Changes Occur

Part - I

After teleporting outside of the Great Tomb Of Nazarick, Ainz took his ring from Solution and activated the ring leaving Sizu with the carriage, Soul Eaters and Hazons.

Ainz teleported to the 10th floor of the Great Tomb Of Nazarick using the Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown and started walking toward his office. One couldn't teleport to inside of any Supreme Beings room with any kind of teleportation spell like [ GATE ] or even with a Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown. It was due to the mechanism with which members of Ainz Ooal Gown created an impeccable dungeon called Great Tomb Of Nazarick. And due to this mechanism, Ainz didn't directly teleport to his room but instead in a hallway leading to his room.

Ainz didn't mind the fact that he had to walk to his room because of this security mechanism. Instead he was grateful for it. For him, this mechanism allows him to clear his mind and also give time to prepare himself for what isto come.

This time was also no different than any other. This time too Ainz walked slowly to give himself more peaceful time. This time too Ainz''s mind was asking questions to himself and then deliberately tried to answer them. This time too his mind couldn't answer the questions which his own mind asked. However, then this process too raise a troubling question I am undead so do I even have a brain to solve these problems? But this too couldn't be answered by his non-existent brain.

What phase did she talk about this time? "'She' has unlocked the 'box'" what that's supposed to mean?! Who unlocked what box?! Can't they just simply speak in normal language instead of these one-sided codes? But no matter how much Ainz wished that to happen, Ainz himself knew that this would never happen. Because Demiurge and Albedo, two greatest minds of the Great Tomb Of Nazarick, sees him as someone who is not only their master but a being with infinite wisdom which is also so unpredictable that they frequently failed to predict his next non-existent move. Therefore, for them to think that Ainz already knows what they are talking about is nothing but a simple fact.

And Ainz also knows that his frequent mishaps also doesn't help to clear that misunderstanding. However, Ainz often tries to clear that misunderstanding or at least tries to lower their expectations. But both Demiurge and Albedo simply disregard his attempts as his modesty.

Of course, once Ainz thought of explaining that all that event was just a misunderstanding and he is not someone as great or as intelligent as they think he is but he quickly dismissed it after imagining their reaction to his explanation which he believed and feared to be their complete lost faith in him and eventually abandoning him.

Hence, he is trying his hardest to match their expectations. Even if that is unsettling for his mental health.

I didn't ask her at the moment because she might have informed me of this in one of her reports and I don't remember it. And if I had asked her, I might have appealed as a boss who doesn't even remember a simple report which his subordinates work hard to make. And I don't want to appeal as such a terrible boss…

After reaching the door of his room, A heteromorphic maid opened the door for him.

He then entered the room and found that Demiurge was also present inside the room. He had expected Albedo to be here as she had [ MESSAGE ] him but for Demiurge to be here was a surprise for him. However a bad one.

Ainz doesn't like to discuss matters with them alone. Especially if they both are present. Ainz would much rather talk to them in presence of other guardians. But discussing matters with them alone raises a big trouble flag in his non-existent mind. Talking to them alone always makes him afraid of revealing his secret that he is not as intelligent as they think he is and this whole time he has been deceiving them. He fears that if his this secret got out, they wouldn't be as loyal to him as they are now. Because of his this fear, he consistently tries to explain to them that this all was just a misunderstanding and he simplygot lucky with all those events to lower their expectations while also trying to not make his fear into reality. However, everytime he tries to explain to them, they all simply disregard his every attempt as his never-ending modesty.

"Welcome back, Ainz-sama" said Albedo in a sweet tone while in a kneeling position with her heads down.

Even though he had come to Nazarick not too long ago for the discussion on progress of his plan in the Holy Kingdom. She still said "welcome home".

Ainz simply nodded and moved past two kneeling figures and took his chair.

"Raise your heads"

Albedo and Demiurge raise their heads on given permission to do and look at their master's majestic figure sitting on his chair like a Supreme Being he is.

"I hope I didn't make you two wait too long."

After teleporting to Nazarick, Ainz actually got distracted a little while talking to Aura and Sizu and got whole two hour late.

"Not at all, Ainz-sama. We weren't waiting at all."

Ainz now understands from all that trying that they would never admit of being late instead they would say that they were the ones who came earlier rather than Ainz coming late to meeting. Because for them whatever Ainz does is a law. If he says white to be called black then the whole Nazarick would say that black instead of white. So, Instead of once again going into that argument Ainz simply ignored it this time and began the actual meeting.

"So she has unlocked it.." Ainz asked. But more like in a re-affirmate way.

Although it seems that Ainz is trying to reconfirm something which he already knows. But he actually doesn't know who she is or what it suppose to mean. He only knows that it suppose to be the box which he himself gave to this she from his previous conversation with Albedo via [ MESSAGE ].

He is actually trying to get her to explain it without letting her know that he actually doesn't know it.

Ainz can't remember himself giving a box to someone. That's why he thinks that he may have given it to somebody and forgotten about it. He also tried to talk to Aura when he saw her training a dragon in hope that she may have known about it and he may be able to get that information. However, he easily got distracted and started talking about dragon's training instead. In the end, the only thing he got about his questions was disappointment. But he actually got a lot of useful information about the dragon's condition under Aura's training and their development being different from Yggdrasil.

"Yes, Ainz-sama. She has unlocked the box given by Ainz-sama himself. And now we can start the next phase of Ainz-sama's grand plan." Reconfirmed Albedo in a rather happy tone and amused tone.

You already have told me this. Tell me something you haven't! Ainz internally scorns them.

"That is to take over Re-estize Kingdom." Soon added Albedo.

Hu-huh…. Huhhhhhhhhhhhh what do you mean taking over Re-estize Kingdom?! We just took the Holy Kingdom.! It hasn't been a month since they declared their vassalization and we are taking over another Kingdom already!.. It took his emotion suppressor a couple of seconds to calm his panic down.

"Fufufu, To think that Ainz-sama had laid such cunning plans… It hasn't been a month since we vassalized the Holy Kingdom and Ainz-sama already prepared to take over Re-estize Kingdom. Surely, Your unparallel wisdom knows no bounds."

Demiurge bowed his head even deeper in respect and admiration of the being in front of him. Supreme Being Ainz Ooal Gown-sama.

"Uhhh n-no… Demiurge, If it's you, I am sure you will be able to surpass me."

More likely, you already have. Thought Ainz after being forced to calm down by his emotion suppressor.

"I can never imagine myself surpassing your infinite wisdom. However, As a loyal servant of 41 Supreme Beings, I shall reach to the solution of the puzzle Ainz-sama presented to me with." Said Demiurge with bow at the end of the sentence. Demiurge was happy to be presented a puzzle by the leader of Supreme Beings Ainz himself. Although Ainz himself didn't intend on giving Demiurge a puzzle of any kind by that sentence.

"Ah no. I really mean it." Muttered Ainz in a low voice but unfortunately that muttering only met deaf ears.

Coughed Ainz to bring the topic back to Re-estize Kingdom.

"Albedo, So, what do you think we should do now?" Asked Ainz in a pretending curious tone. But that pretending wasn't actually 'pretending' on Ainz half. He was in a way actually curious to know the answers of question marks in his head. Like who is 'she' ? What did 'she' unlock? And what next phase? We Just vassalized the Holy Kingdom and are we going to capture Re-estize Kingdom right now? His doubts were that they HAD plan to capture Re-estize Kingdom but were they really this early? Or is just that he didn't remember and they really were THIS early?.. however his biggest question mark was why would Albedo [ MESSAGE ] him to inform him of this when she knew that he was on his way to Nazarick.

By asking her what she thinks we should do now?. He was trying to get the answers of his question marks without letting her know that he actually doesn't know all this. So, in a way, he actually was curious to know her answer. But to Albedo this seems a test of her abilities. To her, Ainz is asking her: what she thinks about what we should do now? To test her abilities as a Guardian Of Great Tomb Of Nazarick. Because to her, Ainz already knows all this and he actually has a plan in his mind but he is still asking her about her view to test what answer she would arrive at. Ahhh to think Ainz-sama would be this generous… This was Albedo's first thought after arriving at the conclusion that Ainz is testing her abilities as a Guardian Of Great Tomb Of Nazarick to see how far she has evolved in this span of time. But this also was a great deal of pressure in itself. To be tested by a Supreme Being. No. The leader of Supreme Beings contains a huge amount of pressure while also being very pleasing.

"Considering that she still has one final requirement to 'fully' unlock the item and receive its contains. However, when we gave her this item, we had thought that it would take her at least two-three more months to fulfill its tough requirement. But she has surpassed our expectations and has fulfilled its tough requirement before we had expected and also before she fulfill its easy requirement…. I think she has proved herself worthy to have granted that… Even before we had expected and planned. Normally, this sudden change would have interfered with Ainz's plan of cream and whip a little. But fortunately the easy requirement would be fulfilled in a month or half. Which is also in time for our puppet to be made. So I think this all eventually worked in our favor.. maybe a little too much in our favour-" she then giggled and muttered-"maybe Ainz-sama had also predicted it too."

She faked a cough and then returned to the main topic at hand "So, Your loyal servant thinks we should proceed with expectations of capturing Re-estize Kingdom before we initially planned it to be. Your loyal servant thinks we should fasten some work to match this new movement."

Ah! Why can't they just explain things in simple human language instead of these codes which only they could understand?! 'she' but who is she? Item but which item?.. thought Ainz but didn't voice his thoughts.

Ainz was still perplexed as to who this she might be?. Ainz wouldn't have minded even if he didn't find out her identity if not for Albedo to use spell [ MESSAGE ] to inform him of this information as quickly as possible and she has done it precisely because she thinks this piece of information is very important and she should inform him of this information as quickly as possible and hence, she used a spell like [ MESSAGE ] to inform him immediately even though she knew he is returning to Nazarick. And because she thinks that this information is very important, he too thinks he should know of it to avoid major issues. One of those issues includes for Ainz to avoid them-Demiurge and Albedo-know of Ainz real intelligence which Ainz believe to be very, very low in comparison to them.

However, Ainz himself didn't realise but his constant involvement of world politics, economic, politics in general and all of his acting. He has actually acquired a level of sense for all of these, especially his way of talking and his thought process which has become a-lot like ruler. His words have become very, very majestic from all of his constant talks like a majestic Overlord, even many rulers would find themselves at shame when they hear him talk. It's just that Ainz always compares himself with Albedo and Demiurge that he hasn't realised how far he has improved or he hasn't realised how intelligent he has become. He just compares himself with wrong beings. And whenever no matter how little time but whenever he does actually compare himself with other rulers like the Ruler of Baharuth Empire, he doesn't see himself with their perspective, he always sees their performance and just assumes that his performance is bad.

A proof of his intelligence is the fact he understood the purpose of Albedo immediately using a spell like [ MESSAGE ] to inform him of something with just that little interaction.

"Hmm..-" Ainz then put his fist on his chin to assume the pose of him in deep thinking. After sometime he spoke "-we can decide after listening to the piece of information Demiurge is here for."

"fufufu… Ainz-sama already knows what I am here for?... fufufu to think Ainz-sama has predicted for it to happen too… I am once again in complete awe of your unfathomable intellectual."Demiurge then bowed his head in respect.

To his statement, Ainz was left confused. To Ainz, he only asked for the information which Demiurge is here for. And mainly to delay his answer to Albedo. But while his main purpose of asking that was to delay his answer and to gather time to collect his thoughts for his answer to Albedo, he did want to know why Demiurge was here. He was only informed of Albedo being here not Demiurge but since Ainz was actually going to have a discussion of the vassalization of the Holy Kingdom after returning to Nazarick with Albedo as Demiurge was working outside and he didn't want to trouble him more than he had to, he assumed that Demiurge too got something to tell him immediately and decided to return to Nazarick immediately and joined the discussion with Albedo.

But while Ainz was confused, he did manage to lift his right hand as if ordering to lift his head and continue.

Demiurge then lifted his head and said "Ainz-sama, 38 minutes and 29 seconds ago I received a [ MESSAGE ] from one of my subordinates and reported that he spotted a white beam of ray while he was in the Holy Kingdom. He said that this beam of ray lasted less than a second but he managed to locate its origin. When he got close to its origin he spotted two high-level Angels and three normal kneeling humans. And he believed that they were wearing Divine-class items from Yggdrasil. I judged that this information is very valuable and immediately returned to Nazarick to inform Ainz-sama… However, it seems Ainz-sama has predicted for it to happen."

Demiurge's words visibly shook Albedo a little. But the most shook person from that information was Ainz.

"Divine-class items… could those beings be Players?" asking Albedo in a careful and low voice.

"However, according to those tales, Players arrive every 200 hundred years. And it hasn't been that long yet."

while Demiurge and Albedo were discussing all this possibility, Ainz was thinking about the information Demiurge informed him of. But this doesn't meant that he wasn't listening to their this little interchange at all. His subordinate must be talking about that 'ray'... They 'ray' which looked similar to a weaker Angel summoning spell… But his servant spotted high-level Angels wearing Divine-class items. They could be Players from Yggdrasil… however, like Demiurge said. It hasn't been 200 years yet.. but what if the whole thing about a new Player arriving every 200 years is just a speculation and Players CAN arrive in this world before 200 years have been completed… that also a possibility.. but first I have to confirm that those are the Players I know of or not.

"Demiurge, what do they look like?"

"Yes! Ainz-sama, my subordinate reported that…."

After discussing about all the possibilities for a while. An idea came into Ainz's head that maybe that ray is a powerful version of the Yggdrasil Angel summoning spell he is familiar with. And those angels might be summoned creatures and those kneeling humans which Demiurge's subordinate also spotted summon them. But then, why would those humans kneel to creatures they summoned and have complete control over?.. to confirm his doubt Ainz asked demiurge if his subordinate heard the conversation between them but unfortunately, he told that his subordinate spotted some hazaron coming to his way and he immediately flew as to avoid being spotted by those Hazons and immediately after he informed all this to Demiurge.

In the end, they decided to not uselessly speculate anymore and gather more information about them. And about Re-estize Kingdom they decided that they would fasten some work by which time their puppet too would be perfectly ready. By this new progress they should be able to capture Re-estize Kingdom in a month or so.

Three days after the Cardinal meeting.

In a dark and isolated cave. An old lady calmly walked toward the dragon instead of fearing the dragon in front of her. After reaching a close enough distance to hold the conversation, the dragon addressed the old lady.

"I thought it would take you more time."

"I haven't completed my investigation. I stumbled upon a very important piece of news that I thought I should inform you of first as it may be enough to defeat that."

At her words. The dragon was visibly confused and curious to know as to what kind of news she deemed so important that it may very well be enough to defeat that.

He signaled her to continue with his head.

"Three days ago, I was in Slane Theocracy for …. And then, I heard the news of a certain sector of capital to remain closed that day, so I decided to find out what they were doing in that sector by isolating it a bit."

Old lady stopped and wore an expression which seems to say you want to know it don't you. Or like a friend who tells you something and knows that you would be extremely interested in it and creates suspense and to tease you… yeah like that..

Old lady then re-affirmed "You want to know. Don't you?... Hahahaha" she then burst out of laughter seeing Dragon's expression.

"Okay, okay.. no messing around. I saw … Angels ….. literal God… "

And as to why I didn't upload it more sooner is because due to less corona cases in my state, my school's new session started offline on regular timing like it was before all this corona sh*t and because my school's online classes were sh*ts ... really! It was literal sh*t.. my school for some weird reason decided to create a whatsapp group and message all the stuff of our class instead of holding a video online class like they should have and also like they competitive schools were… and because of that I still don't understand the fundamental of a class below me means the fundamental of a class when corona happened… and also because of that I now have to study twice as hard and this also doesn't help the fact that this class is the MOST important school year for me. Because in my country the result of this class is VERY, VERY important in competitive exams which I will be giving in the next 2 years.. so, you can guess the pressure of study I have now.. and because of all this pressure of studies and the classes now being held offline and also the coaching I have to attend now, I don't have a minute left to write.. really!..

I wake up at 6:00am then get ready and leave for school at 6:45 am then I return home at 2:20 pm then I change my uniform and eat lunch and leave for coaching at 2:55pm then I return from coaching at 7:15pm then I have to sleep At 9:00 pm to actually be able to wake up at 6:00am… now you may think that I have the time from 7:15pm to 9:00pm (means when I return from coaching to all the way when I sleep) to write it, right?... But my friend, reality isn't always what it seems like it is… I have to actually finish my homework from both school and coaching in that time…. And even if someday I don't get the homework and am free to do whatever I want in that time, I get so mentally exhausted that I am no longer in the right mind to be able to write anymore…

And for me writing a part of a chapter takes like 1-2 weeks with 6 hours per day… so you can imagine that I can't write in my current schedule..

But maybe you are wondering now that if that's the case then how I am able to write even this chapter? Hmmmmm? *With a smug face I imagined you guys saying this*... I was able to write it because I already had written the part till Albedo before my school started and I am in complete bed rest by doctor ( for my intestine problem )and that's why I was able to write this chapter ( at least this much )... I initially planned to end this chapter with the mock battle between zetsumei and an angel being.. but as you can see I barely wrote the cave part and just made it as a teaser…

But let me get this straight, I was really planning on not even finishing this chapter. I was only motivated to finish this chapter after the review 'peng nin'.. otherwise I was literally planning on just leaving this story..

And by the way, the next chapter will only be character sheets of Jagrath and Azael as I realised that I haven't made it upload it yet.. so you should expect it within 2 days or so.. and by the way in the next chapter I will be explaining my plans for this story. So that I could help any of you who want to write/continue this story…

And also I am really, really bad at Ainz's conversation with anyone.. so to write that whole part was pain in the a**... And I thought I finally got a beta reader who could help me with this, but unfortunately, he too got busy in his life… hence if any of you think that you could write a part of the story for me to help me upload way way better chapter and sooner too.. then please to me in the reviews that you are interested and I will include my plans for those part in the next chapter afterwords..
