Chapter 6
Aftermath
On that same night, the night of the third day, the unconscious Droid Cop was arrested by the Kyoto Municipal Police after All Might explained to them about what had happened. Soon, the news of Droid Cop's arrest was heard all over the city, the country, and then eventually the entire world.
It became the most significant news coverage in Kyoto, equally rivaling the other big news about the arrest of the Hero Killer Stain, which was also developing right now, too. The Kyoto civilians were shocked about the revelation of Droid Cop's arrest and the crime that the police and Pro Heroes discovered. Relating to his crime, the Weather Twins were also arrested. The police found them defeated and tied up with a rope by someone of unknown. They didn't know what happened to them, but they explained that they were attacked by a masked hero who didn't give out his name after regaining consciousness. They described what he looked like because he was a regular man who used a unique device that transformed him into a masked hero before they fight.
It sounded very much like a Kamen Rider, but I guess that the man I met and saved my life, and the one who defeated the Weather Twins, was none other than the main protagonist of the Kamen Rider Zio show, SougoTokiwa. However, he was just a fictional character played by an actor. He shouldn't be real, and yet, he was the one who gave me this new driver. Was he the real Sougo Tokiwa, maybe from another dimension? If so, then are Kamen Riders real in another dimension? It was crazy to think if that is true, but I would probably never know anyway, no matter what.
The Weather Twins confessed their crime. They made contact about four months ago. Yatagarashu was hired around the same time. While she stole the jewels and other priceless goods, the Weather Twins stole money from banks. Then, they met up and made trade. Finally, they met Miss Kobayashi, Droid Cop's secretary, and accomplice, to make the final trade. It will be revealed in few days that Droid Cop and Miss Kobayashi have been doing this for a couple of years. They hired villains to do the robberies and then betrayed them when their "contract" is expired or see fit and make Droid Cop's image a Pro Hero more attentive for the public eyes.
The police had raid Droid Cop's mansion, and all locations he privately owned were also in the process of investigations. Fortunately, it was only him and his secretary involved in the crimes. All of his hired sidekicks and agency office workers didn't know anything about the crimes right under their noses. They were just as surprised, and due to Droid Cop's arrest, the agency was most likely going to close down.
The Weather Twins and Droid Cop were sent to the maximum-security prison, Tartarus. Miss Kobayashi, who is Quirkless, would be sent to an ordinary female-only prison. She may get a lighter sentence because she was just an accomplice and only following orders. On the other hand, Droid Cop, her former boss, will not only have his Pro Hero license revoked but will be punished with a heavier sentence, possibly a life sentence.
Yatagarashu, Yuko was sent to the hospital. They performed surgery to remove the bullet from inside her body. They were successful, and she was on the path to recovery. She would need to stay in the hospital for a while to check over her while the police heavily guarded her.
As for me, I wasn't injured and comforted by the Pro Heroes.
"Tatsumi!" Speed Girl hugged me tightly. "Are you OK? Are you not hurt?"
"Yeah, I am fine, Speed Girl-sensai, but please, could you let me go? I can't breathe!" Tatsumi said. He had a blanket over him, given by the emergency medical people. He was no longer in his Rider suit.
Speed Girl realized it. "Just a little bit more. You are one of my precious students, like my babies!"
She hugged him tight before she finally let him go after a couple of seconds.
"Ha, ha, ha! Well, at least you are fine now, Young Tatsumi!" All Might proclaimed. "I am just glad to arrive here in time."
"Thank you, Mr. All Might," Tatsumi said.
"Excuse me." They turned to be greeted by Detective Saito from Kyoto Municipal Police. "I'm Detective Saito, and I would like to have some words with you, All Might and Speed Girl."
"Sure thing," All Might replied.
"Stay here, OK, Tatsumi?" She said as she and All Might went with Detective Saito to talk privately.
Tatsumi checked his Smartphone and noticed that he got several text messages. It was some of his friends from Class 1-L at UA High. They heard about what had happened to him, and there were also some text conversations about what had happened in Hosu City. Tatsumi sent some replies, assuring that he is safe, and they responded with emojis to tell that they were relieved to hear that.
"Young Tatsumi, could you please come with me?" All Might asked, catching his attention.
He put his phone away for now and followed All Might. They entered a warehouse. He saw Detective Saito, Speed Girl, and another man. This man was taller than the detective and his teacher, but interestingly, he had ahead of fox and foxtail showing out of his suit pants. He wore a gray suit with matching color for the pants.
"Young Tatsumi, this man is Hayato Konko, the Chief of Kyoto Municipal Police," All Might introduced.
'Wow! The Chief himself?! I wonder why he is here….' He thought excitedly as his heart raced.
"Tatsumi, Chief Konko here just wants to say few words to you," Speed Girl noted.
"Thank you for bringing him here, All Might," Chief Konko said as he grinned at Tatsumi. His voice sounded gentle yet mysterious in a way. Hearing it made you feel less worried. "Greeting, Tatsumi-Kun. I'm Chief Konko from Kyoto Municipal Police."
"Hello, sir," Tatsumi greeted.
"First off, I want to say thank you for revealing Droid Cop's true persona and bringing justice to our fair city. I humbly am grateful for that," Chief Konko said, which made Tatsumi blushed a bit.
"Oh, well, it's nothing. I only did it because I thought it was right," he answered as he rubbed the back of his head.
"True, true," Chief Konko assured before his expression changed more serious. "However, what you did here was also in-moral."
"Huh?" Tatsumi looked at the fox man with a confused look.
"You see, Tatsumi-Kun, back in the old days, when more Quirk users appear in our societies around the world, crimes also increased, and the ethical philosophy of Quirk was born out of it. Due to that, the police have declared never to use their Quirk. However, this decision also created a problem in stopping villains or people who would abuse their Quirk for ulterior motives. That is why heroes were born to fill that gap. With powers that can kill someone, laws were created to govern over heroes' action, so every Pro Heroes have to have a license to perform what they do. Do you understand so far?" He asked.
"Um, yes, I do." He replied as he had a feeling where this was going.
"Good," Chief Konko nodded. "In that case, when you fought Droid Cop, while admirable, it was very illegal since you are only of a child and no provisional license. Therefore, your action cannot go unpunished."
Tatsumi understood what he means. Even if you saw a crime was happening right in front of your eyes, you cannot engage to stop it even if you could with a Quirk or not. Only Pro Heroes or police can step in to do something, but even so….
"I understand what I did was wrong, but!" Chief Konko and everyone else watched him. "I think standing around and doing nothing is also wrong, too, Chief Konko! I admit that what I did was illegal, but if you hear my reason, I only did what I did because I thought it was the best course of action, and I thought the police wouldn't believe me even if I did say everything about Droid Cop since he, well at least he was a Pro Hero."
Chief Konko stared at the boy for a moment and sighed. "Yes, I would agree with you on that. Most likely, my officers would not believe in your claim at first, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. If anything, you could've told one of your teachers, and they could've rushed in to help you much faster."
Tatsumi realized that and felt sorry. "Sorry, sir. I guess I was in the moment that I didn't think of that."
"Well, nonetheless, your safety is our top priority, and I will let you go as long as you agree that what had happened here wasn't your doing. Mr. All Might here will take all the credits if that is OK with you." This revelation surprised Tatsumi. "Of course, that means that you don't get any credits at all, but even so, I am humbly, truly grateful for what you did."
Tatsumi smiled warmly. "Yes, sir. I like that idea better."
"Though, that doesn't change the fact that someone has to take responsibility for this," Speed Girl said sadly, hinting that she is the one who's responsible for it.
'That sounds sucks. I wonder what she means by that,' Tatsumi wondered.
"Well, at least everything is fine now, and that's count!" All Might said epically as he laughed. "Come on, Young Tatsumi. Let's go home. Your parents must be worried by now."
After that, Tatsumi was taken back home. His parents were thrilled to see him safe and sound. Even his father, who was a busy man, left for work early to see him. They were just glad to see him.
For the rest of the internship week, Tatsumi stayed at home. The Kyoto Police had questioned him about everything he knew, including how he had met Yatagarashu when she saved him while chasing after one of the Weather Twins. He relaxed for the time being at his home, which also allowed him to study the new driver he got. He also got his stuff back, including his original Mix Driver.
As he examined the new driver belt, he was amazed by it. The technologies, the circuit it was made with, were far advanced.
"It is true. This driver has something that doesn't exist anywhere! It must be from another dimension!" Tatsumi exclaimed. "So that means that man I met! He is the real Kamen Rider Zio!"
Tatsumi was also excited and astonished that he could feel his brain will fry from the excitement itself. He relaxed on the bed to calm himself down and just relaxed as he stared at the white ceiling. He looked up and grabbed one of his Kamen Rider action figures. He grabbed Kamen Rider Zio.
"If Zio is real, then that means all of these Riders are real, too. Possibility, though I can't prove it, still, it's so cool!" He stated.
"But then, I wonder why he gave me this driver," he said as he turned back to the Ziku Mix Driver on his work desk. "Whatever the reason, I am glad that he did. Maybe he gave it to me to help fight Droid Cop. Well, since he gave it to me, I have no choice but to keep it. I am going to test all kinds of combinations to see what kind of power I can use with this!"
"Tatsumi!" He heard his mother calling. "Dinner is ready!"
"OK, mom!" He responded as he put the driver on his desk and went to eat.
"Say, son." His father talked with Tatsumi. "You got a letter today."
"For me?" Tatsumi asked.
"Yeah. Though, it doesn't have any sender's address," his father explained.
"Oh?" He checked the envelope and indeed, he was right. There was no sender's address.
After dinner, he went back to his room and decided to open the envelope. Inside it was a letter, and he read it.
"Dear Tatsumi,
How are you doing? It's me, Yuko!"
Tatsumi's eyes widened when he read that name.
"You are probably wondering how I know your address. Well, let's say I know how to gather information. I won't tell you how, but it is one of my specialties!
Anyway, I want to say thank you for everything. I know that there are a lot of things you want to talk about me, but I can't say all that right now. You are probably mad because I am a thief, and you are learning to be a Pro Hero and all. So most likely, we will conflict or possibly fight.
Don't worry, though! Even if we do have to fight, I will probably kick your butt easily, anyway, just like how I beat you in the arm-wrestling contest when we were kids."
Tatsumi rolled his eyes. He remembered that contest, and it wasn't a delightful memory, too.
"Well, I hope that we will meet someday, and if you ever need any help, know a piece of paper or white cloth on a tree branch. You will see when you need to do it, but only do it if you need me, and to warn you, there will be a price. But, if you do want my help, the first time will be discounted. I promise!
See you!"
At the corner of the letter, her emblem of the three-legged crow printed. Tatsumi grinned and looked up to the windows, wondering if she was watching him right now. Then, he put the letter safely in his drawer and began writing things in his notebook.
Outside his homes, a flock of crows flew by over his house and the neighborhood as it flew towards the sunset.

A police vehicle was driving through the mountain path. Inside the big car, Droid Cop, aka Kazuma Heiji, was sitting down with a handcuff and seat belt.
Then, he noticed that the vehicle stopped. The drivers got out and then opened the door, revealing a blinding light at first.
"Get out!" They ordered him.
Thinking they arrived, the arrested man listened to what they said and got out of the vehicle, but it wasn't a place he thought he would be.
They weren't at Tartarus or even nowhere near it. They were in a clearing. In front of them were some people he had never meet before.
"Hello, Mr. Heiji, or should I refer to your former Pro Hero name? Which do you prefer?" A man asked.
"Who are you?" Kazuma asked.
"My name is Judge Light, and here, we are gonna have your judgment," Judge Light revealed.
"What?" He said before the two officers pushed him from the side and put him down to the ground. He was now in a kneeling position.
"Your action is unforgivable, Mr. Droid Cop. You were a great hero, idolized by many people worldwide, and helped the Kyoto civilians, protecting them from villains. However, that is all in the past."
Suddenly, Judge Light wavered his arm as a bright, glowing sword made of pure light energy formed in his hand.
"Wait, what are you going to do with that?" He asked, feeling a bit afraid in his voice.
"As I said, Mr. Droid Cop, I am going to give you your judgment," Judge Light answered. "Your judgment for your action is death."
"What?! No!" He gasped. As he tried to squirm away, Judge Light shot in the legs by shooting a beam of light from his finger.
"Ah!" He screamed in pain.
"It seems that the pain suits you well," Judge Light stated.
"You bastard! What do you think you're doing?! Aren't you a Pro Hero?! I am going to activate my Quirk! My Quirk is Siren, so I will let someone know what you are doing to me!" Kazuma yelled.
"Even if you do, we are like over 100 meters away from the closet town. No will hear you," Judge Light said as he faced him, looking down over the helpless former pro hero.
"Wait, no, please don't do this! I can pay you; I'm warning you!" He warned.
"Your money isn't worth a yen," Judge Light replied as he held the beam sword up high, and then….
SLASH!
"Gaaaah!" A head rolled off from the body, leaving the decapitated body in the same position before it drooped.
"This is all for the betterment of a just society," Judge Light said as he turned and walked away.
