Epilogue
Aragorn slipped down the corridor after yet another council meeting. The door to the nursery was open, and he stole quietly onto the threshold. Arwen was bending over the two cradles, soothing their children to sleep. The sound of her voice reached his ears as she sang a gentle elvish lullaby. Her fingers caressed both of the perfect cheeks, stroking gently and playing with their hair.
Aragorn shook his head, awed again at her beauty. And the beauty of their babies. Sometimes the love simply overwhelmed him. Stepping up quietly, he knelt beside her and also touched both babies' heads. Then he pulled Arwen close and breathed in her ear, "I may not have known your amya, Meleth nin, but I feel as if I do. Not only because of how wonderful you are but because of how you are with our babies. I love you more than words could ever express!"
Arwen leaned into his embrace and brushed her lips against his. "Oh, Estel! I love all of you more than words can express! I don't deserve any of you, but I am so thankful for these precious gifts!"
Neither of them said anymore. There was no need for any words.
