"So…" Danny started, his eyes darting across the table from Sam to Tucker. "Is there anything between you two?" Danny asked, as his eyes squinted, trying to spot the obvious signs if they are lying.
Tucker and Sam looked at each other confused. "What do you mean, Danny?" Tucker asked.
Danny pointed his meat-covered fork at him. "You keep disappearing after class and I couldn't contact you until 7." Then he pointed his utensil at Sam, making her back away from it. "And, you. Where are you during the free period? We have the same free period every day."
"O-oh… Um…" Sam stuttered, looking anywhere but Danny and Tucker. Tucker did the same, pulling his turtleneck by the collar uneasily. "Come on, guys. Just spit it out. I feel kind of betrayed here…"
"You feel betrayed?" Tucker said in exaggeration. "Dude, you ditch us to do ghost hunting activities with your parents in the name of "training," but now, they're fairly good and your training sessions aren't as necessary as before. I also got ditched when Sam, over here, decided to have a change of heart and hang out with an A-lister instead."
"Wait, what?" Danny and Sam both exclaimed. "You were hanging out with an A-lister?" Danny exclaimed, almost pushing himself off from his seat with the sudden surprise.
"I-I can explain…" Sam said, her hand gesturing for them to calm down, but how could she calm down. She glanced, not wanting to out herself because she was just not ready to tell them yet. Her eyes landed on Tucker and realized that he, himself, was not sharing where he was going after school. "As soon as Tucker tells us where he's been."
The argument circled e teenagers until they all finally revealed their afternoon activities. Sam was hanging out with Star and they bonded over music, and Tucker was being asked by Paulina to tutor him, as unbelievable as it sounds. Danny apologized to them for not making much time for their regular hangouts.
Since they all seemed to be busy with schedules and other stuff, they made a compromise. They'd get to hang out every Wednesday, Friday, and the weekends. They weren't sure what time or where to meet, but they're going to figure it out over text later.
