A/N: Well here it is! I hope you enjoy! I did not read over this so I'm kind of just hoping it works! There's also no chapter title so... yay?

Finding herself in the flower shop wasn't really a surprise. Carrie walked through the small isles of the shop, her hand trailing on the polished wooden shelves. The scent of flowers was strong, almost too strong.

"Ah, you're back. Will you be needing those roses now?" The woman from two days ago was there again. Carrie shook her head.

"What flower means hope?" She asked.

"Irises. How many do you need?"

"Same as the last time." Carrie said, eyeing the dahlias on the shelf to her right. "And maybe can I have a few of those pink dahlias?"

"Elegance and inner strength." The woman said. "Doesn't really go with 'sorry' and 'hope'," She commented.

"It's for a different person." Carrie explained. "I'm not really going for the meaning of the flower with that one. She just really likes dahlias."

"Hmm." The woman said. She found irises an aisle over and came to Carrie's aisle to get the dahlias. She put them in bags, put water in the bags, and brought the flowers to the desk. "That'll be 16 dollars, 98 cents." Carrie handed her the credit card. She scanned it and then put the flowers in a bag. She handed the bag to Carrie.

"Thanks." Carrie said. The woman nodded. As Carrie exited the store she called,

"Good luck!"

. . . . .

Carrie received a call from Julie as she was getting home. She responded right away. "Hey." She said.

"Hi!" Julie replied with too much energy for it being after school. "So Flynn and I had plans to go to the mall later because - no, Luke! Stop that!" She said abruptly. "No going through my Dream Box! Hey!" She muted and Carrie had to restrain her snickers as she could see Julie yelling at someone. "Hey I'm back, sorry about that. The boys are here and really messing with me." She shook her head but she wore a fond smile. "Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the mall with Flynn and I for a girl's day out. Yes, girls." She emphasized shooting a pointed look at someone in her room.

"I'd love to come." Carrie said. Sure it would be awkward with Flynn, but Carrie was willing to go because maybe she could get a read on what she'd done, and could fix it.

And so, Carrie found herself at the mall on Friday, walking to Julie's left, with Flynn on Julie's right. They'd already been to the clothing store, shopping for Julie's outfit for her gig, which was on the same day as Carrie's so she couldn't go. She was disappointed, but she tried not to let it show. Julie was going for a look that her mom may have worn when she was in a band. She didn't have many more of her mom's clothes that she hadn't already worn to a gig, and she wanted to save the ones she had for special occasions. Julie - well more like Flynn - had picked out a silver crop top with a gray under shirt. She'd also picked out a nice pair of navy blue shorts and a navy blue jacket. Julie totally rocked the look - it wasn't as good as her Orpheum outfit, but it was still good - and of course Flynn had needed an outfit for Julie's gig as well. She'd chosen a pink leopard print top and simple black leggings, stating she wanted to "blend in with the crowd" which was just a convenient excuse for her to buy leopard print. (Flynn had always loved leopard print) Carrie had offered to pay, but Julie and Flynn insisted that they split it between the three of them.

And of course, they had to go to the chocolate store since it wasn't a mall visit without that. They each got a truffle, Julie got a dark chocolate caramel, Flynn got a milk chocolate with vanilla cream, and Carrie got a dark chocolate with raspberry filling. They sat down on one of the white seats in the area outside the chocolate shop and bit into them at the same time. The sounds of happiness were quite loud, and a few heads turned their way. They didn't care though.

"It's been so long since I've had one of these." Flynn said, vanilla cream dribbling down her chin. Carrie and Julie snickered. The rest of the day flew by, including the part where Julie popped into the stuffed animal shop (she's Julie, okay?) and left Flynn and Carrie in the hallway. That had been the slowest, most awkward five minutes of Carrie's life. But as they were getting ready to leave, Carrie decided to go check out the jewelry shop. Most of the stuff was too expensive, even for her. Her dad would freak out if he saw that much money had been spent on her credit card. But she found a small, purple heart shaped jewel that wasn't too expensive. It was engraved with a C and it seemed like the perfect thing. Carrie quickly bought it and returned to Julie and Flynn, who stopped their conversation as she approached. She was fairly sure she heard her name.

"What'd you get?" Flynn asked.

"Something for Kayla." Carrie lied.

Way to go Carrie. She thought as Flynn frowned slightly, so slightly she could have missed it. But she didn't. Great. As if I could have made it any worse. God, I don't know what I'm doing. Carrie wanted to slap herself.

She could say it was Kayla's birthday, but Kayla's birthday wasn't for another four months and knowing Julie she would probably want to do something fun for Kayla. So Carrie kept her mouth shut even though she knew she would regret this.

"Oh nice." Julie said, either going with it or too oblivious to notice. Julie wasn't usually oblivious, but sometimes she did occasionally miss things. She glanced at Flynn after that, so she clearly knew. "We should head back."

. . . . .

"Quit pacing! You're as bad as Alex!" Reggie exclaimed. Luke paced back and forth in front of the coffee table.

"But what if she doesn't like it?" Luke asked apprehensively.

"She will! This song is so good! It's from the heart Luke. And we practiced it too - I know that we didn't practice at full volume and yes I know that makes a difference but… you worked so hard on this. It's going to be great." Alex said.

The sounds of laughing interrupted them before Luke could reply. He jumped, his head whipping to the left, where the laughing was coming from. He could vaguely make out Carrie saying "Bye, I'll see you tomorrow."

The sounds of footsteps on the ground sounded outside the studio before the doors opened and Julie and Flynn entered. Flynn immediately dropped to the couch, sagging back. She sighed.

"Is… is everything okay?" Alex asked, as Luke stood there dumbly not doing anything.

"No." Flynn grumbled. Julie sighed and flopped down next to her. Flynn covered her face with her hands. "Why does the world hate me?" She asked in a meek voice.

"What happened?" Reggie set aside his bass.

"Girl trouble." Julie replied. "Carrie bought something for Kayla. She thinks that means Carrie doesn't like her. I've explained it multiple times that just because Carrie bought something for Kayla, doesn't mean that she likes her."

"Carrie likes girls?" Alex asked. Julie's face melted into horror.

"Okay, you don't say a word about it to her. She'll kill me if she finds out I told you." Julie looked over at Flynn, who still hadn't moved. "And Flynn has had a crush on Carrie for quite a while." Flynn smacked Julie's arm gently. "What? It's true. And they're not going to tell anyone. Maybe they have some ideas?" She glanced hopefully at them.

"Uhhhh..." Reggie considered for a moment. "Get her a present that somehow says "I have a crush on you" but also says "This is Flynn giving this to you." But don't make it too obvious it's from you."

"That's… actually not a bad idea." Flynn admitted. She sat up, her eyes sparkling. "If it is Carrie who left me the flowers, I can show her I can do it right back at her. I'll send her my own 'flower-message'," Flynn said. "Come on Jules, there's a florist not too far from here. Let's go." She dragged Julie to her feet.

"Flynn, are you sure this is a good idea? It might not even be Carrie leaving those flowers for you and she might be creeped out if she finds some random flowers on her doorstep."

"You do have a point, but you're not going to change my mind." Flynn looked so giddy about this so Luke put in,

"It won't hurt right? It's just some innocent flowers? Maybe they blew onto Carrie's porch? Who really knows?" Flynn's already wide grin widened and she gave Julie a pleading look.

"Alright let's go." Julie gave in. The girls exited the studio as quickly as they'd come.

"Guess you don't have to worry about your song for a little while." Alex said, his hand resting on Luke's shoulder.

"Yeah." Luke agreed, disappointed but not super upset since Julie was helping Flynn. "I guess not."

. . . . .

"Flynn!" Julie huffed, out of breath. "Slow down." Flynn stopped for exactly half a second before continuing. Julie knew Flynn was excited about this idea -which had probably been Reggie's first idea that someone had actually taken seriously - but she was really into it.

"Hurry up, Jules!" Flynn called. Julie rolled her eyes and then sprinted to catch up. "There it is!" Flynn pointed across the street to the little flower shop. She grabbed Julie's wrist and they hustled across the street. Flynn leading the way and Julie nearly falling on her face in the middle of the street. Flynn marched into the flower shop, the little bell above the door tinkling as they entered. Flynn dropped Julie's wrist and strided purposefully to the back of the store, where there was a desk. A woman with glasses sat behind the desk, reading a book. She looked up. Julie dropped to the ground, out of breath and promising herself to work out more so next time Flynn dragged her at a hundred miles an hour to a florist shop, she'd be able to do it.

"Can I help you?" The woman put her book aside and adjusted her glasses.

"What flower means forgiveness?" Flynn asked.

"Well hydrangeas mean 'Thank you for understanding' but they also mean 'heartlessness',"

"How about…"

"Ah, many people in your place go with the rose. It symbolizes true love." The woman said with a smile. Flynn blushed. Julie snickered.

"Actually that's fine, I don't need those yet. How about beauty?" Flynn asked.

"Yet?" Julie echoed. Flynn shot her a glare and Julie smirked.

"Calla lilies symbolize beauty." The florist lady said. "I could get some for you if you'd like. How many do you need?"

"A few." Flynn said, still giving Julie "the look". "Thanks," The woman gathered some lilies, put them in a plastic bag and filled it with water. She returned to her desk.

"Would you like anything else?" She asked Flynn.

"Nope, how much do those cost?" She slung her small bag forward and she started digging around looking for cash.

"Twelve dollars, forty-six cents." The woman replied. Flynn dug out a wad of cash.

"How's thirteen dollars?" The woman nodded, took the cash, handed Flynn the difference, which Flynn promptly placed into the tips jar that had a colorful tag and Tips written in a fancy font. "Thank you!" Flynn called as she spun on her heel, grabbed Julie's arm, yanked her to her feet, and hauled her out the door. "We have to go drop these off at Carrie's house!" She exclaimed, tugging on Julie's arm.

"How about we ask my dad to drive us?" Julie said. Flynn nodded and she pulled Julie down the street, back toward her house.

. . . . .

She left later that day for Flynn's house. She walked again, this time wearing sneakers. It still took her a long time, but she reached Flynn's house with the irises and the purple heart gem tied around the stems with a ribbon. She snuck up Flynn's lawn as the sun was setting and slipped the flowers and gem onto her welcome mat. She called her driver as she walked away because she didn't want to be walking alone when it was dark.

As the driver, Sabrina, pulled into Carrie's house, she noticed something at the front door. She stepped out of the car and walked up to the door. Carrie knew how to identify flowers (she wasn't only an expert on makeup) and she recognized these as calla lilies. Slightly creeped out, she took the flowers inside, wondering how whoever had left these (she was hoping it was Flynn but she kept her mind from wandering that way) had made it over the security gate, especially since there was barbed wire. She sat down at the kitchen counter, opened her pink and black laptop, and googled what do Calla Lilies mean? She found out that they meant beauty. Smiling, Carrie put some of the lilies in water and kept one. She would preserve it and keep it somewhere safe. She found her phone and opened up her texts to Julie. Double checking that she was in fact, texting Julie, she wrote,

Carrie: I found some flowers on my doorstep.

Julie responded a few seconds later.

Julie: Neat. Know who they're from?

Carrie: No, but I have some ideas.

Julie: Like who?

Carrie: Well it has to be a team of two because they got over the security gate using teamwork. It has to be people I know, because why would some rando leave me flowers that mean 'beauty'? So who does that leave…

She would be lying if she said she wasn't hoping that Julie would confirm her theory. Instead, Julie sent:

Julie: Oh nice. Any names? Kayla perhaps?

Carrie: What? No, not Kayla.

Julie: Who then?

Carrie: If I told you, would you tell them?

Julie: No

Carrie: Okay, was it you and Flynn?

Julie: Maybe.

Carrie: Thanks, I'll take that as a yes.

Julie: Go for it.

Carrie smiled, putting her phone face down on the counter. Julie had confirmed that it was Flynn. But why? Why would Flynn be giving her flowers? Sure, Carrie had given her flowers but that was supposed to stay secret. If Flynn was giving her flowers back did that mean-

No, Carrie. Flynn doesn't like you. She probably just thinks this is a thing you're doing for fun. Carrie thought. But that didn't mean she was about to stop laying her cards on the table. If anything, she was playing even harder now.
