The very next day, Jet had Sokka and I standing on some tree branches along with the rest of the Freedom Fighters. Me and another one of my shadow clones that I made before coming along with Jet are on a branch away from the others. Jet was giving out whistle calls to the other fighters and Sokka stuck his boomerang inside the tree trunk.
"What are you doing." Jet whispers.
"Shhhh, I listening to vibrations." Sokka whispered back.
"Nice thinking, Sokka." I complimented.
The three of us went quiet for a moment before Sokka picked up something.
"I got something." Sokka whispered again.
"How many?" Jet asked.
"One, I think."
I looked around as well, but didn't see anything. My shadow clone however, did see the person and sent the information to me. From what my clone saw, the person Sokka felt was an old man. Jet had already whistled again and grabbed his hook swords, but he was also got off guard by the old man's presence.
"Guys, it's a false alarm. It's just an old man!" I exclaimed, but my words fell upon deaf ears as Jet and his fighters had already launched their surprise attack.
"Where do you think you're going, leech?" Jet asked with a venomous tone. Sokka and I had jumped down from our branches right behind Jet.
"Please sir, I'm just an old man." The elder said.
Jet ignores the man's pleas and glares harshly at him, swiping the man's cane causing him to fall."
"JET!" I called out, but he ignored me.
"Please...H-have m-mercy." The man begged.
"Does the Fire Nation show any mercy?!" Jet asked accusingly.
"JET THAT'S ENOUGH! HE'S JUST AN OLD MAN!" I yelled out with Sokka agreeing with me.
"HE'S FIRE NATION!" Jet yelled back. "SEARCH THE OLD MAN!"
"LIKE HELL YOU WILL!"
I immediately jumped in front of the old man and pulled out Minato's kunai and got into a fighting stance. Jet sneered at me and the other fighters started to surround me in a circle. Smellerbee struck first. She charged at me with her sword and swung at me. I blocked the attack with my kunai and kicked her in the gut, causing her to fall back. Pipsqueak came up behind me and tried to bear hug me, but my shadow clone came in just in time and punched him in the jaw, throwing him back a couple of feet.
"What the hell? There are two of him?"
Longshot began to shoot arrows at the two of us, but we enhanced our speed with chakra and delivered a right handed punch into his gut. The only one who was left standing was Jet who sneered and glared at me and my clone.
"I knew it! Katara was wrong about you! You're nothing more than a Fire Nation sympathizer!" He yelled out. His comment about Katara irked me to the point that I almost entered my demon cloak but was able to contain myself. I watched as Jet gathered his fighters and they ran off back towards the hideout. Sokka also joined up with me as well.
"Are you ok?" I turned towards the old man.
The elder gave me a light smile, "I'm alright, thanks to you two."
"Wellll, Trey here did all the work." Sokka said.
"Oh, I was talking about him and his twin." The man stated.
"Ohhh..." Sokka then turns towards me "We should probably get back to the hideout and tell the others."
I nodded, "Especially Katara and Aang. They need to know what Jet almost did and we need to figure out whatever Jet is planning to do."
I turned back towards the man, "Stay safe."
He nodded his head as Sokka and I took off back towards the hideout.
"Jet...I'm so gonna kick your ass."
Sokka and I stormed through the hideout with angry expressions on our faces. We saw Aang and Katara sitting around near The Duke.
"Hey Trey! Sokka!, Look what The Duke gave me!" Aang holds up a bag of tiny pellets and throws one of them near Momo, causing a small explosion near the lemur who hissed in return.
We both ignored him and sat down.
"Is Jet back?" Katara asked.
"Yeah he's back, but we're leaving NOW." I growled.
"What? Why!?" Katara asked.
"Because your little boyfriend is a thug!" Sokka yelled. I felt my eyebrow twitch at the mention of that smug ass being Katara's boyfriend.
Katara blushed furiously, "What?! No he isn't!"
"Sokka, he just has a different lifestyle from the rest of us." Aang assured.
I grabbed Aang by his collar and glared at him.
"HE JUST ATTACKED AN OLD MAN!"
"Well, I wanna hear his side of the story." Katara stubbornly says.
"I'm guessing those two told you what happened." Jet said as we all nodded. "Did they forget to mention that not only did Trey attack me and my friends, but that the person we were watching was Fire Nation."
Katara glared at me and I glared right back, "No they most certainly did not." She said.
"Even if he was Fire Nation, he's a civilian." I growled.
"He was an assassin." Jet countered, pulling out a small knife from a bag. "He was holding a poisoned knife on him."
"Well, I guess that settles it." Katara says, putting her hands on her hips.
"No it doesn't" Sokka said. "There's no way you could've gotten that big while Trey and his clone were stopping you from attacking that man."
I nodded, "He's right." I then turned towards Jet, "So how did you get it exactly?"
I saw Jet gulp very hard, knowing that we had him cornered, but somehow, that little weasel managed to get another lie out of his smug mouth.
"During our little scuffle...the old man dropped his bag and before I left, I picked it up." Jet said. Sokka and I could tell he was lying and before we could even retort his claim, Katara came up and put a hand in between us and Jet.
"Sokka! Trey!, that's enough." Katara said in a demanding tone. "Jet saved your lives and this is how you repay him? Honestly, I expected this from Sokka, but from you Trey...I thought you were different."
I couldn't help but feel a slight pang of anger at Katara when she said those words. I was so angry that my demon cloak did activate but it was only one tail still. I saw Aang, Katara and Sokka all flinch and tense as Kurama's chakra flared to life around me. Jet, however, had a look of fear. I shifted my red, slit eyes at Katara and glared at her.
"Katara...for your sake, I hope you get over this stupid little crush you have on that smug bastard and wake up. He's planning something, I know he is and if your too blind by your feelings to see it then whatever happens next is on your head." I gritted out. I let the demon cloak go and stalked out of the hut, leaving everyone in a state of shock and fear.
Night had fallen and I hadn't been back at the hideout since I snapped at Katara. I didn't know where I was except for the fact that I was near some dam of some sort or at least I think it was a dam. I was beginning to feel a little bit guilty about snapping at Katara, but she was letting her stupid and irritable crush on that smug bastard get in the way of seeing that Jet was lying and that he has a hidden agenda. I sighed harshly, releasing whatever remnants of my anger I had and began to walk back towards the hideout, but I saw two familiar people that caught my eye. Longshot and The Duke setting up barrels near the dam.
"What are those two doing?" I asked to myself. Then I remembered what was in those barrels. Blasting Jelly. I gritted my teeth in anger. That bastard was going to use the blasting jelly to destroy the Fire Nation colony that was nearby, probably the one that the old man came from.
"That's not happening on my watch." I muttered. I activated the demon cloak and jumped down into the dam, confronting Longshot and the big oaf.
"Oi! You bastards!." The two "Freedom Fighters" turned and glared at me.
"What did you call us?" The Duke asked.
I smirked at him, "Bast-"
I didn't even get to finish my sentence as Longshot shot an arrow at me. I quickly dodged it and smirked at the two of them.
"Oh this is gonna be fun."
I launched myself at Longshot first. Charging at him, I threw Minato's kunai at him and the archer barely dodged it in time, but it did cut part of his cheek. Before he could even recover, I had a Vanishing Rasengan charged and ready and threw it at him. At first, he was dumbfounded by what had just happened but he quickly went flying as the jutsu hit its mark. The Duke came over and threw a boulder at me, but I punched threw it, much to his shock. I charged at him as well and went through familiar hand signs.
"Wind Release: Air Bullets."
I shot out fast bullets of air at the big oaf, sending him flying as well.
Whistle
I heard a sound of someone whistling and looked up to see Aang, Katara, and Jet (who was frozen to a tree) look over at the dam. The Duke and Longshot whistled back and I saw Longshot cock an arrow in his bow. I tried to reach him before he shot off the arrow, but to no avail, the arrow hit the blasting jelly, causing a massvie explosion and the dam break. I quickly jumped out of the way so that the water wouldn't hit me and I saw Longshot and The Duke escape somewhere else as well. I gritted my teeth and growled in anger before running towards where Aang and Katara were.
"JET!" The freedom fighter turned towards me and flinched as he noticed my eyes and lashing tail. "YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT! ALL THOSE PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE ON YOUR HEAD!"
It was then that I felt a spark of anger ignite from within me and felt another tail form out of my demon cloak. I had entered the two tailed demon cloak form. I was going to attack Jet, but before I could someone's voice stopped me.
"Trey! Wait!"
I turned around to see Sokka riding on Appa.
"Sokka!" Aang and Katara cried.
"Sorry Jet, your little plan didn't work out. I had already warned the colony about it." Sokka stated, causing Jet to become enraged.
"WHAT!" Jet yelled.
Sokka nodded, "At first, the people down there didn't believe me, but that old man that Trey and I saved vouched for me and well the rest is history."
"Sokka! You fool!" Jet scolded the young water tribesman. "We could've saved this valley!"
Sokka smirked, "Oh trust me we did. We saved it from you." He then turned his attention back towards us. "C'mon guys. We gotta world to save."
Aang was the one to hop on Appa first, but I stayed next to Katara still in my demon cloak form.
"Katara...please..." Jet begged.
"Goodbye Jet." Katara said before turning her back on him and walked towards Appa. I then walked up towards Jet and glared at him.
"If I ever see you again, I'll show you why people call me the Spirit Fox." I then punched Jet in the face, knocking him out completely. Then I joined the others on Appa and Sokka hit his reins, causing our favorite flying bison to start his ascend. I sat on Appa's saddle for a while and calmed myself down, allowing the two tailed cloak too finally dissipate. I then turned towards Katara.
"Hey Katara..." The waterbender turned towards me. "I'm sorry about snapping at you earlier. It was wrong of me and I-"
I couldn't even finish my sentence as she wrapped me into a tight hug. At first, I was shocked, but then I slowly melted into her hug.
"It's okay." Katara murmured. "I forgive you...and I guess I should thank you as well." She gives me a kiss on my cheek causing me to blush and I could've sworn I heard Kurama laugh. I then turned towards Sokka.
"Hey Sokka." The nonbender turned towards me. "That was some pretty quick thinking, I guess your instincts aren't that bad." I teased.
"Hey sometimes, my instincts are the greatest." Sokka stated proudly.
"Uh Sokka, we're going the wrong way." Aang stated.
Sokka's eyes widened, but he quickly recovered, "And sometimes, they're the absolute worst." He turns the reins and Appa begins flying in the right direction as the rest of us begin to laugh at Sokka embarrasment.
