Sometime has passed since the two Okazaki spent that day together, and Tomoya felt that it was finally time to go through with the promise he made to Ushio last year, back when her unknown illness had made her sick. With preparations made ahead of time, it was time to let Ushio know that the two of them were finally going to go on a trip back to the field of flowers.

"Good morning Daddy." Ushio yawns as she gets out of her futon with Tomoya preparing breakfast for both of them.

"Good morning Ushio. Did you sleep well last night?" Tomoya replies, with a warm smile.

"Yeah." Ushio nods as she gives her answer to her father.

"Hey, Shio, you remember that promise I made to you last year?" Tomoya asks, with the groggy young girl nodding as she answers.

"Yeah, you said we would go on a trip when I got better." Ushio answers, letting out another yawn, as she rubs one of her eyes, trying to wake up still.

"Well, I made some preparations ahead of time with my work, and we're finally able to go on that trip!" Tomoya grins, as Ushio goes wide eyed, the girl excitedly jumping in place before running up to Tomoya, and embracing him in a hug.

"You mean it?! Thank you Daddy, you're the best!" Ushio exclaims, a big smile on her face.

"So Shio, you ready to have fun on our trip?" Tomoya asks the girl, who pumps her right hand up into the air as she gives her answer.

"Yup!" Ushio exclaims, still wearing a big smile. Once the two got on the train, the father, and daughter enjoyed passing the time, talking, reading, and playing games together.

"And that was my first time meeting Akki (Akio), and Sanae." Tomoya finishes his story with Ushio.

"Aki's so silly!" the girl giggles. "He really tried to change your name Daddy?" she asks, smiling.

"Yeah, he actually tried." Tomoya confirms, chuckling at the memory. "I have to admit though, he kinda scared me at first, cause, like I said, he heard me say that Sanae's bread wasn't tasty." he admits.

"She hasn't gotten any better?" Ushio asks

"Afraid not. I'm guessing at some point, Sanae offered you her bread?" Tomoya asks, with the face Ushio makes, all he needs to know for an answer from the girl. It took all Tomoya had to will himself not to lose his composure at the cute face his daughter was making. "I'll take that as a 'yes'." he says stifling a laugh.

"Thank you for this Daddy." Ushio smiles at her father, pulling at his heart strings as he smiles back at Ushio. "I'm really happy we're doing this."

"You're welcome Ushio." Tomoya smiles before continuing, "Your daddy is a man of his word after all." he adds. Eventually, Ushio falls asleep, while sitting next to Tomoya, leaning on her father, as she smiles in her sleep, while the two wait to reach their destination. "Wow, she's really out, looks like all her excitement really tired her out." Tomoya thought, smiling, "Sweet dreams Shio, Daddy will be right here with you when you wake up." he says to the young girl quietly as to not wake her up, giving Ushio a kiss goodnight. Hours later, the train has almost reached its destination when Ushio begins to stir in her sleep, with the young girl waking up, stretching her arms and legs to help wake her up. When the girl looks out the window, she sees that the sun has begun to set, smiling as she admires how pretty the sky was.

"Wooow! So pretty!" an almost giddy Ushio grins, her eyes sparkling in the light of the sunset. Tomoya, smiling from how happy Ushio has been all day, and is so glad he was able to do this for his little girl (especially given the fact that Ushio had nearly died back when she was sick), Tomoya wanted nothing more than to protect his little girl's precious smile.

"Huh, I guess the old man, and Nagisa were right back then, I did become a doting parent after all." Tomoya thought, chuckling to himself upon this realization. A few minutes later, and the train reaches its destination, and the two Okazaki exit the train and head for the inn they were going to stay at for the night. When night finally came, Ushio was admiring the fireflies flying around outside, the green balls of light lighting up the night. The young girl, entranced by the sight, couldn't help but continue to silently watch, the girl not wanting to make any sudden movements or sounds, as if suddenly doing anything would scare away all the fireflies that were outside.

"This place is so nice, I'm really happy Daddy kept his promise!" Ushio thought, letting out a giggle.

"Quite a beautiful sight, isn't it?" Tomoya asks, with his daughter agreeing with him, letting out 'yeah' as she nods her head. "I think its safe to say that you love it here too, am I right Shio?" he asks, with the girl confirming that he was right.

"Yeah, I love it here!" Ushio answers her father, "When I'm all grown up like you, and Sanae, I wanna come here with my kids!" she adds smiling.

"That so? Well, I'm sure they will love it here." Tomoya smiles back at Ushio, "No matter how big you get, and no matter what happens, you'll always be Daddy's little girl." he adds, placing a hand on Ushio's head, with the young Okazaki letting out a small giggle.

"Thanks Daddy."

"Anytime Shio." Tomoya replies to the young girl, "Come on, its getting late, we should get to bed." he tells Ushio, who begins to follow behind the blue haired man. After the father and daughter said goodnight (and after Tomoya sang Dango Daikazoku to Ushio) the two fell asleep in their futons.

Tomoya woke with a start, screaming out Ushio's name, sweating bullets, and out of breath, the man feels a wave of relief wash over him as he hears a worried Ushio calling out to him, as she walks into the room.

"Daddy? What's wrong?" the concerned girl walks up to Tomoya, with her father embracing her in a tight hug.

"U-Ushio, oh thank goodness you're okay!" Tomoya exclaims, feeling tears well up in his eyes.

"Did you have a bad dream Daddy?" Ushio asks, worried about her dad.

"Yeah, Daddy had a really scary dream." Tomoya replies, with Ushio having a hunch about what happened in said dream.

"Don't worry Daddy, I won't stop fighting my illness, I promised Mommy to not give up, and I promise that to you too." Ushio tries to reassure her father.

"You're a lot like Mommy, she was good at calming me down too." Tomoya smiles

"She was?"

"Yeah, she was." Tomoya nods, "We should get ready, we're going to the field of flowers today after all." Tomoya says to Ushio, letting go of the girl, and standing up,

"Right!" Ushio exclaims, ready for the fun day ahead of them.
