Three in one day? Apparently I am on a roll! Either way, this will probably be the last of the day as I've got stuff to be getting on with, but please enjoy!
Awkward. That was the word that Bella would have used to describe the car ride. Just plain old awkward, only, it wasn't.
She didn't know how or why, but her mystery hottie was anything but awkward.
As they drove with the windows down and the radio on, Bella felt completely at ease. She felt as safe in that car as she ever had in Edward's arms.
For about five or more hours, they drove non stop. Then, much to her own dismay, Bella needed to pee. There was, at that point, good news and bad news. The good news was that she got to use a nice, clean bathroom. The bad news was that her driver was booked into a motel for the night and there were no other rooms available.
Maybe this was what Alice had seen?
"Don't worry, I don't bite." The other woman grinned when Bella emerged from the bathroom. "You can have the bed, I'll take the couch."
That part hadn't even crossed Bella's mind yet. "What? No, don't be silly. How much was the room? I'll give you half and take the couch." There was no way she could steal the bed and not even pay a dime.
The woman, however, shook her head. "Don't worry about it, my folks paid. Plus, I can't just let you sleep on the couch."
"Well, I can't take your bed and I sure can't stay for free."
"Bella, I'm serious, it's fine."
"Well, I- it's not." She huffed, making the other woman smirk. How did she tell her that she didn't even know her name? It dawned on her that she'd gotten into the car of someone without even knowing their name. Was that stupid? It wasn't as if she could even use Alice as an excuse really.
"Bella. Take the bed." And with that, she dropped her bags onto the damn couch.
"No." Bella decided to stand her ground, also dropping her bags on the couch.
With a raised brow, the woman stepped closer until Bella could feel her breath. "So we're sharing the couch?" She grumbled, low and weirdly hot. "I hope you don't mind, I sleep naked." She then added with a wink, chuckling at Bella's literally open mouth before turning and heading to the bathroom.
What in the hell had just happened?

By the time night fell, Bella had bought them both a takeout pizza and fries, drinks and ordered a movie for them to watch. It wasn't much, but she actually appreciated being allowed to pay for something. It was more than Edward had ever let her pay for.
Over their pizza, they talked about family. Bella didn't learn her stranger's name, but she did learn that she had two siblings and that her father and step mother were both lawyers. Apparently they met in court and fell for one another. Bella told her all about how she'd gone to live with Charlie, all about Renee and Phil. It was nice to chat to someone who didn't already know all of this stuff.
They chatted for what felt like hours, ignoring the movie until the credits rolled and Bella realised that, on the shared couch, they were much closer than when they had sat down. "So," The other woman swallowed loudly, seemingly aware of their proximity, too. "Any thoughts on that sleeping arrangement?" She asked, letting her eyes linger on Bella's lips as she looked over her and back up to her eyes.
Was she feeling it, too? Wait, was she getting closer?
Bella confirmed that, in fact, there were both leaning in little by little. Holy shit, was this it?
"Um." She chuckled lightly, pleased to see a reciprocated smile appear on the face opposite her. They were both red in the cheeks as they got closer and closer to one another. "We could always share. You know, the bed." Bella suggested, feeling her heart stop as soon as the words left her lips.
The smile opposite her widened just a fraction, but it was enough.
She had to go for it, right? "I'm good with that." The woman replied, coming just a little closer until the tips of their noses made contact.
Bella could feel their breath mingle together as her breath hitched in her throat and her hands awkwardly reached out to grab anything and everything. She ended up with two handfuls of shirt as her eyes fluttered closed and she braced herself. Other than her almost-kiss with Jacob in Charlie's kitchen, Edward was the only person she'd kissed. She sure as hell hadn't ever kissed a woman before.
Then, her world changed forever. Pandora's box opened as their lips touched and she felt pure electricity coursing through her body. Without thinking, she immediately tightened her grip on the handfuls of cloth and pulled their bodies closer. It wasn't until one hand came to cup her cheek so very gently and the other took a firm grip on her waist though that she let out a breathy sigh and melted as the firm, muscular body before her followed her tugs and collided into her small, soft frame.
This was already so much more than she had ever felt when her lips had touched Edward's. The soft but rough hands that held her already offered everything that she had ever wanted from a moment like this.
Slowly but surely, Bella was pushed backward until her back was leaning over the arm of the couch with her legs open, wrapped around the woman who was quite frankly rocking her world with a single kiss.
Oh fuck, wasn't this Becca's girlfriend, though?
Quickly, Bella shoved her away, gasping as her head began to clear. Her eyes were wide as she took in the confused woman before her who had simply rocked back onto her heels. "I can't." Bella uttered, awkwardly standing and scrambling to the bathroom.
What the hell had she just done?
However, she got little peace as the door opened behind her and in came the other woman, confusion engulfing her features. "Are you okay?" She asked, concerned.
Chuckling humourlessly, Bella shook her head. "You have a girlfriend!" She barked, waving a hand at her.
The other woman, to her credit, simply stepped back and looked startled. "Well that's news to me." She replied. "The hell I don't." She then added, seeming somewhat offended.
Bella shook her head. "You do." She insisted. "I saw you together in the coffee house. We sat at the same table!" How the hell could she deny that? Perhaps she hadn't remembered Bella being there.
"What? Bella, I'm not dating anyone. You really think I'd have kissed you if I was in a monogamous relationship?"
Bella shrugged wildly. "I don't know you!" She yelped. "I don't even know your damn name, so I sure as hell don't know what you're like in a relationship." And there it was.
Silence fell over the bathroom as awkwardness enveloped them both. Then, to Bella's surprise, the other woman doubled over, laughing. "You don't know my name?" She cackled, laughing even more when Bella huffed. "Holy shit! Dude, you got in my car with me!"
For some godforsaken reason, Bella couldn't help but smirk through her annoyance. "I-"
"Bella, look. I'm single, okay?" She laughed, standing upright. Then, seemingly amused by her own actions, she reached out and offered a hand. "Hi, my name's River and I swear that I'm very single."
"But what about Becca?" Bella couldn't help but feel unsure.
The woman, River, rose her brows and laughed again. "You think I'm dating Becca?" She asked, biting her lip to keep from giggling as Bella nodded unsurely. "Okay, well she's the sister I was waiting for. My perfectly straight sister who's been dating the same dude since she was fourteen. Did I mention that she's my sister?"
Oh.
"Oh my god." Bella uttered, wide eyed and embarrassed. "I thought that- you sat on her lap."
River shrugged. "She's my sister."
Yup, so that's that! Now just a night of "who sleeps where", a trip to Forks, then a good bit of just about everything. Please please please, as always, leave me a review if you can!
