It was just after sunset, and Sonny LaTierre was ruminating. Marty had been going steady with Wilhelm for a month… he sighed as he headed to the back of Frosty's. Maybe he'd find someone. But for now he… oh no…
His heart stopped. Was that… was that Sandy?! What was she doing back here? He knew she and Danny had just gotten into a bit of an argument and she'd had to cool off but…
She was lying on the ground, barely conscious.
He ran over to her, cradling her in his arms. "Hey…" he said softly, shaking her gently. "Can you hear me?"
She opened her eyes weakly with a soft moan.
Sonny cupped her cheek in his hand gently. He looked at her blouse and gasped. Was that blood?! He took her hand and placed it over her belly, where the blood was. "Keep the pressure on it," he said softly. "You're okay just… just stay with me, sweetheart, okay? Keep breathing… hey!" He shook her again. "Stay awake, come on…"
"Sandy!" Frenchy had just appeared. "What happened?"
"I found her like this," Sonny said. "Call an ambulance."
Frenchy ran inside.
Sandy let out a weak gasp. "Danny…" she whispered.
"I know where he is, it's okay," Sonny whispered.
Sandy moaned weakly. "Don't… don't leave…". She sighed softly.
"Hey…". Sonny shook her gently. "Hey!"
He placed his fingers on her neck and sighed with relief as he felt a thready pulse. Her breathing was shallow.
The ambulance soon showed up.
"Her name's Sandy," said Sonny. "It's… I don't know what happened but I found her like this."
"Sandy?!" Danny ran out just in time to see her being riled into the ambulance. "Oh my God, Sandy!"
"She's okay, just breathe," said Frenchy. "Just breathe, they're gonna fix her."
Marty soon appeared with Wilhelm.
"Wait… Sandy's hurt?!" She cried.
"I… I found her like that. It… she'll be fine but…". He growled. "The Scorpions. It has to be. We gotta find the bastard who did this."
"You're damn right," said Danny firmly. "Hurt my girl? I don't think so!"
"Come on guys," said Kenickie. "Let's get to the hospital. Maybe Sandy's got answers when she wakes up."
