Irene turned seventeen, she spent the last year with Bruce at Camp. She felt so happy inside that she was dating him. Bruce turned eighteen as well, but it didn't matter to them. Soon Irene would turn eighteen as well, then they will get married! Irene became so excited.
"You're happy," Bruce says. He kissed her forehead.
"I'm just hoping for our future, there hasn't been a war since my trial, but that's good right?" Irene asked.
"I don't know, the fordges have been busier lately, there were a lot of weapons being made and shipped."
"To where?"
"Poseidon's castle."
Irene looked outside the cabin and saw some of the Poseidon kids fighting the Athena kids, it took more demigods to break them up.
"I think I know why there's so many weapons, Poseidon and Athena are going to war, but I don't know why," Irene says.
"Should we choose sides?" Bruce asks.
"I don't know, but maybe we shouldn't."
"Why?"
"I don't wanna get involved with this war, maybe when it happens, I can ask my dad to bring my mother and grandmother into his realm for them to be safe. Then we can join them."
"I don't wanna leave my brothers and sisters, but they haven't talked to me ever since I started to date you. I just wanna make sure they are safe before we leave."
Bruce leaves the cabin as Irene begins to pack. When Bruce came back she already packed up all of the bags. Irene showed Bruce a new power, the ability to enter Tartarus anywhere. She stuck out her hand and opened a hole and they both entered. They went to Tartarus' and to his castle. He welcomed them and Irene left to get her family.
"You really care for my daughter don't you?" Tartarus asks.
"I do." Bruce replies.
"Can you promise me that you'll keep her safe, no matter what happens?"
"I can."
Irene came back with her mother and grandmother, then they watched the fight unfold. They were evenly matched, Poseidon and Athena, they decimated the whole west coast, but no one won. They both surrendered and decided to quit the war. Irene, Bruce, and Irene's family came out of Tartarus and continued on with their lives.
