Ladybug runs along the rooftops, Chat Noir in her arms slowly losing consciousness. She can tell he's fighting it though, trying not to give up. Her heart pounds, her breaths coming out in short puffs.

"Hang in there, Kitty…," She mumbles, trying to comfort herself. The flash of a red plus crosses her vision and a spike of hope shoots through her body as she spots the hospital growing nearer. Finally...maybe he'll live. She thinks, going faster, swinging her yoyo as fast as she can. They grow nearer and nearer with every growing second, ladybug's ponytails are a mess by now, but she doesn't care. Her body aches with the effort of holding Chat and hastily hopping through the rooftops of Paris. A small smile forms on her face, trying to ignore her screaming body, and she clutches Chat tighter. Then, her heart drops, sinking lower in her stomach than ever before.

"Found you," Sneered Riptorous.

Ladybug's eyes widen, adrenaline pumping through her veins. No, no, no, not now! Ladybug pleads in her head. Please, I know we've been gone for a while, but not now! Then it hit her. They have been gone for a while. Too long. The streets below her raged in chaos, people screaming trying to pull their limp loved ones out of the line of destruction. Buildings are on fire, the air clogged with smoke and burning flesh. How could she not have noticed? A hero shouldn't be so careless. Tears pooled in her eyes. She's such an idiot, how could she let that happen.

"You're dead, heroes!" Screeches Riptorous from behind them.

"Shoot...M'lady, don' let 'er catch you, pleas' I don' 'no if I can live with m'self if yo' die," Says Chat Noir, tears rolling down his cheeks. "It hurs' M'lady, it hurts s' much," He clutched his body, shivering.

Chat...you're delirious, and you won't be alive that much long-

She shook her head, trying to rid the disheartening thoughts clouding her brain. Ladybug runs as fast as she can, taking alternative routes trying to lose the crazy villain. Eventually, and surprisingly, she loses Riptorous in the midst of her adrenalin driven sprint. landing in front of the hospital, she doesn't take a second of hesitation and sprints inside. The doctors rushed around, there were crying kids and people being hastily moved into rooms on hospital beds.

"Where's Ladybug and Chat Noir?"

"Mommy...please don't die."

"Why did this have to happen?"

"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts so bad, please, please…,"

Ladybug took in the chaos. All the distressed voices filled her ears, and her heart seemed to stop beating. She needs to get out of here. She'll just lead the cause of all this torture to the one place that people might have a chance of surviving.

"Ladybug? C-Chat Noir?"

The heroine looked to her side to find a doctor standing next to them. The doctor is a small man with a pointed nose and messy hair, he looks like he's under a lot of stress.

"Sir-,"

"W-where have you two been, everyone's asking 'where is Ladybug and Chat No-'," The doctor stopped talking, noticing Chat's condition. His eyes widened, rushing over to a limp Chat in Ladybug's arms.

"We are terribly sorry. I can't believe I let this happen. Chat was doing so bad and I didn't know what to do...and we ended up taking too long," Ladybug says, trying to keep composure. The doctor didn't say anything, looking at Ladybug with intense eyes. She knows what he's thinking. Right now is not time for excuses, Chat Noir is on the verge of death and the city of Paris is being destroyed, she has to stop it. She has to save everyone. Ladybug hesitated,

"What will happen to him?" She says, her voice stern.

"No, M'lady, I can't le' you d' this'. I haf' t' help," Chat says, trying to climb out of Ladybug's hold.

"Chat, stop, you can barely talk," Scolds Ladybug.

The doctor gave them a soft smile.

"It depends on how long the poison has been in his body. I can't guarantee his survival, but I can tell you that we've figured out that this poison is treatable and he might even be able to fight in a little while."

Ladybug's whole body seemed to melt with relief and a tear managed to slip past the barrier she had put up.

"Oh t-thank god, I w-was so worried~," She choked out. The doctor smiled and nodded his head. Ladybug handed Chat Noir to him, at this point Chat had given up fighting, and she left the building, ready for this nightmare to be over.

The world raged with chaos as she stepped outside. She took a deep breath, trying to ignore the growing guilt in her gut, and swung her yoyo, going in the direction of where she last remembered the villain being. Her feet landed on a rooftop, far away from the hospital. Buildings burned all around her, and people ran all over the place. Screams could be heard everywhere. If she could just find the akuma and smash it, all of this destruction and torment would be gone. Then, she heard clacking behind her. She spun around and watched as Riptorous climbed up the side of the building, using her needles to dig into the wall, propelling her up. Ladybug clenched her fists as Riptorous towered over her, the syringes holding her body off the ground.

"Are you finally ready to play?"
