Luz and King walked through the halls, looking for the creature. Luz held two fingers up, prepared to send Lightning at it. They made it into Eda's room and looked around.
"Okay, I don't see it." Luz said, "Let's spread out and look for something that can help us locate and/or beat it."
They looked around and saw broken glass, claw marks, and-
"King, I found something." Luz said, "Looks like our Snaggleback stepped on a few glass shards."
King looked at what she was talking about and saw blood on the ground.
"Anything I should know about Snaggleback blood? I don't want to find out the hard way if it can do something likeā¦take my Bending away or something."
"I'll go get my demon book!"
King ran out of the room and Luz looked at the small puddle of blood. She saw a small ripple in the blood and thought back to when she watched Jurassic Park. She felt something behind her and immediately away from it. She sent a gust of air at it. She may have been angry at it for... making Eda disappear, but she didn't want to kill something. She managed to get a few feet away and only saw glowing eyes.
"I-I-I'm warning you. I-I-I can control all four elements!"
All of Luz's courage quickly disappeared when the creature growled at her, revealing its massive teeth.
"I... I think I just wet myself."
Luz sprinted passed the creature as it clawed at her, ripping her shoe off in the process. Luz managed to get out and used her Airbending to run incredibly fast. She ran into a room and closed the door behind her.
"O-o-okay, I think I'm... I think I'm safe." She said
Luz started to catch her breath, while thinking about what to do.
"Well, I guess Eda won't be signing those papers anytime soon."
She heard something in the hall, reached a hand out, and pulled King inside.
"Luz! I was so worried, I thought the Snaggleback got you."
"It tried, lost my shoe in the process. Oh, you found it."
Luz took her shoe and was about to put it back on when King saw something stuck on her foot.
"What's this?"
He pulled it off her foot and looked at it.
"I must have stepped on it when I was running away."
King looked at it and read it aloud.
"An elixir a day, keeps the curse at bay."
"Curse?"
King thought about it for a second.
"Wasn't there a broken bottle and glowing potion on the ground?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Luz, I was wrong, that's no Snaggleback, that creature is-"
The door was busted down and Luz finally saw the creatures face.
"Eda!?"
Eda raised her hand and was about to claw Luz and King, when Luz's phone fell and her camera flash went off. Eda was temporarily blinded and Luz looked around. She pulled the water out of the plant vases and froze Eda's feet. When Eda was restrained, Luz and King ran and jumped over a small wall. Eda got her vision back and broke the ice with ease. She started to sniff around and almost discovered them, when Luz used her Earthbending to launch a brick away from them. Eda went after it and Luz and King looked at each other.
"Did you see her eyes? They were like, wahh. What happened to her?"
"If I had to take a guess, she's cursed. At least, that's what I can guess from that tag I found on your foot."
"What do we do?" Luz said, before realizing something, "Let's finish the lesson."
"What?"
"Eda's turned into some kind of demon, we need someone with a lot of knowledge on demons. Who better than the best teacher in the world?"
Luz smiled at him and King grabs a leaf.
"Okay, Let's see. She was bigger, covered in feathers, and had giant black eyes. Demons with black eyes are usually sensitive to light. That's it. Light! Luz, use your human wonder rectangle!"
"I can't, the flash broke when it fell."
"Well, what about your Firebending?"
"King, Eda is acting like a wild animal, I can't risk hurt her or... worse."
Luz realized she still had her bag with her and started to look through it, looking for something to help. She pulled out the book and looked at it.
"Luz, what are you doing with that useless thing?"
"This book isn't useless, it could help us."
She blew the dust off of it and started to read the title.
"Ancient... Magic. This book is about magic!"
Luz started to look through it and saw different symbols on each page.
"This book is pretty damaged, but I can see a few of these symbols."
Luz grabbed King's pen and a leaf. She drew a symbol on the leaf and then accidently tapped it. The leaf collapsed on itself and formed a small ball of light. Luz was amazed at the ball of light.
"It's... beautiful." Luz said, "Oh my, gosh. I just did magic. I just did magic! I told you that book would be useful!"
Eda screeched and they ducked.
"That small all of light isn't going to help us!"
Luz looked at the light and smiled.
"I have an idea."
Luz stood on a ladder, waiting for her moment. She heard running and saw Eda slide on the ice she made. Luz tossed a blanket onto Eda.
"Sorry, Eda, but this is for your own good!"
Luz finished drawing the glyph and slammed her hand against it. Eda was blinded and passed out. When she woke up, she was in her nest, and back to her normal form.
"What the- what happened? Ugh, my mouth tastes like road kill."
Eda threw up and the real Snaggleback was vomited out.
"I'm... just going to lay here for a minute."
She looked at her hand.
"I thought I was out of elixir?"
"You were." King said.
Eda looked at King.
"King? What happ-"
"Shh, look."
Eda looked at where King was pointing. She saw Luz in the corner, with several balls of light flying above her.
"Woah, how is she doing that?"
"She found something in that book that fell on her." King said.
Luz got up and walked over to Eda.
"How're you feeling Eda?"
"Honestly, horrible. I don't understand how I changed back."
"I healed you." Luz said, "It's a sub-bending style for Waterbending. It's not a permanent solution, but it... managed to heal you."
"You okay, Kid?" Eda asked.
"I'm... I'm fine. Healing something like that just took a lot out of me. Adding to that, the adrenaline has run out. I expect an explanation later, but right now... I'm... I'm going to go to sleep."
"Yeah, go rest, you did good Kid." Eda said, "The Avatar and a witch, all in one. Not bad."
