Chapter 8 Secrets kept hidden

It was the weekend time and Yugi not used to Tokyo yet he didn't know what to do with the weekend. His older cousin had secretly gone out with Tiara and bought everything he would need for class and school in general, having gone to his teachers while him and Kou had been inside the boundary.

It was a wonderful gesture but now with Saturday arrived he didn't know how to spend his day until Kou dragged him out of his room in the middle of the day. "Itoko! Get dressed, we're going somewhere." Yugi blinked at his cousin confused but didn't question the excitable blonde.

A couple minutes later he got a white button down shirt with his blue blazer and blue jeans on. He couldn't help wear them. He pulled on his socks, studded bracelet and buckle choker. He still wore his puzzle.

He was worried about yami and made note that later when he got back to check inside the puzzle to see if he was alright. He met Kou at the door and slipped his sneakers on. Kou stuffed the gloves he took from Yami into Yugi's pocket as he also pockets his cellphone. Kou opened the door calling back.

"We're leaving Teru-nii! Be back later!" Somewhere in the house Teru called back. "Be safe and Yugi? Stay with Kou! Don't lose each other and don't get lost." Yugi smiled at the slight worry in the older brothers voice. "We'll be okay!" Yugi called as they shut the door behind them as Kou taking the lead as the two walked down the street.

"Ne, Itoko? How's Yami doing? Is he okay?" The blonde looked at his older cousin and noticed the teen's face fall a little with worry framing his features as he held his puzzle in his hands.

"I haven't a clue Kou.. ever since he fought Sukiyaki with Hanako... I need to check on him later today but that requires for my mind to enter the puzzle." Kou's eyes widen, he didn't know that Yugi's connection to the puzzle was so complex that he could enter the millennium item on his own.

"Don't worry Itoko! I'm sure Yami's okay, Ne?" He gave a hopeful and helpful smile for his cousin pumping his arms in the air at his sides. Yugi smiled at his cousin, nodding his head. For being young Kou knew how to make someone smile and he didn't want his cousin to be upset.

"So where are we going?" Yugi mentions again wondering where his younger cousin could be taking him on a Saturday. "The park! Yashiro-senpai wanted us to meet up there, we were gonna explode Tokyo with you with Aoi-Senpai and Akane-senpai." He chirped excitedly. Yugi loved his cousins enthusiasm, he was eager fun and enjoyed everything.

"Aahhh! Watch out! I can't stop!" The two turned fast and saw someone who lost control on their bike crash into them. "Ahhhh!" The two screamed as the bike crashed into the two of them as all of them ended up on the ground Kou and Yugi pinned by a bike and the person riding it.

The three of them groan hard as the boy who happened to be 13 jumped up and pulled his bike off the two leaning it against the fence.

"Ahh! I-I'm so sorry, are you guys alright??" Yugi and kou got a good look at the boy who wore a grey jacket salmon pink shirt under it with light blue jeans and red sneakers. His brown hair with an orange-ish brown layer on the top of his hair.

It was styled flowing back behind his head with his front parted on either side of his face with his bangs just covering his forehead. His brown eyes were filled with concern a worried grimace on his face. Kou recovered first sitting up rubbing his head as he pulled his Cousin to his feet.

"We're fine, but are you ok?" Kou did a double take and whined. "Oh no your hurt! You cut up your pants really good and you got a cut on your knee." Kou kneeled in front of the kid pulling his pant leg up as kou pulled a mini first aid kit from his back pocket and fixed the boy up in seconds, the kid looked surprised by Kou's sudden action.

"Thank you, but you didn't need to trouble yourself. I'm really sorry about my bike. I just got it and this is my third time using it... I'm still not good with the breaks." He ruffled the back of his head slightly embarrassed.

Yugi smiled at his cousin as he closed the first aid kit and pocketed it. "It's no trouble. My baby sister gets scrapped up often. I've just grown accustomed to carrying a first aid kit for her. I'm Kou Minamoto." He put his hand out to the kid, his red wrist band on his wrist.

The 13 year old smile taking his hand and shaking it. "I'm Jaden Yuki. I'm kinda new to the area. We moved here from the other side of town." Kou smiled as Yugi approached the two a slight smile on his face as he looked at the brunette boy. "I'm Yugi Muto. Does that mean you'll start school around here soon?" Jaden picked his bike from the fence and held the handlebars.

"Hmm I think so. Not sure where I'm attending this time since my last school isn't close enough for me to attend, according to my parents at least." Jaden made a down hearted expression but quickly recovered smiling at us. "Demo, I got to meet you guys so it's all good!" He grins so widely his eyes shut on their own.

Yugi smiled. The three of them eventually start walking and idolly chatter. "Ohh your from Domino? I was born there. Dad has a busy job so we tend to move around a lot, this is my 3rd time moving in just a couple years." Jaden didn't sound too happy about the fact. It must be hard a kid his age not being able to keep friends for very long.

"You can consider us your friends for life, Jaden! In fact if you come with us, we're going to meet some classmates right now!" Kou's words made Jaden's eyes light up in delight and eagerness.

"Really?! Then what are we waiting for!" Jaden rans ahead of them dragging his bike, his brown eyes glowing in the mid-day light. Yugi and Kou ran after him, laughing at the younger boys even more infectious energy. "Matte, Jaden!" Kou called back as the two had trouble keeping up with the boy even with the heavy bike.

In Jadens's excitement as they neared the crosswalk he missed a car zooming down the street. Yugi saw it first as he sprints and rips the boy away from his bike as the car clips the bike sending it flying in the air, the wheel bent up and busted as it landed in the bush across the street. Jaden's eyes widen in shock and horror as he clings to Yugi as the car speed down the street out of sight.

"Jaden! Itoko are you alright!?" Kou who was a few feet behind saw in horror as the scene had unfolded. Jaden was a shaken mess as the two were on the ground where Yugi threw the both of em to avoid the car. Kou ran to the two boys helping them up.

"That bastard... Jaden are you alright..?" Kou touched the boys arm as Yugi looked and met the boys now wet eyes. Across the street was the park where their friends had saw the whole thing.

"Muto-kun! Kou-kun! Are you both alright!?" Yashiro ran across the street to the two of them, Aoi and Akane were on the sidewalk across the street.

"W-we're fine. Jaden was almost hit by that car. Akane-San can you get his bike out of the bush?" Yugi called to the glasses brunette who nodded and ran to the bush to pry the nearly broken bike out of the bush.

Yugi rubbed Jaden's back who was still quiet his eyes still wide. "Jaden, can you hear me? It's okay-" his words cut out when the boy who was the same height as him hugged him tightly sniffling. "Thank you..Thank you.." his voice cracked. Yugi held on to the 13 year old who was shaking in his arms.

"Are you okay?" Yashiro patted the boys back who turned to look at her. He nodded a little. "I think so... Yugi saved my life!" He started to smile again his eyes still had a hint of fright in them. Yugi smiled ruffling the boys hair as they rejoined Aoi and Akane crossing the street Kou and Yugi holding Jaden's hand to keep him safe this time.

"I'm so glad you boys are alright. That was really scary." Aoi brushed her indigo hair behind her shoulder as she looked at Jaden. "Sorry about your bike. The whole first wheel is destroyed, you'll have to get it replaced." Akane gave him his diagnosis, tho they could see that the front wheel was completely bent sideways.

Jaden sighed rubbing his arm. "Dang.. hope mom won't be mad." Yugi gave him an encouraging smile. "Don't worry Kou and I will tell her what happened." That made Jaden looked relieved as the group relaxed at the park.

"So what's your name? You seem close to our age if I'm not wrong." Akane suspected. Jaden nodded smiling as he raised his hand in a greeting form. "I'm Jaden Yuki, I'm 13 and I moved from the northern side of a Tokyo. I'm supposed to attend school somewhere around here." The brunette gave a hearty smile at the three older kids.

"I'm Yashiro Nene, this is Aoi Akane and Akane Aoi." She gestures to the indigo and brunette next to her who smile. Jaden took notice of their clothes. While the girls wore cutesy dresses Akane was actually in his uniform. "Is that a school uniform?" He points to Akane's sweater vest and off white shirt underneath with his tie hanging out.

"Oh yes. We all attend the same school. Our school has a Middle school division which Kou-kouhai attends." Jaden looked exicted. his eyes light up again as he looks at Kou.

"I hope I get to attend your school then! It'll be so much fun!" He pumped his fists in the air. The group ended up chaining the broken bike up by the park as the group walked around showing Yugi and now Jaden the local places that their age group enjoyed in the area.

"Whoa you have a card shop here. I have to come and look at it later with mom and dad!" Jaden said eagerly as Yugi smiled solemnly. The shop gave him the nostalgic feeling of his grandpa's shop. He knew his friends would take care of the place and made sure it was in perfect condition for when he could come back to it.

"Hey Kou you mentioned yesterday that Teru knows about you being friends with Hanako? What did you mean about what you said..?" It bothered Yugi a bit about what Kou said. It was like he was afraid to tell him.

"It's nothing Yugi. Let's not mention that stuff right now.." kou avoided his cousins gaze as he runs ahead of the group announcing they'd head to an ice cream parlor around the corner. Yugi felt puzzled. So much he didn't know and nobody was telling him anything. The most confusing thing was what Kou had told him last night after he got off with his friends.

"You can't mention any of this to Senpai okay? Nor Hanako. It's not their secret to share. And you found out too soon. So shhh." He just nodded his head at the time still conflicted about what he found out from his friends.

but secrets.. what kind of secrets could those three be keeping to themselves? Were they bad? Dangerous? Or was it something that nobody else could understand? These things bothered Yugi until Yashiro broke his train of thoughts.

"Muto-kun? How's yami doing?" He looked at her meeting ruby eyes that were filled with concern. He shook his head. "I'll tell you later.." she gave him a hopeful smile as the group entered the ice cream parlor.

They all enjoyed some ice cream. Kou even paid for Jaden who didn't have any money on him, saying that he was only out to rude his bike and never expected to buy anything. Kou didn't mind doing it. They chatted around a large table laughing and talking about classes and school.

"Akane what was with chasing Schmidt out of class yesterday??" Yugi laughed. Akane fixed his glasses huffing. "That red head little shit was asking for it." Everyone laughed.

Jaden looked much better according to Yugi. The brunette was more smiles and his eyes were full of energy and light unlike before. "Have you guys heard of Duel monsters before?" The teens look at the 13 year old.

Akane rubbed his jaw. "Ah I heard of that. I actually got to see a tournament on tv a few months back. It was really interesting. So far I haven't been out and about to look at the cards shops or to see if any are around here." he nodded his head

Yugi smiled a little. "My grandpa owned a shop. Back in Domino city." He wasn't gonna say the whole truth. He wanted to leave some things back in domino. Especially his dueling. His title as king of games. Just anything that made him home sick he didn't want to think of.

It's why he shoved his cards and duel disc in a box under his bed along with anything he'd had won from a tournament. Sadly the world knew him as the king of games. Thankfully his new friends knew nothing about it.

"I'm a big fan of it. I haven't played too much tho." Jaden smiled. His words were more of a fib he kept his cards on him constantly because of how much he loved the game. His gaze went to Yugi before looking down.

"Maybe we all could try it someday. It might be fun." Yashiro smiled. Everyone eventually agreed to the idea, yugi not giving much of an opinion about it, mostly staying quiet and enjoying everyone's company.

Soon the day grew late as Yashiro Aoi and Akane split off to go to their houses. Kou and Yugi help Jaden fetch his broke bike as the three make their way back to the neighbor hood. With the two older boys help Jaden was able to get his bike home. "Thanks so much for helping me out. And thanks again for saving my butt yugi." Jaden gave a thumbs up.

"Not so fast. We still have to tell your parents about what happened." Kou brushed past him and knocks on the door. No sooner a woman no older than 40 was at the door her mixture of light blonde and brown hair parted in her face and fell down her back her brien eyes looking down at Kou.

"Mrs Yuki?" The woman glanced to see Jaden before speaking up. "Glad to see your home sweetie. Who are your friends?" Jaden smiled at his mom before dragged Yugi over to where Kou stood on the step.

"This is Kou and Yugi! They live around here. I-I'm sorry mom I ruined my bike..." Yugi squeezed the boys shoulder as he looked up at his mother who had a half worried half disappointed expression.

"it wasn't his fault Mrs Yuki. A car came out of nowhere and hit the bike. It would've hit Jaden too had I not pulled him out of the way in time." Jaden's mom bent down and hugged the three boys at once.

"At least you three are okay. But why is your leg and pant leg messed up?" She pulled at Jaden's torn pants. Jaden looked away embarrassed. "That was my fault... I lost control of the bike and literally ran these two over with it..." Kou and Yugi messed the boys hair up chuckling.

"It's alright I got him patched up. My younger sister is clumsy sometimes and gets scrapped up." Kou showed Mrs Yuki the first aid kit in his back pocket which she marveled at. "Ah what a good older brother you are. Thanks for taking care of my Jaden. I hope you'll come around. Jaden I got news from your dad. He got a permanent position at the office. We get to stay here."

Jaden's eyes go wide like the moon as he jumped up and down. "Yes! Finally I can have friends and not lose them!" He hugs his mom grinning wildly as he looks back at Kou and Yugi. "I get to stay so we can be friends right?" He held his hand out to the two as they grabbed it holding his hand.

"Even if you couldn't stay we would've still been friends! So yes!" Kou grinned his canines showing as the wind tousled their hairs. Jaden waved the two bye as he ran inside with his mom the Bike left by the porch as the two walked home.

"I told you you'd have a awesome day, huh Itoko?" The blonde smiled at him his teal eyes twinkling in the almost evening light. Yugi agreed with him. He did have an interesting day and made another friend.

This one knowing about duel monsters, something he held dear back home. He felt that Jaden would be the one to bring the game back in his life with new found love and joy for it.

The two made it back home as Yugi took off his sneakers and walked to his room while Kou went into the kitchen to start up dinner. They both noticed that Tiara and Teru's shoes were absent so they must've gone out.

Yugi booted up his computer a smile on his face. He looked at his puzzle with deep concern as he cleared his mind and let his consciousness enter the puzzle.

He opened his eyes to the familiar hall way the separated their consciousness. He pushed open the heavy metal door to reveal the labyrinth within.

"Yami! Yami where are you!?" He cuffed his hands around his mouth calling out into the emptiness. He walked through the endless stairs and halls. He listened and heard a faint groan.

He ran in the direction of the noise as he passes a door way and found Yami on the ground. He ran to him getting on the ground and lifted his partner in his arms his arm going around his shoulders.

"Yami! Yami! What's wrong?" He pulled off his jacket and saw the angry red bloody wound he got from Sukiyaki. His eyes widen in horror. Yami was pale shaking and sweaty. He struggled to open his eyes as he looks at Yugi who had faint tears in his eyes.

"Y-yugi.. get help.." he groaned hard his hand clutching his injured arm tightly from the pain shooting up it from the wound. The pharaoh spirit fainted in his Aibou's arms as the teen screamed his name. "Yami!? Yami!!" He held the male tightly to his chest as tears fell down his face.

(Im an awful person, I love yami he's one of my favorite Yugioh characters and here I am writing about him and I nearly get him killed the two stories I've written. Also the Reveal of Jaden Yuki was something I had planned because I wanted to kinda do a surprise.

Also most of the characters are keeping secrets tho you have to know the manga to know what they're hiding and since I'm kinda following the manga for points for some of this, the secrets are the same. I can't tell what they are right now so baby steps for now enjoy my cliffhanger)
