GOING HOME

Mary Ann felt wonderful, better than she could ever remember feeling. No more feeling tired. She felt young, free and ecstatically happy. She stood on the beach and looked out over the water, watching the waves roll gently onto the beach and over her feet. The day was perfect, not too hot, with the slightest of a breeze. Looking up to the blue sky Mary Ann watched as the birds and butterflies flew every which way. She marveled at their colorful wings. She listened to the beautiful songs of the birds and the soothing sound of the ocean and felt a gently breeze. She felt such a peaceful joy so strong inside that she thought it would burst out.

She felt arms slowly go around her waist. "I've missed you my dear."

"Roy, I've missed you so much." turning around Mary Ann slipped her arms around his neck and looked into the most beautiful blue eyes she ever saw. She stood on her toes to give him a kiss. "Please tell me this isn't a dream again. It feels too wonderful for it to be another dream."

"It's not a dream my dear. You're here with me and we'll never be apart again."

"Never apart and in our paradise."

"Not that I don't want you here my dear, but you could have spent more time with the children."

"Roy you know I love our children and grandchildren with my whole heart, but like I told you before, you are my home and it was time to finally go home.

They kissed once more and with an arm around each others waist they walked toward the well worn path of their own paradise home.
