Chapter Seven

"So you don't like the name Claire?" He asked holding me in his arms.

There we are curled up in bed like an ordinary couple but this situation was far from normal.

"It might be a boy but no. I just don't love the name. I don't hate it,"I said finally.

Iwas afraid to have an opinion about what my child should be named.

"I know the baby is a girl. I just know somehow. I want you to pick out a name that you like," he said frustrated.

How considerate of him, I think always surprised how he'll be randomly kind one moment and completely crazy the next.

"I do have a name in mind. My sister loved fairy-tales. Mermaids, princesses, fairies, castles, and unicorns. You get the idea. She was still a big kid in so many ways. I even found her a necklace with a mermaid on it. Well she wanted to name her daughter Jasmine like the princess from Aladdin. I kind of like the way it sounds. And I don't know if I'll even get to see the baby so maybe my opinion doesn't matter," I said looking at the ground.

He pulls me close to his chest and kisses the top of my blonde hair.

"I like the way it sounds too. Jasmine Claire Blake is a beautiful name," he whispers.

In the moment I allow him to kiss me. For a second everything feels completely normal and I almost forget I am a prisoner.
