Strategies and Games
After cleaning up and changing your newly ruined jeans, you and Dean sped towards the witch house. He went barreling in before you even had a chance to open the door. Stupid. Walking carefully, Ruby appeared beside you. "Now I remember you." You looked to her, annoyed. "Right, tell you next time." A crash came from the house and the two of you walked in, Ruby taking the lead. "Wait." You cocked your gun, salt rounds your only defense. "Please. I just…came to talk." She had her hands up in surrender. Playing strategies… The demon turned towards her, surprised, "You made it out of the gate. Impressive. It was a bitch of a fight, wasn't it?"
"Doors out of Hell only open for so long."
"What do you want, Ruby?" At least she wasn't using an alias.
"I've been lost without you. Take me back. That's why I led the Winchesters here." She looked to the boys then to you, realizing you still had the ability to move. With a swish of her hand, you were thrown onto the wall next to Sam, weapon knocked out of your hand and air knocked out of your lungs. Jesus they've been through a lot today. Dean looked over to Sam sternly and mouthed a quick 'told you'. You were smarter, knowing Ruby was trying to play the bitch. She wouldn't have tried to get you out of town otherwise.
"They're for you…as a gift."
"Really?"
"Let me serve you again. I've wanted it. I've wanted you for so long." She began to walk towards Tammy, or the demon wearing Tammy, and the moment became intimate. Uncomfortably intimate. Dean raised his brows and you looked away…spotting Elizabeth huddled in the corner.
"You were one of my best." The girls leaned in and right before you thought they'd kiss, Ruby pulled a knife…unsuccessfully.
"But then again, you always were a lying whore." Tammy threw the knife from Ruby's grip as Ruby swept her leg and kneed her to the face. A fistfight broke out and the three of you were helpless to join. Tammy got in a head butt and you flinched, knowing intimately that kind of pain. Then again, they were just demons. After a few good kicks and a knockout, Ruby was on her back. Tammy grabbed a fire poker, bringing your attention back to Elizabeth. She met your gaze, terrified. You nodded, but then motioned to the bowl of clothespins on the table. She got the hint and began to move that direction slowly.
"You're really telling me you threw in your chips with Abbott, Costello, and Third Base here?" Ruby didn't get a chance to answer before being slammed with the poker. She stayed down. "Come on. Get up." Defiantly, Ruby held her ground. "I said get up!" When she again refused to move, Tammy knelt down and grabbed her by the jacket.
"We've been here before, haven't we?" Tammy turned directly to Sam. "She didn't tell you? Pretty mortifying, I guess." She focused on Ruby once more, "She was one of mine. I turned her out a long, long time ago. Ruby here was a witch. Of course, that was when you were human." She dropped Ruby and stood. "Oh, didn't want your friends to know, that all those centuries back, you sold yourself to me? Embarrassing, I guess. But don't worry, Love. No secrets where you're heading, remember?" Tammy began reciting a Latin exorcism, one you weren't familiar with. You looked to Elizabeth again, seeing her eyes closed and mouth moving softly. Tammy began to cough until four bloody pins dropped from her throat. The three of you were instantly released from the distraction. Apparently not quick enough, as the second Tammy realized the culprit, Elizabeth clutched her chest and hit the table, dead. You used the moment to kick the knife to Dean, who was nearest to the action. Without blinking, he thrust it into Tammy's back…several times. The orange light flashed under her skin until it burnt out completely. The room was tense as Dean and Ruby stared at each other. He turned and walked to help Sam up. Ruby looked your way and you nodded, respecting the strategy and nothing more. Dean picked the colt up and helped Sam walk over. Ruby stood, "Go." She wiped blood from her nose, "I'll clean up this mess." The four of you looked at the chaos and corpses that decorated the home. Dean shoved Sam, not waiting to be told twice, "Come on." They met you near the door and stopped to look back. Ruby's eyes went black, a warning, "Go." You turned and the boys followed, the three of you entering the Impala.
Sam hadn't spoken to you since your talk and Dean wasn't in a chatty mood. You figured it was time for an exit. You grabbed your bag and saluted to the boys when Dean stood, "I'll walk you out." You nodded and he met you at the door. You loaded your Jeep and pulled it around. Stopping in front of the older Winchester, he rested his arms on the lowered passenger window. "So I never got to ask, what's your opinion on the whole Ruby thing?" You smirked. This was the first time Dean had actually wanted your input. "I've got my bets placed."
"Meaning?"
"Guess we will find out."
"Spoken in true Y/N fashion. Never let them see your hand right?"
"As long as you can bluff, the hand doesn't really matter."
"Ah, I'll get it out of you one way or another. You drive safe, y'hear? Call us when you get back to Bobby's. And be sure to tell him how I saved everyone."
"Sure thing, short bus." You winked and he grimaced before you both laughed. Driving into the sunrise, you made your way back to Bobby's.
