is she okay?"

"I- uh, I don't know," he answers. "She just ran out and collapsed. What happened in t-t-there?"

"No idea! One second we were all taking, then she just started panicking and running out."

Midoriya places a hand on her head and gasps. "She's burning up! We need to get her to Recovery Girl, now!" With a heave, he wraps his arms around Vin and lifts her up in a bridal carry. Urakara steps back and keeps herself close as they begin running towards the nurse's station.

"What's going on?" Kirishima asks, poking his head out of the boy's locker room.

Kaminari, whose head is held over Kirishima's, peering over his shoulder, answers. "Dunno. But I think I hate Midoriya right now."

"Recovery Girl!" Midoriya yelled, bashing through the doors.

"Eh?" The aging woman looks up from her desk and watches as a family student dashes inside.

He places Vin on one of the empty cots as she scrambles over.

"Now, what seems to be the problem?"

Urakara leans down next to Vin and strokes some of the hair plastered to her face with sweat away. "She's got a fever, we think. We were getting changed then she just ran off and collapsed."

"Hmmm." Recovery Girl places a hand on Vin's forehead and nods. "I see."

"What is it?" Midoriya asks, shaking slightly. "Is she going to be okay?"

With her cane in hand, the aging woman cobbles over to a set of drawers and pulls out a comically large syringe. Instantly, the two students take a step back.

Urakara's eyes go wide. "Is it really that bad?!"

Instead of responding, the healthcare administrator creeps back over to Vin. She stops next to Vin's head and grips the syringe tightly. Midoriya and Urakara flinch as she does, not looking forward to seeing such a large medical instrument shoved into their classmate's… arm? Chest? Head!?

Pop!

Pop? Urakara pauses at the strange sound and peers over Recovery Girl's shoulder. Instead of an injection, the syringe was actually created to be a joke container. The nurse pours a few pills from the barrel onto the palm of her hand then grabs a small cup of water from the stand next to the bed.

"Drink," she whispers, lifting Vin's head and placing two of the pills against her lips. Subconsciously she swallowed them as Recovery Girl lifted the cup to her lips as well, pouring water down her throat.

Vin sputters and coughs, turning to the corner of the bed and curling up into a ball with a groan.

"There, there," Recovery Girl pats. "All better now." She reaches once again for the stand and pulls out a gun-like object. "Hold still," she orders, holding it up at Vin's forehead. After a few moments, the machine beeps.

"38 degrees Celsius (100.4 F)," she mumbles before heading back to her desk. Another few seconds later and she returns with a damp rag, another glass, and a mask. After placing the rag overtop Vin's head, she places the glass and the mask next to her.

"Now," she comments, turning to Midoriya and Uraraka, "you two should head back to class."

"But, is she okay?" The girl asks.

"Yes. But she has a slight fever. Nothing that can't be fixed with the right remedies."

The two students give a sigh in relief, only for Midoriya to wince in pain as he unclenches his fist. Recovery Girl notices and beckons for him to hold his hand out.

"I-i-i-it's fine," he mumbles, but still does. "I can wait till after you take care of Vin."

However, the pro-Hero takes it anyway and inspects it. "Nonsense. This will be easy enough. But remember, you're going to be tired for a few hours. Don't do anything dangerous until this heals. Or at least until you've had a good night's rest."

With a quick peck of her lips, the purplish-falange instantly renews its color.

"Y-y-yes ma'am."

"As for you," she turns towards Urakara, "how long are you going to keep yourself exposed like that? Hurry up and make yourself decent before you head back to class."

The brunette looks at the woman in confusion before looking down at herself. Her normally pink cheeks turn red. Then her entire face does as well. With a squeal, she runs into a corner and covers herself, butting her blouse all the way.

Midoriya blushes as well, keeping his gaze far away from the girl's chest. "I d-d-didn't see anything."

With a guttural cry of embarrassment, she dashes out the door and back to the 1-A homeroom. Thus leaving Midoriya alone with Recovery Girl and Vin.

Before he could apologize or chase after the girl who treated him with kindness, he stumbled as well.

"Woah," he groaned, his own eyelids drooping. Yawning, he turns towards Recovery Girl. "Will she…?"

"She'll be fine. Now go back to class."

The green-haired boy nods and pushes himself through the doors.

"And stop breaking your body into pieces!" Recovery Girl yelled as the door closed.

Light peered out through a window and splashed a warm glow onto Vin's face. Wincing, she sits up and groans. A towel falls from her head and lands on her lap, causing Vin to jump slightly in panic.

Where-

"About time you woke up."

With a groan, Vin turns to look at the glowering face of Aizawa. The thin man is sitting on a chair next to her bed. His capture tool has disappeared, probably stored away after the exercise, and he holds a small stack of papers in his hand.

"How long?" Vin asks, sitting up and squeezing the bridge of her nose.

"Just a few hours."

Vin pauses and frowns. "What happened?"

"Well," he answers, standing up, "it appears you fell victim to a fever. From what we have heard, you started hyperventilating then collapsed in Izuku Midoriya's arms. He and Ochako Uraraka brought you here."

Midoriya? But I was with…

"Wait… A fever?" Vin asked.

With a smirk, the pro-Hero nods. "Mhmm. It would seem Scadrial doesn't exactly have immunization or vaccines."

"..." Instead of responding, Vin turns up with a confused look. She'd never heard of either of those terms.

Aizawa sighs. "Don't worry. Recovery Girl already took care of that while you were sleeping. Just be sure to tell us next time you feel sick."

But I didn't… "I've been sick before," she comments. "But it's never been like this."

"... I see." He responds with a frown. "We'll check up on that, then." Aizawa places the paper down on the nightstand next to her. "These are your syllabi for the semester. Make sure to review them. Just because you were sick, doesn't mean you are excused from tomorrow's classes."

"Thank you."

Somehow, those two words stop him in his tracks. Just as he was about to reach for the door, the pro-Hero froze. "... Of course." He then grabs the door handle and twists it, causing the door to swing open with a loud bang as six bodies fall to the ground.

Both Aizawa and Vin watch in surprise as her classmates slowly rise with groans.

"Hiya, Vin," Mina chuckles. "Glad to see you're doing better."

With a roll of his eyes, their homeroom teacher glances at his watch and comments, "school grounds close at 4:30. Unless you plan to spend the night in front of the gate, be sure to leave within the next thirty minutes." Then, he steps around them and exits, closing the door behind him.

"Are you okay?" Hagakure asks, quickly running up to Vin. The Mistborn feels something warm press against her forehead for a moment. "It feels like your fever is gone," the invisible teen comments.

It strangely takes less willpower than she thought she would need to keep herself from smacking the girl's hand away. In fact, the warmth of her touch seemed to spread throughout Vin's entire body.

"We're so, so, sorry," Uraraka adds. She also runs up to the bedside. "If we knew you were sick we wouldn't have pushed you so hard to talk about your Quirk."

Momo nods. "Yes, I feel especially guilty. I tried to delve into it without regard to your well-being. My apologies." The girl then bends over her waist and bows, keeping her head down.

"Me too," Tsuyu adds. "Ribbit." Then she bows. One by one, each of the other girls drop their heads and bow sincerely to Vin.

"No… I'm. Stop, please." Vin looks back and forth at her classmates in amazement. Why? Why are they doing this? Why are they apologizing? "Please… Stop bowing."

Momo was raised prim and proper, as her mother put it. And she was always told to make amends should she offend anyone.

So that is what she did. She, along with the rest of the girls of class 1-A, had wanted to wish Vin their condolences for whatever role they played in her collapse. However, when they found the door closed and heard their teacher's voice, they decided to, ahem, listen for when a time to enter would be most acceptable.

That's what she told herself, anyway. She knew they were eavesdropping. But that didn't mean it wasn't any less thrilling than what she'd be doing alone.

After Aizawa left, Momo did her best to apologize. She bowed as deep as she could, just like her mother taught her. But what her mother hadn't readied her for were-

Tears?

Momo looked up as she heard the tiny sound of droplets hit the floor. Vin seemed to be as surprised as the rest of the visitors were when they saw her begin to cry.

"Oh my gosh," Hagakure exclaims before beginning to run around the room. "I'm sorry! We didn't mean to make you cry!" She frantically begins searching through drawers and mumbling about, "tissues."

Luckily, Momo had already memorized the atomic makeup of some Kleenex (especially after her parents forced her into watching some old movies), quickly creates a small package of throwaway tissues and holds them out for Vin to take.

She doesn't. Instead, the girl seems to recoil at her gift.

"What's wrong?" Tsuyu asked, holding her hands in front of her.

Vin looked down at her hands and noticed a slight tremor residing in them. With an almost maniacal giggle, she sighed and fell back onto her bed. "Why? Why did it have to be this?"

"Have to be what?" Mina asked with a frown, her usual peppy attitude halted.

Momo, realizing Vin wasn't going to take the tissues, sets them down next to the bed and sits down on the chair parallel to her. "Please, tell us what's bothering you."

Once again, Vin seems to laugh at the comment. "What's wrong? What's wrong?!" She sits up and takes a shaky breath. "Nothing… I'm just tired… Please, leave me be." With a smile, she faced Momo. "Thank you. But I'm fine. It has been a long day."

"I… see." Jiro comments before grabbing Urakaka's hand and Mina's arm. "Then, we'll leave you be." Slowly, the gaggle of women began to leave.

That smile, Momo thinks as she turns to close the door. Where have I seen it before?

Vin spent the night in the sickbay. It wasn't too different from her regular quarters. The bed she lay in was too comfortable and the sounds echoing around her never seemed to end. What made everything worse were the dreams.

Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Elend's smile. He would offer her his hand, proposing a dance for them to take part in. Then, when she looked back at him, his eyes would be cold. His face pale.

Vin woke up with a startling gasp.

The second dream was similar. But this time, it was the group of girls from earlier. They all held their hands out in support for the young Mistborn, offering handkerchiefs and apologies. But when she blinked… They were gone. The warmth in their eyes vanished. The smiles on their faces warping into soundless screams.

Vin would wake up again and again throughout the night as she saw her classmates in nightmarish forms.

Needless to say, she didn't get much sleep that night. The next morning, as the sun peeked through the windows, Vin was already sitting up on the bed's cushion and gasping.

Why is this happening? She thought. Why is it like this? Why are they like this?

"Like him," she whispered to no one.

After a brief jump into a shower, her second day of class began.

Tada!

A smaller chapter this time, but there wasn't much to really do. I originally wanted this to spread all the way to the beginning of All Might's class but a lot has come up. I'd rather get this out here than set everything back a long while.

Vin getting sick was something I think would happen very quickly after meeting a large group of people. Remember, she is from a different planet with different germs/diseases. And she's had no vaccines. So she'd get sick very easily. But there might also be something else going on ;)

I felt I had some good humorous points this chapter, so I hope I made y'all chuckle a bit.

I am keeping up with both the manga and Season 5 of the anime, both of which are awesome right now.

Can I ask a favor? Since I am one of the few Mistborn FanFic writers still going strong, I'd like to make it a goal for us (this story) to be number one. Currently, we are 7th in favorites and follows. So tell your friends, follow and favorite. Let's be number 1!

Also, and I know I say it every chapter (like twice), please please please comment. It really makes my day reading new comments. Even if you're reading this a week from the post-date, don't be afraid to post what your favorite part was. Not only do your comments bring me energy to continue writing, but they also help fuel my creative imagination for new unique ideas.

I wanted to also ask if anyone would be willing to Beta/proofread this story. I haven't been able to contact Stormgate for a bit and I'd feel a lot better about these stories if I had someone to bounce ideas off of and to make sure everything looks good. They would need to be well-versed in Cosmere/Mistborn lore and MHA. If you are interested, please PM me!

Please, feel free to follow and comment on predictions, thoughts, etc. I am always looking for new ways to improve my craft. Tell your friends!

Also, if you have the money, please think about supporting me.
