Hello, everyone. Welcome to the final chapter. This has been a great, little story to write and I can't thank all of you enough.
Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia or any of the characters.
Midoriya was concerned about what was so important that Yanagi had to rush over here at night to talk to him about it.
Yanagi suddenly smiled and sat down beside him.
"Yanagi." Midoriya said.
Yanagi wrapped her arms around him, effectively surprising both him and herself.
"What am I doing?!" Yanagi thought.
"I didn't mean to be this forward so quickly, this is what I get for going off of my instincts." Yanagi thought.
Before letting go, she remembered Setsuna's advice of focusing on how she feels rather than how she thinks she should feel.
"Sorry, I was just remembering that night with the snowstorm." Yanagi told him.
Midoriya just nodded, since he wasn't sure how to respond.
Yanagi still remained close to him and looked at him as she spoke.
"It's now or never, just ask him." Yanagi thought.
"People have been talking about us." Yanagi said.
Midoriya turned to look at her, noticing the slight blush on her face.
"Yeah, everyone in my class was asking about you and I." Midoriya told her.
Yanagi laughed a little, as she knew that feeling.
"They seem to think of us as some kind of couple or at the very least, they think we're going to be." Yanagi said.
An awkward silence followed that statement and as time went by, she wasn't sure where to go from here.
"This seemed so much easier in my mind." Yanagi thought.
"What do you think?" Midoriya asked.
Yanagi was taken aback by the question.
One more look at Midoriya was all that she needed.
"He's expecting honesty and I've been acting like a fool trying to approach the issue like this." Yanagi thought.
Yanagi took a breath and proceeded to give him her honest answer.
"I think that I have no idea what I'm doing right now." Yanagi admitted.
Midoriya smirked, in amusement.
"I like you, a lot actually but at the same time, starting a relationship like this seems odd." Yanagi said.
Midoriya chuckled as he heard this.
"We haven't even started a relationship or even talked about dating at all for that matter." Midoriya said.
"That's true." Yanagi said, with a little laugh.
"Honestly, I really like you too and it might seem a little weird given the circumstances, but maybe we could give it a try." Midoriya said.
Yanagi was once again surprised.
"I don't really know anything about relationships but I do know that I like spending time with you and that we've gotten closer than I ever would have thought." Midoriya said, as he held her hand.
"I don't know what I'm doing right now either and this all seems weird to me but I want to take this chance." Midoriya said.
Yanagi yawned and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I think that I'd like that… Izuku." Yanagi said.
Midoriya was surprised for a moment as he heard her call him by his first name.
Midoriya pulled her closer to him for her to comfortably rest.
"This seems familiar." Yanagi joked.
"Yeah, I just don't know whether it's less awkward or more awkward." Midoriya said.
"That seems to be a theme in our friendship." Yanagi said, with a laugh.
As the night went on, the two of them talked before they finally fell asleep.
Later.
After the morning sun had risen, Midoriya and Yanagi began to make their way towards the 1-B dorms.
As they approached the front doors, they stopped.
"I guess that I won't be seeing as much of you since you won't be assisting Vlad anymore." Yanagi said.
"I'll stop by whenever I can, you and your classmates won't get away from my training so easily." Midoriya said.
"So, now you're using training as an excuse to see me?" Yanagi asked.
"I would like to spend as much time with you as I can." Midoriya said.
Yanagi put her arms around him and at the same time Midoriya put his arms around her waist.
Then, the two of them slowly started to lean in.
"What am I doing?!" Yanagi thought.
"I mean I do want to kiss him but we only just started dating, am I moving too fast?!" Yanagi thought.
"Is this really happening?!" Midoriya thought.
"I hope I don't mess this up, I really hope that I don't mess this up!" Midoriya thought.
Fate had other plans, as the front door swung open and six girls fell over, right next to them.
Both Yanagi and Midoriya flinched and separated from each other, turning their attention towards Yanagi's classmates.
Each of them had looks of embarrassment on their faces, save for Yui, who just gave a nod of support towards Yanagi.
"Sorry about that, we just noticed that Yanagi wasn't here and when we saw that the two of you were headed this way, we got curious." Kendo apologized.
"Congratulations!" Pony shouted.
"While I don't approve of such public displays of affection, I am happy for both of you." Ibara said.
"Wow, you work fast, hey Midoriya do you have room for one more?" Setsuna asked, jokingly.
Kinoko covered Setsuna's mouth with her hand to stop her from embarrassing Midoriya any further.
"Ignore her, the two of you will be great together." Kinoko said.
Yanagi rolled her eyes at their antics and then kissed Midoriya on the cheek.
"I guess we'll just have to wait until the right moment." Yanagi whispered.
As the rest of the girls went back inside, Yanagi stopped in the doorway, turning around to look at Midoriya as she held the door open.
"From now on, call me Reiko." Yanagi said.
Thank you so much. This one has been a little different to write since I wanted to focus more on the emotional connection between people and establishing a relationship rather than show the results. I wanted to focus more on the beginning of a relationship and I'm so glad that it's been enjoyable to read. I hope that you enjoyed it and I hope that all of you have a good day.
