After Sabre tells marin about krystal, they leave Thorntail hollow, and head back to snowhorn waste. Thanks to tricky distracting the bribeclaw, marin and sabre quietly passed the bribeclaw. Sabre spotted two sharpclaws, and defeated both of them. Then they heard someone calling for help. Turns out the source of the voice came from the snowhorn, who's apparently stuck in an ice. His trumpet is the only one stooding up, and the only way to talk.
"They sent you to rescue me?" "...Hmmpphh." "The sharpclaws haven't fed me in days so I'm feeling a bit weak." "If you bring me 12 frost weeds I'll be able to get myself out." "Hurry boy, I'm starving in here!" Snowhorn said. Marin looked around and saw something in the tree, she assumed to be the ones the snowhorn needed. "Hey sabre, is that the one over there?" Marin pointed towards the snowy tree. "Yes it is, I'll get some." Sabre went to fetch some frost weeds, he swung his sword on a tree, and some came down. Sabre tried to grab one, but it was rolling away from them. He tried to get another, and it's also rolling away. Marin sat and watched and wondered if he needed some help. He got one rolling down to the snowhorn, and the snowhorn ate one from his trumpet. He needs 11 left, and catching some is a bit difficult for sabre.
"Do you need some help out there?" Marin asked. "No, I got it." "I'm just about to get it." Sabre tries to get it, but it rolls away. "Are you sure about that?" Tricky said. "I am, now just wait." "I'm about to get one." Sabre got one rolling towards the snowhorn, and he ate it. "See, not a problem." Sabre said. "Sure, but there's one flaw." Tricky said. "What?" Sabre said. "You took too long to catch another." Marin laughed at tricky's sarcasm. "All right great prince have your fun." "I'm going to get the third one." Sabre said. So they sat and watched sabre one by one get some, but after getting the 6th one. He decided that it's gonna really take a long time. "Um, a little help?" Sabre said. "What's the magic word?" Marin said. Sabre gave a brief sigh. "Please?" Sabre said. "Ok, come on tricky." "Let's catch some." Marin said. "Yeah." Tricky said. Marin and tricky went to go help out sabre catch some ice weeds. After a long time of marin, tricky and sabre catching some to help the snowhorn. Sabre got the last one, and snowhorn ate the 12th one. Snowhorn feels all the strength returning.
"Look out boy!" The snowhorn broke through the ice, and emerged. "Hey, it's the young prince." The snowhorn bowed to the prince, and noticed sabre and marin. "And who are they with you?"
"This is my friend sabre, and marin." "My mother sent us to find you." Tricky tells him.
"Your mother sent you, did she lad." The snowhorn said. "She said you'd know something about a spellstone?" Sabre said. "A spellstone!" "HMmmmmm." "My name is Garunde te." "I am a spell stone guardian." "Many moons in our past." "The great kameria dragon formed a group of dinosaurs known as the spellstone guardians." "Four dinosaurs from different tribes, were each given a spellstone."Each guardian was to keep this knowledge secret." "And pass down this duty, through following generations." "General scales learnt that i was a guardian, and gave me a choice." "Either reveal where I had hidden the spellstone or, my whole tribe would be destroyed." "I had no choice!" "The safety of the many must come before the few." "It is my duty." "But my daughter did not think this way." "My daughter told scales that she knew where to find the spellstone." "Scales kept his word and did not destroy the tribe, he enslaved them instead." "My daughter has dishonored me." Marin listened, and didn't know what word to say. But she decided to keep her own word.
"What can we do?" Sabre asked. "It is up to you to find the spellstone before general scales." "I will open the mine." The snowhorn opened access to the mines for them. Sabre, marin and tricky was about to go to the bridge, then the snowhorn said something. "Remember, you must return the spellstone to me, so that I may activate it for you." "And marin, beware of general scales." Marin nodded in response. The three jumped over the bridge, and entered the mines. Inside the mines is nothing but rocks, and rubble. But also has lava down there with fireballs flying across the passage. "Let's approach carefully, and not burn ourselves." Sabre warned them. "Thanks for the warning." Marin said. They each walked carefully while avoiding the fireball flying across them. They jumped the little gap, and crossed the little bridge. Marin suddenly fell back after the ground suddenly broke, and the fireball flew up, and fallen down to the lava. "Hey, you ok?" Sabre helped marin up. "Yeah, that was unexpected." Marin said, surprised. "Then we better watch our step." Tricky said. They jumped from the gap, and entered in the snowy area. Marin sees another snowhorn, she went to see if the snowhorn is alright.
"Hey, are you ok?" Marin asked the snowhorn. "Yes, but can you help me get free?" The female snowhorn said. Marin sees a keyhole, which means it's locked. "Do you know where we can find the key?" "Yes, it's at the cave next to me." "But the sharpclaw is guarding it." She said. "I'll get it, come on tricky." Sabre said. The both went down to the cave, and found a bribeclaw. Tricky distracted the bribeclaw, and sabre opened the crate with his sword. Sabre picked up the key, and headed back out of the cave. "We got it." Tricky said. "Here marin, free the snowhorn." Sabre said. "Not a problem." Marin used the key, and unlocked it. Marin pushed the shackle from her leg, sabre lent a hand to help marin. "I cannot thank you enough for releasing me." "Take this as a reward." "I found it whilst working yesterday." "It looked important so i hid it from the sharpclaws." the female snowhorn handed the gear to marin. "Thanks this may come in handy." Sabre said. "If you're heading for the mine then please lookout for the guardian's daughter." "Her bravery alone saved us from certain death at the hands of general scales." Sabre nodded in response. And they moved on to continue. They came across a bridge, but it's out. Sabre spotted something down there, and it's missing a gear in order to operate the bridge.
"Marin, it's missing a gear." Sabre said. "I'll put it in." Marin said. Marin went down from a ledge carefully, and a sudden blast shot past in front of her. "Marin be careful, these peepers are real bullies." "Watch out for these guys if you see their glowing green eyes." Marin nodded at tricky's warning about those guys hidden in a snowy rock wall. Marin jumped one platform, and the next. Then she placed the gear to where all the gears are. She goes to the lever, and pulls. The gears all together begin to move. The bridge is operated, and they can cross now. "That should do it." Marin said. Marin jumped back top the platform. She sees a hole, where she knows she almost got hurt. She jumped one platform and rolled to avoid another shooting at her again. Thankfully it missed her. She climbed fast, and almost got hurt again by another blast. She made it back up. "In your face scary eyes!" The response was met with a blast going past marin. "Ok, let's go now." Marin went ahead to the bridge. Sabre and tricky looked at each other, and sabre just shrugged not knowing what to say other than just moving on. So they catch up with marin who was waiting, and proceed. Then they run into a snaplak that emerged.
"Look out!" Tricky tackled it. Sabre hit it with the sword, enough for snaplak to call quits and went down the ground.
"Is there any way I can just breath for a moment?" The sharpclaw grunt can be heard. "I guess not, I suppose." Marin said. They walked through a cave path, only to see a sharpclaw. Next to the sharpclaw is a snowhorn who is hurt, this got marin irritated.
"That does it, I wanna teach that full grown lizard a lesson." "Can I borrow your satchel?" Sabre notices she has some fight in her, at first he doesn't want her in danger to fight the sharpclaw. But if she learns to fight, she would slowly learn to be able to fight as they try to find her brother. So sabre gives her the satchel. "Ok, just whack him on the had." Marin crept behind it, and poked him on his shoulder. The sharpclaw turned around. "Hi there." Marin swung the satchel across its face, knocking it down. Letting go of its club, Marin notices he's trying to get it back, marin took it from it, and bonked it on the head. Knocking it out. "Ha!" "That's what you get." Marin dropped the club, and she and the others went to check on the snowhorn while marin gave his satchel to sabre. The snowhorn opened its eyes. "I am forever in your debt, human."
Snowhorn said. "Its nothing, I'm just sick of those sharpclaws messing with you guys." "It's not right. Marin said. The snowhorn sees tricky. "I see your little friend has yet to learn his flame command." he said. Marin and tricky turned to tricky. "You can do that?" Marin said. Tricky looked a bit shy. "Go on youngster, give it a go." Tricky held its breath, and breathed fire.
"Wow tricky, that's impressive." "I never knew you breathed fire." Tricky blushed a little from Marin's compliment. "Uh, thanks marin." Tricky said in a shy tone. "If I wasn't so exhausted, I could sneak you past the main gates." "I need some food." He said. "Looks like we need to go look for some alpine roots" Marin said. "Let's go look for some. Sabre said. They went through the same path again, and finds a snowy path. But the boulder appeared, gonna take some safe road to not get in harm's way. Then another came down across. "Hurry before another one arrives. Sabre said. The three haste towards the snowy path, and found a safe spot to the left. The icy wall stood in their way. "I'll handle this." Tricky breathed fire at the icy wall, and melted. They went inside, and tricky found something from the grounds.
"Look it looks like I found one." Tricky said and started to dig. Eventually, after he finished. It was indeed an alpine root. Sabre put one in its satchel. They walked back to where the mine is, and found another cave. They went inside and found firewood that's already setup for the campfire. While the floor looked frozen.
"How about a campfire to warm up?" Sabre said. "That sounds nice, after some walk." "I was feeling cold." Marin said. Tricky fired one campfire, and lit one. Marin stood next to it to be warm to have a break from the cold weather. After lighting up two more campfire sets. The frozen ground started to melt and revealed a small passage. "Oh, the frozen ground was hiding a passage down there." Marin said. "I'll go check, you take some time to get warm." Sabre said.
"Well, at least the mine would be a warm shelter there." Tricky said. "Oh yeah, I forgot it did have the lava." Marin said. Sabre and tricky went down there to investigate, fought a snaplak, and proceeded. Sabre sees a root from the ground. "An alpine root." Sabre said. "I'm on it." Tricky dug up the ground, so sabre would be able to get it. Sabre takes the second one, and goes back to the three campfire areas. But there's a problem, sabre and tricky can't get back up.
"Hey marin." Sabre called. Marin hears him, and sees him down there. "I'll get you up there." Marin reached out for sabre's hand, can't reach. Tried again on the ground, she had it. She tried pulling him up, but their hands got released. Sabre was a bit heavy. "Sorry sabre." Marin apologized. "It's alright, we'll just need to find something to get back up there. Sabre found a block that can be pushed. "There, marin I found something to get us back up there." "We'll be right back in a moment." Sabre tells her. "Ok, I'll wait." Marin replied. Sabre finds a block, and pushes it all the way to where they last were. Sabre got up, and helped tricky up. Marin this time has no problem getting sabre up, And helped tricky up as well. "There." "Let's go give some to the snowhorn. "Right." Sabre nodded in response. They all walked back to the gates where the snowhorn is. Sabre and marin gave the snowhorn the alpine root. After the snowhorn each ate both of the alpine root. Snowhorn got back up, and got some energy back.
"I feel much better now." The snowhorn walked to the wooden platform, letting them know that he can give sabre and marin a ride. Sabre and marin climbed to the wooden platform, and got on his back. They rode with the snowhorn all the way to point a to point b of the wooden platform. They both got off, and came down the platform from the ladder. They found what looks like the sharpclaw would be camping. There's what looks like a tent, and some metal platform.
"That looks like a camping ground for the sharpclaws." Tricky said. "Probably sitting while under the general's order." Marin said. Sabre found some mechanical door with the lever. But the lever is frozen, tricky breathed fire at the frozen lever, and melted the ice. Sabre pulled the lever, and the door opened. "Found something?" Marin said. "We found a door." Tricky said. "Ok why don't we keep moving?" Before they could think, the cannon with the sharpclaw emerged from the metal door. "Incoming!" Sabre said. The three dodged the cannon. The sharpclaw tried to go for sabre, and tried firing at him. Sabre and tricky moved the left, while marin on the right. Marin hid behind some tent. She sees they're in trouble, marin looks around within the area for something. She sees something that might help, a plant with a gem on it. She makes a run for it while the sharpclaw is busy trying to get sabre. Marin was able to make it, she reached up, and grabbed the gem. Marin hides behind the tent for a moment, and sneaks behind. She stealthy walks forward behind the sharpclaw on the cannon, and bashes him with the gem on the head. Knocking him out.
"You guys just make things unfair, especially trying to blast him with some cannon." Marin said.
"Good work marin." Sabre said. "You sure showed that stupid sharpclaw." Tricky said.
"Now that we took over the cannon, how do we use it?" Marin looks at the controls and starts with a push of a button. The cannon fires, and blasts one tent, and catches fire. "Ok." "Now we know it fires one." Marin said. After the flame completely burned the tent, there was one gear. Sabre sees it, and grabs one. "Let me take care of a few things with this." Sabre took control of the cannon. He uses it to blast a boarded wall, and a big ball of boulder. "That oughta do it." "I'll go check." Sabre said. He went to check the area, and found three crates. He smashed two of them, that contained two energy eggs, and the other was a second gear.
Sabre comes back, and the three went into the passage where the boulder used to be.
They found an area where the snow looked too misty, which means it's not safe to go in. They walked up the ledge, and found two containers. One was an energy egg, and the other was the third gear. Sabre picks one up, and gives one to marin.
"These are energy eggs, eat them." "They're healthy." Tricky tells her. Marin cracked a shell, and opened the top. And drinks it. She seemed to like it. "Taste good." Marin said. "I found a bridge, we can go another way." Sabre said. So they walked back to the camp area, and headed to the bridge. Just like the other one, it's out.
"Another one?" "Does it mean it needs gears that you found?" Marin said. Sabre looks around to see a ladder. "I'll look there, maybe there's something to make the bridge work so we can cross." Sabre climbed up the ladder, and entered a little cave. Turns out it does need gears to operate a bridge. Like last time, he placed the gears, three of them, And pulled the lever. All the gears start turning together, and the bridge is made. Sabre came back down from the ladder.
"Ok, time to move." They crossed the bridge, and after coming up the ledge they soon met another snowhorn in the cave.
"Across the ravine you will find our most sacred treasure, the horn of truth." "Only a true believer may cross the divide." "Believe in your quest sabre, you must believe." The snowhorn said. Sabre sees a platform across from there, not sure if he would make it. But as long as he believes he will make it. So sabre and jumped, and the hidden bridge appeared. The three crossed the bridge. "Wow, he's right about that." "I bet the planet really is-" "Magic?" Sabre said.
"Yeah." Marin replied. The three went inside, and sabre fired a projectile spell at the button so the platform would lower itself in order for sabre to pick up the horn of truth. The three headed back in, and marin shoulder was tapped by a snowhorn. He wanted a little word. "A question human." "Do you also have something to believe as well?" "That would help you cross the bridge." "Or to keep going on your quest with sabre, and the prince?" The snowhorn asked.
Marin thought about it, then she answered. "There's one I held on to, that kept me to believe." "I believe I will find my little brother, and get home safe." "No matter how hard it is out there, i would try to fight through the sharpclaws if I have to." "That's why i believe, and i will never give up." "And I will keep believing." Marin said. "Then go human, keep believing." "And I know you and your brother will be safe." "As long as you both do, you won't be far from your home planet." The snowhorn said. "Thanks snowhorn" Marin said as she left. "Safe journey marin." The snowhorn said. After the long walk back to where the snowy mist is, they look around.
"So where do we use it?" Tricky said. Marin spotted something square, and tapped the foot on the square. "Hey tricky, can you dig there?" "I might have found something." Marin said.
"Sure thing." Tricky begins to dig, and reveals to be a square with a horn of truth logo.
"So what does it do?" Mari asked. "It can call one of the snowhorn, that way we can cross through this rough mist." Tricky answered. Sabre used the horn of truth, and the snowhorn appeared. And went next to the wooden platform. Sabre and marin got on the wooden platform, and got on the snowhorn's back. "So you, krystal, and your dad randorn are from the same planet?" "Animus right?" Marin asked. "Yep, my home planet." "What's it like out there?" Marin said.
"Well, it's beautiful." "It's a very beautiful planet." My father happens to be the king of the wolven tribe." Sabre said. "Woah, your dad is the king of the tribe?" Marin was surprised. "Yep, lucky me huh?" Sabre said with a chuckle. "I wish i could see what it's like?" "But how do they feel about humans from earth, like me and nial?" Marin asked. "Well, some say your fine, while others are skeptical." "But for my dad, he says you're alright." "He saw from the stars that you guys just do all the random things you do." "Me and my brother were always curious about meeting a human in person." Sabre mentioned his brother, which got marin asking a question. "You have a brother?" Marin said. "Uh huh, my elder brother was the best swordsman for the tribe." "He taught me how to swordplay." Sabre said. "He must be a really good big brother." marin said. "He really is." Sabre said. "I would love to meet your bro, so that he could get a chance." Sabre stayed silent for a few seconds. "I don't think he would." "What do you mean?" Marin wondered. "Because, my brother is dead." The moment marin heard that, it really hit her. Marin feels bad asking about his brother. "What happened?" Marin asked. Sabre was about to answer, but was cut off by a snowhorn.
"We're here." The snowhorn said. They see a wooden platform, and a boarded door. "I'll take care of it." The snowhorn bashed the boarded door, with its tusk." Sabre, and marin got off, and went down from the ladder.
"Hey sabre, sorry if I asked about your brother." "Maybe I shouldn't ask about the planet." Marin said while looking down. "Hey, don't be hard on yourself." "You wanted to know about my planet, there's nothing wrong with that." "Anyone can be curious." "Heck, I am curious about your planet." "Maybe I'll ask someday." "I'm sure there's a lot to tell." Sabre said. "Oh there is." Marin replied. "But you can tell me later." "Are you ready to keep moving?" Sabre asked. "Of course." Marin replied. The three entered the cave. Marin would wander, what had happened to sabre's brother?
