Camp and the Chariot Race

Routine chapter. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Also very good job on the reviews. If you had something should I say, I liked, then I PM'd you concerning it.

As for the Titan's curse of officially revealing half of the secret lineage, I will do so. Meaning Percy's parent will be revealed - mostly - in the Titan's curse. Along with another big secret. So just stay patient in that.

Onto the chapter!

Disclaimer: I do not own PJO

It had been a couple of days since Percy, Annabeth and Tyson came to camp and it had been a mess. By now, the entire camp had heard of the news. At first people were shocked. Weren't the Big Three supposed to have a pact about not having any more children?

Then Thalia was brought up and soon all of camp had shut up. Many people completely shunned the son of the Sea god, simply because he was a cyclops. The only people that were happy about Tyson was Percy, Annabeth - of course - and the Hephestus cabin.

A cyclops meant more hands for the forge. More people on forge meant happy children of Hephestus.

There were some people that were indifferent to Tyson. Most of these being people close to Annabeth and Percy. Meaning the Stoll twins, most of Annabeth's siblings as well as surprisingly Clarisse. A few others mingled in the cabins also.

Currently, everyone was in the middle of lunch at the Amphitheater. Percy - still at the Hermes table - was in the middle of the twins' assault on one another.

"She's mine, Conner!"

"Finders keepers, losers weepers!"

"That just proves she's mine!"

Conner just pouted. "You're no fun."

Percy just sighed. If he had been following their conversation correctly, they were arguing on Travis' first ever crush, Katie Gardner. Conner claimed he wanted Katie while Travis claimed Katie was his only. It had soon turned childish when water balloons came out of nowhere as the twins threw them at each other.

Percy sighed once more. Thanks to them his white shirt was sticking to his body nicely. Looking down made Percy rethink whether this was a good or bad thing. A quick glance toward the Aphrodite children showed a couple of the girls bite their lips at him. And a boy as well.

Cue Percy's shiver.

Percy was at the age where he was starting to appreciate the opposite sex. Meaning, girls now were becoming more than just annoying or acquaintances. He was starting to enjoy their...natural beauty.

Their figures mostly.

So this wet white shirt turned translucent may not be a bad thing after all.

Suddenly, Tantalus stood up, water disappearing into thin air from his cup. The replacement scowled at it before looking at the kids.

"Alright, demigods. Now that more of you are showing up as summer is about to begin, I thought I would introduce or shall I say reinstate a new camp activity!" Most of the campers just looked confused. Annabeth's hand - of course her - shot into the air, patiently waiting to be called upon.

Tantalus let out a long breath. "Yes, child of Athena?"

Said girl had this glint in her eyes that Percy recognised. "What type of activity will this be? One of the daily ones, like Archery and Arena fighting? Or more like Capture the Flag?"

The dead man brought back to life squinted his eyes in frustration at Annabeth. "If you had let me continue, I would have explained it all." Under his gaze, she quickly sat back down.

Clearing his throat, Tantalus spoke in a show-persons voice, loud and demanding the attention of all.

"Ladies and gentleman, I announce we will be playing an old Camp Half-Blood tradition of Chariot Races once more!"

There were many whoops and cheers, mainly from the Ares cabin but there were just as many worried looks. What would this mean for everyone? How do they play it? Before Percy could raise his hand to ask his question, his blond-haired best friend beat him to the punch.

Standing up, she said, "How do we play? What are the rules?"

Tantalus just glared at her before she slowly sank back into her seat. He then smiled. "The game is simple! Every cabin will be able to choose three representitives to play for them! They can be of the same cabin or any other!" In a dark voice he said, "No cabin can opt out. This is a must for all."

While most of the people's worried glances turned frightful, the Ares kids turned excited. "As for the objective, it is also simple! There is a starting line, then a finish line and whoever crosses first wins! As for when you guys are racing, anything goes."

Dionysus coughed. "Yes yes, besides killing." Dionysus coughed once more. Tantalus huffed before saying in a small childish voice. "Nor permanently injuring someone." Then his voice perked up back into it's announcer voice. "Other than that, anything goes!"

Everyone - including the Ares cabin - had uneasy looks on their faces. This game sounded as if it could turn bad real fast. Percy watched as Annabeth's hand flew up once more. Tantalus sighed at her. "Yes?"

She took this as her cue to stand up, blond princess curls jumping and eyes glittering. Percy understood that Annabeth was looking forward to this game a lot. "When will we play?"

The cursed man actually smiled. "Ah, thank you! I had forgotten. Every other Wednesday we will play this." Clapping his hands, he finished with, "Now! This will be starting...next Wednesday. Meaning exactly in a week! Meaning, you have one week to build your chariots!"

Clarisse was the one to stand up this time. "How will we do that when we have so many activities as is?"

Tantalus tapped his chin. "Good point. You all have half days now but only for this week. After lunch you must dedicate yourselves to building your chariot! Now, chop chop!"

With that, everyone quickly filed out of the Amphitheater. The entire Hermes cabin left also, indicated with all the right leaving the bench Percy was still sitting on. All the twins gave him were two pats on the back before walking away together whispering. Percy guessed they already had a good idea as to how their chariot would be built.

Percy sighed. Looks like he would just be a spectator in this event.

A big weight suddenly sat next to him, lowering the bench he was sitting on. Looking left showed one big brown and huge smile looking directly at Percy.

"Big Percy!"

The bi-colored haired boy softly smiled. "Tyson, my man. What do you need?"

Tyson started shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "Well, big dead guy said we need three companions for the chariot, but theirs only one me. So I was hoping Big Percy could be my companion?" He ended with a shaky smile.

Percy internally screamed with delight. Yes, he had really wanted to participate in this event! Putting a nonchalant expression on his face he said, "Yeah no problem, Tyson. You know you can ask me whatever you'd like."

Tyson's huge grin returned to his face before quickly wrapping his arms around Percy. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now we need one more."

Percy coughed as he was finally released from Tyson's strong grip. Looking around, he noticed that most people had cleared out by now.

Most people.

Percy's purple eyes locked onto a familiar pair or stormy grey before saying aloud, "Tyson, I think I have just found our third member."

According to Annabeth, the plan of the chariot was simple. To both Annabeth and Percy's surprise, Tyson agreed. Percy was the only one that was majorly confused.

The trio had spent every spare hour they had the week after the announcement to build the chariot. Percy was used mainly as a helper. Holding this here, fetching something else or creating supplies/parts they needed like celestial bronze.

As they finished Tuesday night, they all stood up and stared at what they made.

"I have to give it to you, Big guy. You really know how to make your stuff."

Tyson's cheeks became warm as he threw his arms into the air and shouted, "Thank you, Big Percy!"

Annabeth's face became an ugly red as she pouted. "Hey, I'm the one that came up the design that suited us all!"

Tyson promptly wrapped them both in a big group hug. "Of course, Annie! You were amazing. We all are!"

Both Percy and Annabeth's cheeks heated up, but it was a mix of pride and embarrassment. When they finally broke up, the trio headed back toward the cabins. Annabeth's thoughts were mainly thinking of how to win the next day's chariot race. Percy's thoughts were of how to win awesomely. While Tyson's thoughts were much simpler.

Does he have any more peanut butter to eat in his cabin?

Tyson loves his peanut butter.

Finally, they said their goodbyes and split ways, managing to make it in just before curfew. As they all fell asleep that night, they could never imagine what the next day's troubles would bring.

"Percy! Thank the gods you're here!"

The first thoughts in Percy's head were 'oh great, another crazy lucid demigod dream'

"Look man, I don't have much time! The giant- ''Grover's voice suddenly turned staticy, like the connection had dropped. "- has set a time for how long I can delay him. He thinks I'm in here making a wedding dress, because apparently he thinks I'm a female- '' The connection dropped again. "- and he wants to marry me!"

Percy only then looked around and noticed where they were. It seemed to be a cave, with minimal light. Grover was sitting on a rock with some white cloth bunched in his hands. The veil was no longer covering his face but his skin-tight dress was still on, although ripped at places. Panic was the clear emotion written all over his body, as he frantically looked around as if someone might hear him speaking.

A loom was in front of him, presumably to sew. Then Percy understood. Grover was making another wedding dress.

"Perce, I have two and a half weeks. Please come save me! The monster- " Cue the static that made Percy unable to hear one of his best friends words. " -is starting to get smarter. I've told him I'm making the same dress for the past month."

Then Percy could hear a loud gruff voice calling out to Grover. "Hey lady. Who's you talking to?"

Grover's skin turned white, while his hooves frantically tapped on the ground in nervousness. His voice then turned extremely high as it tried to imitate a woman. "Nobody, sweetheart! You know I only want you!"

The booming voice chuckled. "I know, my little pumpkin. Now finish your dress so we can be married!"

Grover didn't bother responding, as everything slowly started fading from Percy's view. Just when everything was gone, Grover was left, still sitting on the rock. With panic once more covering his features he said, "Percy, don't abandon me. You know how I get when there are abandonments!"

Percy could see a shiver run up his empathy-linked friend's back, and swore he heard Grover whisper, "It's the ghosts man. I will get raped."

Then the satyr faded from view.

And Percy sat straight up in his bed, sweat coating his body.

Tantalus was standing in front of the bizarre looking chariots, while Percy sat and reviewed every chariot. Each looked unique and deadly in their own ways.

The Apollo chariot was made of brilliant gold, of course. When you stared at it for too long, your eyes began to hurt. There didn't seem to be any weapons on board besides the three bows the blond haired children held. Percy thought their smiles were just as blinding as their chariot. The chariot was pulled by two pure white - surprisingly not pegasi - horses.

The Ares chariot looked scary. Pure red, with black splayed here and there. Weapons of all types were strewn everywhere. The wheels had spikes sticking out so if you were to get too close… ouch. Percy noted how he could see bottles of the green greek fire positioned for easy reach, in case they needed to be thrown. The children themselves seemed ready to see some blood shed. A part of Percy craved for some too. The chariot was hauled by two red and black horses that seemed to come from Tartarus itself, with magma falling from their black skin.

The Dionysus chariot seemed more on the bland side. Made of normal oak wood, a purple flag on a flagpole stuck up with Dionysus' symbol on it. The twins of Dionysus - Pollux and Castor - had managed to get what seemed to be a random camper from the Hermes cabin. The three looked so excited for the race. Note the sarcasm. Two brown and white pegasi were up front, pulling the chariot.

The Demeter cabin seemed to have the most...unique design. It seemed to be made completely of plants and seemed to resemble Cinderella's carriage. It had no weapons, just a completely enclosed chariot that was slick and made for speed. The children of Demeter were already seated inside of it. Again, two normal pegasi were up front.

The Athena cabin's chariot looked very good. Made for speed, it had a variety of different woods, slick and lean. Crossbows were lined up along the sides, easy for firing deadly three foot-long arrows at targets. Again, they too had greek fire. The children of Athena looked very proud of their work and weren't afraid to show it. Two strong looking horses were up front, standing tall and mighty.

The Aphrodite chariot looked exactly as you would imagine. Made for comfort, the wood was lined with plush looking chairs that looked perfect for relaxing in. The wood itself looked dyed pink, with flowers lining the sides. There were a couple of daggers lying around to be thrown at nearby chariots but that was it for weapons. The children of Aphrodite were already reclining in their seats, while smiling at the crowd that was there to watch the race. The chariot had two regal horses up front, looking very beautiful but not at all strong or fast.

The Hermes cabin looked ready for war. There were things meant for pulling back water balloons or other objects for launching at other chariots. Many different items meant for distracting others were everywhere on the chariot. The people on it had smirks, ready to cause chaos. The pegasi they had were small and white.

And the last of the other chariots was the Hephestus cabin. In Percy's opinion, it was the scariest one. They had weapons of all sorts on every inch of the thing, with barely any room for the passengers. The chariot was made of metal and looked like it was not built for speed but for destroying. Greek fire was present everywhere and a couple of the weapons looked like they shot greek fire directly.

Somehow, Beck and the others had made the floor huge. Well, compared to other chariots. The metal floor was big enough to fit weapons of all sorts, their contraptions and still have plenty of space for the buff demigods to walk comfortably. The horses too, were made of metal with glowing red sockets where the eyes should be. The children on it just had evil smiles present.

Percy's chariot - actually Tyson's - looked both fast and strong. There was a metal bottom, with wooden sides. Apparently to drop the weight factor, according to Annabeth. It had two automatic crossbows, which meant they could continuously shoot arrows. The arrows also had greek fire on the tips courtesy of Tyson's amazing smithing ability.

Spikes jutted out of the metal wheels, while a metal shield was located behind the wooden wall, big enough to protect them should an object come. Due to Tyson yet again, he was able to use the metal Percy gave and somehow turned it light enough for one person to pull up the wall without much effort. They also had greek fire bottles that could be shot out from the sides, like small bombs. It was pretty limited though.

Tyson had made friends with a black pegasus named Blackjack by giving him the all-tasty sugar cubes. The cyclops had the ability to communicate with horses, due to his powers of a son of Poseiden. He managed to convince Blackjack to help in the chariot race along with another close friend of Blackjacks. This pegasus was apparently named Frank and was considered the second best pegasus in camp, behind Blackjack of course.

The Tyson team was ready for battle.

For one week, most of the camp chariots turned out pretty good.

While Tantalus was walking back and forth in front of all the chariots that were lined up, Percy looked around some more.

A part of camp magically appeared the day after Tantalus told the campers of the chariot race, courtesy of Dionysus. It was basically just a huge race car track, with its big oval shape but there were some twists. Every now and then, it closed into a small road barely wide enough for two side by side chariots. There were many bumps and potholes along the ground also.

Tantalus had told everyone that this was an upgraded track of when they first had chariot races. He also had said that they - Dionysus and Tantalus, along with some people pleading in place of the missing Chiron - didn't want the track to cause the chaos. He wanted the campers to cause chaos.

There were stands that lined about half of the track, also courtesy of Dionysus. This being because there weren't many campers.

Off topic, monsters hadn't attacked since Percy and his friends returned to camp. Everyone had agreed that it was very strange.

As Tantalus stood, Percy noted him raising a white and black checkered flag. "Percy, you ready?"

He turned a little too fast toward Annabeth, making his hair fall over his face, going all the way past his nose. Damn, he needed a haircut. Today Percy had decided to match everyone else- since they were a team and all - and wore the customary orange 'Camp Half-Blood' t-shirt along with some denim jeans instead of his normal white and black clothing. He coughed a little before responding, "Yeah, just slightly worried."

Tyson grabbed both of the demigods shoulders before saying, "No worries, Big Percy and Bethy! We gonna win with us as a team!"

The three smiled, and Percy felt the rush of adrenaline and confidence he usually got when holding his blades. "Yeah, your right my guy." Annabeth quickly agreed by nodding her head.

Percy then turned toward Annabeth again, a pair of scissors in his hands with a little demigod power. "Annabeth, quickly before the race starts, cut my hair."

The daughter of Athena's eyes widened, as Tyson took the reins. Tantalus was in the 'get set' motions.

Annabeth looked left and right, panic on her face before her eyes became determined. She wrenched the scissors from Percy's hand before sloppily cutting his hanging hair short.

No longer did his hair hang over his nose or even over his forehead. No, Annabeth had cut it choppily, with some hair sticking forward, some back and he barely had bangs at all. The top just stuck forward, from half an inch long to even an inch and a half.

Percy grinned as he watched the hair fall from his face. "So, does it look good?"

Annabeth stared, before giving a very shaky smile. In a small voice she said, "It looks splendid."

Tyson turned around to look, before quickly turning back to face the front.

Tyson refuses to lie to Big Percy.

Suddenly, Tantalus brought the flag down, the universal sign for go. Chariots all around flew forward, leaving Percy's group trailing. The roar of the crowd was deafening, with all the hoops and hollers of the demigods.

Looking forward, Tyson was telling the horses to go fast as the chariots were already ahead of them. Already, chaos was starting. The Hermes cabin shot water balloons toward the Apollo cabin but a quick burst of speed from the children of the Sun god made the balloons miss them but one had managed to hit the Dionysus chariot.

To Percy's shock, the twins were smarter than they looked. Instead of water, the balloons seemed to contain an acid specifically for eating metals and woods. This was so the kids themselves wouldn't die if they got some on them.

The Dionysus chariot's side was slowly disintegrating, with the twin children of the Wine god looking scared. The Demeter cabin zoomed past them, making it into third, behind the Ares and Hephestus cabin.

Many of the chariots were shooting at the plant construct but it was weaving and dodging all attacks. The Apollo kids along with others arrows seemed to not be able to penetrate the plants. Percy was mildly impressed.

Then cringed as the Athena cabin caught up and was alongside the Demeter chariot and shot one of its three foot-long ballista. The projectile was shot strategically, as it completely tore off one of their plant wheels. The team cheered as the plant chariot swerved but abruptly stopped when the wheel regrew.

Suddenly, a vine whipped out and snagged one of the Athena kids by the neck before throwing them off of their chariot. Annabeth gasped next to Percy as the kid was rolling along the ground, getting stepped on by some horses and run over by some chariots. It looked very painful.

The Aphrodite tried to avoid hitting him and swerved left, straight into the Apollo cabins chariot.

The two chariots crashed, people flying and injuries made. Tyson drove around them while the audience 'ooh' -ed, but not in joy. It was the painful grimace type 'ooh'.

Well, that took out two cabins.

And based on Dionysus' chariot's floor falling apart, three were about to drop out.

Sure enough the random camper fell through the floor, rolling behind the chariot with Tyson dodging him. Quickly, the purple-having flag chariot fell to ruins, as one of the wheels came loose and crashed. The Dionysus twins managed to not get seriously injured though.

The Poseidon cabin's group was quickly catching up, although still behind all the teams that were still in. Directly ahead was the Athena cabin fighting the Hermes cabin. Arrows were being fired, balloons launched, spears and javelins also being thrown. It was obvious to all watching that the Athena cabin was fighting an uphill battle.

Due to the rushing wind, Annabeth yelled to both Tyson and Percy, "Wait until one of them is taken out then we will finish off the other." Tyson and Percy nodded their heads in understanding.

With only two members, their fighting was not the greatest. Acid was splattered along their chariot along with what seemed to be glue and paint along the children of the Wisdom goddess' bodies. They did manage to get in hits though.

A three foot rod of wood was sticking from the opposing cabins chariot, along with greek fire burning the side. Damaged but not enough to make the Hermes cabin stop.

Finally, the Hermes chariot managed to take out the wheel of the Athena cabin's chariot with a well placed acid balloon. That chariot wiped out, with Tyson avoiding them. Annabeth just looked at it with a worried expression. They were her half-siblings after all.

Then she walked up to the semi-auto greek fire tipped arrow shotter and directed it at the Hermes cabin's chariot. While the twins were celebrating their win over the Athena cabin, they were suddenly under a storm of greek fire. Annabeth had no sympathy in her eyes as the greek fire quickly destroyed that chariot.

Now there were four.

The Poseiden trio could see the Hephestus cabin still in the lead, but not by too much. The Ares cabin was almost right behind them, with Clarisse yelling to go faster. Percy could see Beckendorf briefly turn around before tossing a couple jars of greek fire over his shoulder. The Ares cabin was swerving in an attempt to avoid the fire bombs.

Annabeth shouted into Percy and Tyson's ears. "Tyson, get alongside the Demeter chariot. We will use the side shooters to launch bottles at them. Percy, use the auto crossbow." With an evil smirk and a dark glint in her devious grey eyes, she finished. "We will win this and some fast plant chariot will not stand in our way."

The two boys did not argue and did as they were told. Percy was shooting at a rapid pace, arrows all tipped with the green fire. Annabeth was throwing bottles of greek fire, along with shooting them through the side shooters.

Annabeth's plan seemed to be working well but not well enough. The greek fire was destroying the chariot, burning it all but the Demeter children seemed strong, as the thing continued to regrow. At one point, the entire roof was gone and you could clearly see the faces of the children. The shock. The fear.

Percy knew his body wanted blood, because the small voice that chanted 'spill blood, bathe in guts' had gone away.

Instead, it was a roar in his head that was nearly forcing Percy into his fatal flaw state. The fear he saw made his body shake in anticipation.

As the plant chariot struggled to regenerate, Tyson decided to let Blackjack do his thing and went to communicate with the other pegasi.

'Hello, my valiant steeds. How are you two today?'

The winged horses almost seemed to smile, with their lips curled back, revealing twin rows of huge teeth.

'Ah, the son of our great master. We are well master. How may we be of service?'

'May you do me a big favor?'

'Anything for you master.'

'Throw off the reins that hold you and be free. Fly and relinquish the hold these demigods have on you.'

Neither of the pegasi bothered to give a response other than head nod before jumping and twisting. The effect was immediate, with the burning chariot beginning to sway and eventually start tipping over.

As the chariot began to fall, the flying horses neighed out for their master to save them as the burning construct was falling on them. Percy spoke every human language. Don't know if you could tell but those pegasi aren't human. Even so, when he saw the horses trapped as they were, still confined to the ropes they were bound in, he immediately jumped into more action.

Conjuring his bow, Percy took a deep breath and automatically pulled back two pure white arrows before he stared at the horses. More specifically, the reins. Staring for a second that seemed to last an eternity, his grip slowly loosened as his breath started to leave.

As he released his arrows, the pure white tips slowly started turning black. First the pointy tip, then traveling to encompass the entire barb. Next the shafts began turning black, almost as if a virus was spreading across until the main part was totally black. Lastly the white duck feathers started changing, transforming to that of the ugly duck but with an entirely too dark black look to them.

There was a loud whistling noise that was heard before the pegasi were suddenly free and flying.

The trio faced each other and began high-fiving. Annabeth had this look about her - with the wind making her hair fly and face tinted a slight pink from the excitement - that had Percy's heart swelling.

At thirteen, the unclaimed demigod had only just become attracted to women and there was a very attractive woman in front of him. HIs cheeks then slowly began turning red from the very inappropriate thoughts his mind was concocting.

Annabeth noticed his face, and took it as being uncomfortable. "Percy? Are you alright. Well, as all right as you can be while we are about to go destroy two chariots."

Percy's cheeks just turned redder before turning away. "It's nothing."

Annabeth tilted her head to the side in confusion before Tyson cut in. "Blackjack said we are almost there."

Sure enough, their chariot was behind the two remaining chariots. It seemed they had been fighting for quite some time, because the Hephaestus chariot was riddled with holes and different weapons lining their side. There were some burnt spots along with small green flames here and there but also some pieces of their chariot missing completely, seemingly having been melted away.

The Ares chariot had taken damage too though. One of the children lay on the floor with a crossbow bolt sticking from his shoulder while another was unconscious at Clarisse's feet. The side of the chariot was completely gone and it was a miracle it hadn't fallen apart yet. Clarisse continued hurling weapons that seemingly appeared from nowhere at the enemy chariot while screaming.

Annabeth caught the attention of her two teammates. "Ok, same play we pulled on the Hermes and Athena chariot fight. We will wait until one of the chariots falls apart before finishing off the last one."

Percy rubbed his hair, a small habit he had picked up when in San Francisco. "Well, remember. We need to actually pass the finish line first and we are coming toward it pretty fast so…"

Annabeth sighed and giggled at the same time. It was a weird noise to say the least. Percy stared ather, hand still rubbing his short hair. Normally with his long hair he could pull and it relaxed him but now it was hard to even grip. "Is something funny?"

Tyson called out, "Hey guys -"

Percy interrupted him and gripped Annabeth by the arms as she continued to giggle. "Annabeth. What's. So. Funny."

Said girl just blew up into laughter before letting out in rapid breaths, "I can't take it anymore. Conjure a mirror and look at your hair."

With weariness, Percy did as was told. And gasped. "I look hideous! I told you to cut it, but now I look so freakishly stupid!"

Tyson called out again, "Hey guys -"

Annabeth drowned him out with her loud guffaws that made even Percy crack a smile. Suddenly Tyson shouted, which was strange due to his kind personality. "Guys! We are about to go through the tunnel and the Hephaests chariot is falling behind the Ares! They will be right next to us!"

This knocked some sense into the other two, as two walls of dirt were on either side of them. Blackjack and his companion picked up speed as the Ares cabin pulled into the lead. After a couple of seconds, they were alongside the Hephaestus chariot and boy were they not happy.

Due to the close proximity, the spikes on the Poseidon chariot made contact with the wheels of the Hephaestus chariot. Instead of damaging the enemy's chariot, the spike broke off completely.

Not even offering small banter Beckendorf along with his siblings began firing bottles of greek fire, crossbows bolts along with weapons of all sorts. Percy stood and watched all of it come, almost as if in slow motion. Annabeth looked frightened, just staring at the projectiles. With determination set on his face, he let the beast go. His eyes then began gradually changing color, from purple to his red.

Before they could become the blood red Percy's body craved, he was shocked as Tyson ducked and threw up the shield effectively blocking all projectiles and snapping Percy out of his slight haze. His monster returned to its cage.

The crowd was shouting in excitement. How the Tartarus could they see the happenings in here? A quick glance up showed a floating image of the stands.

Iris message, duh.

The trio ducked down to the lowest part of the barrier before the two males turned and faced Annabeth expectantly. Her blond hair blew in the wind as she looked surprised at the boys. "What?"

Percy's eyebrows had a crinkle in the middle as he stated, "Annabeth. Plan. Now."

The daughter of Athena didn't even argue as she began talking. "Tyson, how long will this hold?" She tapped the barrier above them to indicate what she was talking about.

Tyson rubbed his chin in thought. "Hmm, I'm guessing thirty seconds, a minute at most."

She just nodded before asking, "Can you talk to their horses? Make them swerve like the Demeter pegasi?"

The son of Poseiden shook his head no. "These are metal. The others were alive."

Annabeth nodded her head, as if in confirmation. She then stared at the ground in thought, before looking up at Percy, eyes wide. "Percy -"

Before anything could be said, the barrier broke, or more like melted from the greek fire. Weapons of all sorts started flying at them, somehow all missing. Annabeth turned to call out to the bi-colored haired boy, "Percy -"

The thirteen year old didn't listen to what the blond girl was about to say. His mind had already concocted a plan and it was just crazy enough that it should work.

Emphasise on should.

He turned to look at Annabeth before softly smiling, almost apologetically as he stood up. The daughter of Athena seemed to catch on as she called out once more, "Percy, no!"

Too late. Percy thought. He had stood tall and was about to jump before a spear tore straight into his stomach. Percy looked up to see a slightly apologetic Beck, before looking down and coughing up blood. He could vaguely hear Annabeth's scream and Tyson's roar of fury.

Looking up and down once more, he gripped the shaft from the back and pulled it straight through his stomach. His teammates screamed some more while the Hephaestus kids had stopped their assault. The crowd all screamed, weather in crazed excitement or fear, Percy didn't care.

Percy stared at the bottom of the moving Posiedon chariot before putting some power into the wound, it began quickly speeding up his regeneration as his skin turned an even paler white than it already was. Once it had healed, he continued his stare at the floor before spitting blood from his mouth.

Do you need me? I can and will take over now.

Percy didn't bother resisting..

The son of Hephaestus gulped as Percy stared straight into his eyes.

It was at this moment that he knew, he fucked up.

Furious blood red eyes stared hungrily at him with white skin. Beckendorf knew of Percy's flaw state, he had seen it before just as most people had. The creepiest part of this new state was that his eyes were different.

No longer did the black pupil remain in his eyes. Instead, they were just solid blocks of blood red orbs. His skin seemed to turn darker almost as if a shadow was lurking below under it. His choppy cut hair turned more black than white.

The unclaimed demigod's tongue poked out of his mouth as he licked and bit his lips in anticipation. With a sinister voice he cackled out, "I haven't had the chance to come out in quite some time, so I will not be holding back."

Beck then swore he heard - even over the roar of the wind - him mutter a small, "Percy wants this too."

The strange demigod's teammates stared, stupefied. Sure the spear had looked painful, but to cause his fatal flaw to come out?

They were now about halfway through the tunnel.

The floor suddenly cracked under Percy's feet as he shot off of the chariot toward the offending party. The Hephaestus children started throwing weapon after weapon, shooting arrows and directly shooting greek fire like a flamethrower straight at him.

It seemed Percy was very agile in this state, because he somehow managed to dodge all of the attacks - yes, even the greek fire - mid-air. Once he landed he wasted no time for niceties. Reaching down, he picked up one of the many weapons littering the ground before standing straight.

He no longer had his white and black hair long so everyone could easily see the glowing pupiless pure blood red orbs. They could see the crazed look that was accentuated by his short chopped hair and the fear he automatically put into everyone.

Then he dropped his weapon and hunched over in pain while holding his head.

"Why!? I thought you wanted this! They are in the way, so I'm here to take them out."

The children of the forge god just stared as Percy continued talking to himself.

"But I want to use a sword!" He then stomped his foot like a petulant child. "You won't let me use yours...no no no. I want to stay out. Please?" He then huffed in annoyance, "Fine."

Blood red eyed Percy looked up to Beckendorf and his sibling before saying, "I'm not allowed to use weapons, so bare fists it is." He then crouched in preparation as the other three demigods raised their weapons in anticipation.

Before Percy jumped, Beck whispered, "You're not really Percy, are you?"

Percy just showed all his teeth in an insane smile that only drew attention to his crazy eyes before leaping forward.

He was in front of all three. One of them thrust his sword forward attempting to run Percy through. The unclaimed demigod sidestepped before hitting the outstretched arm hard enough to make the sword fly out of the offending demigods grip. Then as another tried doing the same thing only with a spear, Percy turned and just stood still, smiling.

The spear then ran him through.

And Percy only continued to smile. The demigod in front of him stared in shock as Percy reached down and continued to push the spear into him. Thing was, there happened to be a shocked son of Hephaestus behind him so as the spear continued its path ran him through as well.

The shriek was loud and clear. Most people from the stands grimaced while some screamed and others threw up the contents from that morning's breakfast.

All of this had happened within five seconds.

Once the spear had completed its path, Percy's stomach immediately began fixing itself with its master just smiling the whole time. The spear kid stared before raising his fists due to his lack of weapon. Percy just ruffled his short hair and smiled.

Then he raised his leg and Sparta kicked the spear kid in the face hard enough to make him fly not only off of the chariot but also through the dirt walls surrounding them. He turned around again to see the teenager crying in pain on the floor with the spear in his gut.

Percy crouched in front of him, with a small smile on his face before pulling the spear out of him. Another shriek was elicited from the hurt demigod before slowly turning into whimpers. The crazed demigod then leaned toward him before shoving his hand into the wound.

At this point the demigod had passed out in pain while Percy carefully pulled out his hand. Standing to his feet hand cupped while the other holding the bloody spear, he turned and faced a frozen Beckendorf. He then raised his weapon free hand above his head.

Crazy Percy smiled that insane smile of his before tilting his head up and uncupping his hand. Blood slowly fell down onto his face making it look like he had been crying the red fluid. A loud moan was heard coming from him that reverberated even to the stands.

"Oh how I do so love blood. It's fantastic. The smell, the feel…" He then tilted his head down while lowering his hand. Blood red eyes stared into Beck's shocked orbs. Percy then finished with a whisper, "The taste."

Beck along with everyone watched with horror as Percy raised the bloody spear to his mouth before his tongue came out and licked a long trail along the spear head. Another moan was heard, this time louder.

"Oh how the taste of blood gets me going." He then threw the spear off the side of the speeding chariot with a small pout on his face. "Unfortunately, Percy doesn't feel the same way about it." Then he looked down to the passed out demigod on the floor. "What? Not even going to help your comrades? Pathetic Beckendorf."

Said demigod didn't do anything but just stare. Percy winked at him before proceeding to lick the remaining blood from his hand.

Beckendorf whispered in terror, "What's wrong with you?"

Percy smiled. "Not much actually. I just love blood and don't really care how I get it. But my own blood doesn't really taste all that good." He said that while tapping his now blood clean hand onto his chin. "Oh! And don't get me started about the insides of a person. Those things make my own blood sing with joy. Just the thought of it…" He finished it off with another even louder moan.

Then a screaming Annabeth was barely heard over the rushing wind. "Percy, tunnel!"

The demigod faced her, eyes now soft. "What was that, princess?"

The blond girl's face turned a small shade of red. "We are nearing the end of the tunnel and Clarisse is nearly at the finish line! Hurry up!"

Percy gave a thumbs up before turning back to the dark skinned man. "You heard the lady." He then sighed with another smile on his face, but this one reflected his soft red eyes. "Whatever my lady commands, I must do."

Looking Beck straight in the eyes he said, "Percy is giving you an option. One: stop the chariot and take your sibling to the infirmary or two." His eyes now glowed. "Fight and get very hurt. Personally I prefer option two." In all honesty, crazy Percy was just about as his limit. He hadn't come out in a very long time and it was about time for the monster to go back into his cage.

Please pick one, please pick one.

Beckendorf took half a second before saying, "Go back to your chariot. I'm going to take Kyle to the Apollo kids."

The son of Hephaestus rushed toward the injured demigod while seemingly trying to bandage the wound.

Percy bent next to the kneeling Beck before saying in a hushed guilty tone "I am sorry for everything I have done. Truly, I am."

The son of Hephaestus let out a clipped, "I thought I told you to leave." He then turned to look at Percy and stared.

Percy had a steady stream of blood leaking from his mouth but a soft smile on his bloody face. More importantly, his eyes were once more purple. The choppy hair was now evenly proportions of the black and white and the crazed look on his face was gone. "I seriously am sorry." With that, he stood and jumped into his awaiting chariot just as the tunnel ended.

The unclaimed demigod wiped his bloody pale face before turning around and seeing Hephaestus chariot slowly stopping before Apollo kids ran to them. Man he had gone a little too far. Percy then faced a red faced Annabeth and a scared cyclops.

"What was with that, Percy? Why did you do that?"

Said demigod just smiled, before coughing blood onto her face. "I don't know."

He then felt his muscles begin to fail him, as he let out a ragged breath and fell to his knees. Managing to look over the side of their chariot, he could see the Ares chariot at least two hundred yards ahead of them and very close to the finish line. Percy could pick out with his keen eyesight the people that were all surrounding it with banners and flags along with very serious medics.

Percy sank back onto the floor supported into a sitting position only by sheer will. He looked up into the worried eye of Tyson.

"Big Percy, you ok?"

The demigod just nodded no. He then faced a scared Annabeth.

"Percy, your fine right? Just use your regeneration powers or something. C'mon Percy!"

He just nodded no once more with a happy smile on his face. "Do you see my skin? It's actually white. That is never good. I will probably pass out any second from the injuries. This has not happened in a long time…"

His gaze followed Annabeth's as she sank to the floor in front of him. He vaguely noticed Tyson stop the chariot as the demigod paramedics came running toward the chariot.

All he really was paying attention to was the worried girl in front of him. Her hair was a mess, fists were clenched and face slightly red. Percy gave a soft smile as he stared. "Don't worry Annabeth. With some sleep I'll be -" He was promptly cut off when the blonde threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around him.

Percy blushed at this and with his white skin he easily resembled a tomato. "A-a-Annabeth!"

Percy's heart beat fast as her body was right against his own. He hadn't received a hug in a long time and it felt amazing. Leaning forward, he reciprocated her gesture and hugged her tightly. His face rested in the crook of her neck as he took long and labored breaths.

They just sat in each other's arms for what felt like forever but could not have been very long. Then, she whispered so soft that it made Percy's ears strain to listen. "I hate seeing you get hurt because it makes me hurt. Please don't do this to me. Now sleep." One last thought passed through Percy's exhausted mind.

Your wish is my command.

So, how was it? I kinda liked this chapter. New stuff was introduced. This stuff being pretty important not that you can really tell at this point of the story. Originally they would be starting the quest but I dragged it, but it's fine. Let me know in a review, because I honestly enjoy those things tons.

Thank you once more Calamity Xx for beta-ing.
