Jaune and Courage the Cowardly Dog

Chapter 6: The Revenge of the Chicken from Outer Space

'AAAAHHHHH!' The sound of Courage yelling woke me up with a jolt. Quickly looking around, I remembered that I was in my room safe for the moment. Reaching for my scroll on the nightstand, yes, I got a new one a while back, and checked the time. Seeing that it was about three in the morning, I was about to go back to sleep but was stopped when I heard an 'oof' followed by a door slamming shut.

'Eustace must have kicked Courage out of the room.' I thought as I stood up from my bed and stretched a bit. Yes, despite having his anti-melting gene being taken and melting into a puddle of water, he somehow became his old self again. As in, not being a puddle of water. 'Might as well and give Courage some company and tell him he can sleep with me tonight.'

Putting on some pants and a loose t-shirt, I went to the door, exited my room and went downstairs. Entering the kitchen, I saw Courage grab a glass before filing it with water and drinking it all in one go. Walking up to him, I gave him a small pat on the head which he smiled at.

"Hey Courage. You all, right?" I asked. He nodded before putting the glass in the sink. "Want to sleep in my room tonight?"

'Sure.' He answered.

We turned around and began to walk towards the kitchen door to my room but stopped when we heard a strange humming coming from somewhere. Turning to where it was coming from, we saw a strange light come from the window in the door that leads to outside. Opening it, we looked outside and saw a light shining down onto the ground about fifteen feet away from us. The light almost looked like a spotlight on dance floor. But where is this light coming from is the question.

'Huh?' Courage asked confused. Looking around, I saw nothing but the vastness of sand I have grown accustomed to. That is, until I looked up and saw a giant spaceship in the sky.

'Hell! Aliens! This can be very bad.' I thought worried. While we have faced some dangerous threats before, but aliens are another story all together. Who knows what could be on that ship and what kind of technological weapons they could have? My fear only grew bugger when a platform started to come down from the ship. Courage started to whimper at this in fright. Only for both of us to be completely dumbfounded when we saw that instead of an alien on the platform, it was a roasted chicken that quite honestly, looked ready to eat.

"What the? A cooked chicken? That's not what I expected at all courage." I said confused.

'Uh-huh.' Courage agreed equally as confused. I was about to walk up to it to inspect it but got surprise when the chicken sat up by itself. Courage gasped with his eyes going extremely big again. The chicken then pulled out a plunger of all things before making a slit throat gesture.

'What the? A plunger? What the hell it's gonna with that?' I thought as I slammed the door.

But before could think further on that, my attention was drawn to a car horn the seemingly came from Courage. Looking towards him, I saw that he had gotten scared again and his head became ten times larger again. But instead of a normal scream, he now screamed like a car horn. Soon as he stopped a moment later, he went to the door and locked the four locks that were not there a moment ago. Still thinking that it wasn't enough, I grabbed a chair and placed it against the door.

"Courage? Jaune?" The voice of Muriel asked as she entered the kitchen. "What are you two doing?"

Courage went up to her and tried to warn her about what we saw. He then turned into a menacing spaceship, then giant polka dot space eggs and finally a weird chicken with what I can assume is a space laser of some kind. After he finished, he whimpered and hoped that Muriel would understand what he said. And for a slight moment, it seemed that she did. Only for that to go right out the window by what she said next.

"That's it. No more liver for you two." She told us. I was confused for a moment, but then immediately concerned when she went over to the door and opened it. She then stepped out and looked around. Not trusting what this is one bit, I immediately ran to her side in case anything happened.

"Well, I don't see anything you two." She said as she looked around. Curious, I looked around and to the sky and saw nothing. No trace, no prints, nothing. Like there wasn't anything here to begin with.

"We could have sworn we saw something." I said as I continued to look around before turning to her. "Come on Muriel. Let's head inside, I don't think it's safe right now."

"Nonsense Jaune. There's nothing here so there's nothing to worry about." She said with a smile in an attempt to try and calm me. Only for it not to work for as soon as she said that, she got hit with a plunger in her rear. Instinctively, I grabbed onto her hands and just in time as the plunger began to pull her away.

'Oh, no you don't. Whatever you are, you're not taking her.' I thought as I struggled to keep my grip on her hands. But it felt like I was in a tug of war against both Nora and a pissed off Yang. I soon felt my hands begin to slip a bit making my panic.

"Courage, Help me!" I shouted. He quickly got by myside and helped me. But it proved fruitless as I lost my grip and whatever sent the plunger pulled Muriel away towards the nearby barn and silo. Leaving her slipper as the only thing remaining as it fell when she was pulled away

"AAH! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN! OH, YOU—YOU THING, YOU!" She screamed as she was pulled away.

'MURIEL' Courage gasped as he picked up her slipper. Looking towards the barn, we saw it lit up with a pink light.

"AHH! COURAGE! JAUNE! HELP" We faintly heard Muriel scream from the barn. "OH, YOU FILTHY, DIRTY THING YOU!

"Come on Courage! We have to help her!" I told him. He quickly nodded and we ran to the barn. The light was so bright that it nearly blinded me. Getting to the barn. We stood next to the door and peeked inside. Only to gasp, as inside was the spaceship from earlier. But also, in irritation as Eustace and I would have to fix it tomorrow and that's going to be a pain.

"WOULDN'T YOU PREFER TEA INSTEAD!" Muriel's scream brought my attention back to where it was supposed to be. And that was saving Muriel. Seeing that the door to the ship was open, we decided to enter it and see if we can get Muriel and get out without much trouble. Unfortunately, as soon as we stepped inside, we saw the roasted chicken waiting inside for us.

'Huh?' Courage asked confused at we saw. The chicken held a pointing stick and stood next to a screed used for projectors.

"Who and what the hell are you and what do you want?" I demanded the chicken which left me feeling really weird. I know that people would have a hard time believing the stuff I have previously faced but this, facing against a roasted chicken will be the hardest to believe.

Instead of answering, the chicken 'turned' its head to the screen where it began to show a slideshow of images. The first image showed Courage with a plunger on his head with the next one having his head pop of like a toy. Then it showed the chicken using Courage's head as his own. Turning to Courage, I saw him pull out a sign with a question mark to show his confusion. Or ask who the chicken is. Most likely the later as the next set of images showed Courage fighting against the chicken for control of a gun before firing it at him turning the chicken into his current state. Turning back to Courage, he seemed either guilty for what he did or still confused. Hearing a snap sound, I turned back and saw the chicken demanded that Courage sit on the chair so he can remove his head.

"Not going to happen." I said as I stepped in front of Courage. In the back of my mind, I felt that if Yang was here, she would be making a ton of puns. Which made me kind of envious that the chicken did not have ears so he did not have to suffer from her puns.

The chicken did like this answer and threw the pointer down on the floor in frustration. He then turned to the screen and raised it up to show a tied-up Muriel behind it with a plunger on her head. The message clear that if he did not get Courage than he would take Muriel's head off.

"COURAGE! JAUNE! GET HELP!" Muriel screamed. Hearing a lever being pulled, we looked to the side and saw the chicken had pulled a lever to start the process of pulling Muriel's head off.

'AAHHH!' Courage screamed before running out of the ship. Not wanting to risk Muriel's safety even further and possibly piss off an outer space chicken and risk getting shot, I followed Courage out of the ship. Once outside, I quickly looked around and saw something unexpected. A power cord connected to an outlet that was not there beforehand. Nor went anywhere as we were in a barn. Not questioning the logic behind it, I quickly went over to it and pulled it out. The result was the entire ship powering down.

'What do we do? What do we do?' Courage frantically asked running up to me.

"Go get Eustace Courage. We're going to need his help. I'll run up to my room and grab my sword and shield and then we can save Muriel." I answered.

He nodded frantically before running to the house to get Eustace. Meanwhile, I ran up to my room. Opening the door, I quickly went to my bed and pulled out my new sword and shield from under it. Giving it a few swings, I quickly sheathed the sword before exiting the room. Hearing a few loud smacks that can only come from someone hitting another with a slipper, I quickly raced down to see Courage running away with Eustace chasing him.

'Well, that's one way to get someone to follow you.' I thought as I quickly raced after them back to the barn.

"I'll strangle you." Eustace said as he chased him up the ramp into the ship. Completely unaware of the fact that there is a spaceship in the barn. Getting to the top of the ramp, Courage was about to try and warn Eustace but quickly ducked when he lunged at him.

"That's one way to get him on the ship. Good job Courage," I said as I made it up the ramp. Taking out my sword, we went inside and saw that the chicken was now confronting Eustace who was rubbing his head from hitting it against wall.

"OH! OH!" Muriel screamed catching out attention. The chicken had apparently put the cord back in and started the process of taking Muriel's head off.

"Courage. Go get Muriel. I'll cut the power." I told him while jumping off the ramp. Courage nodded and went inside to get Muriel. Going around the ship, I found the power cord again. Knowing that he can just plug it back in, I decided to cut it so he would permanently lose power. Taking a deep breath in, I swung my sword at the cord, cutting it but also getting one hell of a shock. Comparable to that of Nora when she used to shock me as pranks. "Ow!"

"Hey, what are you going to do with that?" I heard Eustace ask from inside the ship. Quickly going around and up the ramp, I saw Courage run out with Muriel. Though, she seemed dazed and completely out of it.

"Good job Courage. Now we just need- oof!" I said as I was about to enter the ship only to be stopped when the door suddenly closed from the lack of power which caused me to smack into it. "-get Eustace. Alright, I'll try to open it."

Putting my sword into the bottom of the door, I tried to use it as a make shift lever to open the door. But to no avail. Feeling Courage tap on my shoulder, I saw him gesture me to move to the side. Curious, I removed my sword and stepped to the side to see what he what he was going to do. He then pulled a giant welding set and mask and tried to cut open a door. But when he was almost done, the door opened by itself as power seemed to come back. Once the door fully opened, Eustace head popped from the side. Both me and Courage sighed in relief at seeing him but it was quickly replaced with shock when it turned out the chicken had successfully taken off Eustace's head and is now using it as his own.

"That is disturbing and creepy." I said as I tried not to laugh at how ridiculous he looked.

The chicken growled at this, but Courage had the best answer to this. He turned bac on the welding and fried the ass of the chicken. Upon seeing this, I could not help but laugh out loud. Even louder when I saw that the chicken landed in a barrel of water and was relishing in cooling his fried behind off. Hearing the chicken get out of the barrel, I pushed Courage who was now carrying Muriel into the ship. Looking around, I saw a hatch near the top of the ship which we can use to get out of here and avoid the chicken. While I am sure I can take it out, I don't want to run the risk of him using another space gun on me or risk Muriel's safety. Getting to the top, I opened the hatch and helped Muriel and Courage onto the top of the ship. Seeing a nearby window, I picked up Muriel and carried her to the window with Courage right behind me. He opened the window and we climbed onto the roof where I realize I just trapped ourselves,

"Crap. Where do we go now?" I asked myself as I looked around. Luckily, Courage spotted a way out. A really long clothes line that led back to the house. 'Great.'

Taking a breath, I began to walk on the clothes line back to the house. All the while carrying Muriel and genuinely surprising myself at the fact that I had not fallen off it yet and suffered a painful fall. Hearing Courage scream, I turned around and saw that the chicken had quickly caught up and was now on the clothes line chasing us causing to quicken our pace.

"Oh, what a terrible dream. I think I'll have a cup of tea." Muriel said waking up.

'The things I do for love.' Courage said as he poured some tea in a cup and gave it to Muriel.

"Oh, lovely." Muriel said as she started to drink it.

As I continued quickly crossing the clothes line, I noticed that Muriel's slipper had fallen off and landed on the rope perfectly. Unfortunately, I noticed it toon later which caused me to lose my balance and fall. My instincts kicked in I quickly grabbed onto the line so as to not fall to the ground. However, this caused Muriel to bounce on the clothes line and be sent flying away from us and somehow stayed on the line and sat down like nothing.

"It's awfully windy tonight." She said as she fixed her hair before taking another sip from her tea.

'Hold on Muriel. Here we come.' Courage yelled out as he helped me back onto the line.

Once back on, I quickly ran as fast as I could while trying to keep my balance to reach Muriel. As I closed the distance, I noticed that Muriel was started to fall back off the line as she took a big sip from her tea.

'Crap!' I thought as I saw that. I quickly dived for her and managed to grab onto her night gown and stopped her from falling to the ground. But that left me hanging onto the rope only by one hand. Looking up, I saw that the chicken had caught up to us and started to stomp on my hand.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!" I grunted in pain as he continued to stomp on my hand. Feeling a tug on my pants, I looked down at Courage and noticed that we were now on the ground. An idea came to my head when I noticed this. Looking back up, I saw that the chicken had noticed as well that we were on the ground. Smirking, I let go of the clothes line which caused the chicken to go flying away from us went through the roof of the barn. All the while, I waved goodbye at him as he flew.

'Yay!' Courage shouted in joy while Muriel started to shake her tea cup to see if there was anything left in it. Seems like she was still in a daze.

"Nice. Hi-five." I said as I hive fived Courage. But our celebration was cut short when we heard the sounds of engines turning on. Looking at the barn, we saw that the pink lights were coming again for a moment before the barn was destroyed as the space ship powered up and took to the sky.

"AAAHHHH!" All three of us screamed as the ship flew above us. And from the bottom of it, a giant mechanical arm came out with a giant plunger as well.

Feeling myself get picked up, I looked down and saw that Courage had somehow pulled out a wheel barrel and placed Muriel in it already before placing me in it as well. He then pushed us at incredible speeds that would make Ruby envious but it was only just enough as we barely avoided getting crushed by the plunger. Persistent, the chicken kept chasing us while trying to flatten us. Courage managed to outrun a few attempts but the last one came right behind us which sent us flying away. We landed on a raft in the middle of a river. Seeing two oars, Courage and I grabbed them and quickly rowed down the river as fast as we can. Somehow, ignoring the fact that we were no longer in a desert and now in a river. We kept going for a few minutes but the plunger caught up to us quickly and destroyed the raft sending us flying again. This time, we saw a motorcycle near us. Placing Muriel into the passenger car, we got on with Courage turning on the motorcycle and driving it away.

'He can drive as well! Okay, once this over, he needs to teach me to drive a motorcycle. Wonder how Yang will react is she loses a motorcycle race to Courage?' I thought as we drove down the desert road again.

It seemed like we were finally going to get away from the chicken as his ship struggled to keep up. However, fate seemed cruel today as a while into the driving, Muriel's' slipper slipped off and was caught by the tire causing it to be stop suddenly. This caused us to spin off uncontrollably and send us crashing. Quiet painfully I might add.

"Damn it." I grunted as I picked myself up while Courage shook himself off.

'Muriel?' Courage asked concerned as we looked around. We quickly spotted her sitting on one of the tires of the motorcycle.

"Fancy some tea Courage? Jaune?" She asked as she poured herself a fresh cup she got from somewhere. However, our attention was grabbed by the sign that was right above her.

"ROCKET BASE?!" I shouted in shock. Looking underneath, I saw that we were standing right above the silo where the missile or rocket in this case would be kept.

'Oh, no!' Courage gasped as he realized this as well.

"Wait Courage. This could help us." I told him. He seemed puzzled at this so I quickly explained. "We could use his plunger to open this and have the rocket fly up and hit his ship causing it to be destroyed."

'That's a long shot. But I'll do it.' Courage said agreeing to the plan. Hearing the ship getting closer, I decided to reassure him before it reaches us.

"Don't' worry Courage. I'm by your side." I told him which caused him to smile a bit.

Looking back up, we saw that the Chicken had finally reached us. A moment later, the plunger came crashing down upon us. But we managed to quickly dove to the side and avoid it entirely. The plunger crashed into where we just were and as the plunger moved back, it had unintentionally taken the cover of the silo with it. Right after it did, the sound of alarms started blasting all around us as the missile left its silo and went straight to the space ship causing it to get destroyed as a result of the explosion.

"Lovely fireworks, eh, Courage? Don't you agree as well Jaune?" Muriel asked from behind me. Turning around, I saw that Courage had joined her on the tire and watched as the ship got destroyed.

"Yeah, they are." I agreed as she did not need to fully know or remember what happened.

Half an hour later

We were sitting on the porch of the house. Just enjoying some the company and the night air. I would have gone back to sleep normally, but after this whole incident, I am just too awake to even try and go to sleep. Taking a sip of the tea I made, I turned to Courage who was laying down on Muriel's lap and asked him something.

"Hey Courage?" I asked.

'Yeah.' He answered turning to me.

"Think you can teach me to drive a motorcycle?" I asked.

'Sure, why not? Just need a motorcycle and we can begin.' He answered with a smile. I was about to take another sip of my tea when Muriel pointed out to the distance.

"Oh. There's Eustace with my slipper!" She said happily.

'Wait. Wasn't Eustace on the ship and didn't the chicken take his head.' I thought confused and concerned. Looking towards where she was pointing at, we saw the body of Eustace walking towards us without a head and holding Muriel's slipper.

'AAAAAHHHHH' Courage screamed once he spotted Eustace as well before adding. 'This still shouldn't happen to a dog.'

'Or anyone.' I mentally agreed with Courage as I tried to come up with a way to deal with this.

Note:

Seems like it might be Team Npr, specifically Nora and Ren who will appear in King Ramsses's Curse. Though that could still change. This chapter will come out after the next chapter.

An interesting idea came up in the reviews, Should Professor Port be part of the story? As in he was at one point from Nowhere or has relatives from Nowhere. And should the red mustached guy from the episode be a relative to him?

Next Chapter will be Shirley the Medium.
