roger sat before the grave, the grave for a crew he would never meet and the crew that his successor was willing to risk everything for. he was sure that the boy could do it, could rewrite history and save his family.

roger sighed when he heard the footsteps of his former cabin boy, the current holder of his legacy. but the screeching that followed those steps told him that they had both come, his two boys that he hadn't seen in decades.

shanks hunkered down beside the man with the help of buggy, his left leg was bent at a wrong angle. buggy draped himself over shanks, his bottom half nowhere in sight.

'what happened to you boys,' roger grimaced when he looked at their faces. buggy's teeth were no longer hidden behind flesh and shanks entire right side looked mauled.

'just a little trouble is all, these days blackbeard doesnt like it when you get near him,' shanks laughed it off or tried to before he started hacking up blood.

buggy wiped his mouth and turned away, 'we ran into the bastard on our way here, we thought we could take him. he looked half dead.'

'but look what happened,' shanks finished, handing the rag back to buggy.

roger brought both of them into his side, wrapping them in haki.

'stay here as long as you like. you need it. both of you.'

roger is 9' so he could hold them like he did when they were children.
