It was almost unfair, the advantage Calyrex had, even as Victor climbed back onto Corviknight and raced through the air. As soon as he had read Victor's thoughts, Glastier snapped to attention. Calyrex floated onto the ice horse's back, and summoned the Reins of Unity, a specialized bridle that bonded him to Glastrier. Their considerable powers combined, the pair took off, deftly moving down the icy slopes of the mountain. Glastrier knew the Tundra backwards and forwards. The ice didn't deter a creature practically made of it, and with Calyrex's considerable power supplementing its own, it moved with an incredible speed and purpose.

Corviknight was a fine navigator in his own right. His entire species was renowned for their speed and almost computer-like knowledge of geography. It was the basis for an entire transportation business throughout Galar. But this was Calyrex's domain. He and Glastrier were a duo of legendary Pokemon, in perfect synch and in their element. They seemed to know every rut in the ground, every worn out stone, quick turn, and ledge where the ice was slickest.

The two soared after Calyrex, making it to the bottom of the Snowside Slope minutes before he came racing out.

"Down," came the Pokemon's psychic voice in Victor's head, gentle yet determined. It was as the Champion hoped, he knew precisely where to go. He guided Corviknight lower, trying to fly just a few feet over his head. Dodging the trees was an issue, but he trusted the bird.

"Where do you think it is?" He tried to shout, the wind whipping fast and drowning out his voice. Calyrex glanced up, the giant bulb of a crown on his head shifting violently. The obvious came to Victor. "The Spiritomb, where is it?" He… attempted to think at the psychic creature. There was no better way to describe it, but-

"When it slumbers, it is in the southern point. There is a memorial next to the cliffs for the old farmers of Freezington. It considers it a calming point. It has stirred much in recent years, but this is the first time it has woken in ages. I suspect the increase in visitors to the Tundra has piqued its interest."

This, Victor realized, may have been slightly his fault. He and Peonia had had more than a few conversations about the merits of promoting tourism to the area.

"Slightly, but the increase in activity from the Dynamax Lair seems to get its attention just as much."

That was creepy but, it quickly occurred to Victor, inevitable. Calyrex was a psychic Pokemon fully capable of communicating with people. It was a step up from dominating people's minds to communicate. That was a conversation they had, thankfully, resolved.

There was no method to this search. Marnie didn't want to say it, but she had no idea where to start, and had no idea if there was any particular way to track Allister or whatever took him. There had been no additional messages, and she, her Pokemon, and Peonia were left wandering aimlessly. She had taken their guide to be an outdoorswoman, but she had no good ideas herself. Victor had spoken highly of her but…. Marnie was not a jealous young woman. When Victor trusted someone, he could go on about them. If anything, his extroversion was just a minor annoyance, but she definitely owed that tendency for their relationship.

"Head south?" the guide asked, sounding as confused as at a loss as Marnie.

"You know it better 'an me, yeah?" Marnie replied, a bit snappier than she'd intended. "Where do the creepy psychic ghost voices here usually hang out?"

Peonia didn't speak, but by the look on her face she'd obviously had an epiphany.

"What? Oh, bloody hell, did I just insult you? I wasn't trying-"

"The cemetery!" And Peonia took off running. Marnie raised a brow, then gestured to her Pokemon and took off after her.

They all saw Victor and his Corviknight powering through the air first, and followed. There was a purpose he could move with, something everyone had seen at some time or another. For a young man who loved to wander and explore, when he needed to be someplace, he let little stop him from getting to it. With the search going for hours, the sight of him moving so fast had to mean something. And so Gloria, still search from the air herself, commanded her shiny Corviknight to follow. Bede, his Rapidash already determined to reach the cemetery, was determined to reach it first, while Hop and Zacian bounded along beside them. Elsewhere, Marnie ignored Peonia beside her and ran even faster, watching Victor head in the same direction as them.

Meanwhile, he was still following Calyrex. He knew the spot, but he didn't know how to reach it as quickly as his strange, powerful friend.

And they were the first to reach the cemetery. The mist around it was nothing new. It rolled down the lower parts of the mountain below the frost line this time of day regardless of the circumstances. The sun was starting to set, and the ghost-type Pokemon that frequented the area were growing more active. A pair of Sinisteas zipped away as Victor landed. A nearby Dreepy hid behind a headstone, but kept watching them.

"Allister?!" Victor shouted. Calyrex raised a hand.

He is nearby. He is unharmed. But Spiritomb is here as well.

"Spread My Voice." The voice was louder. It seemed bizarre, still echoing in Victor's head, but it was almost a shout now. There was an urgency to it. And then, an answer.

"I… I can. It's okay."

"Allister!" Victor shouted. "Oy, where are you?"

He is not alone.

"Yeah, I got that, but where is he?" Victor hopped down from Corviknight's back.

"V… Victor? Hi." Allister emerged from the swirling mist. He seemed safe, but his mask remained in place and made it as hard to tell as gauging his condition ever was.

"Allister! Mate, we've been worried sick about you! What happened to you?"

"He… Wanted to meet me," Allister said, calmly sitting cross legged on the ground. "Asked them. Asked them to find me for him. Wants my help."

Spiritomb does not typically ask for help. Who did he send? Calyrex asked. The air swirled.

"Them."

The mist swirled violently, and six Dragapults emerged. Two whirled around Allister, and the other four placed themselves between him and Victor.

"Uh huh," Victor groaned. Corviknight spread its wings and cawed. Victor reached for his belt. Five lights flashed, and the rest of his team- Rillaboom, Zamazenta, Toxtricity, Grapploct, and Centiskorch- appeared. He looked to Calyrex. "Care to join in?"

I consented to you being my "trainer", did I not?

"Just don't tell anyone I used seven," Victor smirked. "They'll say I was cheating. Now, I choose you!"

And with a gesture of his hand, Victor's Pokemon charged forward.
