End of the school year
Spending a peaceful summer
with family and
friends
Some of them both.
I don't stay with my parents
or the Ronnigans
not even with Nisha and Jeera.
I live with Kaiden
in a shack
by the sea.
Quiet enough to let myself think.
We visit many people
but that space
just for us
makes the world run smoothly.
Kaiden
never asks
about the apprenticeship.
He just offers hugs
goes for walks
and
listens.
Every morning
he brings a cup of tea
sweet with sugar
and love.
Every night
we talk
watching the waves
until it grows dark.
Then we watch the stars.
Slowly
my heart
is beating again.
Each time the nightmares comes,
he holds me
until they come less
and less.
And it reminds me
why
I keep living.
