Once again the pair of them had fallen asleep, there wasn't much else they could do. McCoy was just hoping that the Enterprise would find them sooner rather than later, he was getting a bad feeling that something was going to happen and it wasn't going to be a good thing. It was then when McCoy heard something that woke him up instantly, it sounded like a growl. McCoy slowly rose to his feet, trying not to make too much noise since he didn't really know what was happening. At first he believed the sound was coming from outside, but it soon became clear that it was coming from inside the cave.

"Leonard, what's going on?" Muttered Scotty as he gently rubbed his eyes, "I think we've got company and I don't really want to find out who, come on." McCoy quickly, but gently pulled Scotty to his feet, however he still wasn't able to stand on his own, so McCoy wrapped one of the Scotsman's arms around his shoulders. Suddenly there was a loud hiss, "That's our cue to get the hell out of here!" McCoy called as he darted for the mouth of the cave. Scotty looked back to see a pair of eyes glowing in the darkness, something then moved into the light. It looked like a jaguar, which wasn't a good thing.

Scotty just hoped that the jaguar wouldn't choose to follow them, but of course that was never going to happen. "Can things get any worse?" Muttered McCoy as he glanced back to see their pursuer, "Careful what you wish for Leonard, that's what you always tell Jimbo." Scotty stated with a small smile. Once again McCoy glanced back to see how far behind the big cat was, only to find it pouncing at them. Thinking as quickly as he could, McCoy shoved Scotty to the side with such force that he actually landed on the floor, on his injured leg.

When he looked back over he saw the jaguar had McCoy pinned to the floor and was baring its teeth at him, the look of fear in the Doctors eyes was clear for Scotty to see and he knew he had to do something, before the big cat attacked him. Fumbling his hand about at the side of him, Scotty soon found a large rock to use as a weapon of some kind. He didn't want to hurt the animal, he just wanted to scare it. With the little energy he had in his body, Scotty threw the rock which hit the jaguar in the neck, causing it to fall off McCoy and lay on the ground. "Sorry fella, didn't mean to hurt ya." Scotty muttered to himself, he really did feel bad, he knew one person who wouldn't be very happy that he hurt an animal.

He then watched as McCoy slowly sat up, a hand pressed hard on the back of his head. "You alright?" Scotty asked not bothering to try and stand up, he couldn't feel his injured leg anymore, so he could almost guarantee he would fall straight back down. "Yeah I'm fine, just got a cut on the back of my head. Nothing too serious I don't think, you OK?" Scotty nodded slowly, "Apart from not being able to feel one of my legs, I'm doing grand." McCoy leapt to his feet and hurried over to him. "Don't say it like it's a normal thing Scotty, come on lets get out of here before our 'friend' wakes up."

McCoy said as he helped Scotty to his feet once more, "Thanks." The two of them then set off once more, to hopefully get as far away from the jaguar as possible. But once again that didn't happened since they were now face to face with the big cat, which they hadn't even heard move. "I'm starting to think that nature hates the pair of us." Muttered Scotty, "Ya think." McCoy answered. There was a very brief staring contest between them, that was before the big cat pounced once more at them. But suddenly they vanished, which seemed to confuse the jaguar a lot.
